Are you experienced- book review

By William Sutcliffe Have you ever thought about backpackers and what makes them go to such a nerve-racking trip? Or do they regret leaving modern life behind and packing it up to find themselves in 3 rd world countries? I had thought about it before, however newer as thoroughly as William Sutcliffes novel made me think. The author writes about the struggles and triumphs in adjusting to major environmental changes and issues with other travellers that appear in every other backpackers journey. The book is entertaining though it’s full of problems that the 3 rd world has and it highlights them in almost unnoticeable ways. “Are you experienced “ draws attention to food and water problems that are common in India. There were many detailed descriptions of diseases and parasites, they were rather disgusting. Even the thought of the situation where locals can’t drink tap water or they even don’t have running water in house makes reader as me aware of

Christopher Columbus

He also sailed to Bristol and Galway. Many people believed that he had also sailed to the north of Iceland in 1477. During those visits Columbus heard stories about life to the west of Europe. His ambition to find the shortest and safest sea route to the riches of the Far East started to grow. Gradually he worked out his plan to reach the East by sailing west. In 1482 Columbus tried to interest the Portugese king, Joao III, in his journey. The Portugese king had tried to find a route to the Indies from the east for a long time. Columbus explained that he believed he could reach the Indies from the west. In 1483 the Portugese king told Columbus that he would not pay for the journey because he did not believe that Columbus could find the Indies from the west. Columbus decided to ask the joint rulers of Spain, King Ferdinand of Aragon and Queen Isabella of Castille, if they would pay for the journey. They met Columbus and

The Life of Dante, the Inferno of Dante

order. Among his works, his reputation rests on his last work, The Divine Comedy. He began writing it somewhere between 1307-1314 and finished it only a short while before his death in 1321, while in exile. In this work, Dante introduces his invention of the terza rima, or three-line stanza as well as himself as a character. The Inferno is the first of three parts of Dante's epic poem, The Divine Comedy, which depicts an imaginary journey through Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise. Dante is the hero, who loses his way in the "dark woods" and journeys to nine regions arranged around the wall of a huge funnel in nine concentric circles representing Hell. He is led by the ghost of Virgil, the Roman poet, who has come to rescue Dante from the dark forest and lead him through the realms of the afterlife. The first circle they enter is Limbo, which consists of heathen and the unbaptized, who led decent lives

"We're the Millers"

Helms. It was released in the U.S. on August 7, 2013. David is a drug dealer. He is unable to pay his depth to his boss. So his boss offers him to go to Mexico and get some marijuana for him. It is going to be difficult to get across the border. David decides to pose as a family man. He collects four different people together. They all pretend like they are on family vacation. Their trip is harder than expected and they have a lot of troubles in their journey. This is a great movie when you want to watch something light and funny. It is a good comedy. I loved the characters and the story line of the film. "We're the Millers" made me laugh to tears. This is not the film what makes you think deeply about the life but it is a good film for a long car journey. This film showed me how four totally different persons can grow real family and the importance of reliability.

"The Game" - Neil Strauss

Not only does this book take a fascinating look into the many methods of gaining women's attention--and phone numbers--but describes in detail the characters who make up this "society of pick-up artists", as well. It's not a lesson-by-lesson book detailing "forbidden" methods of "tricking" women into going to bed with you. It's actually more of one man's personal number of frustrations and victories of dealing with women.Strauss learns his own lessons. It's a description of one man's journey from master loser, to master seductor. It all starts with Styles account of growing up "far from attractive," and far from satisfied with his sex life. All it took to change that was a call from a book editor, asking Strauss to take the mysterious "Layguide" that existed on the Internet, and turn it into a " how-to book". Through hesitation, Strauss finds himself curious. While investigating this patchwork of notes on how

Complaint letter

On the worst day the train was 1 hour and 20 minutes late. Therefore I missed two classes in addition to numerous delays and loss of nerves. Although I understand that the weather conditions last week were extremely complicated the deferments should have been prevented, because that is quite predictable especially in October. As you have proposed in your information leaflet, which I picked up from the station, I require the vouchers to the value of fifty per cent of my journey. Additionally I would be grateful, if you compensated both of the missed classes for me. Yours sincerely,

