Essee "A hobby - waste of time?"

A hobby waste of time? Essay Many people think that hobbies are waste of time and waste of money. A lot of people have their own hobby some of them like it and some of them don't like their hobby. I think if you don't like your hobby, then it's a waste of time. In addition, hobbies can be very different- some people make music, some people do sports, some are collecting marks or something. In my opinion there are some hobbies what are totally waste of time. Like playing video games. They steal you free time and don't give you anything, maybe only bad eyesight. Hobbies like basketball, football, running are very good, it gives you something good body or gives strenght to live, work for something.

Reasons why people work

As Leonardo da Vinci said " God sells us all things at the price of labour " and unfortunately it tends to be true. However, there are still some of the other reason why people work. As Mothet Teresa said " Work without love is slavery" and fortunately there are many people in world who work because they love what they do. For example artists, musicians and actors do not earn a lot of money, however they can give the world something we need- entertainment. In addition to musicians, actors, and artists there are many other sincere, thoughtful and open-minded people who find time in addition to their daily work to help those who need help giving food to homeless people, helping children who are left without parents and taking care for the animals in the shelter. These people are doing this without getting any charge but they believe that what goes around come back around.

Are student organizations beneficial for students?

Are student organizations beneficial for students? Student organizations are always been quite popular among students. There are lots of benefits participating in the organizations, but some drawbacks as well. It is clear that student organizations are beneficial for students. Firstly, it helps students to find out their interests, which helps them in the future, when they are choosing suitable profession. It is always better when you already have some imagination of the job. In addition, organizations give new skills and knowledge. Secondly, it connects people with same interests, which leads to a more active social life. It seems that right connections are even more important, when it comes to finding a job, than education. Another relevant point is that nowadays you have to know how to work in a group and student organizations are excellent places to practise it. It must also be noted that good ideas come more easily in a group

Studying abroad

In my opinion, people who are going study abroad have many advantages. However, it definitely has a negative sides. On the one hand, studying abroad is new experience and motivating, but on the other hand it can be distracting. Firstly, studying abroad give to people more experience and philosophy of life. Compared to the situation one hundred years ago, studying abroad is broadly spread all over the world. Moreover, travel is easier and convenient. In addition, studying abroad has become more and more popular. In my opinion it is the most useful way to learn a new language and you have advantage to be independent. In addition, you got new friends and habits. All of this is new and interesting. Secondly, studying abroad give you more practice. You need it for communication and understanding. You can practice your language, also you can learn different cultures of countries. Nevertheless, studying abroad has also negative sides

Life in Estonia through the eyes of an economics student

With a population of 1 313 271 people, Estonia is one of the least populous member states of the European Union. However, according to the IMF, it is a developed country with an advanced and high-income economy. Estonia follows market economy system which ensures the little government intervention and the determination of prices of goods and services in a free price system. Therefore, economic decisions are guided solely by the aggregate interactions of a country's citizens and businesses. In addition to mentioned afore, Estonia tends to perform favourably in measurements of civil liberties, education, and press freedom. Living in Estonia has many of its good sides, for instance it is a secure place from nature disasters and it has a beautiful nature. Although, when not to look only through rose-tinted glasses, there are still some minuses in country’s organization. So, what are the beneficial and negative sides of living in Estonia?

I chose this topic because I am an infotechnology student and also I have been rally driver since 2009. I believed this could be interesting topic for others to hear because you can’t really find much information about the technologies used in different motorsport disciplines from the Internet but you can learn about them usually when somebody tells you about those technologies. Because I’m a rally driver and I know most about rallying I focused on rally and in addition talked little bit about Formula One and also about simulators. Most of the information I used to make this presentation was based on my personal experience. In addition, I found some interesting technologies which are used in Formula One from the Internet. Most interesting hi-tech solutions used in rally are in my opinion ride height control with GPS and launch control which is synced with start clock. First means that the height of a car’s

My analysis of the article “ Why Ebola is so dangerous”

