planet in the decades to come will be global climate disruption due to the buildup of human-generated greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. • People around the world are beginning to address the problem by reducing their carbon footprint through less consumption and better technology. • But unsustainable human population growth can overwhelm those efforts, leading us to conclude that we not only need smaller footprints, but fewer feet. Elevated Crime Rate • As human overpopulation drives resources and basic necessities, such as food and water, to become scarcer, there will be increased competitiveness for these resources which leads to elevated crime rates due to drug cartels and theft by people in order to survive. • It has been observed that the countries which have balanced population, crime rate is very low in such regions. When people are not provided with the basic necessities, it elevates crime rate."

PRODUCT ERGONOMIC KEBOARD A "fixed-split keyboard" is a single board, with the keys separated into two or three groups, allowing the user to type at a different angle than the typical straight keyboard. An "adjustable split keyboard" has the keyboard split into several independent pieces, so the angle between them can be easily changed. Either of these types of keyboards may include elevated sections at various angles. Other ergonomic keyboards have fixed, vertically aligned keys, so the user types with their hands perpendicular to the ground, thumbs-up. Still others allow a range of rotation and elevations. Simple ergonomic keyboards can cost as little as typical keyboards or as much as $995 for high end keyboards. An ergonomic keyboard may reduce muscle strain and reduce risk of Carpal Tunnel syndrome, but there is no clear evidence of benefit

Why does Marx elevate proletariat? Do you see Wright doing the same? What do you think why? In Karl Marx’s eyes, the society was divided into two classes – the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. He considered bourgeoisie to be the upper class and proletariat the lower class, also known as the working class, which he elevated and believed more in. On the other hand, a man named Erik Olin Wright had a different set of mind. Firstly, Karl Marx thought that proletariat was more powerful than bourgeoisie, because he believed, that if there would be a revolution one day, then it would be carried out by the proletariat. In work, Marx saw a form of human self-expression, which the capitalist mode of production did not allow to develop. He claimed, that the pressure would arise interest in economics and politcs
Metallica has influenced plenty of rock and metal artists these days, like Sepultura, KoRn, Slipknot, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, and avenged septuple. In a review of their concert, it was amazing. Their melodic touch to the “trashiness” was beautifully placed and gave their songs an edge over the others. For example: Fight fire with fire, Battery, Fade to Black, and constant use of melodic sections as seen in Master of Puppets as well. But what really elevated Metallica in my eyes was the album And Justice for All (AJFA), it showed more of their technical side with well thought out phrasing and intricate guitar work, one Song in particular “To live is to Die” is what I consider their best instrumental and Metallica at its peak. One other thing that people don't seem to credit Metallica with is their lyrics. Their lyrical department has always been strong whether it's related to political tension, self-loathing, or social evils
the longest cantilever bridge in the world. The Forth Bridge remains the second longest. First steel structure The bridge was built in steel alone, the first bridge in Britain to use that material. It was the first major structure in Britain to be constructed of steel; Its contemporary, the Eiffel Tower was built of wrought iron. Construction The bridge is, even today, regarded as an engineering marvel. It is 2.5 km (1.5 miles) in length, and the double track is elevated 46 m (approx. 150 ft) above high tide. It consists of two main spans of 521.3 m (1,710 ft), two side spans of 207.3 m, and 15 approach spans of 51.2 m (168 ft). Each main span comprises two 207.3 m (680 ft) cantilever arms supporting a central 106.7 m (350 ft) span truss. The three great four-tower cantilever structures are 100.6 m (330 ft) tall, each 70 ft (21 m) diameter foot resting on a separate foundation. The southern group of foundations had to be constructed as caissons under
Eighteen kilometers from Kuressaare towards Kuivastu is the location of Estonia's most unique geological object, Kaali lake. The meteoric origin of the lake basin was first suggested by J. Kalkun-Kaljuvee in 1922. The crater walls are covered with trees and vegetation. A path around the rim of the crater allows you to observe it from all sides. The water level of the lake changes with the seasons, as you can see from the photos below. When the lake is nearly dry a small elevated central mound appears in the lake, distinctive of impact craters. Symbols of Saaremaa Bread. Saaremaa and sour-sweet bread seem to be inseparable. Basketball was invented 1891 in Springfield by the local university physical education teacher James Naismith. He was trying to keep his gym class active on a rainy day. He sought a vigorous indoor game to keep his students occupied and at proper levels of fitness during the long New England winters. After rejecting other ideas as either too rough or poorly suited to walled-in gymnasiums, he wrote the basic rules and nailed a peach basket onto a 3,05 m elevated track. In contrast with modern basketball nets, this peach basket retained its bottom, and balls had to be retrieved manually after each "basket" or point scored. In January 1892 there was also the first official competition with nine players which ended at 1-0; the shot was made fron 7,6 m on a court just half the size of a present-day court. Basketball was spread from USA to Asia, Europe and South America. At the end of the 19th century began professional basketball. (Wikipedia 29.05
real estate. It is ideal to live on the coast, due to a more moderate climate and pleasant scenery, but beachfront property is at risk from eroding land and rising sea levels. Since the threat posed by rising sea levels has become more prominent, property owners and local government have taken measures to prepare for the worst. Additionally, many coastal states add sand to their beaches to offset shore erosion, and many property owners have elevated their structures in low-lying areas. As a result of the erosion and ruin of properties by large storms on coastal lands, governments have looked into buying land and having residents relocate further inland. The elevated area of Toompea Hill with its castle was occupied by the residences of Tallinn's rulers and gentry. Generally speaking these two districts are now collectively referred as the Old Town. The Town wall and towers
Acid Rain Acid rain is any precipitation that is unusually acidic. It possesses elevated levels of hydrogen ions(it has low pH level). Acid rain is caused by emissions of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, which react with water molecules. Distilled water(doesn't contain CO 2), has pH level 7. Liquids with pH level less than 7 are acidic, liquids with pH level greater than 7 are alkaline. Unpolluted rain has a pH level over 5.7, so it is slightly acidic. Affected areas

