What is performance? Any and all of the activities of human life can be studies “as” performance Investigate what the object does, his interaction with other objects and beings, how it relates to other objects or beings Performances exist only as actions, interactions and relationships Restored behaviour or the “twice behaved behaviours” Key process of performance All behaviour consist of bits of previously behaved behaviour Marked, framed, heightened Something “is” a performance when historical and social context, convention, usage and tradition says it is
Question 1 Define the following ADC terms: 1. SNR – (Signal to Noise Ratio) SNR is a calculated value that represents the ratio of RMS signal to RMS noise. 2. SINAD - (signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio) Ratio of the RMS signal amplitude to the mean value of the root-sum-square (RSS) 3. ENOB – (effective number of bits) The effective number-of-bits and relates to SINAD 4. Channels - related to the inputs of the ADC can either be multiplexed or individually selected. 7. Linearity - relates to how a ADC follows a linear function
The Visual Image Person on the picture A is not important to the visual image, as well he should be able to play music. The model on picture B is definitely a visual image so important because it relates to his work. An artist in picture C visual image is not important for him,as the ability to draw or paint. Cook in picture D is not visual image important as well he should be able to make food. The official in picture E is visual image important because he must be creadible that he could give advise. It is hard to say which job is the most difficult to do well. I do not judge people on how they look, because the first impression may be wrong decision. In my
The main argument for the virtual world being superficial is that nowadays people rather tend to stay in front of their screens and just talk than go out and have a good time eye to eye. Therefore people might not have any idea who they are talking to or what these people really think of them. What is more, people often spend more time with their virtual friends chatting rather than dedicating time to the people that truly care about them. A final key argument relates to people turning lasier, with internet people will go less outside to make real friends that they can learn to know and can examine their behaviour. Even so virtual world has its benefits. One of the biggest is that you are able to meet a lot of more people than you can in real life. It also gives us a better opportunity to learn from other cultures. In fact many teenagers learn a lot from foreign friends whom they have met through the internet
In Norway, Christmas is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor. `Gledelig Jul' or `God Jul' is the Norwegian way of wishing `Merry Christmas'. A unique tradition in Norway relates to the Christmas tree that Norway gifts to England every Christmas. The tree is basically an annual present to the United Kingdom, to honor the help rendered by the British people to the natives, during the Second World War. The tree is made to stand in Trafalgar Square, in the middle of London. Hundreds of people, from around the city, come to watch the gifted Christmas tree, when the lights are turned on. Read on to know more about Christmas traditions and celebrations in Norway.
Guitar Lesson - How to Read Guitar Tablature TAB or tablature is the most common method of writing out music for the guitar. It is different from classical music notation in that; TAB uses ordinary numbers and keyboard characters as opposed to standard musical notation which uses symbols. Because of this format, anyone with a computer can write or read TAB making it the most user friendly way to read and communicate guitar music. Also TAB relates directly to the fret board of your guitar meaning that you may easily see where you put your fingers. In the full version of Jamorama, both standard musical notation and tablature are used. But for this six day course we will only use TAB. The reason for this is that tablature is very easy to read and you should have no problems learning TAB in a few short minutes of reading. TAB has some weak points, the worst of which is that rhythm can't be easily indicated

Gulliver's first adventure takes place in Lilliput. Gulliver gets shipwrecked and finds himself tied down by a considerable number of little people called Lilliputians. The Lilliputians stood only six inches high. During this time Swift recognized that England was also small in stature but was dominant force and had a great influence in Europe. England, despite its small size, had the potential to defeat any nation that might try to conquer them. Swift relates this situation with the Lilliputians. They only stood six inches tall but had the power to take on the, "ManMountain", Gulliver. The ability of the Lilliputians to capture someone ten times their size can be seen as reinforcing their strength as a small nation, such as England. Thus becoming and remaining a great and powerful country. Swift's personal life surfaced when Queen Anne represented the Lilliputian Empress. She was