Ebola, what are it's symptoms, and how it spreads. People have to be aware that it is very dangerous, deadly and easily spreading disease. Let's hope that scientists will work out a vaccine that helps to treat the ones with Ebola. The author used some expressions that I think are common to journalism. I have heard those expressions in news, read in newspapers and magazines For example, in some cases; as more than; although; to avoid; to get across; in addition to; such as; including. These expressions are important because they make an article more understandable and easier to read. It gives colour to an article. From the lecture "Organizing text" the author has used following expressions: as more than; which; through; with; by; although; so far; as long as; such as; to avoid; in the way; in addition to; so. These words are in the text to diverse it and make it more understandable. The structure of the article is divided with subtitles

Big sell, tiny targets Manufacturers use information about children's leisure activities to target them in many ways. They are targeting children at a very young age. Companies advertise products on children's television. Many of these ads are for foods and drinks, which are not particulary good for children. In addition, the packages in supermarkets that include logos or cartoon characters are attracting children. Marketing targets children at a very impressionable age. Although each parent should monitor what their children eat, drink or play with, big companies are still exploiting children for their own well-being Marko Kostap

Inglise keel: Letter of complaint

4) Hea väärtusega Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to complain about the holiday apartment I rented from you on 15August. I believe your advertisement was misleading in a number of ways. Firstly, the apartment was by no means spacious. The rooms were cramped and there was very little storage space. Also, the distance from the beach was in fact ten times farther than you claimed. Furthermore, the balcony railing was broken. This was quite dangerous and could have caused an accident. In addition, it overlooked an unattractive car park in contrast to the `great view' you advertised. Finally, the kitchen was poorly equipped and a lot of essential items were missing, such as plates and saucepans. Consequently, I felt I could not stay any longer and returned home after three days. As you can imagine, I am quite disappointed. I feel I am entitled to a partial refund in addition to an apology for the inconvenience caused. I look forward to receiving a prompt reply. First of all, the on/off button is broken and does not let me open my phone. The screen colour of the device was also unacceptably almost black and white. In addition to this, the sound was a little bit off and I could no adjust it in the settings. For some reason I also could not see my messeages at all. No only the screen was borken, the camera was not working either. I suggest that you explain all that, replace the item or give me a full refund. I look foward to receiving your explanation. Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to you to express my annoyance at the supreme quality of service that was promised but never delivered. I am talking about the intensive 4-wekk language course provided by you, International Language Centre. First things first the "highly qualified staff" had a terrible sense of time and always arrived late. Not to mention their insufficient language level, which I found quite displeasing. In addition to that, the provided free course materials were in reality just old and used textbooks and the desks were just way too small to work on, and the classes had no heating, which were quite cold in the mornings. Also you advertised small study groups, but the fact that there were over a dozen people in class determined that it was a lie. Synthesis of Ibuprofen

Found in almost every tissue in human They are derived enzymatically from fatty acids They bring out inflammatory response Ibuprofen's action as a painkiller and fever-reducing compound is due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins It does this by interfering with the action of an enzyme called cyclooxygenase which catalyzes the conversion of a compound called arachidonic acid into prostaglandins 4 step Ibuprofen synthesis First step: Nucleophilic addition Reduction of the carbonyl group C=O by sodium tetrahydridoborate produces a secondary alcohol group CHOH. What would i change if i were minister of education.

Many people think that our school system is out of date and we should make it more modern. Even teachers and students say that some changes need to be made. Maybe our government should consultate more with poeple who know the real situtation, when they create new laws. If I were minister of education I would deffenetly prefere American educational system to Russian. Our children should do more practical exercises in school and develop creative thinking. In addition to that I would give more money to our schools and raise also teatchers salary. This would boost up their motivation to give quality education to our children. Also i would invite more exchange students into our schools and send our children more often to learn in foreign countrys. The last thing I would change is the amount of the final exams. I would change all school exams into national exams. I hope that the new generation make necessary changes and my children get more modern and

Whereas all my classes in London start at 10 o'clock sharp and I do not want to be late because I have paid for these I always check the schedule for the most convenient choice of train. Nevertheless last week all my journeys to my course delayed. On the worst day the train was 1 hour and 20 minutes late. Although I understand that the weather conditions last week were extremely complicated the deferments should have been prevented, because that is quite predictable especially in October. As you have proposed in your information leaflet, which I picked up from the station, I require the vouchers to the value of fifty per cent of my journey. Additionally I would be grateful, if you compensated both of the missed classes for me.

