Tsunaamid

TSUNAMI Kristjan Sillaots G1R2 WHAT IS TSUNAMI? A tsunami is a series of ocean waves that sends surges of water, sometimes reaching heights of over 100 feet (30.5 meters), onto land. These walls of water can cause widespread destruction when they crash ashore. WHAT CAUSES A TSUNAMI? These awe-inspiring waves are typically caused by large, undersea earthquakes at tectonic plate boundaries. When the ocean floor at a plate boundary rises or falls suddenly, it displaces the water above it and launches the rolling waves that will become a tsunami. WHAT CAUSES A TSUNAMI? Tsunamis may also be caused by underwater landslides or volcanic eruptions

Different nations

Different nations. There has always been a moving and mixing of people, caused by different reasons. As a result of this process people now have mixed cultures and many cultural conflicts. It should be easy and good to live in a town full on different cultures, but it may cause some trouble to. Countries with rich diversity usually do not have a race problem.Small countries with only one or two nationalities can be the centre of such problem. The people in these countries do not have any experiences with other origins people, because they aren't used to it. When they see, for example, a black-skinned person ,they start whispering. However, people who grew up in countries with wide diversity, are much more tolerant. They meet

ALLERGIES

ALLERGIES An allergy is a hypersensitivity disorder of the immune system. Reactions occur when a person's immune system reacts to normally harmless substances in the environment. A substance that causes a reaction is called an allergen The most common allergens include dust mites, molds, pollens, animal dander, cockroaches, peanuts, milk, eggs, latex, and penicillin. The dust mite is the most common cause of allergies. Mild allergies like hay fever are very common in the human population and cause symptoms such as red eyes, itchiness, and runny nose, eczema, hives, or an asthma attack. Food Allergies-what can cause effects like vomiting, stomach upset and hives. Seasonal Allergies what can cause as an example effects like sniffling and sneezing Pet Allergies what cause coughing red itchy eyes runny nose and sneezing As an example from real life there are some people who also have somewhat weird allergies like an allergie for exercise ,money, water or sunlight.

Formal cause: - what form, definition or property it has - why is this salt? because made of sodium and chloride 3. people. It can wipe away farms, trees and many more heavy items. Floods occur at irregular intervals and vary in size, duration and the affected area. It is important to note that water naturally flows from high areas to low lying areas. This means low-lying areas may flood quickly before it begins to get to higher ground. Flooding is extremely dangerous and has the potential to wipe away an entire city, coastline or area, and cause extensive damage to life and property. It also has great erosive power and can be extremely destructive, even if it is a foot high. A tsunami (pronounced sue-nahm-ee) is a series of huge waves that can cause great devastation and loss of life when they strike a coast. Tsunamis are caused by an underwater earthquake, a volcanic eruption, an sub-marine rockslide, or, more rarely, by an asteroid or meteoroid crashing into in the water from space. How global warming will change the way we live in future?

Hello ladies and gentelmans Today I'm going to talk about how global warming will change the way we live in future. In fact durning the twentieth century global temperature went up by over 0,7 Celsius degree. It looks pretty small number but even slight Climate change leads to serious consequences. Firstly, global warming will cause that glaciers start to melt. And as a result, the water level will raise and cities and villages which are located near oceans and sees will be flooded. Secondly, if we don't stop global warming, we will bserve more examples of extreme weather such as heat waves, storm clouds, which may lead to floods, droughts and forest fires. Next conseqences of global warming is that oceans temperature will go up. It is likely that it will cause an increase in activity of hurricanes,

air that we breathe, becomes dangerous to our health. The ozone layer around the Earth, there is a special type of oxygen called ,,ozone". Ozone is important because it stops ultraviolett radiation from the sun. Many aerosol sprays and factories destroy ozone and they have made a very big hole in the ozone layer. This means that too much ultraviolet radiation now enters the Earth. This is very dangerous because it can cause cancer. Poisonous chemicals also cause acid rain, that destroyes plants, rivers, lakes and buildings. Acid rain can travel thousands of miles, so pollution in one country can become acid rain for another country. So how to avoid the worst? Lets talk about cars, which are the main means of transport in our everyday life, they are useful and take us to the place, where we want to go. But lets be honest, they have also negative aspects. Like heavy traffic in the morning, while you are

made halogenated compounds, pesticides, dioxins, chlorinated organic materieals and so on. These compounds are causing deformage in marine animals and are storaged in their fatty tissues. They have also been found in organisms throughout the world oceans because they are dispersed quickly by winds and currents. Another problem that affects the marine life is excess phosphorus and nitrogen flow into the sea from towns, factories and other man-made sources which cause intense algae growth. Algal blooming consumes large amounts of dissolved oxygen and in areas with poorer water exchange the oxygen runs out and living organisms will not survive there. Also, the author points out a problem considering heavy metals which increase the water toxicity. It is estimated that about half of heavy metal inputs to the North and Baltic Seas originate as air pollutants. Heavy metals are indestructible and do not break down. When

