Title: The Way Home
Writer: Sue Leather
This book is about eight journeys which change lives forever. Every story is touched and helps me think more about the meanings of life.
The Way Home: Alex had a nice husband she went on many trips from time to time. In one of her journeys, she bumped into an attractive man, Stefano . After a nice talk, he asked her to stay at the same hotel and the same room. At the time she agreed, it just began her betrayal and she didn’t know how to stop it. Remembering her childhood, she was very frighten about her mom’s betrayal and ran away in a long distance from home. And now, she was going home, she was beginning to believe that only her journey home would help her to bring her betrayal to an end……
Betrayal could happen so easily, that’s why more and more people have extramarital relations recently. But, it’s really hard to find something that good, and really easy to lose it. Just consider pro and con, and then keep what you really love. However , distance makes everything clearer; you can only see the whole when you are far enough. Take Alex for an example, as she had travelled ever further outwards, she found the answer .
The Nature of Truth : Annie was a successful author and she met an old friend , Jane , on the train .
Things change a lot, even if you had settled down. Jane had the boyfriend in collage and they soon got married after graduated. At first , they had a happy life, but one year later, Jane’s husband had extramarital relations and divorced with Jane. In a summary, what will life be in the future? Future is not to see.
Just the facts: Reporter was Lisa’s first job and now she was going to write an article about Gary who killed a judgment in town and Gary was sentenced to death . However, Gary said he didn’t kill that man. All of Lisa’s associates thought prisoners always emphasized they were innocent , so Lisa’s boss just wanted her to write an article about how bad Gary was. Actually, Gary wasn’t the murder ; the real killer was the judgment’s daughter. It’s too late …Gary had been sentenced to death……
How power can do everything, even execute an innocent man. It’s all our faults. We could no longer recognize the truth, and even didn’t speak out. We let power to do everything.
Winter in the Desert : the woman , Lee, picked up a stranger , Jed, and saved his life in the desert. But soon she discovered this stranger was a killer, who killed her unfaithful husband.
It was relief that you have when you find something precious you thought you’d lost , after a long search, you find cool, sweet water in the desert.
The Knowledge : A taxi driver , Ricky, picked up a man called himself “ Bruce Lee”, and this “Bruce Lee” taught him the true meaning of fighting. He said,” Don’t think that fighting is about aggression. You don’t realize that it’s about being strong enough to walk away”.
After this strange thing, Ricky came home early and found his wife had another man. Ricky was too angry and felt like killing that man, but recalled what Bruce taught him, he calmed down and let his wife went away. He rethought his life and his ambition, he didn’t want just be a taxi driver. He entered a collage, and then ran his own business.
It is never too old to learn. Knowledge is everything.
Fifteen hundred words : Abi was a film writer, she used to created thrill story, but now it’s time to changed her favor . One day, she took a bus with her boyfriend. They met a poor man begged for a toonie. Abi gave him right away, but her boyfriend was ruffled and hit that beggar. All the passengers in the bus sympathized with that old man. Abi soon broke up with her boyfriend and wrote these things into a story, a fifteen words story. A bus drive changed her life and work forever.
It can be slow and insistent, like waves on rock. Until one day the rock is no longer there .
North Sea Eyes : At the first sight when Harry saw Ria, who was a tram driver with beautiful eyes, which the exact color of the North Sea. Harry followed her and saw her from a distance from time to time. Until one day, he found that Ria was a different girl, very different. Actually, she was a man……
Don’t choose a book by its cover ; don’t judge a person by his face . Do not trust the stranger until you really know that person’s background,
End Point: There strangers, having different backgrounds, stayed in the same motel. But a crazy murderer, Joe, came in and shot all the people in there for no reason ……
Joe was put in jail before, after freeing from jail, he married Rita and he was arranged by his father -in-law to work in a hotel restaurant which was founded by their relative. One day, Joe was scored by his boss and he was out of sort. However, he had a high temper so he hurt his fellows. In addition, he took a train to Austin, where the motel was, he didn’t know why he did that, he just want to get rid of everything. While he entered the motel, the clerk at reception said that the motel was full , something inside Joe broke. He was out of sort again. He went crazy, shooting everyone dead……
As a mater of fact , I don’t really understand what the author tries to convey the meaning of this story. Everyone was dead in the end. As I think twice, I suggest that maybe he wants to tell us accident could happen every time and everywhere . Like these people being killed, they didn’t have time to say goodbye to their love ones; they didn’t realize that the motel was their final destination, their end point. In sum, we should cherish our time.
Every journey can change your life or your explanation for life meaning. You might bomb into a person who gives you an idea or help you change you life. In sum, go traveling frequently and stretch a field of view.

