Art of Healing: present and future Health is very important for people. They try to keep themselves healthy because otherwise they would feel miserable. People watch carefully what they eat and many go to regular check-ups. But still people get ill, even the healthiest people catch a cold sometimes. Nothing can prevent accidents to happen. The people who are ill or some kind of an accident has happened to them need help. Medicine is the science and art of healing. It is a science because it is based on knowledge gained through careful study and experimentation. Medicine develops very quickly. Nowadays the doctors can do almost anything they want. Egyptian doctors began to specialize in 2500 B.C. At that time they were already quite skilful. When a man lost a limb there was a big possibility that he would lose too much blood and die or get a blood poisoning before that time.
currently considered a part of conventional medical practice. Alternative therapies include folk medicine, herbal medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture, massage, color and music therapy and several other therapies. Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese therapy that involves inserting needles into the skin at specific points of the body. These points are believed to be energy channels and related to the internal organs. Aromatherapy is the method of healing using very concentrated essential oils that are often highly aromatic and extracted from plants. There are several tehniques used in aromatherapy. Massage is the most familiar method of treatment. Essential oils are able to penetrate through skin and are taken into the body, healing and influencing inner organs. The addition of a number of drops of an essential oil to the bath water is soothing and relaxing, easing aches and pains and banishing tiredness.

Each of the clans had a special sacred place on their land where their spirits returned after death. The daily life and religious beliefs of Aborigines are best described in their paintings. Natural medicines from plants and roots were used to cure illnesses and the healing of the spirit was more important than the healing of the body. 6. European settlers Contact with British settlers began in 1788. The British, thinking that their culture was superior (parim), tried to impose (peale suruda) it on the native Aborigines. The settlers exploited (kurjalt kasutama) the traditional hunting lands of the Aborigines by intensive, large-scale agriculture, sheep herding and cutting down the forests. History Human beings have suffered from diseases since they first appeared on Earth. Because of that medicines history is as old as human beings, meaning about 2.5 million years. First medicine was mainly based on superstition and guesswork, because people knew very little about humans body. Plants were very much used, because they were easy to get and they could treat very well. Still the origin of healing dates back to the birth of first civilisations. About 3000 B.C. the Egyptians began making some important process in medicine. The Egyptian god of healing Imhotep was actually one of the first physician of the world. At 2500 B.C. Egyptian physicians started to specialize. Some of them specialized in internal diseases, some of them treated the diseases of eyes and teeth. Also Egyptians produced first medical textbooks.

Sandpainting Traditional sandpainting, considered a sacred art, is important aspect of Navajo art and culture. Sandpainting consists of images and patterns created with colored sand. These usually depict the deities of the Navajo but also plant and animal symbols. There are two very distinct and very different forms of Navajo Sand Paintings. First is the traditional "sacred" sand paintings, performed by a Medicine Man, as part of a healing ceremony. The second form of Navajo sand paintings is the one often seen today. The Navajo sand paintings seen today in museums, shops and galleries all contain purposeful errors, as the real sand paintings are considered sacred. The Navajo have a special talent for creating beautiful sand paintings. Each genuine Navajo sand painting is a one of a kind creation. Authentic Navajo sand paintings are popular and highly sought.

What is wholesome nutrition? Wholesome nutrition consists mostly of foods of plant origin that have been processed as little as possible but as much as necessary to retain all essential and health-promoting substances necessary for supporting immune system and self-healing properties of the body. ֎ For exampleFor For exampleexample, when doing your grocery shopping, it is better to buy raw carrots rather than tinned. Medicine and elements of medical care Medicine is the art of healing. The modern practice of medicine occurs between the art of healing and various sciences. Medicine is a branch of the health sciences and is the part of public life concerned with keeping or restoring human health through the study, diagnosis, treatment and possible prevention of disease and injury. Broadly speaking, the term refers to the fields of surgery, clinical medicine and medical research. Medical care consists of three main elements: 1) the diagnosis 2) the treatment of disease 3) the

