half — otherwise two obviously distinct individuals could both be the name’s referent. Also, we would surely want to say that some of a person’s identifying properties are more important than others in determining his or her identity; some way of weighting the identifying descriptions is involved.

Estonian climate in winter-time.

Estonian climate in winter-time. In Estonia, winter climate is very variable. Some year, it could be very cold outside, but some year it could be so warm you may wear your autumn clothes in winter. Some year it could snow so much, that you can't even get out of the house, because there's too much snow in front of your door and some year it may not snow for at least half of the winter-time. But no worries, mostly the temperature may go below -30 and because of the cold, students are absent from schools. The absent students mess up the whole classes program, because then it takes more time to study some subjects and teachers have a lot more work to do. I think, that when students skip school because of the bad weather, teachers should put homework and the work that should

Am i an optimist or pessimist

Am I an optimist or pessimist We live a hard life, we need to deal with many problems. And everyone looks at these problems in there own way. Some of the people are optimistic and the others are not. But is my glass half-full or half-empty? To answer this question I have to weigh all the pros and cons. For example, sometimes in hard situations I just give up, because I just can no longer force this. But I still know, that somewhere deep in my heart there is hope that everything will be alright. That is why I can proudly call myself an optimistic person! And I want to give you good advice! Even on those days when nothing in your life seems to be going right, it can be really tough to see the silver lining among all those clouds. But ability to see the good in even the worst situations is so important. Try to be more optimistic and you will see-life is not that bad! The world is beautiful! I hope that my essay will help to se...

Panga Pank (Inglise keeles)

PANGA CLIFF The Panga cliff is located on the northern shore of Saaremaa, at the end of the Kuressaare - Võhma road, close to Panga village. It is the highest of the Saaremaa and Muhu cliffs, reaching to a maximum of 21.3 meters. The entire cliff is approximately 2.5 kilometers long. Standing at the tip of the cliff, one can clearly see another half-circular cliff under water. This is especially noticeable during storms, when the waves break against the underwater rocks, while the inside of the half-circle is calm. During bird migrations in the spring and fall, this half-circular lagoon is a favorite stopover point for storks on their long trip to and from Egypt, where most of them spend the winter. Sometimes there are well over a hundred storks, as well as other waterbirds, resting in the calm waters of the lagoon. Folk tradition ties Panga cliff as a place of worship and sacrifice for the ancient Saarlanders. It is known that unti...

brother Poseidon. Seems the head hocho's magical lightning bolt has been stolen, and each accuses the other of using the crime as a means of starting an all out Olympian war. Zeus specifically blames Poseidon's son, Percy Jackson, and soon, all the various creatures of myth - harpies, centaurs, minotaurs, and hydras -- are after the unsuspecting teen. When he learns of his lineage from his mother Sally, Percy teams up with half-man, half goat protector Grover, the battle skilled daughter of Athena, Annabeth and mentor Chiron to take on Medusa, Hades, Persephone, and the clashing forces of these timeless titans, all in the name of uncovering the real crook. Comprised of five main volumes and three supplemental companion books, Rick Riordan's popular young people's series should be an easy sell for any studio. It has loads of heroes and villains, monsters and sprites, wish fulfillment and epic feats of magic and courage

The two-time MVP sat out with back spasms, but Barbosa filled in admirably. He connected on 10 of 18 shots and scored 22 points in the second half. Phoenix also overcame the loss of big man Amare Stoudemire, ejected in the second quarter after his second technical. O'Neal had 13 rebounds and three blocks, and his fourth-quarter dunk moved him past Oscar Robertson on the career scoring list with 26,711 points. O'Neal was 8-of-13 from the field and missed only two of his 10 free throws. Grant Hill had 15 points for the Suns, and Louis Amundson scored 10 off the bench.

