Somerset Maugham "French Joe" kokkuvõte!!

As a lieutenant of artillery like his cousin Bonaparte, he had fought the Russians in the Crimea and also as a captain in the Prussians in 1870. Joe showed him his scar in his bald head from an Uhlan's lance, but he put the sword thorugh Uhlan's body and he dropped dead. Later Joe joined the communists, Monsieur Thiers, for 6 weeks. After that he was sentenced to 5 years in New Caledonia. He was really angry when he talked about the Uhlans, even though it happened a half century ago. He wished he was shot instead of put in prison. He was a political prisoner but he was treated like vulgar criminal. After that came the long journey in sailing ship with prisoners, the ship out in Melbourne, one of the officers (fellow-Corsican) enabled him to slip over the side. He swam ashore and went straight to the police station, where no one could understand him. They sent a translator to help him out, his

Then he crashed. As a result the crates, where the chickens were held, went to pieces and chickens broke free. At the moment there is a real chaos in the middle on Mellowtown, chickens everywhere and pieces of the crates also. And what's worst, as there is worldwide bird flu epidemic, people are frightened maybe some of the chickens are diseased and that they could catch the infection. All the citizens look shocked. I asked local police officer Arthur Brown to comment what had happened. He said it is early to answer. He is still investigating, but he added that it seems that the farmer had been careless, because the load wasn't secured properly. Officer Brown said that the main priority at the moment is to clean up the mess and to catch all the chickens before they make more damage. I caught a witness, a photographer Jane Lens, who was at the scene when it all happened. I asked her, why did the accident happen, she said that the farmer was obviously driving too fast

The Amityville horror

The film is directed by Andrew Douglas and the story takes place in a Long Island home in the `70s. The movie begins with a gruesome sight, where the entire family was brutally slaughtered by the father. He explained to the police that the voices in side his head made him do it. One year later a family of five was looking for a new place to live. They stumbled across that same building, where the mass murder had happened. Despite the tragedy they bought it because of the low price. Georg, the father of the family, even said that houses do not kill people. The Lutzs moved eagerly in and started to live their American Dream. But strange things began to take place, which happened more and more often. Kathy, the mother of the family, felt worried and went to the library for more information about the house. It is then she found out another dark secret, which seized her with terror.

my life, I flustered. The fact that someone I'm related to will never be here again, made me feel really scared and uncomfortable. What if it was someone really close to me? What will I do when that happens? How will I handle that? What if one day the most important person I have at that time disappears by my side? How is it even possible to handle that? Another example - when I was younger, every time something bad happened in the world, I didn't honestly care. When thousands died in 9/11 attacks, I didn't know how to react, so I didn't react at all. I was ten, it was all of no significance to me and somewhere far away. Now every time I see Haiti in the news, I shiver. I try to ignore thinking about it, though. I can't imagine all the people there without food, homes and families. This is all real, it's really happening there. Just the other day I was talking to my best friend about the past, present and future

fortress date from the year 1322. This is one of the possible explanations for the origin of Vastseliina`s name. The fact that the communications of southern Old Livonia with Pskov and other parts of Russia ran mainly through Vastseliina gives testimony of its importance. Vastseliina was not only remarkable as a border castle. One can find a letter from the Archbishop of Riga to Pope Innocent VI from the year 1354 in the register of supplications in Avignon, which describes a miracle that happened in the chapel of Vastseliina castle. On a September night in 1353 music was heard from the empty castle chapel and people saw two wax candles burn with a supernatural light. The cross, which was otherwise attached to the wall in the northern part of the altar, was now standing in the middle of the altar without any support. The cross was still there during the writing of the letter in January 1354. Pilgrims started to flow to Vastseliina

The field includes editing, photojournalism, and documentary. History of journalism. Ancient journalism. Note: "Journalism" is often called the first draft of history, but not all of it has to get written down in real time. A "Journalist" can write today about events that happened yesterday or a week ago. Here are some examples of ancient journalism: Nicolas of Damascus - chief advisor to King Herod the Great, Nicolas also wrote the history of those days during Herod's life. Character sketch - Melanie, Oranges are not the only fruit by Jeanette Winterson

Melanie left to stay with her relatives in Halifax and when Jeanette went to visit her Melanie told her that it was wrong to see each other again. After that incident, Melanie was dead for Jeanette who was angry because Melanie was so weak. Melanie had gone away before starting university and the girls didn't meet until some time later. Melanie had put on some weight and looked serene. She chatted about her course, friends and her holiday plans like nothing romantic had ever happened between the two. One year later they met again. Melanie announced that she was to be married to an army man. Jeanette didn't like the groom. I objected to her getting married to him. And she was serene, serene to the point of being bovine. I was so angry I tried to talk to her about it, but she had left her brain in Bangor. Jeanette also left her hometown and during the second year away from home she met Melanie by accident. If

Bullying

inside you that you really want to kill that person who is bullying you. It's hard to talk about serious things with adults sometimes, but they can help to stop bullying. Tell an adult that you trust and can talk to your parents, your teacher, your best friends or even your neighbour. If you've told a grown-up before and they haven't done anything about it, tell someone else. Having someone else there to support you can make it a lot less scary. Tell the adults exactly what has happened - who did the bullying, where and when it happened, how long it's been happening to you, and how it's making you feel. If you talk with an adult at your school, ask them what they will do to help stop the bullying. It is their job to help keep you safe. Most adults really care about bullying and will do everything they can to help you. Fortunately bullying is not such a big problem in Estonia than it is in USA, regrettably it still exists

A circle of time

The book flashes back and forth between the hospital, with Becky in Allison's body and about to undergo brain surgery and 1906 on a California estate owned by a wealthy Spanish family. There, Allison meets Joshua, who was Becky Thompson's boyfriend before her untimely death. Once she convinces him of her situation, he becomes her ally and helps her change history. The focus shifts to Sadie Thompson and Don Carlos, the estate owner, and the mystery of what happened to his daughter's baby years earlier. While Allison's lessons to Joshua about feminist history detract a bit from the sense of urgency, this is still an enjoyable, compelling read. In the end Allison manages to prevent Becky's and Joshua's death. He finds out that Becky is don Carlos's grand daughter. After all this is over Becky lets Allison return her own body. ElizabethI

Elizabeth I When Elizabeth was a young girl, the times in Englad were quite confusing and the fight over the throne of England was in the highest point. Of course a major problem was the religion. Elizabeth was a protestant but Mary, the queen of England believed truly in the catholic church. Mary unfortunately died and Elizabeth became the next queen of England. There remained some lords and members of the council who were not loyal to Elizabeth. Many of them wanted to see her dead, but she managed to be alive. The throne was still in endangered by Mary Stuart but the queen moved fast and let Mary killed. Elizabeth was living a hard life because she had to stand for the people of England and make many important decisions. He murdered Nancy. Mr. Bumble is a beadle who works for the workhouse where Oliver is born. He behaves without compassion toward the children’s. In my opinion, the movie is a good movie and it worth of watching. It is a good to know what happened at England in 18. Century and what children’s had to do, to survive in community. My favourite character is Nancy who didn’t want that Sikes abuse Oliver and she gives her life for Oliver. Andree Hein 8. A
