companies; shrines and temples; joint holdings; various groups and cooperatives; and habitual joint holdings. Except for shrines and temples, these groups manage forests to produce income. In general, these forests are not very large: the average forest area per establishment was 3.7 ha in 1990. Groups operating forests of less than 100 ha control 67% of the total area. Hence forests are not necessarily owned by a few large concerns. Private ownership of forestland was officially permitted after the Meiji restoration of 1868, which marked the end of feudalism. Previously, forestland was legally owned collectively for the use of local communities. After the Meiji restoration, most of these ,,commons" became privately owned land, although some still exist and are operated by permanent joint holdings. In many cases, common forests were divided equally among members of the community, and individual parcels of forestland were small.

The Seaplane Harbour of Tallinn

Estonian Maritime Museum and the Seaplane Harbour For years the Estonian Maritime Museum had been searching for a harbour for its growing museum fleet, which as a result was scattered. The idea and opportunity to develop a harbour for the museum arose in August 2003, when it became clear that the contract to keep the ice breaker ,,Suur Tõll" at the Admiralty basin in the city centre was about to expire. Part of the seaplane harbour belonged to the Ministry of the Environment and the ownership of the other part was under dispute. The seaplane harbour was in a very bad condition, but after some basic maintenance the first ship was ready to be transferred. The ice breaker ,,Suur Tõll" arrived there on January 26th, 2004. By October 2004, all other museum's ships submarine ,,Lembit", mine vessel ,,Kalev", patrol boat ,,Grift" and the research vessel ,,Mare" - were brought to the Seaplane Harbour. By July

last century's national awakening and the oppression of the Soviet regime. After the restoration of Estonia's independence, theatre lost its political significance and became one area of culture amongst many others. Nowadays, theatre has to prove its worth by means of art only. Estonian theatre arts is a mixture of German and Russian theatre. Theatres in Estonia, like elsewhere in the world, may be divided into three categories according to their form of ownership: state, municipal and private theatres. One of the six state theatres in Tallinn is the Russian Drama Theatre. Although its repertoire is Russian, quite a number of Estonian classical plays are staged there. The audiences are mostly people of Russian nationality. There are two music and dance theatres in Estonia: 'Vanemuine' in Tartu and the national opera 'Estonia'. The Vanemuine has its own drama company and is therefore the largest of Estonian theatres.

Buckingham palace is the official residence of the British monarch. The Palace is located in the city of Westminster. It is a setting for state occasions and royal hospitality. It has been a rallying point for the British people at times of national rejoicing and crisis. The Buckingham palace is originally known as the Buckingham House. The building which forms the core of today's palace was a large townhouse. It was built for the Duke of Buckingham in 1703 on a site which had been in private ownership for at least 150 years. It was subsequently acquired by George the third in 1761 as a private residence for Queen Charlotte and known as The Queen's House. During the 19th century it was enlarged, principally by architects John Nash and Edward Blore, forming three wings around a central courtyard. Buckingham Palace finally became the official royal palace of the British monarch on the accession of Queen Victoria in 1837. The last major

* Written in Latvin * In it a traveller, Raphael Hythlodeaus describes the political arrangements of the imaginary island country of Utopia to himself and to Pieter Gillis. This novel describes the city of Amaurote by saying, "Of them all this is the worthiest and of most dignity". * Utopia contrasts the contentious social life of European states with the perfectly orderly, reasonable social arrangements of Utopia and its environs (Tallstoria, Nolandia, and Aircastle). In Utopia, with communal ownership of land, private property does not exist, men and women are educated alike, and there is almost complete religious toleration. Some take the novel's principal message to be the social need for order and discipline rather than liberty. The country of Utopia tolerates different religious practices but does not tolerate atheists. Hythlodeaus theorises that if a man did not believe in a god or in an afterlife he could never be trusted, because he would not acknowledge any