02.2012 Marketing Plans for Service Business Introduction I read a book named Marketing Plans for Service Businesses. Authors were Malcolm McDonald and Adrian Payne. Before writing about the content I would recommend this book for everybody, because the difficult subject was written very clearly and understandably there. Chapter 1 It provides a broad view of marketing as it relates to services. It describes the marketing concept and some misunderstandings about marketing. It particularly emphasizes the development of the service value proposition as it is at the heart of the strategic marketing plan for a service business. They bring out definition of marketing: · Defining markets
value of the fundamental signal to the mean value of the root-sum-square of its harmonics (generally, only the first 5 harmonics are significant). 5. SFDR- Spurious free dynamic range is the ratio of the rms value of the signal to the rms value of the worst spurious signal (fake signal) regardless of where it falls in the frequency spectrum. 6. Channels relate to the inputs of the ADC can either be multiplexed or individually selected. 7. Linearity relates to how well a ADC follows a linear function. All ADCs are to a certain extend non-linear. 8. All ADC are depended on temperature, operating temperature is defined as the temperature at which the ADC functions correctly. 9. Because of that it was necessary to separate legislature and judiciary so that state could make laws not courts. The clear distinction between legislature and judiciary has weakened in many counties as the courts are able to challenge the legality of a law made by parliament. Lawmakers were often influenced by the canon law. Canon law had a stronger influence in countries with less secular ideology. 5. Civil law Civil law – the part of the legal system that relates to personal matters, such as marriage and property, rather than crime Public law – the area of law that deals with the relationship between the government and other organizations or between the government and the public Private law – the area of law that deals with disagreements between people or companies Family law – an area of the law that deals with matrimonial matters and domestic relations Plaintiff – someone who makes a legal complaint against someone else in court
Reflexive pronouns: A reflexive pronoun is a pronoun that is preceded by the noun or pronoun to which it refers (its antecedent) within the same clause. In English, the reflexive pronouns are myself, yourself, thyself, himself (in some dialects, "his self"), herself, itself, oneself, ourselves, yourselves, and themselves (in some dialects, "their selves"). "I see myself" or "She sees herself" Relative pronouns: A relative pronoun "relates" a subordinate clause to the rest of the sentence. It may be found in adjective and noun clauses. A relative pronoun is found only in sentences with more than one clause. In modern English there are five relative pronouns: that, which, who, whom, and whose. He who laughs last laughs best. Much of first aid is common sense and people are almost certain to learn some elements as they go through their life. Such as knowing to put on a plaster to a cut on a finger). However, effective life saving first aid needs training by experts, especially where it relates to possibly fatal illnesses and injuries. To be adequately trained, a person must pass a course, but then due to regular changes in procedures and protocols, must attend regular courses in order to ensure they are doing the best for their patient. 6. The only one I could remember was Euro News, but this short clip, that was repeatedly shown, wasn't useful at all. Wikipedia is the site that has the best general info about almost anything a person might need. This, as well, is the place where I took my first information from. Also, a lot of information about the period of transition I got from the special site (europa.eu), which introduces the European Union, the euro and everything that relates to this topic. These various newspapers have treated this concern very, very differently. As many as we have people in Estonia, as much we have possible dissimilar opinions about the coming of euro. Some people have very negative attitude about the euro, yet some of them are really satisfied with the fact that we changed the kroon for the euro. The problem has solved as it was planned to. The kroon was replaced with the Kati-Liis Karu 03.01.2011