Most often are used subconjunctival, intramuscular, intravenous and subcutaneous antibiotics (Brown et al., 1998). Studies show that most effective and best for healing time are antibiotics such as penicillin, florfenicol and cloxacillin indicate active treatment reduces healing time compared with placebo. Two cloxacillin dosages of 20 mg/kg should be administered via intramuscular or subcutaneous 72 hours apart. Florfenicol, given once subcutaneously (40 mg/kg) or twice 2 days apart intramuscularly (20 mg/kg) to experimentally infected calves. On the figure 2 are shown the recovery processes, when the florfenicol is used to heal the pink eye (Angelos, 2015).

Our knowledge of herbs and medication lies in our memories. There aren't very many books, which talk about our ancestors' ways of healing. How would we know that our ancestors used aconitum ( known as aconite, monkshood, wolfsbane, leopard's bane, women's bane) in case of a tumour and at the beginning of a cold, Lichen Islandicus for fever, cold, tuberculosis, calendular salve on wounds, trefoils' tea for cough and put a hop inside a pillow in case of a sleep deprivation, if our ancestors hadn't taught that to us. A witch (from Old English wicca m. / wicce f.) is a practitioner of witchcraft. Historically, it was widely believed that witchcraft involved the use of these powers to inflict harm upon members of a community or their property, and that all witches were in league with the devil. Since the mid 20th century, the term witchcraft has sometimes been used to distinguish between bad witchcraft and good witchcraft, with the latter often involving healing. Human misfortune was often blamed on a supernatural entity or a known person in the community. Reasons for accusations of witchcraft fall into four general categories: · A person was caught in the act of positive or negative sorcery · A well-meaning sorcerer or healer lost their clients' or the authorities' trust · A person did nothing more than gain the enmity of their neighbours
keeping us in shape. Exercise helps the blood circulate around our bodies, cleaning out waste and supplying plenty of oxygen. It is also important what we get enough sleep. The number of hours we sleep we need depend on our age. Young babies sleep for 20-22 hours each day, whereas older people often need only 6-7 hours. 2.1 Early hospitals The earliest known institutions aiming to provide cure were Egyptian temples. In ancient times temples dedicated to the gods of healing used to have a hospital area. Sick people came there to pray and be treated. Later in the Middle Ages hospitals attached to monasteries were run by monks and nuns. The oldest hospital still in existence is in Paris. It was founded in 800's A.D. In the 1700's European cities began to build hospitals. They were charity hospitals for the poor and sick, as the rich people were treated at home. The early hospitals were dark, crowded and very dirty,

KASUTATUD ALLIKAD: Seamands. D.A 1996. Healing meditations for life. Estonia. The second chapter presents the origins of the name Pühtitsa. The third is an overview of human awareness of the legend, which tells the story of the icon of Our Lady. In chapter four the author examines the Pühtitsa icon and how it helped people through the hard times in history. The fifth chapter tells a story of the Holy Oak-tree and its connection to the icon of the Mother of God. The sixth chapter talks about the healing water source, and the appearance of the Mother of God in the valley, from which the source flows. The seventh chapter deals with the division of 45 beliefs into useful and limiting ones, and claims that the beliefs are true and people’s faith in them is unconditional. In the eighth chapter the author presents an overview of the Orthodox infestations in Estonia and the fact that the number of Orthodox believers has been rising in Estonia since 1840