It is a response to long-standing requests from many of these countries for closer relations, founded on partnership and joint ownership. If an accession perspective were to be offered at some point in the future to any of the countries covered by the ENP, this would be a separate process. The main purpose is to develop free trading between EU and Eastern Partnership Countries and develop democratical views in Eastern Partnership Countries. remains the dominant medium in most U.S. households. On average, the general population spends over four and a half hours a day in front of the tube, making TV watching one of the most common modern leisure activities. Is it any wonder then that television advertising is also the most powerful form of advertising? Advertising on television allows you to show and tell a wide audience your business, product, or service. It allows you to actually demonstrate the benefits of ownership. You can show how your product or service works and how it's packaged so prospective customers will know what to look for at the point of sale. In advertising, it often takes multiple touch points to effectively influence consumers' purchasing behavior. Television advertising has been a popular medium for large retailers ever since the TV first began to appear in living rooms. With the arrival of cable television came lowered production

In Romania, there are several problems with facilities in bad shape and public bodies that have not addressed the issues properly. Table I is an attempt to assess how large the various barriers are in the studied countries. The table starts with some general conditions. Ownership and organisation considers if district- heating companies are owned, or DH operations are organised, in ways that make it more difficult for Swedish companies to do business. Corruption may be a problem through, for example, indirect bribes by procurement. National and local control encompasses national laws and policy instruments that are disadvantageous for district heating, DH price regulations, as well as municipalities not facilitating district heating by planning of new developments. Indians

The Europeans brought with them not only a desire and will to conquer the new continent for all its material richness, but they also brought with them diseases that hit the Indians hard. Conflicts developed between the Native Americans and the Invaders, the latter arriving in overwhelming numbers, as many "as the stars in heaven". The Europeans were accustomed to own land and laid claim to it while they considered the Indians to be nomads with no interest to claim land ownership. The conflicts led to the Indian Wars, the Indian Removal Act empowered by President Andrew Jackson in 1830 and other acts instituted by the Europeans in order to accomplish their objectives, as they viewed them at the time. In these wars the Indian tribes were at a great disadvantage because of their modest numbers, nomadic life, lack of advanced weapons, and unwillingness to cooperate, even in their own defense. The end of the wars more or less coincided with the end of the 19th century

Until recently the survival of the wooden quarters was threatened by unclear ownership in the years following independence and in a general indifference to the qualities they offered residents. This latter could be seen in a lack of maintenance, and inappropriate upgrading and repair approaches. Today however the situation is turned around and these wooden areas are much valued, and adequate measures are in place to maintain their authenticity.

National Symbols of New Zealand

National Symbols of New Zealand New Zealand flag History The idea of the flag of New Zealand was first introduced in 1830, because of trading troubles. At that time, a trading ship built inNZ, Sir George Murray was seized in Sydney by Customs officials for sailing without a flag or register. Australia, which was the most important trading partner for NZ had British navigation laws which ruled that every ship must carry an official certificate detailing construction, ownership and nationality of the ship. The problem was that during that period of time, NZ was not yet a colony ofGreat Britan, thats why the NZ-built ships could not sail under a British flag or register. Without a flag to represent the new nation, trading ships and their valuable cargoes would continue to be seized (held by the Australian customs (toll) The Australians called for signing a legislation to remove any obstacles to New Zealand's increasing trade with the ports in Australia

Gross domestic product

GDP = R + I + P + SA + W Where - R: rents - I: interests - P: profits - SA: statistical adjustments (corporate income taxes, dividends, undistributed corporate profits) - W: wages Gross Domestic Product GDP can be contrasted with gross national product (GNP) or gross national income (GNI). The difference is that GDP defines its scope according to location, while GNP defines its scope according to ownership. In a global context, world GDP and world GNP are therefore equivalent terms. · GDP is product produced within a country's borders; · GNP is product produced by enterprises owned by a country's citizens. International Standards The international standard for measuring GDP is contained in the book System of National Accounts (1993), which was prepared by representatives of the International Monetary Fund,

