A path around the rim of the crater allows you to observe it from all sides. The water level of the lake changes with the seasons, as you can see from the photos below. Tapered channel (Tapchan) The Tapchan concept is one of the oldest wave harvesting technologies to generate electric energy. Tapchan is the acronym for TAPered CHANnel. This power plant uses the kinetic energy of the waves reaching the shores. The principle behind is, that an incoming wave flows over a tapered channel of concrete into a a higher basin. The tapering is used to enlarge the velocity of the water flow following the continuity equation. The kinetic energy of the wave is transferred into potential energy of stored water in the upper basin. This principle follows the hydrodynamic law of Bernoulli's equation. The coal dismantling work is hard, because miners have to dig on their knees. After 7 and a half hours of work the ,,travel" to the surface. After a days work the miners are all covered in coal dust. Only 1/3 mines have baths for miners. In home the miner has to boil water and wash himself in a small basin. The houses in industrial towns are in bad shape, most of them are about to fall down, but people still live in these because there is nowhere else to live. There is mass unemployment in towns like these. Most likely every third person is living on the dole and there is no chance of getting work. A family gets about twenty-five to thirty shillings per week, which fifteen shillings go for food, including fuel for cooking.

The idea and opportunity to develop a harbour for the museum arose in August 2003, when it became clear that the contract to keep the ice breaker ,,Suur Tõll" at the Admiralty basin in the city centre was about to expire. Part of the seaplane harbour belonged to the Ministry of the Environment and the ownership of the other part was under dispute.
