The 'quality' papers are printed on large papers, have an undramatic layout and are serious in tone. They have editorials which comment on important issues and reflect the political views of the editor. They are more expensive than tabloids. Examples of the quality dailies are The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Independent and the Financial Times. People choose a paper that reflects their own political opinion. The popular press is mainly represented by papers founded after the launching day of the Daily Mail in 1896. Today such papers are largely tabloid. 'Tabloid' is a term, used for substances which were compressed into pills. The tabloids 'compress' the news and are printed on small sheets of paper. They contain sensational stories, using techniques such as very large headlines and photographs. Tabloids do not contain much serious news, but offer plenty of sport and 'human interest' plus a bit of 'scandal'
Simple Plan is a French Canadian pop punk band. It consists of five members: Jeff Stinco, who plays the lead guitar, Chuck Comeau, who plays the drums, Pierre Bouvier, who is the lead vocals and plays occasional guitar, Sebastien Lefebvre, who is the vocals and plays the rhythm guitar and David Desrosiers, who is the vocals and plays the bass guitar. The history of the band began already in 1993, when two 13-year-old boys from Montreal, Pierre and Chuck, founded a band named Reset with two other guys. The band performed all over Canada with other punk bands and their first album was released in 1997. Chuck soon left from the band because of college and founded another band with David, Sebastien and Jeff. When Pierre again joined that band as a lead vocalist, Simple Plan was formed. They recorded only a few demos, when they got a contract with Lava Records. They gained a lot of attention with their first hit "I'm Just a Kid".

On 8th January 1990 the first recently purchased ship by Tallink made its first voyage. A ship called Transestonia was the first ship to sail with an Estonian flag. In 1996 the leading crew of the company changed. The previous leading crew had been experienced captains. The new crew was more into marketing and saving. Laikmaa discovered early his interest in painting. He studied from 1891 to 1893 and 1896/97 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. From 1897 to 1899 he was working in Düsseldorf. In autumn of 1899 he returned back to Tallinn. From 1900 to 1907 Laikmaa worked as an artist in Tallinn and Haapsalu. Study led him to Belgium, France, Austria, Finland and the Netherlands. 1901 he organized the first ever Estonian art exhibition in Tallinn, 1906 followed by the first art exhibition in Tartu. 1903, he founded a studio in Tallinn. 1907 he founded the Estonian Art Association (Eesti Kunstiselts). In 1904 the 38-year-old Laikmaa met the great love of his life, the 21-year-old Marie Hacker, who later changed her name to Marie Under, one of the best-known poets of the time. In the same year he painted two portraits of her, counted as the most famous of Laikmaa paintings. From 1907 to 1909 he was mainly in Finland. 1909 to 1913 he traveled to the major art cities in Europe.