Prehistory, Saxon invasion and Celtic Kingdoms

The most powerful ones were Northumbria, Mercia and Wessex. King Offa of Mercia was the most powerful king. Government and society The Saxons created institutions that made the state strong for 500 years. First of them was the kings council the witan. It issued laws and charters. The land was divided into small administrative areas shires counties which were ruled by sheriffs who worked for kings. The AngloSaxon brought a new but heavier plough to Britain which changed the land ownership and organisation. The land was now divided 23 big fields which were into long thin strips. Each family had a number of strips to plough. One of these fields was for spring crops, the other for autumn crops and the third was left to rest for a year. In each district there was a manor where people came to pay taxes. Each manor was ruled by a lord. That was the beginning of class system. Summary of philosophy of right (õiguse filosoofia kokkuvõte)

Locke claims that one of the major reasons people enter into society is to avoid the state of war. One has the right to kill a thief who is trying to rob one one has right to kill someone who is trying to make one his slave While one may kill a thief who is tring to rob one, after the robbery is over, one must submit one's case to judge who must decide between the two parties One is obligated to preserve ones life V Locke explains that the best theory of right to ownership is rooted in the fact that each person owns his or her own body and all the labor that he or she performs with that body. So, when an individual adds his own physical labor, which is his own property, to a foreign object or material, that object and any resulting products become his property as well. One converts a ting into one's property by adding labor to it (e.g. If there is a publick forst and one collects wood from it, the wood becomes your property)

Monitor

Monitori elektromagnetilise kiirguse piiramiseks ja hindamiseks on kehtestatud terve rida riiklike standardeid,(DIN, SSI, MPR I, MPR II, SWEDAC, TCO) millest kõige levinum on Rootsis 1990.a. kehtestatud MRP II standard. Selle kohaselt ei tohi monitori poolt kiiratav magnetvälja tugevus poole meetri kaugusel ületada 250 nanoteslat. Sellest veelgi rangem on teine Rootsis kehtestatud norm TCO- 92. (TCO= Total Cost of Ownership.). Kasutajale lõppeb see tavaliselt silmapõletikuga

The cost of production

· Within the market model, production and costs of production are reflected in the supply function Production, more specifically, · the technology used in the production of a good (or service) · the prices of the inputs determine the cost of production. Production processes increase the ability of inputs (or resources) to satisfy wants by: · a change in physical characteristics · a change in location · a change in time · a change in ownership At its most simplistic level, the economy is a social process that allocates relatively scarce resources to satisfy relatively unlimited wants. To achieve this objective, inputs or resources must be allocated to those uses that have the greatest value. Consumers or buyers wish to maximize their utility or satisfaction given (or constrained by) · their incomes, · preferences, · the prices of the goods they may buy.

ego) Par prakti living being, God's superior energy. Speech of the person is th eenergy of that person. Energy belongs to the energetic. Everything in this world is either matter or spirit or combination of both but both belong to the Supreme Lord. BG: Everything belongs to the Supreme Lord. Logically: I own the land but for how ling? What happens after I pass away? Who actually is the owner? Our ownership because it is transitory, is considered to be illusory, we have it only for short amount of time and despite of our best efforts it can be arbitrary taken away. We are secondary owners. We are tenants. Also in our body body can be take away at any moment. One may say, body comes from nature, but where nature comes from? What is it's source? Ultimately everything has to have source. Source is God. Atheists say that everything comes by chance. Things don't come by chance

exclude smaller firms from entering and can drive or buy out other firms. A natural monopoly suffers from the same inefficiencies as any other monopoly. A profit seeking natural monopoly will produce where marginal revenue equals marginal costs. · Regulation of natural monopolies is problematic. · Breaking up such monopolies is counter productive The most frequently used methods dealing with natural monopolies is government regulations and public ownership. · Government regulation generally consists of regulatory commissions charged with the principal duty of setting prices. · To reduce prices and increase output regulators often use average cost pricing. Under average cost pricing the price and quantity are determined by the intersection of the average cost curve and the demand curve. · This pricing scheme eliminates any positive economic profits since price equals average cost.
