Helping the environment

To: Ms Head teacher From: Iti Tomingas-Oras Subject: Helping the environment Date: 6th September Introduction The Pupose of this report is to present my findings about heping the enviroment in our school. I have carried out a survey among the students at Kose Gymnasium. My findings are presented below. Findings The first thing students thought was that our school is using and wasting paper. Theatchers do not use both sides of paper while printing. Secondly the students have noticed that the computers are not always turned off at end of the day. They take a lot of power and waste energy if they are turned on overnight. The tird thing I found out is that our school does not recycle and reuse enouhg which is also bad influence for the environment. Reccomendations

packages. 31-43% of marine debris are plastic bottles and even 50-63% of marine debris is plastic. Marine debris is harmful for everyone. It causes garbage ingestion and entanglement for marine animals. For marine life it causes accumulation and spread of toxic compounds and garbage deposition. These pictures are illustrative. Ristna Sea Store is organized into different departments and that's why it's called Store. From that exhibition you can find differend findings and their decomposition times in nature. This is how the exhibition looks inside. On this map they have tagged all the countrys where all these findings have came from to the coast of Hiiumaa. -- Departments... All this garbage decomposes for a really long time. For example this plastic bottle decomposes 50-80 years. This Coca Cola can (tin can) decomposes 200-500 years. This underwear decomposes 5 months and this swimming accessory never decompose. Glass decomposes 1 million year.

konkreetse riigiga. Kõige levinum ajutiste töölepingute vorm on tähtajalised lepingud (kaasa arvatud hooajaline töö), ajutine töö (sealhulgas ajutine töö agentuurides) ja töö nõudmisel (Foundation Findings 2009). Alates 2005. aastast on avatud kooskõlastusmeetodi tegevused (suunistes kokkuleppimine, eesmärkide seadmine, võrdlusuuring, iga-aastane aruandlus ja vastastikune õppimine) ühte koondatud ning selle alusel arutatakse igakevadisel ülemkogul laiemaid majanduspoliitilisi suuniseid. But most of them were actually collectors and only two guests said that they collected art from young painters. 10 visitors admitted that they bought art just to decorate their home and they actually did not care what kind of painting they were. Proof All in all, researchers were not much surprised by the findings. The survey just showed and confirmed how much our young talented English artists are depending on that financial support coming from The National Art Association.

REPORT Young people's activities in Simuvere Gymnasium in 1996, 1998 and 2000 Introduction The aim of this report is to describe, how are young people's favourite pastimes changed between 1996 and 2000. The survey is carried out in Simuvere Gymnasium in 1996, 1998 and 2000. Students who were questioned were 16-18 years old. My findings are presented below. Numbers have given in precentages. Changes among pastime activities. At graph we can see big changes. 1. Before 1996 students mostly watched television but in 1998 it was already ten percent less. In 2000 it was only twenty five percent. 2. Before students loved to read books, but in 2000 this number was only fifteen percent. This is not good anymore. 3. In 1996 students did not know what is computer or what we can do with that. In 2000

The most popular phone feature used is calling. Also, nearly three out of four students use their phones to browse the Internet, and almost a half of students use their phones to send text messages. A little over a quarter of students like to play games on their mobile phones, and one fourth enjoy using their devices to listen to music. Even though every mobile phone has a camera, not many students use their phones to take pictures. Based on the findings above, it is clear that the main uses of mobile phones are communication and internet use. Because of many recent technological advances, many people can nowadays do many different things on their mobile phones simply by clicking on a touch screen.

screening test. However, it is less readily available, more expensive, and requires general anesthesia, which increases risk to the patient and cost to the owner. Therefore, radiographs are still more commonly used. However, situations exist where CT scan should be strongly considered. For example, prior to thoracotomy for pulmonary mass excision, CT scan should be recommended to better characterize lymph node size and determine the presence of smaller lesions, since both findings strongly affect prognosis.[5] In general, less expensive, less invasive, and less risky tests are offered first, although owners should be made aware that more expensive, more invasive tests may follow if diagnosis is not achieved. For example, fine needle aspiration and cytologic evaluation are often recommended prior to surgical removal and biopsy of a mass. For many tumor types, such as lymphoma and mast cell tumors, diagnosis is usually easily achieved with cytology, and