There are different types of victims. One of those is the one that ignores all the hate and insulting what comes at him/her. The other one takes it all by heart and seriously. Words can hurt, a lot. Most of the people don't realize what are they causing the victim, when bullying him/her. The worse cause that bullying can cause, is suicide. There is 7% of young people who attempt suicide every year. Nearly 30% of students don't go to school, because they don't want to get bullied. Also one of the worse causes is self-harming. Those, who do self-harm, find it releasing. How do I recognize a bullying victim? The victim is often sad, he/she keeps distance from the others, he's/she's anxious, they have conflicts with their classmates, friends or even family. I have my own experience on bullying

For and Against Mobile Phones essey

internet access, GPS and other useful applications is quite expensive. Secondly, mobile phones have made people lazy. Hardly no-one goes to knock on a door to ask a friend out. Instead they call or send a text message. And of course there are video call, so people don't even have to meet face to face. Most important downside is health hazards. Mobile phones will affect one's hearing. Also it is proven that mobile phones have bad radiation and they may cause cancer. It can be said that mobile phones are useful and make people's life easier. But I think the problems that mobile phones may cause are too serious to avoid and it is healthier to use mobile phones only in a emergency.

we are doing. At this current rate by the middle of next century the Earth's temperature may rise a predicted from 2 to 6 degrees Celsius. This may not seem as much but with the Earth's delicate balance we will have lost several species and habitats. Scientists are worried that soon the effects of what we have done may be irreversible. This temperature increase would drastically affect the growth of many different crops and cause the polar ice caps to melt, therefore increasing sea levels to rise up by several metres. Warmer oceans cause more intense storms. Buildings and roads close to the water will be flooded and they could suffer damage from hurricanes and tropical storms. The effects of a warmer climate may begin to take its toll on people as well. Particularly those who are physically weaker are going to have a harsh life. During the hot summer of 1995, the frightening effects of high temperatures

Essee What does being free mean?

What does "being free" mean? Freedom plays an important role in our everyday life. It is hard to understand what "being free" mean as every person has his own view on it, which depends on our lifestyle and upbringings. There are a lot of kinds of freedom in the modern world. It can affect on people`s life positively as well as may cause different problems. To begin with, there are certain arguments in favour of being free. Firstly, people in developed countries have a freedom of speech. As a result, democratic policy in such regions offers a great opportunity to citizens to have their opinions heard and be considered. Moreover, some people suggest that being free mean material independence. If a man provide himself (materially), he is able to act as he wants to do it.

“What does success come from?”

"What does success come from?" "What does success come from?"is a question that every one wants to know exactly the answer. The first group of people thinks that taking risks or chances is what a person needs to become successful in his life while the second one whom I agree with believes that careful planning is the most important cause of our success in life. Careful planning may be simply considered as preparation that can be understood that one identifies his aim, lists his steps, and does a research if necessary. Analyzing it in that way, we can know why it becomes the most important cause of success. An English saying goes: "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunities". With such a careful plan, I am sure that we will have enough abilities to realize a lot of opportunities and seize them.

Water pollution

Water pollution Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies such as lakes, rivers, oceans, and groundwater caused by human activities, which can be harmful to organisms and plants and for all of us. First, we have to talk about the causes of water pollution. Domestic households, industrial and agricultural practices produce wastewater that can cause pollution of many lakes and rivers. Industry is a huge source of water pollution, it produces pollutants that are extremely harmful to people and the environment. Dumping of litter in the sea can also cause huge problems. Different items take different lengths of time to degrade in water. Oceans are polluted by oil on a daily basis from oil spills, everyday shipping and dumping. Secondly, it is very significant to know about dangers of water pollution.

