The good and bad points of being rich and famous

Eliise Mändla MT-13 The good and bad points of being rich and famous 1.11.2015 Almost everyone of us, at least once, dreamed a life of being rich and famous. But like many other things, as we are witnessing on almost daily basis, that kind of life brings both positive and negative sides. Firstly, celebrities have a lot of money , which they earn in a simple way. Also they don't have to worry about their future. They can do whatever they are pleased to. Travel wherever they want, live wherever, eat and buy whatever they want. Secondly, if you are young and your parents are rich you can start using the advantages of being rich already as a kid. For example you can go to a private school or even to a private kindergarten.

Two very different towns of Estonia

Two very different towns of Estonia I would like to write about two very different towns of Estonia. One is Paide and the second is Tallinn. These cities for most people, would be quite incomparable, but if you really are interested in Estonian culture, then you most certainly have to visit them both. Paide most often described as the center of Estonia, is one of the most historic cities in Estonia as its first mentioned in the writings as early as 1265, also it was one of the first cities in Estonia to receive ,,city" title as early as 1295.. Many would say that the city, now, is rather an rundown than an touristy city, but I most certainly believe that maybe although this city isn't even nearly close to being cosmopolitan it is one of the most interesting cities

Thoughts on Air Pollution Essay

Air pollution Every day, the average person inhales about 20,000 liters of air. Every time we breathe, we risk inhaling dangerous chemicals that have found their way into the air. Air pollution includes all contaminants found in the atmosphere. These dangerous substances can be either in the form of gases or particles. Air pollution can be found both outdoors and indoors. Pollutants can be trapped inside buildings, causing indoor pollution that lasts for a long time. The sources of air pollution are both natural and human-based. As one might expect, humans have been producing increasing amounts of pollution as time has progressed, and they now account for the majority of pollutants released into the air. Air pollution has been a problem throughout history. Even in Ancient Romepeople complained about smoke put into the atmosphere.

Locke essay

freedom. John Locke Although John Locke is not the progenitor of social contract theory and is not by any means the last philosopher to wrestle with this concept, his views on fiduciary power, majority consent and limited government have been instrumental in western political thought from the time of the publication of his Two treatises of government to the present day. Locke's writings refute the notions both of the divine right of kings and absolute government by arguing that peoples' destiny should be determined by majority will. In Locke's view this can only be achieved by what he defines as limited government, an overarching framework which allows the people to amend or even dissolve a legislature if it is perceived to break the trust placed in it by the majority. In order to understand the emergence of societies and the concept of limited

Old Town of Haapsalu and museums People who are interested in culture and history can visit the Old Town and museums. For example the Estonian Railway Museum, the Episcopal Castle Museum, the Läänemaa Museum and others. I think that the city itself is one of the greatest historical places. It is widely accepted that Turkey's accession would be different from previous enlargements because of the combined impact of Turkey's population, size, geographical location, economic, security and military potential. The case of Turkey will be different and more challenging from previous accessions for a number of reasons, some of them are presented below. Terrorism and fighting against it

Terrorism and fighting against it Terrorism is not new and even though it has been used since the beginning of recorded history it can be relatively hard to define. Terrorism has been described differently as both a tactic and strategy; a crime and a holy duty; a justified reaction to oppression and an unforgivable abomination. Obviously, a lot depends on whose point of view it is being represented. Terrorism has often been an effective tactic for the weaker side in a conflict. Terrorism is most common in nations with the average political freedom, and is least common in the most democratic nations. In some cases, terrorism has been a means to carry on a conflict without the

Ideal marriage

Ideal marriage By definition, marriage is a union, a legal joining of two people. However the term 'ideal marriage' is a much more complex phrase to understand. This is due to the variety of couples and views on life. Fortunately, there are some basic traits that all succesful wedlocks have in common. In order for a marriage to work, it needs to have the full attention of both participants. Both man and woman need to respect each other, including their duties, rights and responsibilities towards one another. In my opinion, a perfect marriage has to be a partnership. Both husband and wife need to be able to speak their minds without feeling judged or worse, ignored. Furthermore, one of the most important aspects to happy marriages is the couples ability to stand together and plan their future. It is especially vital for newlyweds to have clear

To a Skylark

He wishes he could fly like a fairy and join the singing bird. Wordsworth feels that the bird must have a strong soul to create something so mad but at the same time joyful. He feels that they would fit to be together but as he needs to get on with his journey he must sate with just hearing the bird. All in all he is happy he had the chance to enjoy the jolly music and hopes it happens again sometime. Comparison: differences Even though both poems are about the same bird and its singing they are quite different in many ways. Shelly's poems in much longer and thus also more in-depth. It tries to portray the ways how the Skylark is exceeding properly by giving more metaphors to the bird and comparing it to various things. Wordsworth's poem on the other hand concentrates on how he wishes to join the bird and be as good as the lark. He gives forth his main idea strictly without wasting so much time on glorifying the bird itself.