Narrative-story

Rest of the group standing few hundred meters away from me were punks. I mean literally punk people with their weird hairstyles and entirely dressed in black. They seemed so terryfing to me. Few of them noticed me standing here and they gave me smirky smiles. That scared me even more. How the hell am I supposed to enjoy this trip with these guys? I started walking slowly towards them, thinking that maybe I should turn around and not go to this trip. But I payed so much money and waited for this journey for so long. I reached the group and I was shaking a little. But you know what? They turned out to be the nicest and friendliest people and I had the best trip ever with them. That’s why there is a saying that don’t judge a book by it’s cover- so basically don’t judge people by their appearance.

Academic success in my culture

Academic success in my culture: the most important factors Stanislav Stõkov MASB11 Academic success is determined by a wide range of factors. For some students, they may not have all of the perfect components, but they rise above their difficulties to have success. Whether a student is gifted academically or not, an important factor is personal determination. Students, who invest more of their free time in their studies and make more effort in lectures than their peers, generally have higher levels of academic achievement. A key component to success is a student's work ethic. Students who are willing to put extra hours in to study and prepare for classes and presentations tend to improve their skills and academic abilities. Students, who take less challenging classes or are satisfied with less work, often will have the result of average academic success. As mu...

How to Make Tourism in Tallinn Profitable

In Estonia it is also developed really largely. First of all, the main what attracts people abroad are journeys. People want to widen their outlook. Tallinn is the right place for tourists who want to get know about the medieval life in Europe. Here are such attractions as the Medieval Old Town, Kadriorg Park and Rusalka monument. These are the main places people usually want to visit. So, we must develop our tourism system. For example, make up some journey programmes with elements of the Estonian tales. That certainly attracts much more tourists in Tallinn. Moreover, Tallinn has the good benefit in its geographical location. Estonia is like a bridge or gate between Europe and Russia. And Tallinn is the heart of Estonia its capital. Estonians could get some profits from such situation, but for some unknown reasons they did not do that still. The only thing we need to solve this question - is to get on well with Russia. Our two

Sven Hedin, rootsi maadeavastaja

Selle asemel suundus ta Ladakh'i, mille pealinna Leh'i jõudis 20. detsembril 1901. [5] Reisi rohked maateadlikud tulemused on esitatud suures 6- köitelises teoses ,,Scientistic results of a journey in Central Asia 1899-1902", mille väljaandmiseks Rootsi riigipäev määras 75 00 krooni. [1] 16. Oktoobril 1905 suubus Hedin oma kolmandale suurele reisile, Armeenia ja Pärsia kaudu Indiasse, eesmärgiga selgitada Induse ja Brahmaputra jõgede allikate küsimust Himaalaja mäestikus. Suure karavaniga lahkus ta 14. augustil 1906. aastal Leh'ist ja peale mitmesuunalisi rännakuid Lõuna-Tiibeti mäestikes jõudis tagasi Simla'sse 15. septembril 1918 ja kodumaale 17. jaanuaril 1909

The Zahir Paulo Coelho

Book review The Zahir Paulo Coelho 2005 331 pages Novel The novel is set in Paris and Kazakhstan. A renowed author discovers that his wife, Esther, has suddenly dissapeared leaving no trace. He gets obsessed of meeting his wife again. During the search of his wife, he meets Mikhail. The author learns the meaning of love, the power of destiny and what it means to follow your heart. During his journey, he is a completely different man. Finally he meets his wife, but everything has changed. I really enjoyed reading this book, because it was really instructive. The story was full of lessons and ethical matters to use in life. I am completely in love with the author, because he doesn't just tell the story, but keeps you thinking about it, and speaks with the readers through the words. I usually enjoy more books with action, but this book is one of the best novels I've read.