the couple makes love in Lewandowski's bed. The plan is carried off without a problem. Lewandowski's wife shares the food that she brought for her husband with the other patients. Paul heals well. The hospital begins using paper bandages because the cloth ones have become scarce. Kropp's leg heals, but he is more solemn and less talkative than he used to be. Paul thinks that Kropp would have killed himself if he were not in a room with other patients. Paul receives leave to go home and finish healing. When his time at home is done, parting from his mother is even harder than the last time. She is weaker than before. Summary The German army continues to weaken, but the war rages on. Paul and his comrades cease to count the weeks they have spent fighting. Paul compares war to a deadly disease like the flu, tuberculosis, or cancer. The men's thoughts are molded by "the changes of the days": when they are fighting, their thoughts go dead; when they are resting, their thoughts are good
external battles between children and parents. T h e smoldering combat that ignites in the Ordeal may be an inner struggle between an old, comfortable, well-defended personality structure and a new one that is weak, unformed, but eager to be born. But the new Self can't be born until the old one dies or at least steps aside to leave more room on the center stage. In rare cases an Ordeal can be the occasion for a healing of deep wounds between a hero and a parent. Campbell calls this possibility "Atonement with the Father." Sometimes a hero, by surviving an Ordeal or by daring to challenge the authority of a parental figure, will win the parent's approval and the seeming conflicts between them will be resolved. D E A T H OF T H E EGO T h e Ordeal in myths signifies the death of the ego. T h e hero is now fully part of the cosmos, dead to the old, limited vision of things and reborn into a new

OCCAM'S PROTOCOL II The Finer Points It's the little--John details that are vital. Little things make big things happen. Wooden, Hall of Fame NCAA basketball coach (10 NCAA titles in 12 years) Common Questions and Criticisms CAN THIS FREQUENCY REALLY BE ENOUGH? Yes. Doug McGuff MD compares burn healing to muscle tissue healing to explain: Building muscle is actually a much slower process than healing a wound from a burn [which typically takes one to two weeks]. A burn heals from the ectodermal germ line, where the healing rate is relatively faster, because epithelial cells turn over quickly. If you scratch your cornea, for instance, it's generally going to be healed in 812 hours. Muscle tissue, in contrast, heals from the mesodermal germ line, where the healing rate is
the first who saw it with absolute clarity. Later the title Buddha was conferred upon him. Buddha means “the awakened one.” At abut the same time, another of humanity’s early awakened teachers emerged in China. His name was Lao Tzu. He left a record of his teaching in the form of one of the most profound spiritual books ever written, the Tao Te Ching. To recognize one’s own insanity, is of course, the arising of sanity, the beginning of healing and transcendence. A new dimension of consciousness had begun to emerge on the planet, a first tentative flowering. Those rare individuals then spoke to their contemporaries. They spoke of sin, of suffering, of delusion. They said, “Look how you live. See what you are doing, the suffering you create.” They then pointed to the possibility of awakening from the collective nightmare of “normal” human existence. They showed the way.
3) Geothermal heat pumps use stable ground or water temperatures near the earth's surface to control building temperatures above ground. 13. 4 Direct use of geothermal energy The direct use of hot water as an energy source has been happening since ancient times. The Romans, Chinese, and Native Americans used hot mineral springs for bathing, cooking and heating. Today, many hot springs are still used for bathing, and many people believe the hot, mineral-rich waters have natural healing powers. After bathing, the most common direct use of geothermal energy is for heating buildings through district heating systems. Hot water near the earth's surface can be piped directly into buildings and industries for heat. A district heating system provides heat for 95 percent of the buildings in Reykjavik, Iceland. Examples of other direct uses include: growing crops, and drying lumber, fruits, and vegetables. 13.5 Geothermal power plants

to look for a bookstore. They were both willing to come with me, but I encouraged them to go have fun -- they didn't know how preoccupied I could get when surrounded by books; it was something I preferred to do alone. They walked off to the car chattering happily, and I headed in the direction Jess pointed out. I had no trouble finding the bookstore, but it wasn't what I was looking for. The windows were full of crystals, dream-catchers, and books about spiritual healing. I didn't even go inside. Through the glass I could see a fifty-year-old woman with long, gray hair worn straight down her back, clad in a dress right out of the sixties, smiling welcomingly from behind the counter. I decided that was one conversation I could skip. There had to be a normal bookstore in town. I meandered through the streets, which were filling up with end-of-the-workday traffic, and hoped I was headed toward downtown