The composition of family groups, the prevalence of special-interest groups and attitudes toward them, racial diversity and recreational lifestyles are all important to consider when a country is being investigated as a potential export market. HOW DOES CULTURE AFFECT INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS? Culture is the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular person or society. • In a business context, culture relates to what behaviour is common and accepted professionally in one location, compared to another. What may be acceptable business practice in one country, may be very different from the approach that is used by businesses overseas. Therefore, recognising how culture can affect international business is something that should be understood in order to avoid misunderstandings between colleagues and clients, and also to make sure that businesses are presenting

One, perhaps barefooted, unwelcome foreign soldier stumbled upon a Scots Thistle, and cried out in pain, thus alerting Scots to their presence. Some sources suggest the specific occasion was the Battle of Largs, which marked the beginning of the departure of the Viking monarch Haakon IV of Norway, who had harried the coast for some years. Spiky plants such as brambles appear to have been used around forts since time immemorial, so the story, whether it factually relates to the Haakon episode or not, likely is the culmination of more than one such event over time. In some variants, it is invading English which stumble on a thistle, but the story predates this time. Numerous plants are referred to in Scottish song and verse. These include Robert Burns A Red, Red Rose, Hugh MacDiarmid's A Drunk Man Looks at the Thistle, Sorley MacLean's Hallaig, Harry Lauder's I Love A Lassie and in the 21st century, Runrig's And The Accordions Played
provides a link between the thesis statement and the body. Keep in mind that you should never summarize your essay in your conclusion; try to introduce a new idea in the conclusion an idea that will leave your readers thinking. How to decide what to write in the conclusion? 5 Connect your thesis statement with the body of your essay, then go ahead and describe how this turn of events or whatever you have written about relates to you being an ideal applicant, and how does it relate to your decision to apply for college admission. It is a good idea to use rhetorical devices in the conclusion as long as it's not very overdone. The main point is to connect your changes to your current plans. Types of essays: You can write three types of essays. You should judge by the clues given in the application to decide what kind of a logical structure you should use to tie up your points together in a coherent whole
understanding of individuality is an expression of a particular historical epoch, namely of the modern world. Hegel is thus regarded as one of the first philosophers of modernity and of a particularly modern understanding of history. If there is a unifying ambition throughout his vast writings, this ambition lies in his attempt to describe the origins and implications of this image of the individual and how it relates to the religious, economic, and political aspects of modern life. Here he shows how this notion of individuality is rooted in practical life but also that it has a fundamental tension with the expression of ethical life.
Each of the 5 Ps stands for a different approach to strategy: 1. Plan. 2. Ploy. 3. Pattern. 4. Position. 5. Perspective. As a Plan, strategy needs to be developed in advance and with purpose. As a Ploy, strategy is a means of outsmarting the competition. With strategy as a Pattern, we learn to appreciate that what was successful in the past can lead to success in the future. With Position, strategy is about how the organization relates to its competitive environment, and what it can do to make its products unique in the marketplace. Perspective emphasizes the substantial influence that organizational culture and collective thinking can have on strategic decision making within a company. Understanding and using each element helps you develop a robust, practical and achievable business strategy. *a strategy in a small organization, *learning organization, what is a policy,

