PSYCHOLOGY PART 1: CORE Biological level of analysis Outline principles that define the biological level of analysis. 1) Behavior can be innate, because it is genetically based. Evolution may play a key role in behavior. 2) Animals may be studied as a means of understanding human behavior. 3) There are biological correlates of behavior. Cognitions, emotions and behaviors are products of the anatomy and physiology of our nervous and endocrine system. Explain how principles of the biological level of analysis may be demonstrated in research. 1) Correlational studies: Study by Buss, who hypothesized that across cultures, men will prefer to marry younger women because of greater reproductive capacity and women will place greater value on a potential mate's earning
the public opinion and, furthermore, it has the power to influence the formation of an individual’s identity. In such a situation, television violence has a particularly significant and dangerous impact on the viewers, especially youth, whose identity, moral values and beliefs are in the process of formation. Young people often perceive celebrities they see on TV and imaginary characters they see in movies as models for their own behavior. Children usually want to be soldiers or gangsters. As a result, they attempt to follow their lead, which often leads to the development of negative models of behavior. Also, some people think that fighting scenes, explosions, shooting scenes and other violent elements of movies are so awesome and they also want to spice up their lives and do something “cool”. The impact of TV violence may be immediately evident in a child’s behavior or

Many people are born with a some kind of talent. Money can certainly advance your skills by buying music lessons or coaching sessions, but money cannot buy a talent. People can learn to do certain things well by taking lessons but the true gift to do it well can't be bought. Even after years of lessons you can't really play piano or sing as well a person who have the real talent from birth. Money doesn't confer good behavior. There are many rich people who are rude and with no manners but also there are plenty of poor people who demonstrate perfect manners and respect for others. The amount of money you have doesn't show if you behave well or poorly. Manners and classy behavior are not bought, they are taught and practiced by parents who want their children to be decent and well-mannered. Money can buy you entry into a better class position, but it cannot make you behave as you should.
Effective communication with people of different cultures is especially challenging. Cultures provide people with ways of thinking--ways of seeing, hearing, and interpreting the world. The same words can mean different things to people from different cultures, even when they talk the "same" language. When the languages are different, and translation has to be used to communicate, the potential for misunderstandings increases. Second are "behavior constraints." Each culture has its own rules about proper behavior which affect verbal and nonverbal communication. Whether one looks the other person in the eye-or not; whether one says what one means overtly or talks around the issue; how close the people stand to each other when they are talking--all of these and many more are rules of politeness which differ from culture to culture. Third factor is "emotional constraints." Different cultures regulate the display of emotion differently

The term "addiction" is used in many contexts to describe an obsession, compulsion, or excessive physical depence or psychological dependence, such as: drug addiction, video games, crime, alcoholism, compulsive overeating, problem gambling, computer addiction, pornography, etc. Drug addiction Drug addiction is widely considered a pathological state. The disorder of addiction involves the progression of acute drug use to the development of drug-seeking behavior, the vulnerability to relapse, and the decreased, slowed ability to respond to naturally rewarding stimuli. Video game addiction Video game addiction, or more broadly video game overuse, is excessive or compulsive use of computer and video games that interferes with daily life. Instances have been reported in which users play compulsively, isolating themselves from, or from other forms of, social contact and focusing almost entirely

basic change from the purely competitive market model. Thedifferentiation of output results in the demand faced by each seller being less than perfectly elastic. · Since there are "many sellers," many substitutes for each seller's output is implied. This suggests that the demand faced by a firm in a monopolistically competitive market is likely more elastic than in a monopoly. The elasticity obviously depends on the preferences and behavior of the buyers. The negative slope of a firm's demand function in imperfect competition results in a different result than in pure competition The conditions of entry and exit to and from a monopolistically competitive market are similar to the purely competitive market; there are no major BTE. · Entry and exit are relatively easy. The relative ease of entry/exit makes the long run results of an imperfectly competitive market different from a monopoly.

uncommunicative has recently been given a new name: pet therapy. It has given difficult children, lonely old people and even anti-social prisoners a completely new outlook on life Even though pet therapy is only now being widely used, it is not a new idea. In the eighteenth century an English doctor, William Tuke, filled the grounds of a hospital for mentally disturbed people with chickens, rabbits and goats. At a time when people were usually punished for strange behavior rather than helped, this was a radical new approach to treating the mentally disturbed. Tuke's idea was that patients could learn self-control by caring for creatures weaker than themselves. This is an idea which has persisted. In New York, horses, cows, cats and dogs were recruited to heal soldiers who had been wounded during World War II. These animals comforted the traumatized and helped the battle-scarred to avoid becoming obsessed with their injuries.

consensus on at least three elements: social conventions of a particular class in a particular time and place The novel of manners is dominated by women--as authors, as subjects, and often as intended audience For example, in Jane Austen's novels there is always "husband-hunting" by female characters. But although the focus of the novel of manners are domestic life, marrige, and social behavior Adherence to good manners in these texts is not only a reliable indicator of one's social standing, but is intended to serve as an indicator of good morals as well. than between family members. With teens, there is always a `rebellious' factor in play, which may make them adapt certain behaviors or ideas from our friends, in order to appease the inner rebel inside of us. Teenagers act according to the norm that is prominent in the group they are apart of. For example, the punk movement will possibly penetrate different groups and to feel apart of the group, teens will also dress accordingly. On the other hand, our parents behavior will have an influence on us, especially in our younger years. The way we are brought up and how our parents communicate with us is directly correlated to our development and later life. While it can be argued that friends will have the strongest influence on each other, one must not forget that we first befriend our family and later on find friends outside of the family circle.