Carbon capture and storage

Humans are changeing the planet with their ordinary life. The principle cause of climate change is the increase in carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere. The main cause of that is the burning of fossile fuels. This is leading to the global warming. People have discovered a way to reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. It is possible to seperate the CO2 from the other gases by adding liquid which is very good at absorbing CO2. Then it can be pumped to underground. Scientist came up with this idea because methane gas has been down there for thousands of years and it has not come up. So they expect that the CO2 won't be coming up either

Should mercy killing be punished? Mercy killing, also known as euthanasia, refers to the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering. This type of killing is legal in some countries, but should it be punished instead? Although, it is still a type of killing, it is for a good cause. There are people who suffer and want to rather die than to endure agonies, euthanasia is an answer for them. Thus, mercy killing is very humane and reasonable thing to do and does not deserve punishment. The negative aspect of euthanasia is that it is still a form of killing. One should not be in judge over others life, even when it is for a good cause. The fact that euthanasia could be misused is not less important.

Cigarette smoke contains over 4,000 chemicals, including over 50 known carcinogens (causes of cancer) and other poisons. In addition to different kinds of cancer (mouth, nose, throat, larynx, gullet, pancreas, bladder, cervix, blood, and kidney) it also may cause heart diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, fasten your ageing and have impact on your fertility. There are also other conditions where smoking often causes worse symptoms. For example: asthma, flu, chest infections, tuberculosis, chronic rhinitis, diabetic retinopathy, hyperthyroidism, multiple sclerosis, optic neuritis, and Crohn's disease. Stress in the life of young people

Stress in the life of young people We should acknowledge from the start that we all have stress in our lives and it's completely normal. The problem is that the age of people suffering from the stress is getting younger every year. We are all a little different and and also respond differently to situations that make us feel stressed. It is clear that there are many things that cause stress, especially when one is a teenager still trying to find his place in the world and finding out what to do with his life. The reasons may be upcoming exams, homework, new school, taking on a new responsibility school is a huge part of teenager's life and studying may often cause stress. Another thing that causes a lot of stress in the life of young is having bad relations. Being left out of the group, being harrased or having troubles with parents.

The occurrence and clinical signs depend on environment, season concurrent pathogens, host immune system and Moraxella bovis strain. The disease is highly contagious and can easily spread in the farm. Moraxella bovis is not capable to move but can cause the destruction of red blood cells (M.H. Brown et al. 1998). All Moraxella isolates of veterinary importance, including Moraxella ovis, Moraxella bovis, and Moraxella bovoculi, have the ability to form biofilms. Researches have shown that biofilms are related to the chronicity because of the increased antimicrobial resistance and it is considerable defence mechanism for being washed away or destroyed by bovine tear secretions. It can especially be dangerous when it involves items such as broken glass, needles and syringes. Litter can get into the drainage system and block it. Litter scattered all over the city. Makes it look ugly. And it usually costs a lot of money to clean up the city every year. But the biggest problem is municipal dumps, because they cause environmental pollution. Stress

changes in the surrounding enviorment. Without it we could not survive. Stress has many effects on the body that are necessary for a reaction to the stressor. When an animal senses danger, it automatically triggers a fight or flight response. In case of a lifethreatening situation, stress is an invaluable ally. It can even motivate us to prepeare for upcoming challenges. But as we move further and further from our natural habitat, stress becomes more of nuisance than a lifesaver. Things that cause stress to the modern man are nothing compared to the problems that troubled our ancestors. Few hundred years ago the average european was still worrying about his livestock being looted. But we feel that a Powerpoint presentation that is due tomorrow is something that threatens our existance. Stress can cause some people unnecessary anxiety that paralyzes them and is an impediment to action. That is the opposite of the motivational stress that forces us to act.

agricultural and industrial land to Germany, including Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and the former army officers were angry about this. Also, the Bolshevik government had taken land from the Tsar and the nobles and given it to the peasants, and the civil war was supported by those landlords who had lost their land. All these enemies of the Bolsheviks co-operated to try to bring down the Bolshevik government. A second cause of the Civil War was the Czech Legion. Combined, these two sources are responsible for about 90% of all air pollution in the United States. All kind of pollutions can lead us to serious health problems. For example, air pollution is increasingly being cited as the main cause of lung conditions such as asthma - twice as many people suffer from asthma today compared to 20 years ago. Dioxins and furans in the atmosphere

They are found in all environmental compartments, are persistent and, being fat soluble, they tend to accumulate in higher animals including humans. Their resistance to degradation and semivolatility means that they may be transported over long distances and give rise to transnational exchanges of pollutants. In addition, dioxins which were released into the environment many years ago are still contributing to current exposure. Even very small dioxin concentrations can cause negative effects on the environment and on human health, in particular on the most vulnerable groups like children. Human health effects include impairment of the immune system, the nervous system, the hormonal system and the reproductive functions. Dioxins are also suspected of causing cancer. How Are We Exposed to Dioxins? Although formation of dioxins is local, environmental distribution is global. Dioxins are found throughout the world in the environment