At the front, they listen to the enemy transports and guns. They detect that the enemy is bringing troops to the front, and they can hear that the English have strengthened their artillery. and the properties of the natural world. In his books, one theme is presented repeatedly: "Nature loves simplicity." From his friend Brahe, Kepler learned that it was necessary to take more accurate measurements while observing the movement of the heavenly bodies. In the end, Kepler determined the three laws of planetary motion, which he published between 1609 and 1619. (1) planets move in elliptical orbits. (2) explained the varying speed of the planets and so, retrograde motion, (3) relates the movement of one planet to all the others. [ (1) Iga planeet tiirleb ümber Päikese mööda ellipsit (ovaaljoont), mille ühes fookuses asub Päike. (2) Planeedi raadiusvektor katab võrdsetes ajavahemikes võrdsed pindalad. (3) Planeetide tiirlemisperioodide ruudud suhtuvad nagu nende planeetide orbiitide suurte pooltelgede kuubid. ] With the discovery of these three laws within the framework of the heliocentric universe, the paths of the planets were mapped forever

that might change before they become relevant. Coding and designing for uncertain future requirements implies the risk of spending resources on something that might not be needed. Related to the "communication" value, simplicity in design and coding should improve the (quality of) communication. A simple design with very simple code could be easily understood by most programmers in the team. Within Extreme Programming, feedback relates to different dimensions of the system development: Feedback from the system: by writing unit tests, or running periodic integration tests, the programmers have direct feedback from the state of the system after implementing changes. Feedback from the customer: The functional tests (aka acceptance tests) are written by the customer and the testers. They will get concrete feedback about the current state of their system. This was perpetuated through the 19th and early 20th centuries, especially by cat fanciers looking for new and exotic cats to import. When China reopened to foreigners after the Opium Wars, a number of missionaries, entrepreneurs, cat fanciers and researchers went looking in vain for the lop-eared cat. In his book "Variation of Animals and Plants Under Domestication" Charles Darwin referred briefly to a drooping eared race of cats in China. In "The Cat" by Lady Cust (1870) it states "Bosman relates that in the province of Pe-chily, in China, there are cats with long hair and drooping ears, which are in great favour with the Chinese ladies; others say this is not a cat but an animal called 'Samxces'" In his 1885 book "The Cat: Natural History, Husbandry ["Hygiene"] and Illnesses" Gaston Percheron suggested the lop-eared cat might be a hybrid between the cat and a marten: "Certain respected naturalists even claim even that the [domestic cat] mates with the

In many cases where an adjustment is needed, the resulting calibration parameters can be calculated in software and stored. For example, you might bring the system (or just the sensor) to a known temperature and measure the output. You know that an ideal sensor should produce an output voltage X for temperature T, but the real sensor produces an output voltage Y for temperature T. By measuring the output at several temperatures, you can build up a table of information that relates the output of that specific sensor to temperature. This information can be stored in memory. When the micro- processor reads the sensor, it looks in the memory (or does a calculation) to determine the actual temperature. You would want to look at storing this calibration with the sensor if it is not physically located with the microprocessor. This way, the sensor can be changed without recalibrating. Figure 1.1 shows three means of handling this calibration.
Let's look at the word manufacture. Manufacture is a combination of two root words, manu and fact. Using the list of roots, we can see that manu means "hand" and fact means "make" or "do". Therefore, we can infer the meaning "make by hand". Let's look at another example, biography. Again, using the list of roots, we see that bio means "life" and graph "write". Therefore, we can conclude that the word biography relates to the "writing of a life" or the written story of a person's life. Root Meaning Example belli war rebellion biblio book bibliography bio life biology cosm order microcosm cycl circle cyclone
common failing, I believe. By all that I have ever read, I am convinced that it is very common indeed; that human nature is particularly prone to it, and that there are very few of us who do not cherish a feeling of self-complacency on the score of some quality or other, real or imaginary. Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us." "If I were as rich as Mr. Darcy," cried a young Lucas, who came with his sisters, "I should not care how proud I was. I would keep a pack of foxhounds, and drink a bottle of wine a day." "Then you would drink a great deal more than you ought," said Mrs. Bennet; "and if I were to see you at it, I should take away your bottle directly."