Kodutöö: Research (Internet addiction)

The results of this study show that the Internet may become a problem when it absorbs too much of your time, causing you to neglect your relations, your work, school, or other important things in your life. Surprisingly, computer addiction covers a variety of impulse-control problems including cybersex addiction, cyber-relationship addiction, net compulsions, information overload and Internet addiction. These findings supports the importance of the Internet addiction. Many people turn to the Internet in order to manage unpleasant feelings such as stress, loneliness, depression, and anxiety. This suggests that it's important to remember that there are healthier (and more effective) ways to keep difficult feelings in check. These may include exercising, meditating, using sensory relaxation strategies, and practicing simple breathing exercises.

In those who score high in DAR in contrast showed a trend towards higher salivary cortisol responses. This means that the findings support the idea that different paterns of emotion regulation could cause long term stress and in turn greater susceptibility to stress related illnesses. In view of these results the role of ER in relation to stress related disorders maybe important. The present finding of an increased salivary cortisol in response to the psychosocial stress test TSST is consistent with previous findings (Dikerson and Kemery, 2004 ). These animals comforted the traumatized and helped the battle-scarred to avoid becoming obsessed with their injuries.  During the 1970's, scientific interest was rekindled by a study that had originally set out to examine the connection between social conditions and heart disease. Quite by chance, researchers discovered that the survival rate of people who owned a pet was significantly greater than those who didn't. At first, they treated these findings with suspicion, but the more research that was done, the more conclusive the proof became. People with pets really were living longer.  It was discovered that stroking a cat or dog lowers a human being’s blood pressure and reduces anxiety. Just having an animal around you can lower your heart rate. Cats and dogs aren't the only pets that can help you to relax either. A dental school in America has

Tallinn town hall

It has still remained the most important representational building in town. The building history of the Town Hall goes back to the 13th century, but it acquired its medieval appearance in 140204. It was as early as 1248 when King Eric IV Ploughpenny of Denmark granted the Lübeck Charter to Tallinn. Relying on that document a town council was elected from amongst merchants of the Hanse and started convening in the Town Hall. It is possible to state on the basis of research findings that a meeting place of the magistracy and a goods depot in the form of a small, fortified town hall, constructed of local limestone, existed in its present location already in the mid-13th century. The town hall first mentioned in a real estate record in 1322 had a large meeting room (consistorium) and, considering the times, a huge warehouse (cellarium civitatis). Three walls and seven windows representing Tallinn's oldest secular architecture have come down to our days from that building.

Lördagsgodis (Saturday candy) Saturday is candy day in Sweden, and most children indulge only once a week. Upheld mostly to protect people’s teeth and prevent dental cavities, the tradition is historically linked to dubious medical practices. In the 1940s and 1950s, at Vipeholm Mental Hospital in Lund patients were used in a series of human experiments for research purposes, and fed large amounts of candy to intentionally cause tooth decay. Based on its findings in 1957 of the direct relationship between sweets and tooth decay, the Medical Board suggested Swedes eat candy only once a week — a tradition that is still upheld in many households today.

Only a handful of streaked bombardier beetles have been found and moved so far, and with time running out before the building work begins, extinction is imminent for a species that was only recently added to the UK's red list of endangered species. Can China's rare `bear' survive? Pandas are not a species at an `evolutionary dead end' as is sometimes claimed, according to new research that has been carried out by scientists at Cardiff University and in Sichuan in China. Previous findings have suggested that the serious decline in giant panda numbers in modern times is related to its unusual dietary requirements the species exists almost entirely on bamboo habitat isolation and relatively slow reproductive rate. But this new study, published in Molecular Biology and Evolution, has uncovered an important relationship between the species' decline and human activities. "It is clear that the

