South Carolina. The movie is mostly about a 14 year-old girl named Lily who is haunted by the memory of her late mother. And to escape the lonely and sad life that she has with her father she flees with Rosaleen and they fled to a town in South Carolina. There they start to work in the honey industry. Lily also meets Zach there. The movie was very interesting to me and a bit different form the book. I think that the casting was done great and many of the characters were exactly how I imagined them to be. The movie was really good and I would recommend it highly.

world Pratchett has created. And to even make things weirder, Death seems to be having a personality crisis in this book. It is truly a mind-blowing experience to imagine everything as .vividly as has been described in the book When Death first came to Mort, he offered Mort a job. Maintaining his cruel and calm posture, Death appeared to be just like he has been imagined in novels and movies alike. However, as Mort gets to spend more time with Death, he starts to notice some quirks about him, something .that a mortal would not even dare to wonder about Apparently Death has a daughter. Not biologically, of course, but he had adopted her at an early age. Also, he has a butler called Albert. Now why would Death need a daughter and a butler? Was it so that he could maintain some actual human relations

I've always imagined what the 70's would have looked like and I've even dreamed of living in that time. And now I finally got to see and feel it. I wasn't quite sure where would The Machine bring me, but luckily it worked perfectly and brought me into the New York City. I think that it somehow works on the power of mind and it gets you exactly where and when you want to be. Writing and Me - An Essay

Writing and Me When I was younger I absolutely loved to read books and desperately yearned to be a writer. The idea of waking up in the morning and not having to go to work appealed to me, I imagined the life of a writer as something relaxed and effortless. If I were a writer I could sleep until noon if I wished to, take my morning coffee to the balcony, light a cigarette, let the sun lightly kiss my face and just write. About anything. And it would come naturally. Except it did not. Do you know the feeling after you wake up from a really good dream? When you are desperately clinging to it, trying to remember everything, but it all just floats away as if you

Leonardo da Vinci imagined and sketched the first parachute in the 15 th century. He didn´t invent the clock, but he did design a more accurate one, which had two separate mechanisms: one for minutes and one for hours. Leonardo da Vinci is also believed to be the inventor of scuba gear. The amount of real material was just a little bit too poor for me. In conclusion, this is definitely a movie we will hear about for a long time. It has its advantages for grabbing a vast majority of people with the joy of recognizing and even the critics will not let go the chance to experience the invention of this genius website and the creativity of a so called "ordinary" Harvard student. Facebook has become a part of our everyday life. This is something we could not have imagined even one year ago. I remember when my sister made an account on Facebook in the end of 2006 or in the beginning of 2007. She sent me a friend request, which did not impress me at all and the fact that it seemed quite complicated to even make an account, I cancelled the request and told that it seems like a boring site. She told me:"Believe it or not, but one day Facebook is going to be all over the world and you are going to spend there every single day." In the summer 2009 I decided to

When we finally started surfing I couldn't help but notice how easy it all was. For some unknow reason it wasn't that easy for the lunatic or the retard, maybe it was the fact that they were actually trying to do it properly but we can't be sure. Stress What is stress? Physiologists define stress as how the body reacts to a stressor, real or imagined, a stimulus (erguti) that causes stress. Acute (terav) stressors affect an organism in the short term; chronic stressors over the longer term. The term stress was first employed in a biological context by the endocrinologist Hans Selye in the 1930s The effects of stress: Alarm is the first stage. "He does know it," was Henry's answer. "Does he? then why does he stay here? Why do not you persuade him to go away?" "Persuasion is not at command; but pardon me, if I cannot even endeavour to persuade him. I have myself told him that Miss Thrope is engaged. He knows what he is about, and must be his own master." So Henry refused to talk to his brother because he knew that Isabella was as guilty as him. Soon, Catherine left with the Tilney's for Northanger Abbey. She imagined the abbey to resemble the haunted ruins of the Gothic novels she loved but Northanger Abbey actually turned out to be quite dull although due to her overactive imagination Catherine conjured up different frightening pictures about the place. She became intrigued by the death of Henry's and Eleanor's mother and suspected their father, General Tilney of murdering her. She sneaked into the mother's old chamber but discovered nothing. So many people have written and claimed that their families were the originals of the Forsytes that one has been almost encouraged to believe in the typicality of an imagined species. Manners change and modes evolve, and "Timothy's on the Bayswater Road" becomes a nest of the unbelievable in all except essentials; we shall not look upon its like again, nor perhaps on such a one as James or Old Jolyon. And yet the figures of Insurance Societies and the utterances of Judges reassure us daily that our earthly paradise is still a rich preserve, where the wild raiders, Beauty and Passion, come stealing in, filching security from beneath our noses