Otherkin subculture (beliefs, behaviour, influences)

Otherkin Beliefs- Otherkin are a community of people who see themselves as partially or entirely non-human. This is explained by some members of the otherkin community through reincarnation, they have a nonhuman souls. Here you can see the model of reincarnation- it happens when a non-human (for example a fox or a wolf or a dragon) dies, their body dies but the soul never dies and it just takes some other body, gets inside there and many Otherkin community members believe that this non-human soul is in their body, that their own soul is not human. They declare that inside they are more than just homo sapiens. Not all otherkin necessarily share these beliefs; some may simply prefer to identify as non-human without this reincarnation. Mostly these peole communicate on the Internet and if they gather then mostly to talk about their past, their feelings or to just get more information about other otherkins. Behaviour- Otherkin is a pretty q...

The ideal school for my children

03.09 The ideal school for my children The ideal school for my children would be communication-based, blending aspects of social work, conflict resolution, team building, and traditional learning. Classes would be limited to fifteen students, a size small enough to allow individual attention but large enough to furnish the feeling of belonging to a group. In addition, academic lessons would be split into two halves. The first half would be a basic skills seminar, and the second an advanced class. Students would be able to choose whether to stay the second half, or else they could leave to work on their current project, read, or pursue an independent study of another subject. The students who stayed - the "second halfers" - would be known as the students with the greatest passion for the subject. No grades or competition would exist. Rather, the motivation to work would

William Turner

The painting was widely admired for its use of colour and the way in which sea and sky merge around the distant ship. In the lower portion of the painting, hands of enslaved Africans can be seen still shackled(aheldatud). Turner makes a particularly effective contrast between distant and near views in The Slave Ship. The painting is currently on display at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, USA. My opinion is that The slave ship is very beautiful painting and I like that one half of the picture is dark and the other half is light.

What I would change if I were omnipotent

What I would change if I were omnipotent The thing that bothers me the most in today's world is the lack of care. It is noticeable everywhere: in the streets, on television or even in relationships. If I had the power to change anything I would change the attitude of humankind considering the following issues. Firstly, I am not the kind of person whose glass is always half empty mine is half full but there are some negative aspects that disturb me . Walking down the street I notice litter such as wraps of different kind of junk food, old cigarettes and pieces of gum. Furthermore, I would make the people understand not to throw their trash on the ground but to recycle everything. Make it so that it is illegal to trash and it is the law to recycle. So that eventually everyone would take trash personally. Secondly, When ever I turn on the television there are commercials after

Irish Potato Famine

Ireland. The work was to raise crop for a tiny piece of land (most of tenants had less than an acre) where they could grow food (potatoes) for their own families. Potatoes were grown because they have all the necessary vitamins in them and only the potatoes would suffice to feed a family when grown on such tiny holdings. In 1845 a fungus, called Phytophthora infestans (commonly known as potato blight) attacked the potato crop and destroyed half of it. Yet, this was not a catastrophe and people would pray for the next years' crop to be a proper one but it was even worse and on top of that, the winter of 1846 was the "severest in living memory". The crop, which previously had provided 60% of the nations' food needs, failed. Many families were evicted because they couldn't pay for their land. Hand in hand, starvation and diseases spreaded all across the country.

With my first teacher we wrote down lots of rules about grammar and other stuff like that but I did not understand them so for me it was more like a waste of time. With my second, third and fourth teacher I met in Jõhvi High school and they all were not good teachers because they did not want to teach us, during their lessons half of the class just played with their phones and other half of the class tried to study on their own. My fifth teacher was the one who taught me almost everything that I know now, in her lessons I was never bored, because we had so much to do during her lessons, we singed songs, read poems, did group works, where we only could talk in English and when she saw that someone was bored she left him/her more difficult homework and because of that we all took part of her lessons

And those that decompose release toxic into the air, into the soil, and then get into the groundwater. These toxic can be gases like methane, sulfur, nitrogen, carbon monoxide and so on. Municipal dumps are the cause serious diseases and damage crops. These dumps are becoming bigger and bigger. What is the solution to a problem? First of all, people should change their attitude to dumping. Special bins should be put of cans, bottles and paper. Secondly, much more than half of today's trash could be recycled, but 80% of it winds up in landfills. In conclusion, I want to say that there are many solutions to this problem, and if people are interested in this, the biggest problem will be solved

