With Soviet forces hastily retreating and German forces advancing, the Maapäev elected a three-member Salvation Committee, Päästekomitee, and granted it full decision-making powers to ensure the continued activity of the Maapäev. After declaring its independence, Estonia was forced to fight a war of independence against Soviet Russia and German forces. During this war, Estonia secured its borders and concluded the Tartu Peace Treaty with Soviet Russia on February 2, 1920. when a woman has more than one husband it is called polyandry. If there are multiple wives and husbands it can be called group marriage. Mormonism is to say that it was dedicated to restoring everything in the Bible. Joseph Smith,Jr., Mormonism's founding prophet, who felt especially close to the Old Testament, believed his mission was to restore the customs from the Old Testament including the ancient Semitic custom of plural marriage. He himself did not acknowledge having multiple wives publicly since it was illegal. After Joseph Smith's murder by a mob on June 27, 1844, the main body of Mormons followed Brigham Young to Utah where the practice of plural marriage continued. Polygamy was illegal in all US territories. Very harsh anti- polygamy legislation in the US led some Mormons to emigrate to Canada and Mexico. what are they celebrating. Every culture has its own folklore and traditions, language and cuisine. All of these factors influence persons´ future and identity. Reading assumptions described by Wetherell and Maybin, I found myself recognising and sharing them. First, very important trait for persons from counties “such as the UK and USA” is democracy of expression. I do think, that in Arabic culture there is no such freedom to express yourself publicly, that just don ´t suit their traditions. Second, I find very important a role of experience. So I´m free to try something, to go abroad or to choose different profession. I´m not limited in my decisions by family or country. And last important assumption, what I really share is tolerance and respecting others individuality. In our culture I can dress like I want and I can think the way I want – and I know, that other people have the same rights.

planners often take the results of a simple mechanical projection as if that were an accurate prediction of the most probable future (a forecast). How freely should planners seek to shape the future? An effective planner might introduce judgment into an analysis that causes the forecast to support a desired future. Forecasting can involve a complex series of calculations that embed a host of core assumptions, many of which are not publicly divulged. The planning researcher often faces uncertainty in his or her own mind regarding specific assumptions. When supervisors or clients apply pressure to reconsider particular assumptions that are critical to the forecast result, the researcher often does not possess sufficient certitude to resist. Describe how at least three of these (or other) factors might explain social order, and discuss the extent to which you find the explanations convincing. Introduction For societies to cohere and cooperate, it is necessary for individuals within them to have a predictable and collaborative behaviour. The presence of social order enables individuals to feel more secure publicly, as it enables them to somewhat predict their lives. Social order is also necessary for stability and serves as the basis for collective advancements. There are several theories and explanations for why social order persists and emerges. Hechter and Horne in the reader Theories of Social Order present several widely-acknowledged explanations for social order. In this essay, the explanations regarding a shared meaning, norms and values and power and authority are explained

During an inspection, Jane accidentally breaks her slate, and Mr. Brocklehurst, the self-righteous clergyman who runs the school, brands her as a liar and shames her before the entire assembly. MTV responded to the criticism by canceling all airings of Jackass before 10:00 PM,

Pre-Civil War In 1851, Douglass merged the North Star with Gerrit Smith's Liberty Party Paper to form Frederick Douglass' Paper, which was published until 1860. Douglass came to agree with Smith and Lysander Spooner that the United States Constitution is an anti-slavery document, reversing his earlier belief that it was pro-slavery, a view he had shared with William Lloyd Garrison. Garrison had publicly demonstrated his opinion of the Constitution by burning copies of it. Douglass' change of position on the Constitution was one of the most notable incidents of a division that emerged in the abolitionist movement after the publication of Spooner's book The Unconstitutionality of Slavery in 1846. This shift in opinion, as well as some other political differences, created a rift between Douglass and Garrison. Douglass further angered Garrison by saying that the

