Animal Experimentation

Animal Experimentation Based on the Constitution of Estionia, we are all born with equal rights. However, mankind denys that animals share these rights. Animals are just as entitled to the rights of living, avoiding pain as humans are. Nonetheless, we still abuse them, often even without a second thought. Despite the wide use of animal testing, the research gained from it is not helpful to mankind. The chemicals and medicines tested on animals reacts differently on every species. That is why results gained from animal testing could be incorrect and misleading. In many cases, not only are the results wrong, but the opposite can be true for humans; a drug may cure a disease in lab animals but have an bad effect when used in treating people for the same symptoms. Only the study of human patients will ultimately lead to valid research.

To Protect or not Protect Minor Languages

For example Estonian is a minor language, because it has so little amount of speakers, just over a million comparing to German that has at least 100 million native speakers. Many minor languages have been mixed together or been developed from other languages. I think that the minor languages should be protected, because with languages come with a part of culture and if we terminate the variety of cultures that have developed throughout the evolution of mankind then the world would be boring. There would be no languages to learn, no foreign songs to sing and no joy of knowing that you can speak to a foreigner in his mother tongue. Also people are more friendly and open to you if they can speak freely in their mother language. But not protecting the minor languages can also be a good thing. As we know the world is globalising and the closest thing to a global language is English. Most of the internet and

Should parents be obliged to immunize their children against childhood diseases

Should parents be obliged to immunize their children against childhood diseases?

as measles, tuberculosis and diphtheria have declined dramatically nowadays due to preventive care, which has protected children from potentially deadly diseases. Some members of our society will mention freedom of choice and insist that parents can make their own decision. But some old diseases still exist in the world and those who fail to take their assigned dose of medicine may negate the efforts of those who do. So those some parents have to think about the rest of mankind and immunize their children as well. In conclusion, immunization is one of the factors supporting the health of people. I firmly believe that parents should be made to vaccinate their children mandatory by law.

The ecological footstep of mankind is getting bigger and bigger by the day. Although everybody seems to acknowledge the problem and also care about the wellbeing and preservation of our planet the situation is only getting worse. Firstly, the ever growing need for energy is taking its toll on the environment. Due to the fast growth of the economical and industrial sector in recent years the need for energy has grown dramatically. Global warming which is responsible for the melting of the ice cap which leads to the rise of sea level is mainly caused by the high use of fossil fuels. Secondly, over-consumption caused by population growth on Earth leads to pollution which is becoming highly dangerous to the environment. The decomposition of materials used nowadays is often hundreds of years long. Unfortunately the number of reusable products is getting smaller by the day. Often the reusable product is also less affordable to the consumer wh...

Dear Neander Taal, Once again, I find disappointment. Once again, I find no satisfaction. Once again, I find that my motivations for writing this letter are not of insult or hatred, but of the deepest love for mankind and the truest concern for its future generations. It is requisite, even in this summary sketch, to go back a few years to see how I admit I have a tendency to become a bit insensitive whenever I rebuke Laivi Tuvahe for trying to leach integrity and honor from our souls. While I am desirous of mending this tiny personality flaw, by brainwashing her apologists with anarchism, Laivi makes them easy to lead, easy to program, and easy to enslave.

Today a lot of people have become TV-addicts, in other words couch potatoes. Instead of going to a theatre or reading books mankind prefer to watch TV. But still, television plays a very important role in peoples life in spite of the rise of the Internet & other high-technology sources of information. So today mass media offers us a great variety to choose from. There are many educational, political & entertainment programmes, so everyone can find what to listen to, to read or to watch.

through the senses. It's the ability of the mind to build mental scenes, things or events that do not exist, are not there or have ever happened in the past. Knowledge on the other hand is familiarity, awareness (osoznanije), or understanding gained (nakoplennqj) through experience or study. From the definition itself we can notice that to have knowledge you have to study or experience something in order to gain it but for imagination it is limitless, and also a gift from God to mankind and in fact has inspired us to gain more knowledge. Imagination is more important than knowledge as Albert Einstein said, "Imagination is everything. Imagination is within us, and on the other hand knowledge is learnt through schooling and experience..." Imagination is also what infuses faith. God Himself used imagination in the creation of everything even the humans. This as a matter of fact was the beginning of imagination before knowledge was embraced by man. I believe that even our Civilization wouldn’t exist without it The very backbone of our society, Freedom, is also a product of imagination. Democracies and free speech wouldn’t be around if mankind didn’t start to think of an equal and peaceful world. Humanity could still be having massive wars trying to enslave or kill eachother wihtout remorse and It has taken many great thinkers and many innocent lives to make this world what it is today. Natural Disasters: Does Mankind Even Stand a Chance? Throughout time, man has fought valiantly against the forces of nature. We have successfully climbed the tallest mountains, sailed the greatest seas, and defeated the mighty dinosaurs. But we are no match for nature's greatest weapon: Natural Disasters. As far as natural disasters go, the deadly trinity of mudslides, whirlpools, and meteors is man's greatest nemesis. Mudslides strike without warning and with deadly force. Every day, across the world, unsuspecting villagers are hammered by the force of 36,000 tons of that soft wet dirt known as mud, as it cascades down mountains, rolls across plains, swoops through valleys, and takes flight over cliffs. Once the mud strikes, it leaves the villages and cities in ruins, as houses and other structures are quickly destroyed. And just as every day these villages are leveled by these disastrous attacks, the world's top scientists are...