degradation, climate change, animal cruelty and indigenous rights abuses in the countries where it is produced, as the land and forests must be cleared for the development of the oil palm plantations. According to the World Wildlife Fund, an area the equivalent size of 300 football fields of rainforest is cleared each hour to make way for palm oil production. This large-scale deforestation is pushing many species to extinction, and findings show that if nothing hanges, species like the orangutan could become extinct in the wild within the next 5-10 years, and Sumatran tigers less than 3 years. In total, 50 million tons of palm oil is produced annually, supplying over 30% of the world’s vegetable oil production. The more saturated and trans fats are eaten the more LDL-cholesterol is produced by the liver.10 There has been much disputation over whether eating cholesterol rich foods raise blood cholesterol levels or not. Some of the earliest scientific studies have proven that high consumption of cholesterol containing foods and/or saturated fat are connected to atherosclerosis, but recent studies have been disproving them. Despite these findings, individuals who eat a diet low in animal derived foods have been found to have lower incidence of heart disease. 11 Another notable finding is that only herbivorous beings are able to develop a heart condition called atherosclerosis. And while humans are identified as omnivorous organisms, we still get atherosclerosis, unlike other omnivorous and carnivorous animals (eg. dogs, cats, tigers and lions) who can consume excessive amounts of cholesterol and

Estonian forests relatively rapid growth (forest area has grown in the last half-century two times and the forest reserves by 2.5 times) allows using the wood without endangering the regenerative capacity of the forest. Other real important resource is also oil shade. Estonia manages to produce its own energy by mining every year about 15 million tonnes of oil shade having its findings about 0.4% of world’s total. These two are currently the largest industries in the country providing services and also work for more than ten thousands of people. When to talk about negative sides of Estonia then outstanding aspect is that the country has very high tax burden at every field. Since 2009 taxes have risen up and they are comparable to bigger welfare states regardless of being a rather small country. Higher tax burden than

The first spacecraft flyby accomplished by Pioneer 11 in 1979 accomplished many findings of Saturn's composition. The planet has an internal heat source like Jupiter and radiates about twice as much energy as it receives from the Sun. As suspected, Saturn must have internal shells of liquid and metallic hydrogen, small amounts of helium, ammonia, water, and perhaps a small rocky core. In 1086, William ordered a land survey for tax purposes. He sent a team of people all through England to make a complete economic survey. This survey was the only one of its kind in Europe. Not surprisingly, it was most unpopular with the people, because they felt they could not escape from its findings. The survey's results are contained in a document that became known as the Domesday Book, which provided information for William's tax officers. It so reminded people of the paintings of the Day of Judgement, or `doom', on the walls of their churches that they called it the Domesday Book. The Domesday Book still exists, and gives us an extraordinary amount of information about England at this time. William's policies cost English many of their liberties, but brought them peace and order.

The cemetery belongs to the 16-17 cc, and was discovered by chance in summer 1998, when the Raudsepa strip mine was re-opened. The archaeological specimens found were followed by archaeological excavations run by the archaeologists from the University of Tartu. The findings and excavated skeletons are stored at the Archeology Cabinet of the University of Tartu. Findings from the cemetery are typical for the period when the burials took place brooches, belt details, but also jewelry (beads, rings) and tools (knives, needles). Clay Bricks

Introduction (slide 2) In this presentation I'd like to give a brief overview of clay bricks. I'll speak about 15min to allow time for questions at the end. Firstly clay bricks are known for centuries as one of the most solid and reliable structural elements is set to play a role in reducing global warming. Apart form the many benefits obtained from using clay bricks in construction, such as their durability, insulation properties and aesthetic qualities, recent findings show that they also produce less carbon emissions than any other masonry material. History (slide 3) In more detail the earliest bricks were dried bricks, meaning they were formed from clay- bearing earth or mud and dried usually in the sun until they were strong enough for use. The oldest discovered bricks, originally made from shaped mud and dating before 10000 BC, were found in Mesopotamia related to the first known cities. Ceramic or fired bricks were first introduced by the Romans

Originally, the Russian space station MIR was supposed to last for five years, but in fact it remained in operation for fourteen. 2. Professor Smith has recently had his findings published in a prominent scientific journal. 3. This is the product prototype; as you can see, it is still at the experimental stage. 4. Technologycal warfare has put an end to the use of conventional weapons and traditional vattle strategies. 5. Supposedly, digital voice discs, or DVDs as they are called, are far more resistant to scratching than records. 6. People looking for meaning in today's confusing modern world often immerse themselves in new age philosophy.