A REVIEW OF BOWEL AND BLADDER CONTROL DEVELOPMENT IN CHILDREN Tallinn Health Care College Aleksandra Sitko Tallinn 2015 UROLOGIC AND GASTROINTESTINAL PROBLEMS Urologic and gastrointestinal problems in children are of great concern to parents. In most cases, such problems represent no organic disease or serious behavior disorder but nevertheless can cause more serious complications in toilet training than parents recognize. CLINICAL TRIALS Clinical experience, however, suggests that in most children these problems can be managed successfully within the realm of general pediatric practice. I think it's a tragedy when a group of obnoxious idiots are allowed to interfere with our daily lives and pursuits. At times, I get some of that noise near my home, and I certainly call the police when I hear offenders in my own neighborhood. My insistence at having them enforce current regulations in my area has made a difference. I am also reviewing our local noise ordinance and speaking with others who are interested in putting an end to this offensive behavior that takes away from our quality of life. When the boom box noise has been controlled in this area, I would be pleased to begin using your store again. I encourage you to work with the local police department to greatly strengthen enforcement of our noise ordinances. You are losing business because of the contant presence of boom cars. Bioloogiline psüholoogia Biopsühholoogia "isaks" loetakse Donald Olding Hebb'i (1904-1985), kelle raamat "Organization of behavior" mängis pöördelist rolli biopsühholoogia arengus. Mis on biopsühholoogia? Bioloogiline psühholoogia ehk biopsühholoogia on teadusharu, mis selgitab inimese käitumist ajus toimuvate keemiliste ja bioloogiliste protsesside abil. Seega kujutab biopsühholoogia endast kahe teadusharu bioloogia ja psühholoogia sulamit. Käitumise kõrgeimaks juhiks on peaaju. Närvisüsteemi moodustavad lisaks peaajule seljaaju ja närvid. The lives of the rich and the famous used to be mysterious and even inexplicable. It was so foreign and artificial a construct that we thought that fame made you special. The rise of reality TV, however, was a major step in the changing nature of celebrity. “Normal people” became stars overnight. The dominance of smartphones and social media has meant that the public records everything: nervous breakdowns, breakups and displays of erratic behavior, and popular celebrities seem to have become beloved for being like us – or at least more photogenic versions of us. These days, celebrity at the most basic level, just simply means “being known” among a group of people and having a certain opinion that others look up to. It also comes with agreeing to give up your privacy to a large extent. The concept of being a celebrity is has been redefined and thus by default this new age celebrity is now more accessible

and poor countries. Currently they don't have to compete with the efficient and skilled Word. They have arranged their own monopolies to make the best financial gains and most comfortable lives. With globalization they would have to work hard to maintain their income and they cannot exploit poor people as they will have better incomes and employment due to globalization and would not have to depend on politicians and governments. This behavior is used mostly in third-word countries and also in China and India.
I personally love to be myself. I love to feel comfort, that I create with clothes, that I wear. I get my hair cut if it limits my view. Although my thoughts I am pushed by my comrades. If I dressed in public as I dress at home, I would definitely be stared! I am not the one, who makes the rules, I follow them! My friends might still know who I really am, but making new friends is difficult or even impossible because of my own "freestyle". Taking care of look belongs to grown-up behavior! Luckily of unfortunately is look the base of communication, servicing and relationships. So, look is important! Who could imagine being served by a little stinky dude, who dresses into informal dirty clothes? I couldn´t. If look was not important, there would not be loads of etiquette rules. What if look would not be important? I do not even have to generate theories. I know people, who do not think about necessity of taking care of their look. I can see them every day.
However, people who grew up in countries with wide diversity, are much more tolerant. They meet different origins and skin colours every day. Different cultures make the country interesting place to live. They can introduce their customs and culture to others and in time the cultures blend and become one. Different people have dissimilar religion. They believe according to their beliefs. Usually people follow their religion and do not tolerate other beliefs. Such behavior may cause conflicts between the people with different religions. Even if we don't have other nations in our country, we'd be affected by the media, so we'll still use English words in our everyday talk and so on.Different nations should accept each others culture, language and traditions. Then it would not be that hard to live side by side. For example, when you have a new neighbour in your home town, who's English,
which all can be a big impact of their lives. Children who consistently spend more than 4 hours per day watching TV are more likely to be overweight. They usually tend to grab a snack while watching TV or even eat their supper or afternoon snack in front of a TV. Of course, television can be educational and teach children something, such as self- defense whilst also teaching them fighting. Nevertheless, kids who view violent acts are more likely to show aggressive behavior but also fear that the world is scary and that something bad will happen to them. TV characters often depict risky behaviors, such as smoking and drinking, and also reinforce gender-role and racial stereotypes. Anyways TV is pointless thing and I don`t suggest it because it ruins our life and makes us FAT!