Kitty, just 18, is in her first season as a debutante and is expected to make an excellent match with a man of her social standing. Vronsky has been paying her considerable attention, and she expects to dance with him at a ball that evening. Kitty is very struck by Anna's beauty and personality and is infatuated with her. When Levin proposes to Kitty at her home, she clumsily turns him down, because she believes she is in love with Vronsky and that he will propose to her. At the ball, Vronsky pays Anna considerable attention, and dances with her, choosing her as a partner instead of Kitty, who is shocked and heartbroken. Kitty realises that Vronsky has fallen in love with Anna, and that despite his overt flirtations with her he has no intention of marrying her and in fact views his attentions to her as mere amusement, believing that she does the same

"How about afterwards? What you going to give him for afterwards?" "Well - what would you suggest, Sam?" The man glanced around his shop. "How about a nice big slice of cheesecake? I know he likes that." "Perfect," she said. "He loves it." And when it was all wrapped and she had paid, she put on her brightest smile and said, "Thank you, Sam. Goodnight." "Goodnight, Mrs. Maloney. And thank you." And now, she told herself as she hurried back, all she was doing now, she was returning home to her husband and he was waiting for his supper; and she must cook it good, and make it as tasty as possible because the poor man was tired; and if, when she entered the house, she happened to find anything unusual, or tragic, or terrible, then naturally it would be a shock and she'd become frantic with grief and horror. Mind you, she wasn't expecting to find anything. She was just going home with the vegetables. Mrs. Patrick Maloney going home with the vegetables on Thursday evening to

wide, childlike eyes. How could I leave my loving, erratic, harebrained mother to fend for herself? Of course she had Phil now, so the bills would probably get paid, there would be food in the refrigerator, gas in her car, and someone to call when she got lost, but still... "I want to go," I lied. I'd always been a bad liar, but I'd been saying this lie so frequently lately that it sounded almost convincing now. "Tell Charlie I said hi." "I will." "I'll see you soon," she insisted. "You can come home whenever you want -- I'll come right back as soon as you need me." But I could see the sacrifice in her eyes behind the promise. "Don't worry about me," I urged. "It'll be great. I love you, Mom." She hugged me tightly for a minute, and then I got on the plane, and she was gone. It's a four-hour flight from Phoenix to Seattle, another hour in a small plane up to Port Angeles, and then an hour drive back down to Forks. Flying doesn't bother me; the hour in the car with Charlie, though, I

it or not, got lost! Awful! I was so scared... We walked and walked, not even knowing the direction we were heading to, until we reached a huge mansion. And the garden around it was so extraordinary... That is something you just must see! But neither the trees nor flowers could be as wonderful as the owner himself! Sir Thom treated us tea and sandwiches, not forgetting to show us way back to the village. He was so kind, don't you think? In the end, when we had nearly reached our home, he suddenly stopped and called us to a ball! Can you imagine?! A ball with Sir Thom! What an honour... I bet Emily Woodcut will be envious. What about you, Mary? Have you made plans for the summer? I'd really like to introduce you to him after all, you are the governor's daughter. Then his opinion of me will raise even higher, right? So what do you think? Would you like to pay a visit to Cherry village this summer? Can't wait to your letter! Best wishes, Anne C. Questions:

"We've got a kitchen most restaurants would kill for. There's no way to screw up a meal in there." Dubious, I headed out with a wave, choosing to avoid a conversation about cooking. Taking the elevator down to the first floor, I smiled at the doorman when he let me out to the street with a flourish. The moment I stepped outside, the smells and sounds of Manhattan embraced me and invited me to explore. I was not merely across the country from my former home in San Diego, but seemingly worlds away. Two major metropolises-one endlessly temperate and sensually lazy, the other teeming with life and frenetic energy. In my dreams, I'd imagining living in a walkup in Brooklyn, but being a dutiful daughter, I found myself on the Upper West Side instead. If not for Cary living with me, I would've been miserably lonely in the sprawling apartment that cost more per month than most people made in a year. The doorman tipped his hat to me

knew the easiness of his temper, whether he might not spend the remainder of his days at Netherfield, and leave the next generation to purchase. His sisters were anxious for his having an estate of his own; but, though he was now only established as a tenant, Miss Bingley was by no means unwilling to preside at his table-- nor was Mrs. Hurst, who had married a man of more fashion than fortune, less disposed to consider his house as her home when it suited her. Mr. Bingley had not been of age two years, when he was tempted by an accidental recommendation to look at Netherfield House. He did look at it, and into it for half-an-hour--was pleased with the situation and the principal rooms, satisfied with what the owner said in its praise, and took it immediately. Between him and Darcy there was a very steady friendship, in spite of great opposition of character
