Tolerance and Diversity
Nowadays people are cautious and like to be independent to choose who they want to be acquainted with. The origin of a person is usually top priority . However , some people do not care where their friends are from and what the colour of their skin is.
“Tolerance” is a noun with profound meaning . It has been built on an individual opinion, on the influence of friends and how the society affects people. Human nature is one-sided, because they believe in exact stereotypes of people and try to follow them . Many characteristics are also immediately being added to the person’s characteristics according to its origin . It is better if you never evaluate anything by its appearance in order not to come to the wrong conclusion.
People are very easily affected . Media and television are the main influencers. People today just watch television, read newspapers , magazines and take almost everything they say very seriously. Sometimes it seems that people’s brains have been paralyzed by the media. They are not able to think themselves, which leads them to stereotypes created by mass media.
Today young people are more tolerant than the elder ones . They don’t have stereotypes of people built in their mind. In addition they are not influenced by elder’s opinions . Elder people do not agree with the fact that their daughter or son might get married to a representative of another race. However young people would say that love is blind and so is friendship .
Diversity is related to tolerance. Countries with rich diversity also do not have a tolerance problem. However, small countries with only one or two nationalities can be the centre of such problem. The people in these countries do not have any experiences with other origin folk, because they aren ’t accustomed to it. When they see, for example, a black-skinned person they start whispering. The situation may be uncomfortable for a dark -skinned people.
However, people who are being brought up in countries with wide diversity, are much more tolerant than people who are not. They meet different origins and skin colours while they grow up. They are used to the diversity of the society — their friends and relatives maybe of another origin.
Diversity joins the cultures of people of different origin. Different cultures make the country multifarious and unite the human beings. They can introduce their customs and culture to their fellow countrymen and in the course of time the cultures blend and become one. Yet, this new type of culture has influences on both original cultures. So everybody wins from “diversity’’ and receives a new cultural experience .
Different people have dissimilar religion . They believe according to their beliefs . Usually people follow their religion and do not tolerate other beliefs. Such behavior may cause conflicts between the people with different religions, but tolerance is the keyword to avoid conflicts. Equality also plays a huge role in life, because everyone has a free choice to believe in everything they want.
To have a better society we must be more tolerant. We shouldn’t assume anything before not knowing the person. Only after getting accustomed to the individual we can make our decisions . People’s opinion about different origins should be developed and improved in order to have a friendly and peaceful world. Drawing people’s attention on them should be history and multinational countries our future.

Tolerance and diversity

Tolerance and diversity Tolerance is a very important issue for the people all over the world. Sadly the lack of it has influenced us more than the existence. On the other hand people have always liked the diversity of this world. For example, we can't imagine life without our Chinese food, Italian pasta and especially McDonalds , can we? We have to admit that it would be very unpleasant without simple things like these so is it so hard for us to cope with different types of people? We live our lives differently and see the world in different ways, everyone use words that they feel like using , but in the end we are all trying to answer the same question. There is no such thing as the correctness of one people with his religion because each and every one of us thinks that the one he believes is the only real. You do not have to like the same food, dress the same way or listen to the same music as your friends do. But always be opened to get to know about

Today the human population will increase by 250,000. And today we will add 2,700 tons of chlorofluorocarbons to the atmosphere and 15 million tons of carbon. Tonight the Earth will be a little hotter, its waters more acidic, and the fabric of life more threadbare. The truth is that many things on which your future health and prosperity depend are in dire jeopardy: climate stability, the resilience and productivity of natural systems, the beauty of the natural world, and biological diversity. It is worth noting that this is not the work of ignorant people. It is, rather, largely the result of work by people with BAs, BSs, LLBs, MBAs, and PhDs. Elie Wiesel made a similar point to the Global Forum in Moscow last winter when he said that the designers and perpetrators of the Holocaust were the heirs of Kant and Goethe. In most respects the Germans were the best educated people on Earth, but their education did not serve as an adequate barrier to barbarity

PSYCHOLOGY PART 1: CORE Biological level of analysis Outline principles that define the biological level of analysis. 1) Behavior can be innate, because it is genetically based. Evolution may play a key role in behavior. 2) Animals may be studied as a means of understanding human behavior. 3) There are biological correlates of behavior. Cognitions, emotions and behaviors are products of the anatomy and physiology of our nervous and endocrine system. Explain how principles of the biological level of analysis may be demonstrated in research. 1) Correlational studies: Study by Buss, who hypothesized that across cultures, men will prefer to marry younger women because of greater reproductive capacity and women will place greater value on a potential mate's earning potential to provide survival advantages. This evolutionary hypothesis was tested in 37 cultures by sending out questioners. 2) Twin studies (type of correlational stud

Mass Media What is Mass Media? Statistics show that there are few things which impact the human mind more than mass media. The advice of teachers, parents and relatives may fall on deaf ears, but the mass media influence holds us all spellbound! At this point, it becomes necessary to define mass media. Mass media may be defined as any form of communication which is meted out to the people at large, through the various forms of communication. What modes of communication are we talking about? Well there can be no static definition for the channels of mass communication as they are increasing all the time. But any form of communication which is seen and understood by a large mass of people can be taken to mean mass communication or mass media channels. Why is mass media so attractive to people? Mass media holds a kind of mystique in the minds of the people. It is because the communication is designed in such a way that it appeals to a larger demographic

shared political rights, and allegiance to similar political procedures.[40] According to the principles of civic nationalism, the nation is not based on common ethnic ancestry, but is a political entity whose core identity is not ethnicity. Its people to continue living together.[40] Civic nationalism is a kind of non-xenophobic nationalism that is claimed to be compatible with liberal values of freedom, tolerance, equality, and individual rights.[41][42][43] Ernest Renan[44] and John Stuart Mill[45] are often thought to be early liberal nationalists. Liberal nationalists often defend the value of national identity by saying that individuals need a national identity in order to lead meaningful, autonomous lives,[46][47] and that liberal democratic polities need national identity in order to function properly.[48][49] 48

Challenges of childrens participation A Case Study of active citizenship in Cadle Primary School

33 Purdy is convinced that by giving children equal rights `they are less likely to develop virtues and self-control upon which they depend. If children do not develop such virtues, they live less satisfying lives and there seems little hope of a better world`.34 Prudy concludes by arguing that only strict parental control combined with warmth and affluence of meaningful adult models enable children to become competent social actors who have a clear understanding of the `meaning of tolerance, cooperation, and compassion`.35 The proponents of children`s rights on the other hand, strongly disagree with the idea that children are morally incompetent and need time to develop a clear moral understandings of right and wrong.36 Over the past two decades, increasingly new kind of work and research has been done in the sociology of childhood which `explores how children and young people see the world, their values and priorities and the ways in which they feel themselves marginalized`37

Tolerance and Diversity essay

Tolerance and Diversity Janne Susi In today's world, the coexistence of different cultures is one of the most vital developments. Furthermore, the principles of tolerance and peaceful coexistence of different nations have often been underlined by the representatives of the European Union. The same ideas have lately been spreading in the Baltic countries. So, what are the main dangers to the tolerance and friendly coexistence in these countries? There are several phenomena which counteract the successful coexistence and integration of people from different cultural backgrounds. First and foremost, both coexistence and integration require a high level of tolerance from all those involved. Here, the major obstacle is often xenophobia which may be caused by a wide range of factors. As a rule, xenophobia occurs in big, mostly mono-cultural societies, where strangers are
