Estonia was settled near the end of the last glacial era, beginning from around 8500 BC. Before the Germans invaded in the 13th century proto-Estonians of the Ancient Estonia worshipped the spirits of nature. Since the Northern Crusades Estonia became a battleground for centuries where Denmark, Germany, Russia, Sweden and Poland fought their many wars over controlling the important geographical position of the country as a gateway between East and West. Being conquered by Danes and Germans in 1227, Estonia was ruled initially by Denmark in the north, by the Livonian Order, an autonomous part of the Monastic state of the Teutonic Knights and Baltic German ecclesiastical states of the Holy Roman Empire. Konrad Mägi Konrad Mägi was born at Hellenurme, Tartu on November 1, 1878. He was an Estonian landscape painter and a teacher. He has also participated in the foundation of the art association and school "Pallas". He was one of the most colour-sensitive Estonian painters of the first decades of the 20th century, and Mägi's works on motives of the island of Saaremaa are the first modern Estonian nature paintings. As well as nature paintings, he also painted flowers and portraits. He always used sky in his paintings. His favourite colour was cadmium red, which is quite light and warm red tone. Mägi received his elementary art education from the drawing courses of the German Artisans' Society of Tartu. Church of St. Simeon and the Prophetess Hanna Nestled along a street near Tallinn Harbour is this fairytale, wooden church built in 1752 - 55 on the initiative of Russian sailors. St. Simeon's is the second Orthodox church to have sprung up as part of the suburban building boom that followed the Great Northern War. Since the coastline was considerably closer to the city in those days, the church was built practically on the edge of the water, and its foundation required some landfill. According to legend, rubble from shipwrecks was used for this purpose. The building was seriously damaged during the Soviet period, when it was turned into a sports hall. During this time it also lost its bell tower and onion dome. Fortunately the church was restored after Estonia regained independence, and since 2001, an Estonian Orthodox congregation has once again been active here. It is a touching romantic drama film produced in Estonia that premiered on May 13. 2016. The film was directed by Anu Aun and the film stars are Roland Laos and Jaanika Arum. This film focuses on the development of the relationship between two young people - Mattias and Hannah. "The Polar Boy" has been supported by Estonian Film Foundation. Art Museum of Estonia Art Museum of Estonia was founded on November 17th, 1919, but it was not until 1921 that it got its first permanent building the Kadriorg Palace, built in the 18th century. In 1929 the palace was expropriated from the Art Museum in order to rebuild it as the residence of the President of Estonia. The Art Museum of Estonia was housed in several different temporary spaces, until it moved back to the palace in 1946. In September, 1991 the Kadriorg Palace was closed, because it had totally deteriorated by then. At the end of the year the Supreme Council of the Republic of Estonia decided to guarantee the construction of a new building for the Art Museum of Estonia in Kadriorg. 1. Millest tulenevad põhiliselt (majandus)poliitika alternatiivid? Poliitika tähendab alati valikute tegemist alternatiivsete tegutsemisvõimaluste hulgast. Alternatiivid tulenevad aga põhiliselt erinevatest (grupi)huvidest. (Majanduslik) huvi on inimeste käitumist motiveerivate teadvustatud (osalt ka teadvustamata) väärtushinnangute kompleks, mis kujundab vajadusi ja ajendab neid rahuldama. Majandusteaduses käsitletakse huvi kui inimese selgelt väljendatud taotlust rahuldada oma vajadusi. Elementaarsel kujul on inimeste huvid suhteliselt ühesugused, väljendudes vajaduses rahuldada nälga, külma, tagada oma isiklik julgeolek jne. Mida enam võimalusi tekib, seda individualiseeritumaks inimeste huvid muutuvad ja üksteisest erinevad, seda rohkem avaldub nende vahel ka vastuolusid. Inimeste huvid on väga erinevad. Sissejuhatus Majanduspoliitika loengukonspekti käesolev variant on pärit 2015. aasta kevadest. Selle alusel lugesin ma õppeainet TTP0010 “Majanduspoliitika” TTÜ majandusteaduskonna bakalaureuse õppekava üliõpilastele 2015/2016. õppeaasta sügissemestri teisel poolel. Kahtlemata muutub Eesti majanduslik ja sotsiaalne olukord väga kiiresti ning seetõttu peab paratamatult muutuma ka majanduspoliitika loengukursus. Kuid käesolev loengukonspekt on loodetavasti siiski õppematerjalina kasutatav ka lähiaastatel. Peaaegu kõik, mis loengukonspektis kirjas, on varem juba kusagil öeldud. Õppematerjali puhul ei tohiks see aga olla puudus – tekst püüab edasi anda olemasolevaid teadmisi. See loengukonspekt ei pretendeeri õppematerjalina mitte mingil juhul teaduslikule uudsusele ja selles on vähe viiteid.