What should be done, that marriage works. (essay) When two people fall in love, they might consider getting married. When they are married, they both hope that their happy life will last forever. There's a lot they can do, to make their marriage work. What clearly needs to be done, is that people shouldn't rush into marriage. They need to take some time to get to know each other very well, because they might find out, that they are too different for each other. This might lead to divorce, and thats what nobody wants. A couple should always be absolutely sure about their love and dedication, before they make such an important decision

members and is elected for four years, when the British parliament is bicameral and has 1455 members currently and is elected for five years. Bicameral parliament means that there are two separate assemblies. There are quite a few minor differences that Iam not going to mention because otherwise it would take me much longer than two minutes to talk about them. Now i want to talk about similarities. I previously talked about parliaments and that leads me to the first similarity: in both systems the head of the parliament is Prime Minister, current Prime minister in United Kingdom is Theresa May and in Estonia Taavi Rõivas. The second similarity is the election to the parliament in both countries you have to be at least 21 years old and there are some other criterias to match like mental health and imprisonment. And in both countries you have to be at least 18 years old to vote.

The rewiev of Twilight

The Review Twilight is the story of Edward and Bella's romance. Forget any vampire romance you have read before, Twilight is so unique it is almost like it's in its own genre. The book is marketed at Young Adult readers but it has the ability to cross age barriers and will satisfy both teenagers and adults alike. The story is told in first person from the perspective of Bella, so the reader only ever know what she knows, making Edward and his family a mystery that is slowly unravelled through out the book. Even by the end of the book I was still thirsting for more of the Cullen family back story - hopefully their characters might be developed further in future books. Bella herself is a well written and realistic character, shy and lacking in

Do you consider yourself more functionalist or more conflict theorist?

Do you consider yourself more functionalist or more conflict theorist? Please explain why? Functionalism and conflict theory are very different views of society, but they are not exactly opposites. Both have arguments, that make people think about the society they live in and both have theorists who critize each other. In my opinion, none of the theories are completely wrong but I do tend to agree with people on the conflict theory side. Firstly, functionalism ignores inequality and focuses too much on the positive functions in society. For example racism, functionalists will say that it must be imporant in order to exist as long as it has but in my opinion that sounds quite doubtful. The most problematic part about racism is above all

Should class attendance be mandatory for university students?

Should class attendance be mandatory for university students? It has been heavily debated, whether class attendance in general should be compulsory or optional. While most people can agree on the necessity of class attendance in elementary, as well as secondary school being obligatory, then opinions on required class attendance at university are quite divided. Both two alternatives have their respective up- and downsides but all aspects considered, which is more beneficial? To start off, the students’ chosen specialty usually reflects their interests which means that said students, in fact, want to attend classes. In this case, it seems unnecessary to make classes mandatory as it will be more time consuming and virtually even pointless for them to explain their reason for absence. After all, it is relatively common that when students take interest in a

appliances every household has to have. Generation Y has a whole new list of technology which nowadays includes a phone, a computer, gaming consoles, a televison, and basically anything you can control without ever having to get up or even leave our rooms. When's the last time someone asked you about something neither of you knew about and you didn't take your phone out to 'google' it? Now think about how many times you've tried to figure out the answer yourself. Sure, both ways may have plenty of attempts but which has succeeded the most the artificial or the real brain? The answer is quite simple, isn't it! Technology has so much to do with today's knowledge. You probably wouldn't know half the things you know now if it weren't for the Internet. Looking at it like that, millennials don't really differ from robots all that much. Some are even more advanced that any of us! New Zealand beaches

Even though New Zealand is only about the same size as Colorado, the large coastline is possible because it is extremely iregular and indented. New Zealand's coastline is packed with deep coves, bays, intricate harbours, long sounds, and steep fiords. Its territorial waters stretch from the sub-tropical through to the sub-antarctic. Both islands tend to have better swimming beaches on their eastern coasts and the further north you go. The west coasts of both islands are quite rugged with cliffs and more unsettled weather. There are however some suitable swimming and bathing beaches here, with iron (volcanic) sand beaches (black sand) being common on the North Island. The longest beach in New Zealand is the 90 mile beach, which is actually about 60 miles long. This beach is famous for its huge sand dunes and resembles the Sahara Desert in places. This beach occupies the north western coastline of the North Island.

