vehicles. First one could be avoided by improving production techniques and technology, in addition to boosting the use of recycled materials. The same actions could be implemented to the transportation system for a great impact. The cities of this century are going to face many hurdles, amongst them overpopulation and pollution, in order to deal with them efficiently, multiple solutions are needed as only then we have a chance to succeed. Prevention is better than cure Prevention is better than cure. Or is cure better than prevention? Is it viable to use in conjunction? Prevention is better than cure in some cases. As the right timing of prevention can render cure unnecessary, that is of course the ideal situation. But that hardly ever occurs. As there will be always those who will need the cure. Because prevention can't help those who already need a cure. This is where the cure is in its own part. Because there will always be some, for whom

Crime

It is a disease, yet one of the basic doings of humanity. Crime has existed since the beginning of time. Ever since Kain slayed Abel, there has been crime. Though not only murder is a crime. Thievery, rape, arsonism and many more jolly things like that- they are all things that can be placed in a big metal barrel with the word crime written on it in blood. Actually everything illegal belongs there. And those who do it, they should be burned alive. There is no cure for being a thief, arsonist or a murderer. Only death can cure it. It is easy to become a criminal. For example, if you get sacked from your job, yet you have a family to feed, then it is easy to pocket some wallets or purses on the street and sell them. That would be the begining of a most likely long cycle, that usually ends with death or imprisonment. It is not easy to escape that cycle, because once a criminal- allways a criminal!

Art of Healing: present and future

things would really change so much. Organs from dead people can be donated to people who need them to survive. The problem is that it is hard to find a suitable organ. I think that in the future they find a solution how to fit the organs into the patient's body or the doctors are able to make reliable artificial organs and those who cannot be helped today can be helped in the future. I am sure that the future will bring new opportunities to cure diseases that cannot be cured now. I believe and hope that scientist will find some kind of treatment for AIDS for the year 2020. I suppose that if a risky illness will start spreading the scientists will find cure against it quicker and the people will know exactly how to avoid catching a flu that is dangerous and how to react if you have the symptoms of that flu. I imagine that the people will learn more about the dangerous infections and

EUTHANASIA

that they could do it in a dignified manner rather than have their lives prolonged by medical technology? Ultimately, it's a question of choice: empowering people to have control over their own bodies. The main opposition comes from religious groups, medical associations whose members see practising euthanasia as an inproper exctension of their role as carers. Throughout centuries the doctors' purpose in life has been to cure suffering, how can they be expected to do otherwise, even if it's done for a good cause. The issue has been misinterpreted by some people. They seem to be of the opinion that practicing euthanasia would turn nursing homes into places of fear and elderly people in residencial home are afraid that they will be a candidate. For whatever motive it may be done, all civilisations, all religions have regarded this as morally wrong.

Should parents be obliged to immunize their children against childhood diseases?

Should parents be obliged to immunize their children against childhood diseases? Or do individuals have the right to choose not to immunize their children? Some people argue that the state has the right to make parents immunize their children. It seems to me that immunisation is necessary because it stops spreading diseases all over the world. Preventive medicine is a very useful way to eradicate illnesses because by applying it we do not need to cure diseases or treat their symptoms, we just prevent them. Every year thousand of children’s lives are saved thanks to timely vaccination. In addition, history also demonstrates us that childhood illnesses of previous centuries such as measles, tuberculosis and diphtheria have declined dramatically nowadays due to preventive care, which has protected children from potentially deadly diseases. Some members of our society will mention freedom of choice and insist that parents can make

Animal Experimentation

Animal Experimentation Based on the Constitution of Estionia, we are all born with equal rights. However, mankind denys that animals share these rights. Animals are just as entitled to the rights of living, avoiding pain as humans are. Nonetheless, we still abuse them, often even without a second thought. Despite the wide use of animal testing, the research gained from it is not helpful to mankind. The chemicals and medicines tested on animals reacts differently on every species. That is why results gained from animal testing could be incorrect and misleading. In many cases, not only are the results wrong, but the opposite can be true for humans; a drug may cure a disease in lab animals but have an bad effect when used in treating people for the same symptoms. Only the study of human patients will ultimately lead to valid research. Unfortunately, many institutions which commit v...