Pros and Cons of School Uniforms

In the first place, school uniforms help to prevent violence in school territory, for example uniforms can prevent gangs from forming on campus and identify intruders in the school yard. Secondly, school uniforms increase a sense of belonging and school pride. It encourages discipline, lessens economic and social barriers between students. Besides that there is no need to spend money on trendy clothes. Thirdly, school uniforms make students a target for bullies from other schools. In addition to that, uniforms give students no freedom of expression. Last but not least, school uniforms are an unfair additional expense for parents and besides that a financial burden for poor families. To sum up, it can be said that school uniforms have both good and bad sides. In my opinion, school uniforms are rather beneficial because they protect students from intruders and bullies and lessen barriers between students. Merit Vislapu 11R

Formal Letter

Dear Sir or Madam, I just returned from my holiday, which was not what we were looking for. There were some problems I want to talk about, which was not mention in brochure. Firstly, when we arrived at the airport, there were not any coach waiting for us but brochure said that transfer was included. Because of that we had to take a taxi and it was very expensive. What is more, the beach was far from hotel which was unpleasant surprise. In addition, entire resort was crowded and very noisy but travel agent described it as quiet and peaceful area. Last but not least, our hotel room was tiny and not comfortable for three people to live in, it was dirty also. Furthermore, towels were dirty during our two weeks holiday. In conclusion, I think the travel agent should offer some compensation for us, because of false information in brochure and bad service in hotel. I am looking forward receiving your reply

working as a doctor

To begin with, doctors are rarely out of work because there is always a demand for people to treat the sick or injured. Furthermore, it is a rewarding job because they help sick or injured people to recover. On the other hand, there are also a number of disadvantages to being a doctor. Firstly, it is a tiring job because they work shifts and often work at night. For example, they must always prepared to deal with any number of situations tat may arise. In addition, they often see people suffering. To conclude, I belive that, altough being a doctor can be difficult at times, it is worth it. It is rewarding job to help people who are sick or injured.

How can we increase the quality of breathable air? Essee

How can we increase the quality of breathable air? “I’ll go out for a breath of fresh air” is an often-heard phrase. But how many of us realize that this has become irrelevant in today’s world? Air pollution is the addition of any harmful substances to the atmosphere, which causes the damaging of the environment, human health and the quality of life. Firstly, we should use green methods of powering like wind energy and landfill gas energy. This would reduce the amount of harmful gases. Another useful suggestion would be to plant trees. In this way we can increase the source of breathable oxygen. Unfortunately, many companies are contributing to deforestation.

Letter of enquiry

I am writing in connection with your advertisement in yesterday's Post. It was about your company looking retailers for your products. At the moment our company is in search for new suppliers, therefore we might be interested in selling some of your products in our shops in France. As the advertisement was rather brief, we have some questions about the possible business arrangement. The main concern is about your price range. We would be very grateful when you could send us the price list. In addition, it would be nice, when you could add the list of products and their qualities. Our company has eight stores in France, so our orders could be quite big. Thus we would appreciate if you could advise us of your terms of payment and any discount available. The last thing we are interested in is your delivery policy. We need to be sure that you can deliver our order in two months time. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours sincerely, SIGNATURE J.F.Morreau

THE EFFECT OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA ON YOUNG PEOPLE

can inhibit the development of young people and also make children act impulsively and inappropriately. The violence on TV is the main issue that parents are worried about, as violence has a numbing effect on emotions. Moreover, young people can accept violence as the way of solving problems. I believe, that parents should properly control, what their children watch on TV and how long. In my opinion, there should be certain rules for children concerning the media. In addition to that, parents should talk to young people and explain why certain programs are bad or good.

Endangered Animals

Every year, more and more animals are facing extinction. In order to protect endangered species, what can we about this problem? One way of solving the problem is to protect wildlife habitats as the best way to protect endangered species is to protect the places they live in. In addition to this, wildlife must have a place to find food and shelter from the weather. Logging, oil and gas drilling, over-grazing and real estate development have all resulted in the destruction of these habitats, which must be minimized as much as possible. Another way to solve the problem is to stop buying products that are made from animal skin. The lack of demand would result in hunters being unable to continue their business. Finally, it is important to pay attention when driving
