The Retezat Mountains The Retezat Mountains are among the most noteworthy natural beauties of Romania. Due to its rich biodiversity, most part of this massif has been set up in 1935 as a National Park. Tarantula are a group of hairy and often very large spiders belonging to the family Theraphosidae, of which approximately 900 species have been identified. Some genera of the tarantulas hunt prey primarily in trees and other genera hunt on or near the ground. All tarantulas can produce silk; while arboreal species will typically reside in a silken "tube tent", terrestrial species will line their burrows with silk to stabilize the burrow wall and facilitate climbing up and down. Tarantulas mainly eat insects and other arthropods, using ambush as their primary method of prey capture. The biggest tarantulas can kill animals as large as lizards, mice, and birds. Tarantulas are found in tropical and desert regions around the world. Most tarantulas are harmless to humans, and some species are popular in the exotic pet trade. Some species, while not known to have ever produced human fatalities, have venom that can produce extreme

For example, the introduction of National Service Frameworks (NSFs) in order to try and bring about more consistency and coordination of care for specific conditions, and across different sectors. Other initiatives tend to be concerned with integration between health and other services. Recent examples in the NHS in England have included merging regulators to facilitate joint inspection of health and social care providers; extending incentive payments to providers to encourage and reward joint working; and developing integrated mental health services across health and social care (see case study on page 5). To date, discussions about improving service integration have typically focused on breaking down barriers across service providers. Integration can also involve coordination across commissioners and providers (Lewis and others, 2010)

The nordic countries appear very early on the Dominic anagenda. To reach Tallinn the friars followed the trade route along the southern coast of the Baltic Sea, and reached Estonia some 750 years ago. The monastery in Tallinn was certainly in existence by1246.Constructed in the gothic style, it exhibits a number of Interesting architectural features, and contains the largest collection of carved stones in Estonia. The site of the monastery in the Old City was carefully chosen in order to facilitate both the ministry of the friars and their business interests. They traded in fish in order to support themselves, but their reason for existing was preaching the word of God. The seal of the monastery bore the words `Order of Preachers". The people, however, knew it as "Blackfriars Monastery' because of the black cloak the friars wore in public over their white habit. Accoding to medieval documents the monastery was dedicated to Saint Catherine

Students are without doubt more comfortable with critiquing themselves than others, and therefore they must be taught how to give constructive criticism rather than just criticise (Yang, 2009). Therefore students need to be in an environment that they feel respected and safe in order for them to openly reflect. It is the role of the instructor to create a positive and guided structure for successful reflection. Thirdly, however, although blogs facilitate critical reflection, the instructors' role is paramount to its success. In all cases of blogs' usage teachers are provided with additional workload and require extra time after classes to complete the tasks that will lead to successful use of blogs in EFL studies. The learner needs to be guided and through the process. Whipp (2003) found that without scaffolds in place only 17% of students participated in critical reflection when using an online discussion board

