1 Wave energy Introduction to wave energy There are several possibilities to harvest different forms of energy from the sea. One of these options is the usage of waves for the generation of electricity. The devices needed to perform this task are called wave energy converters. Wave energy is indirect solar energy in twice. At first there is the wind, which is caused by variations in atmospheric pressure due to a differential solar heating of earth's surface by the sun. Different regions of pressure drives a force which rises a movement of atmospheric air masses that causes the earths wind system. If wind strikes over the surface of an open water, waves are induced. First they are very flat with only a low level of energy. When there is a long distance over the water on which wind can attack the small ones, they became bigger and bigger with a l...

It is architecturally the most magnificent out of all Estonian sacred buildings in the 19th century, also Charles congregation is currently the largest in Estonia by the number of members. It was originally built in the 17th century, during the time of Swedish rule, when king Charles XI commissioned the construction of a church for the Estonian and Finnish population in 1670. At first it was wooden and not very large, built in a Greek cross style. Traditionally, the church was named after the king that built it. Letter Dear Zumospa I am writing to inform some of the key ideas i came out when i was brainstrorming. I think that Zumo needs a new name and i came out with a brilliant name called ,,Lightning". Its perfect name for a enery drink because lightning is very fast and cool so people may think that they will become as fast as lighting when they drink that beverage. Also we should make healthy drinks from fresh fruits and call it ,,Lightning Apple" or something like that so it will be a healthy energy drink. All the bottles must look like lightning arrows and the bottles will be made from recyclable glass. The new slogan will be ,,Faster than lightning". We will advertise it on television and on internet. The product will be pricey to look professional and seem like high-quality drink. We can compete similar products with our professional high-quality packaging which will come with a lightning tattoo whic...

Healthy life A Healthy lifestyle is one which helps to keep and improve people`s health and will being. If you want to live healthy life, then eat healthy food. In my opinion begins all still eating because food is our body`s fuel. If the fuel is of good quality, remains in the body mostly "working" or healthy. Drink enough water, walking in the fresh air every day. Get enough sleep, a good night`s sleep gives your brain a brilliant boost, it improves your memory and ability to focus. At least 7-8 hours of sleep is very important for me and I always trying to go to sleep before midnight. Of course it easy for me, because I go to school and I don`t have kids, but I believe, however, that most people really could more sleep, when they plan their day better organized. Have a laugh, think positively and set goals. Listen to classical music and try something new. Don`t drink alcoho...
My childhood story Whenever I think about my childhood, one story comes to my mind. A story I am proud of. It’s about how I helped my one year older brother when he got stung by a bee. It’s not just an ordinary story because my brother, back then, was allergic to bees. And because of that I may have saved his life. It all began on a sunny summer day at my grandfather’s country home. We had a dog back then and he had his own fenced garden with a doghouse in it. Me and my brother were just fooling around outside doing funny stuff. At some point he decided to go let the dog out. The poles that were holding the fence up were holo inside and the bees thought that it was a great place to make a hive in. I can’t remeber why, but my brother for some reason leaned over the fence pole and looked into it. That’s when my brother got stung near to his eyes. He immediately yelled at me that he can’t see and wanted my ...
My ideal house I would like to live in a place where there are some mountains with snow on top of them and a sea nearby because i like beaches and mountains. My house would be in the middle of them, so i could see the sea from one side and the mountains from the other side of the house. The house would have two floors and a basement because that's all i need. On the first floor, there would be the living room with a big tv and some antique furniture, the kitchen, also with antique style oven and etc. A bathroom with a large bathtub and sauna, plus there would be a porch looking towards the sea. On the second floor, there would be at least four bedrooms where my family/children would sleep. One of the bedrooms would be for guests. There would also be a second bathroom. All the rooms on the second floor would be decorated with some antiquity in mind. As you can see i like antique stuff, but with moder...

Visions of a sustainable world Creating a shared vision of a sustainable and desirable future is the most critical task facing humanity today. This vision must be of a world that we all want, a world that provides permanent prosperity within the Earth’s biophysical constraints in a fair. At the centre of the idea of sustainability is an ethical imperative to pass on a undiminished future to our children. To bring our world toward sustainability — or any other goal — we need to take different kinds of steps, which require different kinds of knowledge, talent, skill, and work. Future will be sustainable when citizens are concerned enough about the environment that they want to make a difference. It will happen when diverse groups from industry, environment, schools, service clubs, business, governments & the public come together and work towards a common vision of sustainability for our communities - bal...

protest is an expression of bearing witness on behalf of an express A cause by words or actions with regard to particular events, policies or situations. But why people protest? What are the reasons behind protest? The first thing that comes to my mind is that people protest because they live boring lives. They have nothing to do or they can find excitement anywhere. When something as exciting as protest happens those people might join it just to reduce the boredome in their lives. The other reason why people protest is peer pressure. During revolutions and protests people start judging and criticizing those who don’t participate in the events. Under the effect of peer pressure the ones with low self esteem find themselves forced to take a direction just to please others and not because in what was going on. Those are some of the main reasons why people protest. Some events are worth the protest but some are not. It depens on the...

