THE POOR FARMER ’S DAUGHTERS
Once upon a time there lived a poor farmer who only had seven children as his treasure . They were all girls , named after every famous queen the country had had. However , none of them was his child – they were all orphans, found in the nearby forest many years ago, during the Great War.
The eldest one was Margaret ; she had long dark shiny hair and big blue eyes . She was a true beauty compared to the other maidens at the village . However, she had a bad side as well – the only one she ever cared about was she herself . And when living at the county -side, being an egoist is not good .
Lucia was the next. This year she would turn 16 if she hadn’t played with

Kordamine inglise keele eksamiks

Kordamine inglise keele eksamiks A 1.1 Read the text and answer the questions below. Dear Mary-Alice, It's been ages since I last wrote to you, isn't it weird? Yes, so it is, but, I do have a certain reason. Do you remember Sir Thom of the Minquettes'? That fine young man with fascinating blue eyes... Oh, my sweet Mary, you will never guess what happened yesterday! It was about seven o'clock in the evening when Lillian called me out for a walk you know I can't say `no' to my little sis. Anyway we went to the forest near the Swan Lake and, believe it or not, got lost! Awful! I was so scared... We walked and walked, not even knowing the direction we were heading to, until we reached a huge mansion. And the garden around it was so extraordinary... That is something you just must see! But neither the trees nor flowers could be as wonderful as the owner himself! Sir Thom treated us tea and sandwiches, not forgetting to show us way back to the village. He was so kind, don't you think?

The Life-Changing Competition

A life-changing competition Finally, it was the 1st May the final day of the Youth Rock Competition. Many student bands from all over the country were preparing for the final battle. The Raven wasn't an exception. The vocalist, Daemon, practiced the guitar, while the others tried to calm down from the pressure that was thickening the air. Matrix, the guitarist, had taken his little sister with him. While he himself was practicing with the Ravens, Alice sat amongst the public. Suddenly, someone shook her hand. The girl turned and saw one extravagant-looking woman. "You are Alice Owen, right? The legendary Billy Owen' s youngest daughter?" Alice smiled and nodded. "Yet I don't believe my father is a legend." "Well, for me he's an idol! I've always dreamed about his live-concert! And, now, finally, I can hear his singing!" "He's just opening the competition..." But the woman seemed very happy, so Alice decided not to ruin her mood and agreed to everything

Cats

If it inherits chocolate + chocolate OR chocolate + cinnamon it will be chocolate. If it inherits the dilution gene it will be lavender. If it inherits the dilution gene AND the caramelising gene it will be taupe. If it inherits cinnamon + cinnamon it will be cinnamon in colour. If it inherits the dilution gene it will be fawn. If it inherits the dilution gene AND the caramelising gene it will be a pink-brown.. Many early caramels were probably registered as fawns or lilacs, probably as poor quality individuals. The colour differences are subtle enough that it may be necessary to check what is in a cat's pedigree to work out the exact colour. To the rest of us, such cats are simply "biscuit colour" and are no less attractive for it! Red is a different gene to black, chocolate and cinnamon. It is a sex-linked gene which means a female must inherit 2 copies of the red gene in order to show up as a red cat. A male only needs one copy of the red gene to be a red cat

Sisters

Sisters Creasha was sitting alone in her room. It was silence outside, yet she felt that something was wrong it was too quiet. Her older brother, Denis, had always said that too much silence was dangerous even for the hunter. That is what Denis was a bounty hunter. Creasha looked at the paleness of her sleeping twin sister Suzan and thought that it'll be six months soon as mom and dad left the country and their children to the Fate. Well, the reality wasn't so dramatic, since they were politics whom had to travel a lot. Creasha and Suzan weren't small any longer, 16 is almost as good as grown-up! But Denis never thought so; he still cared about his little sisters, as they were babies in his mind. A sudden voice broke the silence Creasha had almost fallen asleep in. Suzan opened her eyes as well and whispered," I've heard this sound before, it's dad's car." In a couple of minutes the twins got dressed. Suzan, who had short, red hair

Jane Austen

Lizzy is not a bit better than the others; and I am sure she is not half so handsome as Jane, nor half so good-humoured as Lydia. But you are always giving her the preference." "They have none of them much to recommend them," replied he; "they are all silly and ignorant like other girls; but Lizzy has something more of quickness than her sisters." "Mr. Bennet, how can you abuse your own children in such a way? You take delight in vexing me. You have no compassion for my poor nerves." "You mistake me, my dear. I have a high respect for your nerves. They are my old friends. I have heard you mention them with consideration these last twenty years at least." "Ah, you do not know what I suffer." "But I hope you will get over it, and live to see many young men of four thousand a year come into the neighbourhood." "It will be no use to us, if twenty such should come, since you will not visit them."

A lamb to the slaughter

"How about a nice big slice of cheesecake? I know he likes that." "Perfect," she said. "He loves it." And when it was all wrapped and she had paid, she put on her brightest smile and said, "Thank you, Sam. Goodnight." "Goodnight, Mrs. Maloney. And thank you." And now, she told herself as she hurried back, all she was doing now, she was returning home to her husband and he was waiting for his supper; and she must cook it good, and make it as tasty as possible because the poor man was tired; and if, when she entered the house, she happened to find anything unusual, or tragic, or terrible, then naturally it would be a shock and she'd become frantic with grief and horror. Mind you, she wasn't expecting to find anything. She was just going home with the vegetables. Mrs. Patrick Maloney going home with the vegetables on Thursday evening to cook supper for her husband. That's the way, she told herself. Do everything right and natural. Keep things absolutely natural