Idealization of nature in Romantic poetry

Idealization of Nature in Romantic Poetry One of the main characteristics of romanticism in general is the constant praising of nature and connecting it with almost everything. As the second half of the 18 th century was the time of the industrial revolution, urbanization and mankind's distancing from nature in every way, it is not surprising that as a result it became more and more important to and valued by people it had suddenly become something remote and far from everyday life, somewhat a luxury. The utmost way this luxury manifests in romantic poetry is nature's ability to help whoever takes the time to value its divinity get in touch with themselves and get away from everything that might influence their way of acting. Nature provides the ideal atmosphere and

Siobhan Kattago has advocated for pluralism in politics and historical interpretation. She wrote that mankind must recognize, tolerate, and even respect different understandings of history. We must find points of common interest, yet respect cultural differences. She suggested that it is possible for two or more right versions of history, multiple truths, to exist side by side, at least to the point that we can recognize them as valid viewpoints.3 In my opinion, attaining this evenhanded analysis of the past is one of the main priorities of Estonian historical research

dimension. Also, the contrast between society and nature then becomes very distinct. We are then presented with the idea of civilization going down the drain just because of some human vices, like envy. Sir Ralph let his jealousy of the Abbot cloud his clear sightedness. When throwing the bell to the depths of the sea, he did not perceive that in the future, he might need the services of the warning device for himself. So it could be said that Southey believed the doom for mankind to lie in the selfishness and short-sightedness of men. Southey used very typical romanticist images in this poem. The sea was a very popular theme at that period, because it is the best proof of nature's supremacy over humans. The scene at sea can change very quickly, at one moment being calm and smooth, and at the next with a raging storm. It is absolutely uncontrollable, and so is the best way to show people how small they are when compared to the awesome power of Mother Nature.

interpretation of the Koran. For Muslims is also remarkable to believe in the ,,Day of Resurrection", Yawm al-Quiyamah. They believe the timee of Qiyamah is preordained by God but unkown to man. The trials and tribulations preceding and during the Qiyamah are described in the Koran and the hadith, and also in the commentaries of scholars. The Koran emphazises bodily resurecction, a break from the pre-Islamic Arabian understanding of death. On Yawm al-Qiyamah, Muslims believe all mankind will be judged on their good and bad deeds. The Koran lists several sins that can condemn a person to hell, such as disbelief in God, and dishonesty, however, the Koran makes it clear God will forgive the sins of those who repent if he so wills. Good deeds, such as charity, prayer and compassion towards animals, will be rewarded with entry to heaven. For Muslims is heaven a place of joy and bliss, with Koranic references describing its features and the physical plesarues to come.

Four students prefer butter, and another four eat neither. Conclusion It is noticeable that the eating habits of schoolleavers of Freedonian Secondary School are not very healthy. Moreover, there are no students who have both breakfast and school lunch, eat more than four slices of brown bread per day, and avoid fat. Since the beginning of human life, enormous changes around us have taken us to a path of scientific progress, which in turn has benefited mankind in a number of ways. In every era, man has innovated many things in order to cater for his rising needs. Undoubtedly, the emergence of necessities has always led man to creative exploration. As time passed, primitive man realized other needs arising around him. After catering to his fundamental needs of food and shelter, man felt the need for acquiring goods which he could not produce himself. This led to the idea of the barter system under

of divine revelation--either directly from God or through angels. The Qur'an mentions the names of numerous figures considered prophets in Islam, including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus, among others. Islamic theology says that all of God's messengers since Adam preached the message of Islam--submission to the will of the one God. Islam is described in the Qur'an as "the primordial nature upon which God created mankind", and the Qur'an states that the proper name Muslim was given by Abraham. As a historical phenomenon, Islam originated in Arabia in the early 7th century. Islamic texts depict Judaism and Christianity as prophetic successor traditions to the teachings of Abraham. The Qur'an calls Jews and Christians "People of the Book" (ahl alkitb), and distinguishes them from polytheists. Muslims believe that parts of the previously revealed

He is extensively quoted. During his lifetime, Twain became a friend to presidents, artists, industrialists and European royalty. Twain enjoyed immense public popularity. His keen wit and incisive satire earned him praise from both critics and peers. American author William Faulkner called Twain "the father of American literature." Twain began his career writing light, humorous verse but evolved into a grim, almost profane chronicler of the vanities, hypocrisies and murderous acts of mankind. At mid-career, with Huckleberry Finn, he combined rich humor, sturdy narrative and social criticism. Twain was a master at rendering colloquial speech and helped to create and popularize a distinctive American literature built on American themes and language. Many of Twain's works have been suppressed at times for various reasons. Adventures of Huckleberry Finn has been repeatedly restricted in American high schools, not least for its frequent use of the word

The Medium Is the Message

Pope Pius XII was deeply concerned that there be Serious study of the media today. On February 17, 1950, he said: It is not an exaggeration to say that the future of modern society and the stability of its inner life depend in large part on the maintenance of an equilibrium between the strength of the techniques of communication and the capacity of the individual's own reaction. Failure in this respect has for centuries been typical and total for mankind. Subliminal and docile acceptance of media impact has made them prisons without walls for their human users. As A. J. Liebling remarked in his book The Press, a man is not free if he cannot see where he is going, even if he has a gun to help him get there. For each of the media is also a powerful weapon with which to clobber other media and other groups. The result is that the present age has been one of multiple civil wars that are not limited to the world of art and entertainment
