How global warming will change the way we live in future?

Hello ladies and gentelmans Today I'm going to talk about how global warming will change the way we live in future. In fact durning the twentieth century global temperature went up by over 0,7 Celsius degree. It looks pretty small number but even slight Climate change leads to serious consequences. Firstly, global warming will cause that glaciers start to melt. And as a result, the water level will raise and cities and villages which are located near oceans and sees will be flooded. Secondly, if we don't stop global warming, we will bserve more examples of extreme weather such as heat waves, storm clouds, which may lead to floods, droughts and forest fires. Next conseqences of global warming is that oceans temperature will go up. It is likely that it will cause an increase in activity of hurricanes, what will cause many unimaginable destructions. Also, ice will start to melting in Alaska, so it will lead to extremination of ma...

The future seems dark. - 2012

The future seems dark. There have been plenty of ideas discussed about what will happen in 2012. But how do we know which to trust? There's very little legitimate scientific evidence out there to tell us unequivocally what the truth is, so what do we really know? The most important thing to remember when looking into all the theories going around is this: No one knows. Not the Mayan experts, not the conspiracy theorists, not the sceptics. Recently sceptics have used comments from modern day Mayans themselves that

Conditionals

PAST TENSE SIMPLE PRESENT CONDITIONAL would + infinitive The second conditional refers to the present and future. It expresses an unreal situation and its probable result. The situation or condition is improbable, impossible, imaginary, or contrary to known facts. FIRST v. SECOND CONDITIONAL If John runs fast, he will win the race. This is still possible to happen. If John ran fast, he would win the race. This is unlikely to happen because John doesn't run fast. THE DIFFERENCE: FIRST and SECOND CONDITIONAL Both conditionals refer to the present and future. The difference is about probability, not time. First conditional: real and possible situations Second conditional: unlikely to happen THIRD CONDITIONAL Jack wanted to buy a house last year but he couldn't do that because he didn't have any money.

Forests sometimes need to be updated. We need to take down trees with diseases. But we cant cut down trees which have cultural information in them. There may have some text beaten in from thousands years ago. Here is a tree which has old bicycle in it. 6.slaid Scientist may strive and work out ,,safe" genetical plant modificating but do we investigate these trees enough, before we start using in forestry? We will never know what could happen. It may not happen today or tomorrow but it can happen in next century. Essentially are GMO trees used by fruit-farmers. World in 2060

In the industrial revolution scientist developed the most common things that we currently use in a very short term of time, thus why they can't do it again. For now, world is an oil dependent society, and that has to change, what is more, no secondary solution for petrol hasn't been proved successful. We might run out of petrol soon and therefore we need another source of energy that makes our lives easier. To sum up, future will always be a mystery. It may well as happen that there will be an Armageddon and we all, human race will be swept of the world. What is more bound to happen is that there will be improvements in all fields.

The Book I Advice to Read and Why

To what point can we predict our own destiny? This is the question that hangs in the air over The Fifth Mountain. Paulo Coelho brings out the universal themes of how faith and love can ultimately triumph over. The author lets the reader draw his own conclusions after having experienced the hero's breathtaking adventure. Sometimes the world seems to have conspired against us, and we ask ourselves, "Why does this have to happen to me?" So, I advice to read this book for those, who wants to understand why does it happen sometimes.

Marriage is an outdated institution

the union of two people who have given a permission to love each other in sickness and in health, until the death do they part is the evidence of everlasting love? I think the answer for these questions is No and I would talk about my opinions why i think so. First of all, i think everyone know that the rate of divorces is quite high. For example, 50% percent of first marriages, 67% of second and 74% of third marriages end in divorce in America. There are many reasons why this happen and people get divorced. Infidelity, poor communication, change in priorities and cte. Nobody can't say that it does no happen to us, because we love each other so much. but never say never, because if your marriage ends you should know the cost of divorce and it could be a lot more than you may think. A lot of fees: lawyer's fees, court bills, . and someone even can't afford a divorce. My advice is : Do not get married. There are so many advantages of not getting married

others say that they are unlucky. In my opinion is not just people who might be lucky or unlucky- it can be single acts. When someone does not win a card game or misses a shot in basketball then they often think that they are unlucky. People who say that they have bad luck are negative. For example they woun´t even play bingo or take part in raffle. They think that because they are unlucky they can not be lucky. I am sure that if they wait something good will happen their lives. I like to wish people good luck, because i think it is a nice thing to say if someone has an interview or an exam. But people pass exams or interviews because they studied hard or spoke well, not because of luck. People who consider to be lucky just embrace that idea that they are lucky start approacing life a bit differently. And because they thing that they are lucky people take more risks haing more unplanned events. But there is also a possibility that the same

If you can dream it, you can do it!