The Cataclysmic Death of Stars

Woosley's interest in these bursts goes back decades, when they were so mysterious that over a hundred more or less serious ideas about their cause were in play, from "starquakes" to the exhaust plumes of alien spacecraft. But his fascination deepened in the early 1990s, when a spacecraft called the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory showed that gamma-ray bursts originate far beyond our galaxy. To appear as bright as they do, they had to be more energetic than anyone had imagined--far brighter than supernovas, Woosley's first love. They also needed a source of energy far beyond what any ordinary star could provide. Perhaps the cataclysmic jolt of a collapsing star could somehow be harnessed to produce gamma rays. So Woosley set out to determine how a core-collapse supernova could generate a burst. He and his collaborators, including Andrew MacFadyen of New York University, stage their explosions in computers

It occurred to her that perhaps he hadn't even spoken, that she herself had imagined the whole thing. Maybe, if she went about her business and acted as though she hadn't been listening, then later, when she sort of woke up again, she might find none of it had ever happened. Most importantly, key economic and development issues of today, sustainability, dynamic development, innovation, and technology, actually foster the role of the state in economic growth. The following year, Galileo was summoned [ kutsuti välja ] to Rome and ordered to desist teaching Copernican theory. He was, however, free to think about Copernican theory, but he could not teach it or write about it. Galileo agreed to this condition but still maintained that his mechanical philosophy described the natural world better than any alternative explanation. He was confident, extremely confident, that his position was the correct one. So confident was Galileo that in 1632 he imagined that the decree regarding his public advocacy of Copernican theory could be overturned. He began to criticize the clergy, who would preach the damnability and heresy of the new doctrine from their very pulpits with unwanted confidence, thus doing impious and inconsiderate injury not only to that doctrine and its followers but to all mathematics and mathematicians in general.

whilst backpacking. Fleeting moments of Turnerian ‘communitas’ (1982) also inspired the participants’ most commonly cited ambition, which was to find a new place to call ‘home’. Resembling Cohen’s (1979) ‘existential mode’ of touristic experience, yet more mobile and ephemeral than Benson and O’Reilly’s (2009) idyll-seeking lifestyle migrants, several participants ultimately aspired to find an ideal place to settle. This unspecified idyllic place was imagined as aesthetically pleasing, providing a strong spirit of community and representing value/belief systems congruent to their own. Their contemporary Shrangri-La- esque utopian visions were set in contrast to the perceived ‘toxicity’ of their generating societies, establishing these lifestyle travellers as representative of the most alienated of all tourist types (Maoz & Bekerman, 2010). One manifestation in which tourists inhabit such a

Eriti mõjukaks on osutunud B.Andersoni kontseptsioon kujutatud kogukondadest. ,,Imagined community".

waits for the exhaust fumes to fill his Cavalier Musketeer station wagon. Archie--working-class, ordinary, a failed marriage under his belt--is calling it quits, the deciding factor being the flip of a 20-pence coin. When the owner of a nearby halal butcher shop (annoyed that Archie's car is blocking his delivery area) comes out and bangs on the window, he gives Archie another chance at life and sets in motion this richly imagined, uproariously funny novel. Epic and intimate, hilarious and poignant, White Teeth is the story of two North London families-- one headed by Archie, the other by Archie's best friend, a Muslim Bengali named Samad Iqbal. Pals since they served together in World War II, Archie and Samad are a decidedly unlikely pair. Plodding Archie is typical in every way until he marries Clara, a beautiful, toothless Jamaican

judgment, a story. For you to be right, of course, you need someone else to be wrong, and so the ego loves to make wrong in order to be right. In other words: you need to make others wrong in order to get a stronger sense of who you are. Not only a person, but also a situation can be made wrong through complaining and reactivity, which always implies that “this should not be happening.” Being right places you in a position of imagined moral superiority in relation to the person or situation that is being judged and found wanting. It is that sense of superiority the ego craves and through which it enhances itself. IN DEFENCE OF AN ILLUSION Facts undoubtedly exist. If you say: “Light travels faster than sound,” and someone else says the opposite is the case, you are obviously right, and he is wrong. The simple observation that lightning precedes thunder could confirm this