extensive fires in 1625, 1820 and 1931. Kadrioru Palace Kadrioru Palace is a palace built for Chatherine 1 of Russia by Peter the Great in Tallinn, in Estonia, in 1718. It was built after the Great Northern War. The palace was desinged by the Italian architect Nicola Michetti. Kadrioru Palace has always been the crown jewel of Tallinn. Most of the Russian rulers visited the imperial summer residence. Great changes in the life and in the interior of the palace occurred in the first half of the 19th century, when Tallinn which had become a fashionable holiday resort, was often visited by Nicholas 1 and his family. In 2000, the palace was opened as the Kadriorg Art Museum, which displays the largest collection of old Russian and Western European art in Estonia. Pictures of Kadrioru Palace Kadrioru Park Kadrioru Park is the most outstanding park in Estonia covering around 70 hectares. Its construction began in 1718 on the orders of Russian tsar Peter 1.

My ideal school

of what it is like to work on a real-world project. The teacher would have an important role, psychologically coaching the kids through the highs and lows of the project and facilitating discussions to make them work better together and motivate themselves. Rather, the motivation to work would come from a desire to earn the respect of teachers and fellow students and establish a positive self-identity. Kids would also decide the degree to which they would like to participate

Thailand

· Tuk Tuks (which are very funny taxies, with no windows and doors. Usually they are red and could be found in different shapes); · Asian Elephants (Thailand people make money by selling riding tours with elephants for tourists). Elephants have their guides men who spend their whole life together with the particular elephant. Elephants in Thailand are as important as humans; · The national symbol of Thailand is Garuda(a half bird, half figure) · The Thai language is Thailand's national language (written in its own alphabets but many areas have their own local dialects). I learnt also one main statement "thank you very much" in Thai language which sounds as "kop-khun-mama- mama" ; I think one aspect worth to mention which also makes Thailand of my favourite place is that people in Thailand are very kind, friendly and tolerant. Thailand is often called the

Comparison of Education in Britain and Estonia

Britain instead of 3 like it is in Estonia. Altogether, compulsory school in Britain lasts 11 years which is 2 years more than in Estonia. Moreover, there are slight differences as for the compulsory subjects taught in the first three years of secondary school in Britain and Estonia. In Britain, more emphasis is placed on Religious Studies, including Christianity and other religions, Drama and Information Technology. While in the first half of secondary school all pupils must study the same subjects, in the second half of secondary level and especially in the Sixth Form, more options are available for the British students when compared to students in Estonia. In the Sixth Form, they only have to choose 3 compulsory subjects with a vast range of extra subjects offered by the school like Economics, Food Technology, Government and Politics, Photography, Psychology and Theatre Studies. The poor farmer's daugters

However, the most `special' was Alice, who was the one that mixed the potion for Lucia. Alice was thought to be a witch's child, but there was not enough proof for her execution since the farmer always destroyed all evidence of magic. Her look was a bit of creepy: black hair, light brown skin and dark wild eyes. Yet, the farmer loved her very much and so did most of the sisters. Well, some exceptions are not in count. Madeleine was found in December, half frozen due to the really cold weather. She is believed to be a half elf because of her extraordinary looks: knee-length silky white hair and emerald green glittery eyes. Sometimes her eye-color changed, especially when she got angry on Ange, the next sister in the row. It turned from green to gray. Angelique, or just Ange for the most, was the sweetest child of all. She was quiet and caring, a total opposite of naïve Margaret. She liked music and dancing, moving slighter

Agriculture

in terms of employment and contribution to GDP, reflecting Britain's early industrialization. Agriculture employs less than 2 per cent of the population and contributes 2 per cent of GDP. However, it achieves high levels of efficiency and productivity. Britain is self-sufficient in 58 per cent of all types of food and animal feed. Large parts of Britain, notably in Scotland and Wales, are suitable only for grazing. Overall, in the first half of the 1990s about 39 per cent of agricultural land was under pasture, another 27 per cent under rough grazing, and the remainder under crops or lying fallow. Over half of all full-time farms are devoted to dairy or beef farming, or sheep. Cattle and sheep contribute more than 40 per cent of the value of gross agricultural output. Arable farming is concentrated mainly in eastern and south-central England and in eastern Scotland
