"half" - 700 õppematerjali

half — otherwise two obviously distinct individuals could both be the name’s referent. Also, we would surely want to say that some of a person’s identifying properties are more important than others in determining his or her identity; some way of weighting the identifying descriptions is involved.

Estonian climate in winter-time.

In Estonia, winter climate is very variable. Some year, it could be very cold outside, but some year it could be so warm you may wear your autumn clothes in winter. Some year it could snow so much, that you can't even get out of the house, because there's too much snow in front of your door and some year it may not snow for at least half of the winter-time. But no worries, mostly the temperature may go below -30 and because of the cold, students are absent from schools. The absent students mess up the whole classes program, because then it takes more time to study some subjects and teachers have a lot more work to do. I think, that when students skip school because of the bad weather, teachers should put homework and the work that should...

The shights of Estonia

Kadrioru Palace Kadrioru Palace is a palace built for Chatherine 1 of Russia by Peter the Great in Tallinn, in Estonia, in 1718. It was built after the Great Northern War. The palace was desinged by the Italian architect Nicola Michetti. Kadrioru Palace has always been the crown jewel of Tallinn. Most of the Russian rulers visited the imperial summer residence. Great changes in the life and in the interior of the palace occurred in the first half of the 19th century, when Tallinn which had become a fashionable holiday resort, was often visited by Nicholas 1 and his family. In 2000, the palace was opened as the Kadriorg Art Museum, which displays the largest collection of old Russian and Western European art in Estonia. Pictures of Kadrioru Palace Kadrioru Park Kadrioru Park is the most outstanding park in Estonia covering around 70 hectares. Its construction began in 1718 on the orders of Russian tsar Peter 1....

Blandings Castle kokkuvõte

G. Wodehouse Wodehouse was an acknowledged master of English prose admired both by contemporaries and by modern writers. He has been called "English literature's performing flea", a derogatory description that Wodehouse cherished and adopted as the title of his autobiography. Best known today for the Jeeves and Blandings Castle novels and short stories, Wodehouse was also a talented playwright and lyricist who was part author and writer of fifteen plays and of 250 lyrics for some thirty musical comedies. Wodehouse took a modest attitude to his own works. In Over Seventy (1957) he wrote: "I go in for what is known in the trade as 'light writing' and those who do that humorists they are sometimes called are looked down upon by the intelligentsia and sneered at." Wodehouse's characters are often eccentric, with peculiar attachments, such as to newts (Gussie Fink-Nottle) or socks (Archibald Mulliner). His "ment...

How to make the world greener

com which help you save the environment. The main reason the global pollution has risen lately is because of the enormous growth in world population. Some scientists predict that we will reach ten billion people count by the year 2050, but who knows, maybe by then we have used up all the irrecoverable resources and have to move half the population to the moon and Mars to start contaminating them also. Countries like China have taken measures to stop the population. A chinese family can only have one child and if they go above the limit they have to pay a fine even though richer families don't care much for that. So even though there's a very big fine about 90´000 families have gone over the limit and are under investigation. If we would all think globally instead of just ourselves or our country, we could...

Reporti näide

The survey which interviewed over 1000 The National Art Gallery guests was conducted by British Government. It found that guests are not flattered to buy art. Expensive Two out of five thought that it is nonsense to buy a painting. They thought that they can see some art in National Gallery if they want. Half of guests thought that they might buy some paintings if they had some spare money to spend. Unfortunately 90 per cent of them told that they never had any free money. Collectors So one out of ten guests told that they buy paintings frequently. But most of them were actually collectors and only two guests said that they collected art from young painters. 10 visitors admitted that they bought art just to decorate their home and they actually did not care what kind of painting they were....

Education

David Ehrenfeld has pointed out that biology departments no longer hire faculty in such areas as systematics, taxonomy, or ornithology. In other words, important knowledge is being lost because of the recent overemphasis on molecular biology and genetic engineering, which are more lucrative, but not more important, areas of inquiry. We still lack the the science of land health that Aldo Leopold called for half a century ago. It is not just knowledge in certain areas that we're losing, but vernacular knowledge as well, by which I mean the knowledge that people have of their places. In the words of Barry Lopez: "[I am] forced to the realization that something strange, if not dangerous, is afoot. Year by year the number of people with firsthand experience in the land dwindles. Rural populations continue to shift to the cities...

Irish Potato Famine

The work was to raise crop for a tiny piece of land (most of tenants had less than an acre) where they could grow food (potatoes) for their own families. Potatoes were grown because they have all the necessary vitamins in them and only the potatoes would suffice to feed a family when grown on such tiny holdings. In 1845 a fungus, called Phytophthora infestans (commonly known as potato blight) attacked the potato crop and destroyed half of it. Yet, this was not a catastrophe and people would pray for the next years' crop to be a proper one but it was even worse and on top of that, the winter of 1846 was the "severest in living memory". The crop, which previously had provided 60% of the nations' food needs, failed. Many families were evicted because they couldn't pay for their land. Hand in hand, starvation and diseases spreaded all across the country....

SisuHarry Potter peab jällekord veetma suvevaheaja Dursleyde juures.

Canada

The First nations are Indians, Metis and Inuits, but the term Indian is called inappropriate, so now they are called the Native peoples. There are also legal terms for them and it applies to a native person who is registered under the Indian Act and it means that they are entitled to free medical care, education and training. Some of them, whose ancestors signed treaties also receive a small amount of money. Metis are the people who are half indigenous and half other race, the came from the marriages between different races. They have good traditions and a dance called the jig. They live in communities in the rural areas. The Inuit, who don't want to be called Eskimos because of its meaning ,,meat- eaters", are the founded people, and over the years their life has changed dramatically and they feel that the modern people don't respect nature and that modern cultures had neglected and abused it. 10. Kitarrikursus algajatele 4.osa-Ben Edwards

You may or may not have noticed that most of the things you have played previously have been in groups of fours or numbers that are divisible by four. Most music is like this and if you don't believe me turn on your radio. Try and count out in fours while listening to the playing. I am confident that you will be able to count out in fours to most pieces of music you will hear. So previously when you were strumming up and down you were playing HALF beats. That is why I had you count out, "one AND two AND three AND four AND", to split each beat in half and strum in eights. Just to recap, let's just try one of our previous exercises again. Once again we are working with the G chord. Strum up and down in a constant rhythm. Keep it slow and accurate. As in lesson 3, I would like you to count out, "one AND two AND three AND four AND", with your strumming. Video and Audio Available: Dial Up Broadband...