I really liked the example of Microsoft reinventing integrated office tools. When I think about it in today’s context, it seems very logical – a lot of companies do that. But that must have been an amazing innovation for that time. They used: o Profit model – instead of paying for the different applications separately, they...
Even public figures have a right to privacy The issue of whether or not the public figures deserve more privacy than they are given today is a complicated one. Some people claim that the public officials are constantly disturbed by the media and the privacy for them should be enforced more. But there are individuals who believe that the public figures do not deserve more privacy because they have signed up for their life to be well known. Those for increased privacy for public figures, supporters of more privacy: + Privacy is a right that shouldn't be taken away from anyone no matter how famous they are + They are not obligated to share any details of their private life + The journalists publish news and pictures, which have a negative impact on the public official's reputation (exaggerations, misrepresentation of facts) Those against increased privacy for public figures, opponents of more privacy - Public figures should expect ...
To: Mr Jones, sports centre manager From: Mari Mets Subject: Report on the students' exercise preferences Date: 3rd April 2017 Introduction The aim of this report is to describe the changes in the students' exercise preferences, speculate on the reasons for the shifts and make recommendations for the sports centre on which facilities and training opportunities to include in the future. Female students Yoga and Pilates have remained the most popular exercise routines among the young women, who are acquiring education. From 2010 to 2015, the percentage of female students, who chose one of these two training programs, stayed at 45%. The reason for the lack of shift might be that the interests of the young women, who are acquiring education and practicing yoga or Pilates, have not changed. Male students Weightlifting has remained the most popular exercise routine among the young men, who are acquiring education. From 2010 to 2015, the pe...
BEPS project Action 4: Interest deductions and other financial payments Maris Leemets 10.08.2016 Peer Assignment in Module 3 The OECD with its Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) project is working towards proposing politically feasible and multilaterally acceptable ways to minimize the corporate tax base erosion and profit shifting activities since 2013. Out of its 15 main lines of work under BEPS project (called Actions) I will concentrate on Action 4 which aims at proposing new rules for preventing the manipulation of interest expense related tax deductions of corporates. The underlying problem is that multinational groups can easily create and relocate debt in their group according to the most preferential tax treatment available which in some cases results in no or even negative corporate tax payments fr...

Professor Kavanaugh 1 December 2011 Word Count: 968 Essay Topic #7: Ibsen's A Doll House A doll house is a visually appealing home for an equally perfect doll to live in. In Ibsen's "A Doll House" the values of society were related only to the visual appearance of one's home and family. Social acceptance dictated Torvald and Nora's lives, including their relationship. Torvald can be assumed as not only the owner of this "doll house" but of Nora, his "doll", as well. Their marriage had the constant pressures of the image of perfection, and it is this tension that corrupts their relationship. It also forces Nora to realize the self-centered nature of her husband. Nora ultimately changes her resemblance of Torvald's "doll" and becomes an independent and confrontational woman, creating a great contrast with the title of this play. The standards on social ...

5c’s of Credit When you apply for a loan, the lender will evaluate your request in order to determine whether or not it is a good decision to lend you and your business money. A common evaluation framework is the Five C’s of Credit: capacity, capital, collateral, conditions and character. Capacity refers to your ability to meet the loan payments. The prospective lender will want to know exactly how you intend to repay the loan. The lender will consider the cash flow from the business, the timing of repayment, and the probability of successful repayment of the loan. Lenders will also consider payment history as an indicator of future payment potential. For example, if you have a history of not paying back loans then it becomes more difficult to obtain additional loans. Capital is the money invested in the business and is an indicator of how much is at risk should the business fail. Lender...

EU Internal Market Law Mid-term online evaluation assignment for Distance Learning Students The Assignment: Hypothetical Case In the Member State A several NGOs, uniting parents concerned with safety of children and young adults, ordered a study of dog attacks on people (and especially children) resulting in deaths or maiming. The aim of the study was to identify, if possible, the dog breeds of potentially enhanced danger for people. The study’s results showed that pit bulls and their close mixes as well as Rottweilers and their close mixes were jointly responsible for over 70% of attacks. The authors of the study explained the statistics by popularity, big size and powerfulness of the named breeds and their ability to do a lot of damage. Besides, about the pit bull attacks the absence of warning from a dog played a significant role, because due to the custom of docking (cutting short) pit bulls’ tails warning signals could n...