If you want your dreams come ture, then you need courage. When you are shy, you don´t reach anywhere. With courage you are more open to take a risks. You don´t become frightened and you have courage to strive towards your dreams. You are open to talk with anyone, who you want. You have a lot of acquaintances, which carry you forward in your life. Second thing what you need, when you want your dreams come true is activity. Nothing in this world woun´t happen himself. You have to do more by yourself. For example you have to initiate a lot of attempts to earn money for a thing, which you are dreaming about. It doesn´t happen when you are lazy. Your dreams come true when you go forward them more diligently. Third and most important thing what you need to your dreams come true is industry. You have to be hard-working and work hard to reach at your dreams. You can´t be indifferent, because then you don´t reach at your dreams

Dorian Gray - The price of everlastin beauty

age not him but he does not think about the consequence. Lord Henry points out that Dorian cannot be beautiful and young forever and Dorian wishes that the painting would age not him. I think this it not worth it because everyone around Dorian will grow old and eventually die. He would see the people he cares about dying. Also, when Dorian understand that he can be beautiful forever, he does not care so much about what is going to happen or even what is going to happen with people around him. He was a caring young man who loved very much Sibyl, especially when she was acting. After realizing he would stay young forever, he does not care about Sibyl so much. He only likes Sibyl's acting but when he sees that Sibyl really cannot act, he is disappointed and does not love Sibyl anymore, he does not care what Sibyl thinks and feels. Furthermore, he does not care about his health anymore. He starts to live more dangerous life and he is afraid of the picture of him

Weather and climate

'Funny weather we are having' is a statement of the obvious we have used for generations as a greeting. When the deep cold lasts long and heavy snow and blizzards give us the shivers we replace "funny" with something stronger, such as "terrible", "ghastly". At times like these people ask what is happening to the weather. So we go to the experts, who tell us in language appropriate to the subject, what happened yesterday, what is happening today, and what might happen in the next few years. Weather and climate specialists all over the world have collected a vast quantity of information. They can describe what is happening around us. With satellites they can forecast more accurately what might happen in the immediate future. Their research has produced evidence of why past climatic changes took place. There have been many climate fluctuations over the 10,000 years since Britain was last covered with an ice sheet

SPEECH: Attitude rather than aptitude is the key to succsess

Dear classmates and teacher! Nearly every person in this room have big hopes for the future. Almost EVERY ONE of us want to accomplish more than the others. We've set our standards high. Much higher than they were before and every generation lifts them higher. Every one of us dream of/about all kind of things. Some of them are small and brief, some bigger and long termed. Unfortunately, most of those remain to dreams, because nowadays people are lazy. Somewhy we are waiting things to happen without putting any effort to it. They say patience is a vertue, but if you want things to happen you need to come out from your comfort-zone and take action. (50 sek) When I was searching for materials for this speach, I constantly noticed 80/20 rule. It sais/d that FULLY eighty percent of success will be determined by attitude and ONLY twenty by aptitude. (I think the numbers are a litte bit exaggerated. 60/40 would be more suitable.) In my opinion, it goes for every field

Imagination will make us infinite

and free speech wouldn’t be around if mankind didn’t start to think of an equal and peaceful world. Humanity could still be having massive wars trying to enslave or kill eachother wihtout remorse and It has taken many great thinkers and many innocent lives to make this world what it is today. Imagination has changed the wolrd we live in and put many names forever in our history books. Thus showing us that imagination maybe mans best tool for the future. Because nobody knows what will happen tomorrow. Will the sun rise in the morning or not? But we can imagine what could happen and make it better.

