This gear is generally used for target species tight on the bottom, such as angler, flatfish and Nephrops. By towing two nets side by side the effective swept area, and hence catch, is increased. As with the single demersal trawl above, otter boards (a) provide the horizontal spreading forces and floats and groundropes the vertical forces. The obvious difference in rigging is the third wire or central warp (b), which runs from the vessel to the clump (c), a heavy weight which can consist of short lengths of chain cable shackled together or a custom made device (Fig. 12) designed to roll rather than be dragged along the bottom. Warp length/water depth ratios are similar to those used with the single demersal trawl and bridles/sweeps (d) can be steel wire, combination wire, chain or a mixture of all three. Normal towing speed used is around 2.5 knots.

1)Main machinery On a ship, the engine room, or ER, is the propulsion machinery spaces of the vessel. To increase the safety and damage survivability of a vessel, the machinery necessary for operations may be segregated into various spaces. The engine room is one of these spaces, and is generally the largest physical compartment of the machinery space. The engine room houses the vessel's prime mover, usually some variations of a heat engine - diesel engine, gas or steam turbine. On some ships, the machinery space may comprise more than one engine room, such as forward and aft, or port or starboard engine rooms, or may be simply numbered. 1.1)Main engine

The editing of the compendium was completed at 25 November 2004 Definitions A navigational electronic chart system is a general term for all electronic equipment that is capable of displaying a vessel’s position on a chart image on a screen. There are two classes of navigational electronic chart systems. The first is an Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), which meets IMO/SOLAS chart carriage requirements. The second is an Electronic Chart System (ECS), which can be used to assist navigation, but does not meet IMO/SOLAS chart carriage requirements. The gear is set roughly in the shape of an isosceles triangle with the dhan, which marks the end of rope first shot and to which the vessel returns to complete the set, as the apex and the net as the centre of the base. Having picked up the dhan the vessel then starts to steam slowly ahead while heaving in both ropes, gradually advancing winch speed as the gear closes to keep the net moving forward at a steadily increasing rate. 17 Danish seine is a trawling method used by relatively small boats in shallow waters (up to about 200 m). ,,Suur Tõll" at the Admiralty basin in the city centre was about to expire. Part of the seaplane harbour belonged to the Ministry of the Environment and the ownership of the other part was under dispute. The seaplane harbour was in a very bad condition, but after some basic maintenance the first ship was ready to be transferred. The ice breaker ,,Suur Tõll" arrived there on January 26th, 2004. By October 2004, all other museum's ships submarine ,,Lembit", mine vessel ,,Kalev", patrol boat ,,Grift" and the research vessel ,,Mare" - were brought to the Seaplane Harbour. By July 2006, the complications surrounding ownership had come to a favourable end and from then on the museum has been able to develop the harbour in a comprehensive manner. The reconstruction design of the harbour was finished in the autumn of 2007. The new project foresees the construction of an additional pier. The first phase of renovations was started in February 2008 and ended in June

The Inchcape Rock

The Rover stands on the deck of the ship, worrying. It is now a very dark night - there are no stars, nor the moon to give them light. He hopes the moon will soon rise, so they would be able to know where they are. Then one of sailors says that he can hear the sound of the waves breaking and he believes they are near a shore. Sir Ralph answers him that he is not sure where they are, but he wishes he could hear the Inchcape Bell. Here again, the sensation of something bad happening is 2 very strong, the description of the dead-silent sea is no longer lovely and relaxing, but vice versa, very disturbing. The complete darkness also has a part in it, of course. The sailors, obviously, do not hear the Bell (as it is in the bottom of the ocean). The current is very strong and it carries the floating ship with it. Then, suddenly the ship hits a rock and the

It has the sound of either a voiceless dental fricative, like th as in the English word thick, or a voiced dental fricative, like th as in the English word the. (In Modern Icelandic the usage is restricted to the former. The voiced form is represented with the letter eth (, ), though eth can be unvoiced, depending on its position within a sentence). Yogh-letter (cf yoke Estonian "ike") modified Latin g. Probably stood for several sounds starting with /j/ up to /g/. Prefix ge probably · not stressed · yokh-letter stood for /j/. Reasons for surmising this: 1. The prefix is still there in German (Past Participle, e.g. gehen, ging. gegangen). It is not stressed in German. 2. The prefix was lost during the Middle English times (geholpan holpen), it is easier to drop unstressed syllables. 3

Industry accounts for about one-third of the energy used in the country. There are many different uses and a variety of different energy sources in the manufacturing sector. One main use is as boiler fuel, which means producing heat that is transferred to the boiler vessel to generate steam or hot water. Another use is as process heating, which is when energy is used directly to raise the temperature of products in the manufacturing process; examples are separating components of crude oil in petroleum refining, drying paint in automobile manufacturing, and cooking packaged foods. The conversion of nuclear mass to energy is consistent with the mass-energy equivalence formula E = m.c², in which E = energy release, m = mass defect, and c = the speed of light in a vacuum. Nuclear chemistry can be used as a form of alchemy to turn lead into gold or change any atom to any other atom (albeit through many steps). E.g. when you want to send a letter to Brazil, you put a stamp from your own country and send it from your post office and the letter gets delivered. Why is this so easy, because there are certain international conventions that regulate postal services. E.g. traffic signs are almost the same everywhere, why? Because of certain int conventions that require the states to have more or less unified traffic signs. States apply international regulations to national regulations and they have to be in accordance with each other, the states can always specify these regulations. Therefore, PIL regulates people indirectly. Another unique feature: domestic law sources have a clear pyramid (top to bottom:

That was the last major outbreak in Europe, possibly thanks to the Great Fire of London in 1666. The fire broke out in the original City and quickly swept through London's wooden buildings, destroying large amounts of the city. Rebuilding took over ten years. Following London's growth in the 18th century, it became the worlds largest city from about 1831 to 1925. This growth was aided from 1836 by London's first railways, which put countryside towns within easy reach of the city. Rising traffic problems on roads led to the creation of the world's first subway system the London Underground. Because of this rapid growth, London became one of the first cities in human history to reach a population of one million and was the first ever to surpass five million. In the decades following WWII large- scale immigration from Commonwealth countries and beyond have transformed London into one of the most racially and culturally diverse cities in Europe. 3. The fastest production growth can be witnessed in the enterprises of mechanical engineering and metalwork and chemical industries which give more added value. A widespread preconception, especially in Russia, holds that the Estonian economy depends largely on Russian transit. The reality is different -- freight traffic between Russia and the rest of the world is an important source of profit for Estonian ports but the role of transit in the Estonian economy has been consistently decreasing. Slightly more than 70% of the freight flow of the ports and 57% of the rail freight is connected with transit. Such shares are constantly diminishing as Russian oil flow goes through her own ports on an increasing scale. Presently about one third of the freight flow may be related to transit. The
