Why did I choose university education over vocational training?

Why did I choose university education over vocational training? An essay Why more and more people nowadays tend to go to universities rather than to vocational schools? Will going to the university open all the doors in our lives? Is it necessary to have a higher education in order to survive in today’s economy? Those are just some of the questions that may arise when we start talking about the topic. Going to the university was once only for the children from wealthier families. Now as we have a lot of free higher education available, many people tend to use this wonderful opportunity. Although it might seem a great way to start building your way

Education Estonian Style

Education Estonian Style Until the age of 7 you usually go to kindergarten, which means that you obtain preschool education. In grades 1-9 you obtain basic education. In grades 7-9 in addition to obtaining basic education, it is possible for you to get prevocational training in basic school. For persons without basic education who have passed the minimum school-leaving age (17 years) it is possible to continue their education in vocational schools on vocational training programmes (within 0,52,5 years one obtains vocational skills) or in upper-secondary schools for adults. If you have basic education, then you have choices to continue your studies: Upper-secondary school for general upper-secondary education (3 years). Vocational school for vocational secondary education (at least 3 years). If you have (general or vocational) secondary education, then you have three choices to continue your studies.

If I Were a Minister of Education

If I Were a Minister of Education In the last five years we have witnessed several changes in the education system. Although some people find it useful and needed, others find it tragic. What has changed and what would I do to make school a better place? Firstly, there are several things that has been changed in the last few years, such as financing vocational schools. Students of vocational schools get paid for good grades and in some schools even for attending school. Even dorms are paid for students. That is true, we have a chance of getting a little scholarship in high schools, if we graduate with a medal, but it is times and times harder to achieve. In fact government has started to close high schools because they think that there are too many of them. It looks like our country wants only graduates with vocational education, which I find really sad.

Work or University? After finishing secondary education students have to decide vhether to go to work or continue their education at a university. If a student decides to go to work after finishing secondary school, he does not have the best advantages for getting a good job. Today employers value high-quality vocational qualifications, so it might not be as good as choice as continuing your education. However, if a student chooses to continue his education, he has many possibilities, for example, university or vocational education. At a university he can choose what he wants to study and for how long, for instance, to get a bachelors degree he has to complete three years of study at a university. And after graduating from university he can, continue with post-garduate studies to

Estonian and British Education System

Estonian and British Education System Estonian and British education system is not quite different. In Estonia, the education system is based on six levels which include the: kindergarten, primary school, basic school, secondary school and university or vocational school. In Britain, the education system is also based on six levels which include the: nursery school, infant school, junior school, secondary school, 6th form and university or college. What is similar for both systems is that the first level of education starts at age of three. While in Estonia this level is called Kindergarten, then in Britain it is called Nursery school. Kindergarten is for children´s from age three to six, but Nursery school is for children´s three to four.

Options after secondary school

Options after secondary school Im going to talk about different choices after secondary school. Firstly, a lot of students after graduating secondary school want to study more. There are two ways to continue your studies. The first choice is to continue the academic education in universities. It is the best way to educate yourself and later after graduation there will be some jobs with quite big salaries. The other way to continue your studies is to get vocational education. It includes different professions on technical field. It is a really great way to quarantee yourself a job, because after vocational school you have the necessary skills to work on certain job. In addition to that, there is one more option going to work. It is the best choice for some people who just do not want to study anymore or who do not know yet what to do with their lives. If I were the minister of education

If I were the minister of education, I would do changes in education system. We have a lot of problems in education. Firstly, I would change the exam system. I will lose the national tests to make the schools themselves and instead of school examinations. It increases the benefit of the examinations passed. What is very positive. Also, it would make life easier for students. Secondly, we should pay more attention to rural schools. There are a lot of schools which would be needed to renovate. It should be a lot of money to invest. We should not focus only on the city schools. Finally, as far as I know from year to year decrease in the number of high school graduates. And this is a great loss for our education. Because we need more and more people to teach at the University of engineers and IT professionals. In conclusion, educational needs of our increasingly well-educated people. This is our future. High School education shoul...

Even teachers and students say that some changes need to be made. Maybe our government should consultate more with poeple who know the real situtation when they create new laws. If I were minister of education I would deffenetly prefere American educational system to Russian. Because our new generation of children use English a lot more than Russian. In addition I would give more money to renovate our schools and raise also teatchers salary and students scholarship. This would boost up their motivation to give quality education to our children. I have attended primary school in a school what is near to Rakvere, in an english KALLAK class. I furthered my studies at Rakvere Vocational school for the next 2 years. turn of the century. A secondary education is by far the most popular level of education. This shows that it is a centric way to cover ground in life. A significant number of men have basic education. This implies that most men prefer not to pursue education. In case of women, they want to get a better education. This is demonstrated by the fact that only 18 % of women have basic education. A large proportion of women have chosen secondary vocational. This indicates that is chosen an occupation, which suggest a fixed income. A higher level of education is not certainly necessary. This is illustrated by the fact that about 6 % of people have elementary education. A small number of men and women have no schooling. This suggests that some people do not have opportunity to get an education. A substantial number of people have a university degree. This implies that education is valued and people achieve goals.

I would like to bring out the education getting more and more creative as a positive change. I have noticed the use of active teaching methods and personal approach to the students. If I would be the Minister of Education, I would make the first change in turning the educational system to be more student-centered. I find, that not only those students need personal approach, that are going to study in a college but also those, who are going to continue their studies in a vocational school or are heading to work. I would definately change the exam system, so it would reduce the students' studying load in high school. Moreover, it would give the opportunity to specialise on the areas the students are interested in while acquiring secondary education. According to the previously written, I can say that there have been a couple of positive changes made in the Estonian educational system. Still, when I would be the Minister of Education