remember, this is well before the idea of gravity had been discovered by Newton. The Copernican system offended the medieval sense that the universe was an affair between God and man. Copernicus knew it too. The ultimate authority, of course, was the Holy Writ. That his contemporaries would be alarmed by the heliocentric theory bothered Copernicus. So, he decided to publish his findings in 1543, the year of his death. Aware that he could not persuade the traditional thinking of the time, Copernicus made a specific appeal to mathematicians. It was, he thought, only the mathematician who could understand and appreciate the order and essential simplicity of his system. Copernicus never expected that his findings would appeal to the nonspecialist. But in 1572 something happened

Depriving Mr. Bozano of his liberty in this way amounted in fact to a disguised form of extradition designed to circumvent the negative ruling of 15 May 1979 by the Indictment Division of the Limoges Court of Appeal, and not to "detention" necessary in the ordinary course of "action ... taken with a view to deportation". The findings of the presiding judge of the Paris tribunal de grande instance - even if obiter - and of the Limoges Administrative Court, even if that court had only to determine the lawfulness of the order of 17 September 1979, are of the utmost importance in the Court's view; they illustrate the vigilance displayed by the French courts. ... FOR THESE REASONS, THE COURT UNANIMOUSLY ... Holds that there has been a breach of Article 5 § 1 (art. 5-1) of the Convention ...

the effect of the environment on the development of neurons in the cerebral cortex. The rats spent 30 or 60 days in their environment and were then sacrificed. The results showed that the rats that lived in a stimulating environment had a thicker cortex. The frontal lobe, associated with thinking, planning and decision-making was heavier in these rats as well. Similar studies show that if the rats were put in together with other rats, the thickness increases even more. These findings can be generalized to humans only to some extent because of the difference in genetic make-up. However, if learning always results in the development of the brain then the animal studies that show plasticity in response to environmental factors are important for the human cortex as well. Environmental changes can disrupt our circadian rhythms, that is, our biological 24- hour clock. Jet lag is a sudden circadian disruption caused by flying across several time zones in one day

The Saxons & Vikings

The Saxons & Vikings Fragmentary knowledge of England in the 5th & 6th centuries comes from the British writer Gildas, the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, saints' lives, poetry, archaelogical findings and place- name studies. British landlords ruled small, unstable kingdoms and continued some Roman traditions of governance. In the mid-5th cent, Vertigern, a British leader, hired Germanic mercenaries to help defend against peoples of the north (Picts & Scots). In the end they revolted & the process of invasion and settlement began. The first Saxon ,,kings" were Hengist & Horsa in Kent, Aelle in Sussex, Cerdic / Cynric in Wessex. So the first ,,English" became mainly from Northern

The question here is more whether one favors post-NPM (anti-NPM) or post-post-NPM, Weberian-based PA, the latter being the most advanced, and the most sophisticated, and now called the Neo-Weberian State (NWS). What was an option ten years ago is not an option anymore today. I would say that in PA · in 1995, it was still possible to believe in NPM, although there were the first strong and substantial critiques · in 2000, NPM was on the defensive, as empirical findings spoke clearly against it as well · in 2005, NPM is not a viable concept anymore Yet, in many areas, both of scholarship and of the world, as well as in policy, NPM is very alive and very much kicking. It is, therefore, necessary to look both at the concept itself and at the reasons for its success. Basic Problems of the New Public Management As important and, though more rarely, as successful as several NPM-inspired

Third paragraph will point out the problems in adventure tourism. The forth paragraph will give recommendations for the future and some of the possible future problems in female adventure tourism will be looked at. The last paragraph will be a summary of the key findings and recommendations. Tourism is one of the world’s largest industries (Tisdell, 2000, Swarbrooke et al. 2003, Buckley, 2003). According to UNWTO, international tourist arrivals have reached 1,087 million in 2013. Nash (1995) noted that any human subject of such magnitude should be analysed by anthropological studies, rather than economical. Anthropology is human studies – that investigates the past, the present and the future, culture differences and similarities. Haviland, (1999)