Have you ever caught yourself thinking about what if you had the power to design your own baby? Most likely everyone has. It is every parent's hope that their child will turn out to be a perfect human being without any physical or mental disabilities. But is it moral? First of all, if parents could design their own baby everyone would be perfect. What is more there would not be any babies born with illnesses or disabilities, both mental and physical. This is good news both to parents and children because living together with a handicap or being one is a very hard and sad thing. Another major point is, how far would people go designing their babies. One thing is to make sure that your baby is healthy but to design your child's appearance is superficial, what is more, it is morally wrong. In addition the way one person looks is not as important as the personality. To sum people should not have the right to design their own children. The only thing

In Estonia it's just a simple and sincere "hello". If you ask that people are assuming the question was about how they feel or how their life is. All in all, Estonians and Australians show much different styles of behaviour but also many similarities of respectful and happy environment. Kirjand " Eksamid on kohustuslikud " (" Exams are a must ")

Because the majority of students are very nervous during exams and they can't focus and making mistakes. There also will not be enough time. Does anyone in real life situation prohibit you to check your spelling grammar from dictionary or look online help for the problems. Some people are smarter, while others do not. Also I hate thinking like all people need to be good at any skill. It's impossible, there are smart people and creative people, never both, who have both skills have poor skills. And we are not able to change this. As one wise man said: ,,Nobody really learns anything by force". Of course the important thing is being able to use those facts well, quickly and under pressure. But there are people who don't manage anything and they will not survive in our modern society. Finally, I would say that exams are pointless . A good degree is absolutely no guarantee of a good job

while a further 7% of the worlds population are proficient speakers of English. This means that only around 12% of the worlds population can communicate well in English. American Literature Character Sketch-The Great Gatsby-Daisy

and let other people clean up the mess they had made. Liisa-Maria Pihlak, 12B It was Nick, her cousin, who saw her for what she really was-a careless woman, who didn’t consider to think twice about her actions and the mess she made nor who had to clean it up. She is unable to deal with the consequences of her actions. She can also be described childish and indecisive. I did love him once, but I loved you too. She had difficulties choosing between the two men who both wanted her. She married Tom without thinking it through which only shows her main interest and goal in that was money and wealth not the man himself. In first glance, Daisy is a very sweet and charming person, but once I got to know her better throughout the book, it wasn’t so. She wasn’t the woman Gatsby thought she was, she was all about money and only cared what money could get her. Even though she claimed to love both men (Tom and Jay), I think what she loved the

Countering

That may be so, but for most people the whole point of marriage is to live together and raise a family. That might have been the case once, but you forget that mega-stars like Pelé and Ali were the products. They could pull crowds and make vast sums of money. Well, maybe they do, but they've got to learn to live together. I'm against all forms of segregation. You may be right about sport and politics, but it can work both ways. 7.4 Countering using "well" both to cast doubt and for antithesis Think of all the money that's spent in the souvenir shops of these galleries and museums. Well you might as well argue that the government should subsidize all shops. But under the patients' charter, hospitals are meant to treat you within a certain time. Well, you know how they get round that one. They make you wait for months before they put you on the waiting list.

Rural versus Urban

It may look very exciting to an urban people but it may seem boring to rural people. So, good thing about living in city is that there are probably many more people who you can meet with. Thanks to this there is a bigger possibility that you would find yourself a girlfriend or a boyfriend or just some very good friend. Also when you are an athlete there are usually better conditions to sport. So I think that you can't tell that one society is better than another. I think that people should try both and then decide which one he likes better. And also I think that your opinion may change during the years.

Two great singles

music. In my opinion the best hip-hop artist is 50 cent and best rock band is the Gueen with Freddie Mercury. My favourite song from 50 cent is ,,Window shopper" which talks about people who have so much money and possibilities that they can do anything or buy anything they want. ,,We are the champions" from the Queen is my second favourite piece on music. This song inspires me to me the champion and win in everything in my life. Both of these song are very good to listen. When in a mood for dreaming it is better to listen hip- hop especially ,,Window shopper" but in a need for inspiratoin mood the best song to listen is ,,We are the champions". In my opinion rap and hip- hop are for younger age groups although there are exeptions. Queen is for everyone because it is a legendary band which will be remembered for decades thanks to their great songs.

For and against homeschooling

State school pupils because in school there is lots of students and teacher cannot teach meet their classmates almost every day and communicate much every pupil separately. Teachers do not have the time to focus to more than homeschooled children. Homeschoolers have to find every student's weaknesses and help them in specific areas. another way to make friends and communicate. Homeschooled child can receive enough help where needed. What is On the whole both options, homeschooling and state school, have more that homeschooler's parents are able to witness and guide their their pros and cons. To my mind both are great options. In the end it child's development but parents of pupils in state schools are not is parents and their children's decision. associated with their child's development and cannot witness everything. Also teachers in state schools teach because they are paid
