About Peter I House Museum

About Peter I House Museum Emperor Peter I (1672-1725) expanded the borders of the Russian Empire in the course of the Northern War and managed to annex the whole Estonian territory by the year 1710. Therefore the protection of the new border areas became the priority of the ruler and he paid a lot of attention to the reconstruction of ports in Tallinn and Paldiski and visited Tallinn several times. Together with the site of the would-be palace, a summer estate and a 17th-century cottage that had belonged to town councillor von Drenteln were purchased for the emperor's use in 1713. The small cottage was enlarged with a wing and the outcome was a building with a hall, a kitchen and four rooms. The small summer residence was in use until the emperor's death

rain and its dangerous effects. The levels of acid rain vary from region to region. In Third World nations without pollution restrictions, acid rain tends to be very high. In EasternEurope, China, and the Soviet Union, acid rain levels have also risen greatly. However, because acid rain can move about so easily, the problem is definitely a global one. Global warming Global warming, also known as the greenhouse effect, immediately received international attention. Scientists, environmentalists, and governments around the world took an interest in the subject. Global warming is called the greenhouse effect because the gases that are gathering above the earth make the planet comparable to a greenhouse. By trapping heat near the surface of the earth, the greenhouse effect is warming the planet and threatening the environment. Many scientists criticized Mr. Hansen's report, and the debate over global warming continues today.

Computers in every classroom

Nowadays computers are becoming more and more unavoidable. We read newspapers from internet, make bank transfers, work and study with them as well. Although computers are making our lifes easier I do not support placing computers to classrooms. Firstly, when students sit in front of the computers from lesson to lesson then their scholastic proficiency will degenerate because they will surf on the internet, chat on MSN and so on. It is doubtless that computers in classroom scatter students attention. Furthermore, computers damage students health. The rays what computer screen vomit are very harmful, so staring at computer screen too much will cause intense damages to people eyes. So from that viewpoint it is absurd to put computers to every classroom. On the other hand, computers in every classroom would make students life easier. They could take notes by computer and also look for additional information about lesson's topic and maybe learn more by that.

Essay You can never have too much money

Money usually brings people happiness since you have the ability to buy food on your table and a roof above your head, however it takes time and energy to earn it. You may get tired, stressed and eventually it might cause other problems. Therefore I think that when you have money and you know how to use it the right way, then you can never have too much of it. Of course I am nobody to tell someone how to live their life, but in my opinion everybody should balance their attention and priorities between financial goals and friends, family etc.

Ghost Story

Ghost story A family of four moved to a little old cottage. One night, when they went to bed they heard music coming from the attic, but when they got to the attic, there was nothing but the wind howling. They did not pay much attention to it because they thought it was just wind. A few weeks later, when they arrived home around 1 pm and found their dog, who almost never barked, barking and acting very strange. He was barking at their garage. The family at first thought it was a cat or some other small animal; the father turned his attention to the garage. Cars are the greatest danger to human life today

Nowadays driving with cars are very popular because they are very convenient and fast. Even though, there are people, who don't use cars for their own reasons. In my opinion, cars are useful and they give us more personal freedom. In the first place, there are a lot of people, who die in a car accident every year. The way I see it, is that peole themselves cause the greatest harm to society, not cars. Cars are not all dangerous if they're driven with care and attention. Another major reason is that cars give us more personal freedom. We can decide where and when we want to travel without having to rely on anyone else. Furthermore, cars are very small and comfortable, that we can easily drive close to different buildings. People argue that cities would be less polluted if cars were banned. They are on opinion that our health is at risk as well as the envinronment and they suggest to use public transport instead of using cars.

How to avoid colds?

Colds and other sicknesses are common occurrences in human life. There are probably more than a million people who are suffering a terrible head cold, a cough and a sore throat right now. These illnesses are not mostly dangerous for people, but if not treated, they may become life-threatening. For example, a simple cold may become a serious disease called otitis, and a simple cough pneumonia. There are a lot precautions to avoid colds, but not everyone pays attention to. The most common way to avoid them, is to dress according to the weather. When it is windy outside, people should wear something windproof, mostly in early spring and late autumn. In winter the dressing should be warm and layerd. Eating healthy food, doing sports and sleeping normally are also very important actions to stay healthy. Healthy food, for example, is different fruits, vegetables and non-fat soups and fries. Also

There are plenty of things that you can do to avoid pretty crime. If you drive somewhere a car, then wherever you park do not forget to lock your doors and pay attention that your windows are also closed. If you forget to do it, someone may steal your car. When you walk in the street or you take a bus then always check that your pockets are closed and your bag is closed. You never know when someone wants to steal your mobile phone or your wallet. If you want to feel safer then always check your items in your pockets or keep them empty. If you want you may carry tear gas because when someone attacks you, then you can protect yourself

Charlie Chaplin

Chaplin's slapstick acrobatics made him famous, but the subtleties of his acting made him great. While Harold Lloyd played the daredevil, hanging from clocks, and Buster Keaton maneuvered through surreal and complex situations, Chaplin concerned himself with improvisation. For Chaplin, the best way to locate the humor or pathos of a situation was to create an environment and walk around it until something natural happened. The concern of early theater and film was to simply keep the audience's attention through overdramatic acting that exaggerated emotions, but Chaplin saw in film an opportunity to control the environment enough to allow subtlety to come through. Chaplin was known as one of the most demanding men in Hollywood. Regardless of the size the part, Chaplin walked each actor through every scene. Chaplin knew that a successful scene was not simply about the star, but about everyone on the screen. He demanded that the entire cast work together in every performance