The war began when Iraq invaded Iran on 22 September 1980. In 1982 with Iranian success on the battlefield, the U.S started to support Iraq publicly. This support included several billion dollars worth of economic aid, the sale of dual-use technology, non-U.S. origin weaponry, military intelligence, Special Operations training, and direct involvement in warfare against Iran. In 1982, Iraq was removed from a list of State Sponsors of Terrorism to ease the transfer of dual-use technology to that country. President Ronald Reagan initiated a strategic opening to Iraq, signing
These rights are at the base of a fair trial. A fair trial can be seen as an objective establishment of truth. Doing this by means of forcing confessions cannot be seen as objectively valid and can thus not be considered as evidence in a fair trial. How much importance utilitarians would see in this is disputable, as by stating that torture is acceptable in certain circumstances, they also could argue an unfair trial is acceptable in certain circumstances. Regardless, if one wishes to publicly trial a person after they have been tortured, in the eyes of the general public the laws will have to be adhered to and thus grounded evidence must have been obtained by then in order to be able to present it. Failing to do so and deciding to take action behind closed doors would then just be an extension of the lawlessness one has until that moment abided by and if notions could have been stretched to an extent, it now would simply become an outlaw-act.
The process of developing a sustainability report provides a warning of trouble spots – and unanticipated opportunities – in supply chains, in communities, among regulations, and in reputation and brand management. Sustainability reporting helps sharpen management’s ability to assess the organizations contribution to natural, human, and social capital. Sustainability reporting may reduce volatility and uncertainty in share price for publicly traded enterprises, as well as reducing the cost of capital. 6 2. He was a zealous believer in witchcraft was determined to root out any remaining 'witches'. Thankfully he left in early January 1693. Finally in May 1693 Governor Phips pardoned all those in prison (either convicted or awaiting trial). In 1696 some jurors admitted they had made a terrible mistake. In 1697 a day of fasting and praying for forgiveness was held. It was called the Day of Official Humiliation. One of the judges who presided over the witch trials, Samuel Sewall, publicly apologised. Why did it happen? Nobody is certain but a number of theories have been put forward. It has been suggested that the people of Salem felt insecure and this was a contributing factor to the hysteria. They were afraid of Indian attacks and afraid of smallpox. Furthermore in 1684 King Charles II revoked the Massachusetts Bay charter. Although he gave another charter in 1691 this may have increased the atmosphere of fear and uncertainty
In fact, it has been shown that Black people spend more money on purchasing musical equipment than any other group, but do we produce any these products? The answer is a resounding NO! Do we even have a factory owned by a Black person where these musical products are assembled? The answer is a resounding NO! In fact, Africans consume more Japanese products percentage wise than any other group, yet the Japanese have nothing but scorn for the African. Even two of their former Prime Ministers publicly made the observation that Black people were inferior in intelligence. If they said this in public, you wonder what they were saying in private. Mind you, these are Prime Ministers – heads of Japanese government, a reflection of the totality of the Japanese mind. Yet, when you enter the New York Subway, the people you see with walkmans on their heads and ears are 95 percent Black people. It a shame and a crime. It does not happen only in the subway system of New York
"Levin got up and escorted Kitty to the door. In their conversation everything had been said; it had been said that she loved him, and that she would tell her father and mother that he would come tomorrow morning." This is an example of the fact that Levin and Kitty relate to each other on a subconscious, intuitive level. They equal harmony, the kind Levin has always been searching for. The same could hardly be said of Anna and Vronsky. Levin finally asks publicly for Kitty to be his wife, and her parents are thrilled. He apologizes to her that he is not a virgin. She forgives him. Chapters 16-23 Karenin gets word that Anna is dying. Through a telegram, she asks him to come see her. At first, he doesn't believe she can be dying. After all, she has lied a thousand times. Still, he needs to see her. Once he gets there, he meets Anna's new illegitimate daughter and finds Anna herself suffering from a high fever

The proportion of Members in a Public Bill Committee mirrors the political parties' strengths in the Commons, so there is always a government majority. Reports Public Bill Committees examine each Bill line by line. Once a committee has finished looking at a Bill, it reports its conclusions and any amendments made to the Commons, where Members debate the Bill further. The Bill is printed again with the amendments made by the Public Bill Committee; this is publicly available in printed and online formats. Although the Lords do not meet in Public Bill Committees, they have a report stage to allow further consideration of Bills. Other General Committees Additional General Committees exist to debate matters in specific areas, such as the Scottish Grand Committee, the Welsh Grand Committee, the Northern Ireland Grand Committee; committees on Delegated Legislation and European documents. Select committees work in both Houses