"But I don't have the time or the inclination to date." "That makes two of us. Glad we got that cleared up." He stepped closer, his hand lifting to my face. I forced myself not to move away or give him the satisfaction of seeing me intimidated. His thumb brushed over the corner of my mouth; then lifted to his own. He sucked on the pad and purred, "Chocolate and you. Delicious." A shiver moved through me, followed by a heated ache between my legs as I imagined licking chocolate off his lethally sexy body. His gaze darkened and his voice lowered intimately. "Romance isn't in my repertoire, Eva. But a thousand ways to make you come are. Let me show you." The car slowed to a halt. He withdrew the key from the panel and the doors opened. I backed into the corner and shooed him out with a flick of my wrist. "I'm really not interested." "We'll discuss." Cross caught me by the elbow and gently, but insistently, urged me out.

*Caesar in Britain - Britain was very rich in minerals but that wasn't the main reason Caesar wanted to defeat it. He could clearly see that Britain was a threat to his latest and greatest conquest - France. He invaded Britain twice, in 55 and 54 BC. The first invasion was unsuccessful - it gained a beachhead on the coast of Kent but achieved little else. The second was more successful, the Celts asked for truce. However it wasn't a victory he had imagined and Julius Caesar never returned to Britain after that. The island was left undisturbed for nearly a century. *The Roman occupation of Britain 43-410 and its legacy Britain was conquered by Emperor Claudius, the Roman rule in England lasted up to 410. The Romans left behind a huge legacy: many types of animals and plants were brought to Britain in Roman times. Roman introduced theire measurements, Christianity, reading and writing. came happy and prosperous. They created an ideal for themselves and then built their lives around living up to it. In a study of successful men and women, most of whom had started from humble beginnings, researchers found that these people had almost all been avid readers of biographies and auto- biographies when they were young. As they read the life stories of famous men and women, they imagined themselves having the same qualities and characters of the people they were studying. When they became adults themselves, those qualities and virtues had become part of their thinking and guided their choices and decisions in later life. Modeling has been used as a powerful way to develop personality and character throughout history. Young people have been encour-

He replied that he had. When I finished skimming the pages, I turned to Nomura and put my eye on him. "I must say," I said, "that in all my conversations with you during the last nine months I have never uttered one worth of untruth. This is borne out absolutely by the record. In all my fifty years of public service I have never seen a document that was more crowded with infamous falsehoods and distortions— infamous falsehoods and distortions on a scale so huge that I never imagined until today that any Government on this planet was capable of uttering them." Nomura seemed about to say something. His face was impassive, but I felt he was under great emotional strain. I stopped him with a motion of my hand. I nodded toward the' door. I called it going into the submarine, a blissful world of concentra tion that called on every cell of my creativity and forced me to articulate my ideas in order to communicate with my creative partners. I could see many ways in which the editing process echoes the writing process, and imagined new possibilities for com bining the two. Angoras and other long-coated cats coming from Persia and Russia. According to the “Illustrated Natural History” by the Rev JG Wood (1853, 1874): There are many varieties of the Domestic Cat, of which the most conspicuous are the MANX CAT and the ANGOLA. [...] the Angola Cat being gorgeous in its superb clothing of long silky hair and bushy tail [...] A fine Angola Cat is as handsome an animal as can be imagined, and seems quite conscious of its own magnificence. It is a very dignified animal, and moves about with a grave solemnity that bears a great resemblance to the stately march of a full-plumed peacock conscious of admiring spectators. It is one of the largest of domestic Cats, and in its own superb manner will consume a considerable amount of food. Wood, a naturalist rather than a cat-fancier, evidently meant the Angora.