Advertising has a bad influence on children

Commercials and ads are not only directed to adults but also for children's. The good thing of advertising is that it helps us to become aware of the products in the market and the bad thing is the negative effect on childrens. To begin with, childrens are defenseless. They do not understand the ads or commercials, they do not know that it is only a business plan. Advertisements are made in such a way as to attract the attention of children. And that leads to there that children ask their parents to buy some certain products. Children are very useful customers for companies, they help businesses to increase their profits. Secondly, children are often able to remember messages targeted towards adults and kids remember the content in advertisements what will have a influence on children for a very long time. Very large influence on children has junk food commercials or ads. When children see on TV junk food

A good forest grows approximately 70 years so the young peole who plant trees on their land, won’t probably be building houses with them, instead their children or grandchildren will. CARPOOLING/esitlus inglise keeles

The driver doesn’t try to earn money, but to share with several people the cost of a trip he would do anyway. The expenses to be divided basically include the fuel and possible tolls. Let me introduce to you good points of carpooling: Firstly. by having more people using one vehicle, carpooling reduces each person's travel costs such as fuel costs, tolls, and the stress of driving. Secondly, carpooling is also a more environmentally friendly way to travel. Please pay attention, that sharing journeys reduces carbon emissions, traffic congestion on the roads, and the need for parking spaces. What do you think about problems with parking places? It is really hard to find parking place near our university. In our days, when the Internet could be used not only from a computer, it has greatly helped carpooling to expand, enabling people to offer and find rides thanks to easy-to-use and reliable online transport marketplaces

Elu on nende jaoks liiga väärtuslik, sellepärast ka tekitavad enda ümber igasugu sündmusi. - Nad ei järgi reeglitele, sest usuvad enda tõekspidamisi, mis tõlgendub täiskasvanute jaoks allumatusena Mured indigolastega -Indigolapsed on diagnoositud tihtipeale ADD-( Attention Defitsit Disordertähelepanupuudulikkus) ja ADHD( Attention Defitsit Hyperactive Disorderhüperaktiivsusega tähelepanupuudulikkus) kandjateks - Ravi tagajärjel on nad küll muutunud „rahulikumaks“, kuid teatud annete nüristumise hinnaga -Nad saavad tihtipeale haiget nii eakaaslaste, aga ka täiskasvanute käitumise tõttu, kes ei mõista indigofenomeni -Neil on tihtipeale suhtlemisprobleemid, sest nad ei mõista teiste mõttemaailma -Indigolapsi on lihtne teiste

Homereading - body language

Body language Body language means communication with the movement or position of the human body. It can be conscious or unconscious. It is something that is noticed by everybody but is not always given enough attention. We sometimes ignore it and try to hide behind words, but we should never forget that we cannot fool everyone! Children react to body language because they experience the world through intuition. The same can be true for adults when feelings are involved. People who are in bad shape emotionally will often place great importance in it. In fact, they often pick up the smallest hint of a lapse in attention in the person they are speaking to. And they

Swifts A Modest Proposal

He says that because many women in those times had no any material capabilities to raise children and provide for them. The proposal, in his opinion, will make the babies "beneficial to the public" and "prevent those voluntary abortions, and that horrid practice of women murdering their bastard children. Alas! Too frequent among us, sacrificing the poor innocent babies" as well (54). Children are not representing anything, but a hot commodity there. Especially my attention was struck by the fact that the author incorporates a settlement system, when he calculates the costs for rearing and profit from the sale of poor women' babies. According to Swift, "a child just dropped from its dam may be supported by her milk for a solar year, with the little other nourishment: at most not above the value of two shillings" and he also believes that a healthy and delicious infant may easily be sold for 10 shillings, which means that "the mother will have 8s.

The Canterbury tales by Geoffrey Chaucer

less and less popular, Chaucer made fun of the knights and how they were honoured and he thought that it was a bit oldfashioned. There was also a shipman and Chaucer described him with some respect I think. He said that the shipman was wise, had seen the world and knew everything about his job and much more (,,Ther nas noon swich from Hulle to Cartage."). I think what the author wants to say is that at that time people were not paying so much attention on simpler people (for example workers) but that was a mistake because there were many bright persons there. They just were not noticed because they weren't born to a higher class. People thought that only the warriors were smart and worthy to be paid attention to. One of the pilgrims was a pardoner. He was described as a dishonest and voracious man. He had blonde hair and he did everything to get money. He carried false relics and with these he made a lot of money

The Cement Garden Character Sketch

seemed idiotic. Tom was tender but mettlesome. Since he was the youngest child in the family he was mostly left out due to his age. Other siblings had their own activities together and Tom was too young to understand or take part. I.g. the game of scientists examining a specimen from outer space. His relationship with his father had changed after his father had become semi-invalid. After the incident Tom’s father was very severe with him. He felt like he had to compete for mother’s attention and frequently spited him with stinging criticism. Tom was afraid of his father. Tom’s mother was aware of the situation but did not intervene. “She took all this in silence. If Father then left the room she would smile briefly at Tom or tidy his hair with her fingers.” Tom wanted to spend as much time with his mother as he could. But when his mother got ill Julie prohibited being around her that much. He did not like the evenings without her.
