Therefore, the steel design and construction industry has been on the forefront of technical innovation. The purpose of this study is to determine how 3D and BIM are changing the design, fabrication and construction of complex steel structures. The thesis is qualitative in nature, in that it tries to determine the effects of virtual design and construction based on in-depth analysis of two case studies.