That is the reason why he took Raymond from the institution where he was living. He wanted to take the money from his brother even when he realised that there was something wrong with him. At least he came to his senses in the end. The second problem revolves around Raymond and his disability. No one understood what he was going through. At that time, autism wasn't a widely known disorder. Nowadays, there is still no actual cure for it but it can be managed. Many people who are autistic can live relatively normal lives. The therapy for autism is usually different for every subject. It has to be developed for the patients' needs. In the movie, Raymond didn't have that. Even his own brother thought he was crazy and stupid when in reality, he was exceptionally smart and understood numbers the way no one else did. The third problem is the relationship between Charlie and his father. They hadn't spoken for years

The Advantages and Disadvantages of City and Country Living

I think that both City Living and Country Living has disadvantages and advantages, first of all it depends only of the person. Every person has their own taste and idea of the world that they live in. For example, I like living in city, but I have also a friend, who thinks that living in country is good for her health and mind, which is why she approves it. However, some people, who approves living in country still lives in city. Cure for going against their wishes is that some people decorates their apartment or house with paintings of peaceful and bright-colored landscapes as it brings not only a sense of artistic consciousness to their home, but also makes them feel cosy and allows them to at least temporarily forget about daily routine and pollution, crime (especially in bigger, crowded cities) and noise they have to endure when they go outside. I'd say that it is disadvantages for living in a city.

Alchemy English

For thousand of years scientists all over the world have sought for three main goals of alchemy. The most renowned goal of alchemy is the transmutation of any metal into gold or silver. Also they tried to create universal panacea. It's a remedy that would cure all diseases and prolong life indefinitely. The philosphper's stone was the key in these goals. This mythical substance could just as well be powder or liquid. Alchemy is considered as the precursor of the modern science of chemistry. The Philospher's stone is perhaps best known in Britain through the best-selling book and movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone. But its origins go back thousands of years to ancient world

Retelling the Aboriginal people

Tribesmen recognized the tracks of animals and developed extraordinary skills in tracking their pray. 5. Traditions, arts and beliefs. The Aborigines blamed supernatural forces for all the events and used magic and ritual to get rid of evil spirits. Each of the clans had a special sacred place on their land where their spirits returned after death. The daily life and religious beliefs of Aborigines are best described in their paintings. Natural medicines from plants and roots were used to cure illnesses and the healing of the spirit was more important than the healing of the body. 6. European settlers Contact with British settlers began in 1788. The British, thinking that their culture was superior (parim), tried to impose (peale suruda) it on the native Aborigines. The settlers exploited (kurjalt kasutama) the traditional hunting lands of the Aborigines by intensive, large-scale agriculture, sheep herding and cutting down the forests. substances. That is only a short- term solution and makes the situation even worse, because you become dependant on these substances. But there are other better albeit slower solutions. For example breathing slower and meditating has been found beneficial for stressreilief. Even some foods have been shown to reduce the level of cortisol in our body. Cortisol is a stressinducing hormone that sends signals to the body, when your brain thinks it is in trouble. So the best cure would be to just feel less anxious and to be more realistic about your enviorment. If you see your little challenges as they are, you will surely feel better and make more pragmatic decisions.

Electropop ja Crystal Castles

Electropop on pop-suunitlusega elektrooniline muusika, kus peamiselt kasutatakse süntesaatorid. zanr on taas saanud populaarsemaks alates 2000ndatest aastatest. Nimi "electropop" on lühike vorm "elektroonilisest pop". 2000ndatel aastatel on paljud tundmatud muusikud...