The losses by energy conversion in Europe are of the same magnitude as the European heat
The Communicative Approach Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bW15RpON9M 5 Communicative Language Teaching Activity Part 1 Functions over the forms 4 skills Both accuracy and fluency are evaluated Errors of form are tolerated The goals are fluency in communication, the integration of different language skills, authentic and meaningful communication. The teacher has two main roles: a) to facilitate the communication process in the classroom b) to act as an independent participant within the learning-teaching group. But the teacher talking time (TTT) must be kept to a minimum. The classroom is student-centred. The students share their knowledge, they brainstorm together and present what they already know. What are the goals of teachers who use the method? What is the role of the teacher? What are some characteristics of the teaching and learning process?
· Rocker panel: The rocker panel is the lowest body panel on the side of the car located between the two wheelwells. In most cars, only the edge of the rocker panel is visible when the doors are closed since it supports the bottom of the door. The rocker panel can feature the manufacturer's logo and is usually polished for aesthetic appeal. In light trucks, it can also work as a step to facilitate easier entry into the vehicle. · Roof rack: a set of bars secured to the roof of a motor car.[1] It is used to carry bulky items such as luggage, bicycles, canoes, kayaks, skis, or various carriers and containers. · Spoiler: an automotive aerodynamic device whose intended design function is to 'spoil' unfavourable air movement across a body of a vehicle in motion, usually described as drag
cleft. NEUROTRANSMITTER – A chemical substance, which acts as a messenger between neurones. It is produced (synthesised) inside a neurone and released at a synapse* in response to an action potential* (i.e. voltage-dependent release). Neurotransmitter binds to selective receptors at the postsynaptic membrane, leading to secondary events such as changes in the membrane potential. Inhibitory neurotransmitters act against generation of an action potential, while excitatory neurotransmitters facilitate it. NEUROTROPHIC FACTORS (NEUROTROPHINS) – Biologically active substances of peptide* or protein* structure, produced by glia or neurones within the nervous system. They play important guiding roles in the developing nervous system and appear to provide neuroprotection in the adult brain. Insufficient activity of n.f. may lead to an increased apoptosis (programmed cell death) and neurodegeneration. NOCICEPTOR – A type of sensory receptor* which is present in the skin and visceral

Cultural practices (Tillage):Cultural practices viz. cultivation, crop rotation, application of manures and fertilizers, liming and gypsum application, pesticide/fungicide and weedicide application have their effect on soil organism. Ploughing and tillage operations facilitate aeration in soil and exposure of soil to sunshine and thereby increase the biological activity of organisms, particularly of bacteria. Crop rotation with legume maintains the favorable microbial population balance, particularly of N2 fixing bacteria and thereby improve soil fertility. Liming of acid soils increases activity of bacteria and actinomycetes and lowers the fungal population. Fertilizers and manures applied to the soil for increased crop production, supply

Due to the limited physical size and the limited resolution of computer monitors the chart image generated from ENCs does not fully imitate the known appearance of the paper chart. This apparent disadvantage is compensated by the ENC being a database: special ECDIS operational functions continuously retrieve the ENC content to give warning of impending danger in relation to the vessel’s position and its movement. ENC Data Format In order to facilitate the world-wide uniformity of ENCs issued by different bodies, the IHO Special Publication S-57 “IHO Transfer Standard for Digital Hydrographic Data” is used. S-57 generally describes the standards to be used for the exchange of digital hydrographic data between national Hydrographic Office’s and for the distribution of digital data and products to manufacturers, mariners, and other data users. The current version 3.1 (2004) of S-57 is not limited to ENC compilation, but the

