The Moon Is Down

They try to combat the resistance and force the inhabitants into submission, but realize the futility of this, as it becomes clear the war is lost. The Moon Is Down is a story one can view from both sides. The main characters include both the townspeople and the officers of the occupation force. The conflict starts at the beginning of the occupation as an illusion of a friendly takeover both the invaders and the locals try to maintain, is shattered by the deaths of several people killed because of futile resistance attempts. At first, things go well. The locals are stunned and confused, and the invaders busily plan and carry out expansion of coal production. Soon enough, a slow, burning anger replaces the people's fear and a ragged resistance movement forms. Random acts of sabotage occur against soldiers and the coal mine. The invaders, under orders from above, impose repressive measures to keep the production going

That's why veterinarians, animal behaviourists, biologists and animal welfare organizations around the world have condemned wild animal acts. Circuses and traveling shows with wild animals also pose a risk to human safety. Numerous circus employees have been seriously injured or killed by performing animals and circus audience members have been injured when han- dlers have lost control of their animals. Many performing animals are large, potentially dangerous species that even zoos don't handle. But when they perform in circuses and traveling shows, they often do so without adequate pro- tection for staff and audience members. We now know that performing animals suffer in circuses and traveling shows and that wild animal acts pose a dan- ger to human safety

Safety on the road

Safety on the road: it is not difficult to ensure in school areas March 29, 2009 by Ülo Kaart Road safety aims to reduce the harm (deaths, injuries, and property damage) resulting from crashes of road vehicles. Harm from road traffic crashes is greater than that from all other transportation modes (air, sea, space, off-terrain, etc.) combined. Million people are killed on the world's roads each year. Unfortunately it includes school children as well. Is it really that hard to ensure safety in school areas? Why youngsters have to suffer because of lausy drivers? School children have been in great danger since there have been cars but it has grown throught time because of the big number of drivers. The more there are people, the more there are drivers, the more are cars and the biggers is the possibility of accidents.

That shows that he was indeed a very clever man, he saw everything coming and thought ahead. He was very assured and he knew, what he was doing, he had it all figured out on his mind. He was, as a human, actually quite nice to some people, but he could not let anyone to interrupt his task, otherwise he killed them. The Jackal had to make many difficult decisions during the hunt, what were a matter of life and death and he always chose the one, which let him live. I think that in his private life he was very handsome and gentlemanlike. He tried not to link his private life and work, but in one case he did and that nearly cost his life. The Jackal's personality was doubled - first was what he was like at work and the other in his normal life, the last one is based on my opinion. He was very

their prey. They once roamed in most of the open area of Africa, in the grasslands of India, southern Russia, Iran, and Pakistan. Today, however, most cheetahs are found natively only in eastern and southern Africa. In fact, almost all are raised on commercial farms. Of all the big cats, cheetahs have the least strength. As a result, cheetah cubs are killed by larger predators like the lion and hyena. Up to 80% of the cubs are killed by lions. The cheetah compensates for this by having many offspring. For the cubs that survive, the life span is up to 12 years. Female cheetahs typically live alone and are not territorial. Males form coalitions of 2 to 4 members. This helps them defend territories for hunting and mating. Fierce fights can occur between rival coalitions as a result of a territorial dispute. Young cubs stay with their mother, who raises them by herself for the first 18 months. She then leaves

Books are not absolutely dead things

The thing what changes everything, is the content of the book. There may be a lot of rubbish between the covers, but also intriguing stories. The book is a good way of expressing your thoughts and feelings. And the positive side is, that you do not have to speak. You put your thoughts on the paper and just publish it. But publishing may sometimes make a lot of trouble. Books have caused big conflicts. From the past, we know a lot of cases, in which the books have been burnt and the writers been killed. That shows clearly, that books are not absolutely dead things. But I think that, no one should be killed or punished because of expressing their thoughts. If people criticise and say negative arguments about something, then it is clear, that something is wrong and must be changed. But we know that many of us do not endure criticism and therefore punish them, who actually want good. Definitely, one of the positive argument is, that reading of any book does not make us dumber.

Palm oil

A large proportion of palm oil expansion occurs at the expense of biodiversity and ecosystems in the countries it is produced. Currently, a third of all mammal species in Indonesia are considered to be critically endangered as a consequence of this unsustainable development that is rapidly encroaching on their habitat. There are over 300,000 different animals found throughout the jungles of Borneo and Sumatra, many of which are injured, killed and displaced during deforestation. In addition, palm oil development increases accessibility of animals to poachers and wildlife smugglers who capture and sell wildlife as pets, use them for medicinal purposes or kill them for their body parts. The destruction of rainforests in Borneo and Sumatra is therefore not only a conservation emergency, but a major animal welfare crisis as well. Wildlife such as orangutans have been found buried alive, killed from machete attacks,

) Present Perfect Simple Used to talk about finished actions in an unfinished time period. I have eaten three cookies today (the cookies are finished but today isn't). I have cleaned my room this morning (the cleaning is finished, but it's still morning). Often the time period isn't mentioned. That means that it's the lifetime of the speaker. I have travelled to Europe (in my life). If the person is dead we can't use Present Perfect. Hitler has killed killed many people. (Hitler's time period is finished, so Past Simple must be used) Used with just, already, yet, ever, never. I've just finished my work. I've already walked the dog. He hasn't done his homework yet. Have you ever seen a dragon? I've never hurt anybody. Used to talk about an action in the past when you can see the result now. Oh, you've had a haircut. Used with "It's the first/second/third/etc. time"

Capital punishment should to be abolished

Capital punishment is a form of punishment where a person's life is taken. This is one of the most controversial topics today. People are either favour or against it. Firstly capital punishment saves money compared to the alternative of life in prison because criminals deserve to die, not stay in jail and live comfortable life. Also when a killer stays in prison he takes up space in already over crowed prisons. Secondly it might prevent the fact that people who have killed someone before, would probably to it again. Because killer`s point of view does not change. Finally it would reassure the people close to the victim it would not happen again. Also it gives them the feeling that the death has been avenged. A family will feel less pain if the killer dies. In my opinion capital punishment should not be abolished, because if someone has committed a major crime such as rape, torture or murder deserves basically the same. I think we should