My analysis of the article “ Why Ebola is so dangerous”

My analysis of the article " Why Ebola is so dangerous" I chose this article because this theme is very current in our society, and many people are dying due to the disease called Ebola. The theme is very intriguing and I hope it interests people, because it definitely interests me. I think that this article makes people more aware of the disease and hopefully helps to put a stop to Ebola. Ebola virus disease, or simply Ebola, is a disease of humans and other primates caused by ebolaviruses. Signs and symptoms typically start between two days and three weeks after contracting the virus, as a fever, sore throat, muscle pain and headaches. Then, vomiting, diarrhea and rash usually follow, along with decreased function of the liver and kidneys. At this time, generally, some people begin to bleed both internally and externally. Death, if it occurs, follows typically six to sixteen days after symptoms appear and is often due to low blood ...

History · Early hospitals During the Middle Ages the hospital could serve other functions, such as an almshouse for the poor, or hostel for pilgrims. In ancient cultures, religion and medicine were linked. The earliest known institutions aiming to provide cure were Egyptian temples. Greek temples dedicatedto the healer-god, might admit the sick, who would wait for guidance from the god in a dream. The Romans adopted this worship. The Sri Lankans are perhaps responsible for introducing theconcept ofdedicated hospitals to the world. missing, but it would be so selfish of me. If I were you I’d stay indoors and avoid contact with others it really is a serious matter. Because of the prisonlike position I’m in, I’m often on the verge of crying and I feel like I can’t control my feelings anymore. Despite the insane amount of worry and stress I still hope that the virus slowly disappears and we all can go on with our regular lives. It would be great if the scientists would discover the cure and all the ill would get the treatment they need. But I don’t think it will happen in near future. I hope that COVID-19 is afraid of warm weather and people will not get sick in April or May. In the meantime I think that Estonian government will keep all the schools locked down until 6th April. I don’t even want to think about the time when we all need to go to school after a break that lasted so long. It will be stressful to say at least.

Tom Sawyer raamatu kokkuvõte Mark Twain lühikirjeldus

Plot Overview An imaginative and mischievous boy named Tom Sawyer lives with his Aunt Polly and his half-brother, Sid, in the Mississippi River town of St. Petersburg, Missouri. After playing hooky from school on Friday and dirtying his clothes in a fight, Tom is made to whitewash the fence as punishment on Saturday. At first, Tom is disappointed by having to forfeit his day off. However, he soon cleverly persuades his friends to trade him small treasures for the privilege of doing his work. He trades these treasures for tickets given out in Sunday school for memorizing Bible verses and uses the tickets to claim a Bible as a prize. He loses much of his glory, however, when, in response to a question to show off his knowledge, he incorrectly answers that the first two disciples were David and Goliath. Tom falls in love with Becky Thatcher, a new girl in town, and persuades her to get “engaged” to him. Their romance collapses when she le...

of clean, fresh water. We should exercise regularly, strengthening our muscles and keeping us in shape. Exercise helps the blood circulate around our bodies, cleaning out waste and supplying plenty of oxygen. It is also important what we get enough sleep. The number of hours we sleep we need depend on our age. Young babies sleep for 20-22 hours each day, whereas older people often need only 6-7 hours. 2.1 Early hospitals The earliest known institutions aiming to provide cure were Egyptian temples. In ancient times temples dedicated to the gods of healing used to have a hospital area. Sick people came there to pray and be treated. Later in the Middle Ages hospitals attached to monasteries were run by monks and nuns. The oldest hospital still in existence is in Paris. It was founded in 800's A.D. In the 1700's European cities began to build hospitals. They were charity hospitals for the poor and sick, as the rich people were treated at home

Protecting endangered species will make a difference in humans life

These benefits, whichthat are called "ecosystem services", which most of us take for granted. Some of these services are obvious; fFor instance, there are the plants and animals that we eat. Meanwhile, photosynthetic plankton in the sea and green plants, provide us with the oxygen we breathe. If those things disappear humans will lose physical goods in their life. From a lot of different animal species that are in a danger of extinction we, humans, get the medicine that cures will cure our sicknesses. The use of animal parts in traditional medicine can also contribute to a species' decline, despite there being no real evidence of the efficacy of these treatments. The rarity of a creature does not protect it from being killed in the name of "medicine"; it just raises the market price and by that humankind is destroying its own environment. We do not know are the parts of the animals that are used in the medicine actually helpful to us. There is no proof that