Once in a while it's fun to turn the tables and show that Tricksters themselves can be outwitted. Sometimes a Trickster like the Hare will try to take advantage of a weaker, slower animal like Mr. Tortoise. In folktales and fables such as " T h e Tortoise and the Hare," the slowest outwits the fastest by dogged persistence or by cooperating with others of its kind to outwit the faster animal. Tricksters like to stir up trouble for its own sake. Joseph Campbell relates a Nigerian story in which the Trickster god Edshu walks down a road in a hat that's red on one side and blue on the other. W h e n people comment, " W h o was that going by in a red hat?" they get into fights with people on the other side of the road who insist the hat was blue. T h e god takes credit for the trouble, saying, "Spreading strife is my greatest joy." Tricksters are often catalyst characters, who affect the lives of others but are unchanged themselves
Kalevipoeg (the son of Kalev, legendary ruler of the Estonians) shines as an exemplary icon of national traits. The composer Alexei Sevastianov commented: The value of the work stands in retaining the unique national fragrance which belongs to the epic. The nation is immortal, it is unconquerable: this is the idea behind the literary poem. 3 It could be said that the Symphony, written by Eduard Oja (1945-47), is subjective, a document that relates an Estonian notion of the world. 4 The national form of articulation, in the first two movements: dark attitudes, devout meditation and spiritual warmth are joined in the third movement by the distress of the times of war and the melancholy of the aftermath. The themes are not homogeneous in quality. It would appear that Oja has the ability to blend all the elements together, though a certain creative fatigue of material can be felt. Considering that this is his last work (his “swan
time (Grandson's drowning, 2005), appear puzzling. On March 1, 2005, golfing leg- end Jack Nicklaus' 17-month-old grandson drowned in a hot tub accident. One week later, a still-devastated Nicklaus brushed aside thoughts of future golf-related activities, including the upcoming Masters tournament, saying "I think that with what's happened to us in our family, my time is going to be spent in much differ- ent ways. I have absolutely zero plans as it relates to the game of golf."Yet, on the day of this statement, he made two remarkable exceptions: He gave a speech to a group of prospective members at a Florida golf club, and he played in a charity tournament hosted by long-time course rival Gary Player. What was so powerful to have pulled Nicklaus away from his grieving fam- ily and into a pair of events that could only be seen as wholly inconsequential compared to the one he was living through with his family? There is (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) in porcine relatively little data, however, on the interac- longissimus muscle between 0 and 8 days tion between caspases and the calpain enzyme postmortem (Kemp et al. 2006b). In this system in skeletal muscle as it relates to post- study, caspases were found to be most active mortem proteolysis. A negative relationship early postmortem (<4 hr), and caspase activ- between peak caspase 3/7 activity at 8 hours ity diminished with postmortem time. It was postmortem and calpastatin activity at 0 and also observed that caspase activity (caspase 2 days postmortem has been observed in the 3/7 and caspase 9) and the abundance of muscles of normal lambs but not in callipyge
This worldwide organization of mutually helpful amateur cryptologists publishes a small magazine every other month with cryptograms for solution and articles on how to solve them. Dues are $3.00 a year; the treasurer is Miss Edna Bickley, 312a West Jackson, Mexico, Missouri 65265. Two books describe the standard cipher systems and how to solve them. Abraham Sinkov's Elementary Crypt-analysis (Random House, 1968, 189 pages) is very clear and effectively relates the techniques to the underlying mathematics. Helen F. Gaines's Cryptanalysis (1939, reprinted Dover, 1956, 237 pages) covers more ground but is less understandable. Other works deal with aspects of the subject. Barbara W. Tuchman recounts the political effects of the most important cryptogram solution in history in The Zimmermann Telegram (1958, reprinted Macmillan, 1966, 244 pages). Ladislas Farago's The Broken Seal (Random House, 1967, 441 pages) tells about the
GARLIC EXTRACT (ALLICIN POTENTIAL, S-ALLYL CYSTEINE) Garlic extract and its constituent parts have been used for applications ranging from cholesterol management to inhibiting lethal MRSA staph infections. Strangely, test subjects and I have had the best fat-loss results with extracts designed to deliver relatively high doses of allicin. Allicin, if delivered in a stable form, appears to have the ability to inhibit fat regain. The reason our results were "strange" relates to the "stable form" bit. Most research indicates that allicin should have almost zero bioavailability more than six days after extraction from garlic cloves, particularly after exposure to stomach acid. Our confounding results could be due to a combination of other organic components, most notably one precursor to allicin: S-Allyl cysteine (alliin). S-Allyl cysteine exhibits outstanding oral bioavailability, near 100% in large mammals.14
