For and against homeschooling
More and more families are deciding to homeschool their children. What are the pros and cons of this situation?
The main benefit of homeschooling for me is individual approach because in school there is lots of students and teacher cannot teach every pupil separately. Teachers do not have the time to focus to every student ’s weaknesses and help them in specific areas. Homeschooled child can receive enough help where needed. What is more that homeschooler’s parents are able to witness and guide their child’s development but parents of pupils in state schools are not associated with their child’s development and cannot witness everything. Also teachers in state schools teach because they are paid for it but homeschoolers parents to this to give their children better education.
On the other hand homeschooling costs more because parents have to buy books and workbooks in every subject and every year. State school students have these kinds of learning materials given by school and do not need to pay for anything . Also homeschoolers cannot socialize as much as students in schools. State school pupils meet their classmates almost every day and communicate much more than homeschooled children. Homeschoolers have to find another way to make friends and communicate.
On the whole both options, homeschooling and state school, have their pros and cons. To my mind both are great options. In the end it is parents and their children’s decision .