The Domician Monastery

In addition they ran a brewery, which produced four different kinds of beer. In northern Europe beer occupied the place enjoyed by wine in the south, and was a staple element of both the monastic and secular diet. The monastery also drew profit from the veneration of relics. Many documents mention twelve silver reliquaries containing the heads of saints. Some reposed on the high altar whereas others were enshrined on side altars. Each `head was reputed to cure a different set of diseases. In 1517 the Reformation started in German and very quickly spread into the Baltic states. The loyalty of the friars to Rome made them immediate victims. In 1523 a Lutheran mob burnt down the Franciscan monastery in Kuramaa. The Dominican monastery in Tallinn was destroyed on ,1524. In 1954 the former garden, cloister and refectory of the Dominican monastery were restored and opened to visitors. One of the most beautiful and peacefri pleaces in Talliun

example, introduced the wooden horse. In 393 AD the Emperor Theodosius abolished the Olympic Games, which by then had become corrupt, and gymnastics along with other sports had been declined. For centuries, gymnastics was all but forgotten. Girolamo Mercuriale In the fifteenth century, Girolamo Mercuriale from Forlì (Italy) wrote De Arte Gymnastica, that brought together his study of the attitudes of the ancients toward diet, exercise and hygiene, and the use of natural methods for the cure of disease. De Arte Gymnastica also explained the principles of physical therapy and is considered the first book on sports medicine. In the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century Germany, three pioneer physical educators Johann Friedrich GutsMuths (17591839) and Friedrich Ludwig Jahn (17781852) created exercises for boys and young men on apparatus they had designed that ultimately led to what is considered modern gymnastics. Drugs and addiction

1. Addictions Addiction has been defined as physical and psychological dependence on psychoactive substances (for example alcohol, tobacco, heroin, caffeine and other drugs) which cross the blood-brain barrier once ingested, temporarily altering the chemical milieu of the brain. Drug addiction Drug addiction can simply be defined as a "chronic relapsing disorder characterized by persistent drug-seeking and drug-taking behaviours". Drug addiction is chronic, with no known cure. Controlled may be by means such as voluntary 12 step programs, group therapy, one on one therapy, and mandatory methadone maintenance. Treatment programs can be successful in treating the addiction. Without treatment, active drug addicts often end up dead, incarcerated, or in institutions. Health topic

Diseases There are many different diseases in the world. Some have been stamped out, others have improved and come back. New diseases have also developed, such as AIDS, stress, diabetes etc. These diseases are called the diseases of the 20th century. Today many diseases are well known and can be cured. Such diseases are flu, pneumonia, measles and many others. Coughs and cold are common diseases in winter. They can easily be cured if you rest and make medicine properly. But if you don't cure them well, they might turn into a worse disease. Cold, for example, can develop into sinusitis (põsekoopapõletik), cough into pneumonia(kopsupõletik) or asthma. Besides falling ill with one of these diseases you may hurt yourself in many other ways. You may sprain your ankle, break your leg or cut your finger. If you cut your finger you must stop the bleeding by putting a handage on it. In serous cases of accidents you must ring for an ambulance. Some diseases are infectious

walled up for ever and to hide the fact he had a proper window with curtains painted on the wall. Marzipan or Mart's Bread Historians might tell you that marzipan, that sweet confection made from almonds and sugar, comes from Persia or Italy, but local legend insists the delicacy was invented right here at Tallinn's Town Hall Pharmacy. Long ago, so the story goes, a town alderman fell ill and summoned the apothecary to prescribe a cure. The expert apothecary knew an elaborate formula he was certain would work, but the alderman insisted that the apothecary test the medicine on himself. As fate would have it, the apothecary caught a nasty cold, so the preparation (and guinea pig) duty fell to his young apprentice, Mart. Being a clever lad, Mart replaced each bitter ingredient with a sweet one. Not only did the tasty remedy work,

Bändid dubleerisid sõna "alternatiivne", sest neil polnud ühtset stiili. Alternatiivne rokk erines tolle aja peavoolu muusikast.
