The part about ‘the sisters ’ made me feel badly, because what they do is inhuman.

Andy threatened to throw Hexlite into first four men eyes who attacked him.

Bogs was badly beaten and found in his cell.

The present that Andy gave to Red was two pieces of quartz, which were polished. Special about it was, that it took so long for Andy to finish them.

Andy asked Byron Hadley if he thinks he can trust his wife, because Hadley was complaining about government , because they were going to take taxes from devise that Hadley got from his dead brother and Andy had an idea how to not pay government a penny.

Andy offered that he’ll do the paperwork for Hadley if each his co- worker get three bottles of beer.

Greg Stammas was new chief in Shawshank.

Andy and Red both didn’t like pills.

Normandean said that in Andy’s cell was too big draught.

Norton instituted program called ’inside-out’. It was about prisoners working outside of jail and Norton used it to get money . Prisoners were working for minimum wage and normal companies outside cannot compete with the cost of Inside-Out workers , so sometimes they offer Norton money.

Norton used prison library to keep Andy in line and helping him with all his schemes.

Tommy Williams is important to the story, because he knew guy in Rhode Island prison, who actually killed Andy’s wife and her lover, and he told that story to Andy.

Andy was in solitary for twenty days.

Andy had lines in his face , his hair was a little bit gray, he had lost his smile and he stared into space more often after he got out of solitary.

Tommy Williams was transfered to low- security prison called Cashman.

Andy’s punishment was thirty days in solitary, he got another black mark and if he really isn’t going to do money laundy for Norton anymore, Norton will destroy library.

Peter Stevens is a nobody . Peter Stevems didn’t exist . He was false identity created by Andy’s good friend Jim. Peter Stevens was so important, because he was part of Andy’s escape plan.

Andy just had to go to Buxton and get the key that opens box in Casco bank in Portland and then go to Portland and open that box to get money that Jim had invested for him.

Andy escaped from Shawshank on 12 March 1975.

Rory Tremont lost his last couple of meals when he went throuh the hole that Andy had created(I have no idea what it means , but it was written in the book).
Differences between movie and book:

The men's lengthy discussion about institutionalization was not in the novel . However , Red does mention a bit about this topic at one point.
The scene where the guard beats the new ' fish ' so badly that he dies after being left in the infirmary over night never happened in the novel.
The ' record playing' incident never happened in the novel.
Jake was not a crow but a pigeon in the novel. What becomes of the bird after Brooks sets him free is uncertain in the movie, but in the book, he is found dead in the courtyard shortly after his release .
Red and his friends did not give a sack of rocks as a present to Andy in the novel.
Red was paroled after only thirty- eight years instead of forty.
The postcard received from where Andy crossed the United States – Mexico border was not from Fort Hancock , Texas but from another town in the state named "McNary".
The prison yard is never asphalted in the movie.
Every year in Shawshank, Andy buys a bottle of Jack Daniels before his birthday and Christmas . He drinks a few shots and gives it back to Red to pass it around the other inmates. In the movie Andy says he "gave up drinking ."
Andy did not steal warden Norton's shoes and clothes in the novel, nor did he ask Heywood for a line of rope.