The highest result of education is tolerance

at school? Does anybody in this room know why?........Okay, let's just drop that question for now, we'll come back to it later. If I would ask you Where do we get our education from you all would probably say: From schools duuuh! But what is a school? Tallinn English College? Yeah, it is a school with all those fancy numbers with what you can become successful........but the greatest education comes from the life school where we learn about other people's views and thoughts. And when those views happen to have even a slight difference from our own then we start a discussion what at the end of the day helps us to understand the world in a better way, more opened minded way. As we all know Helen Keller was a remarkable activist with a really high tolerance level. Tolerating our fellow compatriots should be every person's goal. For me seeing a bigoted with a high degree is just asinine. How can you even name yourself so called educated person

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

add up and make an even bigger change that any single organization or person could ever do. To be the change we want to see in the world, people do not have to be smart, rich or well educated. They need to have a dream and commitment. The problems facing the world today are great, and it will surely take the greatness of millions if not billions of people working together towards a common goal to overcome them. Changing the world does not happen overnight, but it would not happen by not making an effort either. “When the whole world is silent, even once voice becomes powerful.” These strong words said by 16-year-old education activist Malala Yousafzai have had a big impact on people that have doubted themselves about for example starting a fundraising event or listing up as a volunteer to help people that cannot get proper education. People are often afraid of the consequences, if their attempt at enforcing change goes wrong

Policy of 2016

About 52% of the British people voted for leaving the EU. Brexit turned things in the EU upside down and people were amazed, especially people who voted for not leaving the EU. After voting and seeing the results, a lot of people who voted for leaving regretted it, because they just wanted to see if UK is capable to do something big like this. That is why UK is extending the Brexit, because most of the people do not want it. I think when Brexit is finally accomplished, then we will see what will happen and what will be changed in British people lives and also how it affects our lives. I think there would not be much changes, because the Unites Kingdom does not want to become people’s enemy. In November 8, 2016, the United States had 58th presidential election. The biggest nominees were Donald Trump, who won 30 states, and Hillary Clinton, who won 20 states. Hillay had 48% of the votes and Donald 46%, but Donald won, because of the winning number of the states. I do not like him at all,

''Dracula'' analüüs

Also the book has ten pages of notes which are explanations of different places, names and expressions. ‘’Dracula’’ has cathegorised under many different genres of literature – vampire literature, horror fiction, gothic novel and invasion literature. For me it is mostly horror fiction, although I find this more as a fantasy literature or thriller. I do not think there is something really horrifying but there is the excitement of what is going to happen next. In my opinion, ‘’Dracula’’ is a story about the good and the evil. People in England are trying to save their country, even the world, from the evil of Count Dracula, who definitely has great power to do that. Of course, this fight has its ups and downs, as usual in the stories of good and the evil. As it appears, there are no winning without loss so this is a great example of good defeating the bad. Giving opinion

If you ask me, _______ 4.0 GIVING YOUR OPINION ABOUT A TOPIC 4.1 Expressing a strong opinion In my opinion, fashion is a complete waste of time, money and resources. In my opinion, there's only one choice - English! In my view, government money shouldn't be used to support the Arts. In my reckoning, if we could lock up juvenile criminals, they'd learn that they couldn't get away with it. I strongly believe in preventing problems before they happen. In much the same way as the Japanese prepare for earthquakes, countries with dry climates could have water catchment systems and reservoirs to defend against water shortage. I definitely think that countries should be self-sufficient in food and basic necessities. Don't you think it's better to stay single? Well, if you ask me, it all depends on your circumstances. Well, I think everybody should have the right to join a trade union. 4

Letter of complaint

First of all, I stayed at a small room with noisy guests in the next room. Although, I had been told that I would be staying at a large private room far away from other guests. Second of all, the food was terrible. However, the brochure said that you have one of the best chefs in your hotel and that the food will be amazing. Furthermore, when I got the bill, I was shocked how overcharged I was. I assume you will replace my bad experiences with a full refund. I hope that this will not happen anymore and you improve your service. Yours faithfully, Kristi Rapper

How does solar power work? Solar panels are used to collect sunlight. Solar panels are made up of photovoltaic cells that convert the sunlight into energy. Why do we need it? How does it lead to better health? Solar power is source of clean energy. It does not produce pollution or greenhouse gases or carbon compounds. Solar power would be a lot safer for the environment and a lot better for the health of people. What would happen if we don't use solar power? If we don't start using solar power, we would use oil and coal. They produce pollution and will cause millions of people to suffer from respiratory related problems.