Function: 1. recreate truthfully the atmosphere of a certain period (historical novels). 2. to parody historical novels (in this case archaic words are used extremely often). 3. to stress the characteristic toutchness of the past. Three forces to attack the waves There are three forces that are responsible for wave formation. Two of them (gravitational force and Coriolis force) are supporting the formation, one of them (surface tension) reduces the high of waves. At first the gravitational force: This one out of four forces in physics is dominant for wave generation. The gravitational force drives the water from the crest of a wave to wave through. Because of this the potential energy of the elevated water masses is converted into kinetic energy of the waves. The coriolis force is a minor one. This force force is caused by the rotation of the earth. Waves which are caused by this force are very long. The wavelength could be about one km. The surface tension works against the two forces mentioned above. The force caused by the tension of the surface is low and provokes more smaller waves. From stresses to waves

First, witches are accused of every conceivable sexual crime against men. Quite simply, they are ,,accused" of female sexuality. Second, they are accused of being organized. Third, they are accused of häving magical powers affecting health of harming, but also of healing. They were often charged specifically with posessing medical and obstetrical skills. First, consider the charge of sexual crimes. The medievaal Catholic Church elevated sexism to a point of principle: The Malleus declares, ,,When a woman thinks alone, she thinks evil." The Church associated women with sex, and all pleasure in sex was condemned, because it could only come from the devil. Witches were supposed to have gotten pleasure from copulation with the devil and they in turn infected men. Lust in either man or wife, then, was blamed on the female. On the ohter hand, witchs were accused of making men impotent. As for female sexuality, witches

At the end of Eliot’s career – plays, e.g. “Murder in the Cathedral” (1935). Also a critic – criticism and poetry become almost indistinguishable. Virginia Woolf

Railroads, the transportation mode that revolutionized the 19th century, generated a bridge type that merits special attention. The limited traction of locomotives forced the railroad engineer to design the line with easy gradients. Viaducts and trestles were the engineering solution for maintaining a nearly straight and horizontal line where the depth and width of the valley or gorge rendered embankments impracticable. These massive, elevated structures were first built in Roman style of multiple-stone arches and piers. Later, when wrought iron and steel became available, engineers built viaducts and trestles of great length and height on a series of truss spans or girders borne by individual framed towers composed of two or more bents braced together. Figure 13 Thomas Viaduct (1835), Relay, Maryland (USA). This illustration from The United States Illustrated, published in the 1850s, shows the heroic
It turns out, at least with animals, that much less is needed than was once thought. In one fascinating Japanese study with rats, high-intensity intermittent exercise (HIT) (20-second sprints × 14 sets, with 10 seconds of rest between sets) was compared to low-intensity prolonged exercise (LIT) (six hours of extended exercise) over eight days. The surprising result? Bolding is mine: In conclusion, the present investigation demonstrated that 8 days of HIT lasting only 280 seconds elevated both GLUT-4 content and maximal glucose transport activity in rat skeletal muscle to a level similar to that attained after LIT ["Low-Intensity Training" of six hours a session], which has been considered a tool to increase GLUT-4 content maximally. Compared to a control, GLUT-4 content in the muscle was increased 83% with 280 seconds of HIT vs. 91% with six hours of LIT. Now, of course, animal models don't always have a direct transfer to humans. But I

During dinner, Mr. Bennet scarcely spoke at all; but when the servants were withdrawn, he thought it time to have some conversation with his guest, and therefore started a subject in which he expected him to shine, by observing that he seemed very fortunate in his patroness. Lady Catherine de Bourgh's attention to his wishes, and consideration for his comfort, appeared very remarkable. Mr. Bennet could not have chosen better. Mr. Collins was eloquent in her praise. The subject elevated him to more than usual solemnity of manner, and with a most important aspect he protested that "he had never in his life witnessed such behaviour in a person of rank--such affability and condescension, as he had himself experienced from Lady Catherine. She had been graciously pleased to approve of both of the discourses which he had already had the honour of preaching before her. She had also asked him twice to dine at Rosings, and had sent for him only the Saturday before,
elements and so have much less opportunity to individualize themselves. There are 26 letters but 676 digraphs; the two most frequent English letters, e and t, average frequencies of 12 and 9 per cent; the two most frequent English digraphs, th and he, reach only 31/* and 2V2 per cent. In other words, not only are there more units to choose among, the units are less sharply differentiated. The difficulties are doubly doubled. These properties elevated the cipher above most of its contemporaries purely on cryptographic considerations; it was, properly, regarded as unbreakable. Its many practical excellences—no tables or apparatus required, a keyword that could easily be remembered and changed, great simplicity of operation—commended it as a field cipher. Play-fair suggested that it be used as just that in the impending Crimean War when he brought it up at the dinner with Prince Albert.
