Over the centuries cardiovascular diseases have become the leading cause of death worldwide and researches have found that different diets have a different effect on the progression of cardiovascular diseases, mainly coronary artery disease. For that reason, and many others, more and more people have started changing their diets into more plant based ones. To find out whether this change is worth making, from a medical point of view, I’m going to investigate this topic in order to answer my research question: To what extent does a plant based diet lower the risk of coronary artery disease?