Authentic texts for the classroom that are grade-level appropriate and accessible to English language learners are often unavailable, especially in middle school and high school. As a result, the time-consuming practice of manual text adaptation has become a required task for both ESL and content-area teachers. Research suggests that certain kinds of text modifications, specifically vocabulary expansion and elaboration (i.e., providing synonyms and native language cognates) can facilitate students' comprehension of content in a text. Text Adaptor, a web-based tool, was designed as an authoring tool to support K- 12 teachers in the text adaptation practice. While we continue to develop the tool, it currently incorporates several natural language processing (NLP) capabilities to support automated generation suggested text modifications for classroom texts. Tool suggestions are similar to the kinds of adaptations that teachers might implement for English
Initial and Enduring Involvement Engagement in lifestyle travel was enabled by the participants’ common backgrounds of relative economic privilege and their first-world citizenships that allowed for admission into foreign nation-states. Their largely affluent backgrounds, predominant whiteness and able fit bodies admitted further access to geographically disparate casual employment opportunities, which helped to finance extended periods of backpacking. These structural identifiers that facilitate mobility are also observed by Germann Molz (2006; 2008) in her research on ‘round-the-world travellers’. In addition to trips to Asia, many of this study’s participants had backpacked through Africa, Latin America and Oceania, while a few had ventured to the Middle East. Time in the ‘rich north’ (primarily Europe, North America and Australia) was typically spent in casual employment aimed at financing extended periods in the ‘poor south’,
7. SUMMARY The nursery was finished off with child friendly materials like: water based paints and wooden floor. The ceiling was caulked and later painted white in order to lighten up the room. The walls were also caulked but covered with beige color and some pictures of a widely loved character Winnie the Pooh. The floor was made out of pine that was varnished to slow down the wearing down process and to facilitate the regular care, but also for the child to play more safe on a smooth floor. The room is lightened by a 2,4 m² window that allows enough light to enter the room. Unfortunately there was no opportunity to add tiny stars to the ceiling that glow in the dark because it is forbidden to sell these kind of paints/emulsions in Estonia according to the standards of European Union. 29 8
As any teacher knows it is essential to keep students engaged. With today's tech-savvy generation the key is using technology like laptops, smartphones, and iPads in the classroom. Today's students have grown up with all this technology, so schools must change with the times and adapt to the way students learn best. Classrooms all across the US have already or plan to implement 1:1 (1 device per 1 student) and BYOD (bring your own device) solutions to facilitate the use of all these great technological learning tools. Technology is a central part of our everyday lives now, so of course it should be a key aspect to education in order to prepare students for the real world and their future careers where they will most likely be using mobile devices. With devices like iPads for example, students are no longer confined to a computer class. As soon as an assignment is available students can work on it inside their classroom, at home, while

design of the production system, control of it in order to realize the production intended, and improvement of the production system (Henrich, Bertelsen, Koskela, Kraemer, Rooke, and Owen, 2006). These functionalities should be understood as a coherent system, where design of the production system must be structured as simply as possible to deliver all the expected values and make reducing waste from the processes and operations feasible. It means design should facilitate (i.e., make transparent) operations and improvement. Operations should provide empirical data about the production system to the improvement action (e.g. PPC, see subchapter 3.5.1). Finally, improvement should address both operation and design of the system with relevant information for improvements. People have, in short, become more mobile, both physically and electronically, and even the notion of the global village occurred. According to Cristal, there is no country which does not have some level of accessibility using telephone, radio, television, and air transport, though facilities such as fax, electronic mail and the Internet are much less widely available. The pressure to adopt a single lingua franca, to facilitate communication in such contexts, is considerable. The scale and recency of the development has to be appreciated. In 1945, the United Nations began life with 51 member states. By 1956 this had risen to 80 members. But the independence movements which began at that time led to a massive increase in the number of new nations during the next decade, and this process continued steadily into the 1990s, following the collapse of the USSR. There were 190 member states in 2002 – nearly

presented). The researchers argue that hearing the words activates an associative network (schema). During retrieval people may misinterpret the source of activation and falsely remember the lure as being on the list. Researchers overwhelmingly agree that misinformation can distort eyewitness reports. One of the leading researchers in this, Loftus, claims that the nature of questions can influence witnesses' memory. Leading questions that are suggestive in some way and post-event information facilitate schema processing which may influence accuracy of recall. Loftus designed an experimental procedure in which she manipulated questions after showing the participants a film. In one of the experiments, Loftus and Palmer investigated the role of leading questions. The participants saw a film of traffic accidents and then had to estimate the speed of the cars. They used different verbs in the leading question like hit, smash, collide, bump and contract. The researchers

Virtual design essentially closes the gap between design and construction and significantly facilitates collaboration among design and construction teams (Mitchell, 2009). 1.11. Summary The main theme that emerged from the literature review of academic and industry publications is the importance of collaboration that is needed to facilitate the design and construction of a complex structure. Adopting BIM necessitates a closer form of collaboration (Eastman et al., 2008). The architectural firm has a two-way link in the collaboration. On the one side are the design consultants - structural, mechanical, etc. On the other side are the general contractor and many types of subcontractors and fabricators providing early input of constructability, so that there is a smooth transition from design intent into realization
