How genre and narrative makes meaning in ``The Black Dahlia`` When analyzing a film, people understand the movie is much more complicated than it seems. To make a difference, to give a meaning to the film, film-makers have used different visual and thematic features. There are macro features (genre, narrative) as well as micro features (mise en scene, cinematography) and they are linked together in many ways. I have chosen to analyse the closing sequence of ``The Black Dahlia``, directed by Brian de Palma, and I will focus on macro features in this essay. Brian de Palma is well known director, who is focused on noir area through his career (he was once considered as a Hitchcock imitator) ``The Black Dahlia" can be classified as Film Noir. It was a quit.e big suprise, because they were all very young. At this play there were two first actors Terje Pennie and Anti Kobin who played the students of music school. The action took place in very many different places and during many different years. For example in one scene the year was 1923 and the action took place in one of the piano teacher's home because the school was too full of people. The other scene took place in 1945 when school students arranged a party. Of cource they got caught. This party implicated such much trouble that some students had to leave the school. Unbelievable how selfish and rude they are! And no-one can do anything about that. If they say so then all the people around them have to act like they wish. They are absolutely innocently taking the advantage of other innocent people. Certainly we cannot talk about all disabled people from that point of view, but the exception affirms the rule. And in Britain, you can find a lot of exceptions. The second thing which also amused me was the humiliation of other people for unjustified reasons. The scene of a transsexual lady, feeling sick and puking in the teacup was a perfect example of humiliation in nowadays just in different context. It is a real problematic topic every single country and it only gets worse. Actually it is quite sad that people are only laughing at it, ignoring the problem whether they see it or not. Leicester Square is now home to some of London's largest cinemas and is the venue for many premiers. I recommend that film for everyone because everyone have a family and when you see that film, then maybe you realized, that your family is quite good and not the worstest. All the film is about are corruption and different characters who manage themselves through the grimy and violent city. Frank Miller had bring some remarkable characters into his comic novel like Marv, who is huge hulking thug and almost impossible to kill. I was very impressed by that film. It gave me a whole new movie experience. Every scene looked like a masterpiece. Actually every frame was like a perfect photo of a city full of violence and passion. Sin City is a "must see" movie. It gives a very much new ideas about cinematography. For someone who loves Frank Millers work should certainly see Sin City as a film.

Muusikal ,,Fame" 3. novemril käisin Tallinna Linnahallis vaatamas ja kuulamas muusikali ,,Fame". Muusikal rääkis noortest, kel oli suur tahe saada kuulsaks. Veel rääkis see nende läbikukkumistest, saavutistest, õppimistest ning armastusest. Muusikali esitati vokaal-ja instrumentaalmuusikat. Tegelik helilooja on Steven Margoshes. Eestis lavastas selle muusikali Jüri Nael. Esinesid Kaire Vilgats, Ülle Lichtfield, Hannes Kaljujärv ja Andres Vaarik ( Õpetajate osatäitjatena). Õpilaste osatäitjatena olit tuntumad Susan Lilleväli, Rolf Roosalu, Nele-Liis Vaiksoo, Kaido Põldma ja Taavi Immato. ,,Fame" on teistest muusikalidest erinev, kuna seal oli pandud rohkem rõhku tantsule ja efeksusele.
