The Chernobyl accident in 1986 was the result of a flawed reactor design that was operated with inadequately trained personnel. The resulting steam explosion and fires released at least 5% of the radioactive reactor core into the atmosphere and downwind. Two Chernobyl plant workers died on the night of the accident, and a further 28 people died within a few weeks as a result of acute radiation poisoning. The accident took place in Mellowtown, at the intersection of Main Street and Broadway about 12.30. A chicken farmer was driving his chickens to a market, when by unknown reason he made an accident. Tom Phillips, the chicken farmer, said that he was driving slowly and carefully as always, but suddenly the truck started to make strange noise and he could not control it any more. Then he crashed. As a result the crates, where the chickens were held, went to pieces and chickens broke free. At the moment there is a real chaos in the middle on Mellowtown, chickens everywhere and pieces of the crates also.
