Visions of a sustainable world Creating a shared vision of a sustainable and desirable future is the most critical task facing humanity today. This vision must be of a world that we all want, a world that provides permanent prosperity within the Earth’s biophysical constraints in a fair. At the centre of the idea of sustainability is an ethical imperative to pass on a undiminished future to our children. To bring our world toward sustainability — or any other goal — we need to take different kinds of steps, which require different kinds of knowledge, talent, skill, and work. Future will be sustainable when citizens are concerned enough about the environment that they want to make a difference. It will happen when diverse groups from industry, environment, schools, service clubs, business, governments & the public come together and work towards a common vision of sustainability for our communities - bal...

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before; But the silence was unbroken, and the darkness gave no token, And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, "Lenore!" This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, "Lenore!" Merely this and nothing more. ..... http://www.blackcatpoems.com/p/the_raven.html "Spirits of the Dead" .... lines of text will also make the movie boring. The story has to be balanced and have a point. After the story has been completed the movie needs good actors, that could play the characters and would really fit into the roles. This is easier when the movie is not based on anything else, though the actors still need to handle their roles nicely. When the movie is based on something else, the actors have to be picked with great precision because the viewers already have their visions of the characters and the director has to work hard to get the actors as similar to the characters in the original story as he can. When the characters have been selected and the movie is already being shot it needs to have some great special effects. Some movies have been successful even without any special effects, but nowadays people expect to see special effects in every movie. Special effects are now mostly made with the help of computers and the level of the

Francis Bacon, but he is best known for his Shakespearian Grammar (1870) and religious allegory the Flatland. William Blake · William Blake (17571827) was an English poet, philosopher and artist. He was one of the most extraordinary personalities to emerge during the period of Romanticism. He believed that spiritual reality lies hidden behind the visible world of the senses and he attempted to create a symbolic language to represent his spiritual visions. He began printing his own illustrated poems in colour in 1787. The first example was Songs of innocence(1789). Towards the end of his life, he joined a circle of younger artists who appreciated his remarkable powers. It was not until the late 19th century that Blake's work achieved general attention. He was extremely prolific and his prints, illustrations, and paintings can be found in several important public collections in England and the USA.

Three-quarters of the damage could have been avoided without diminishing the national housing programme by a single jerry-built villa. The destructiveness must be checked. Lack of imagination. Imagination is the power to see what is not there, to experience what has not yet come to be, to walk in the past or in the future. The English people have little time for visions, they have no leisure in which to dream. The man in the street must see a society that is strong and safe in the comfort of a wide association of states, a community in which no man is poor or unemployed, in which there is no servility to the pomp of wealth and no which children are the free and happy citizens. This society does not yet exist, but only because we do not see it. There is nothing in this humble vision of a better social order that exceeds our

Scholars of comparative law often overlooked family law as an important and distinctive site for the contestation of norms and values, perhaps because they viewed family law as too political for the technical inquiry carried out by comparativists. Other scholars characterized the family as a unique place, the opposite of the market, where traditional rather than modern discourses are at play and where moral and religious values, often in tension with secular visions, shape legal institutions. Family law scholars tended to focus on single legal regimes, rarely opening their inquiry to comparative methods. 3.Actors in CL The modern founding figure of comparative and anthropological jurisprudence was Sir Henry Maine, a British jurist and legal historian. In his 1861 work Ancient Law: Its Connection with the Early History of Society, and Its Relation to Modern Ideas, he set out his views on the development
free for those who have not seen this film yet and so may not contain some plot points. Set in 1954 US Marshall Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) accepts the case of a missing woman who has escaped from a mental institute for the criminally insane. He is assigned a new partner Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo). Teddy though has another reason for accepting the case, to find a man he believes killed his wife. He is haunted by images of his past atrocities committed in World War II and by visions of his dead wife. As he investigates he becomes more and more sure that there is something sinister being kept secret on the island and more afraid that he may never escape. That probably doesn't really do the plot justice but I'm afraid if I say to much I'll give away the ending. The way that Scorsese has crafted this film is really remarkable. The scenes are layered in a way where you never really know the true motivations behind many of the characters. A

ABSTRACT The aim of the current research is to find additional proof of the existence of telepathy. In order to do that, repetitive Ganzfeld experiment was performed. This is an experiment that is conducted between two people, in course of which one of the participants tries to mentally send a picture to the other person, who is in ganzfeld state. Ganzfeld state is a state of mild sensory deprivation, which makes the brain try to compensate the lack of normal audiovisual input by producing visions. Earlier researches have given reason to believe that telepathy exists and the outcomes of our experiments confirmed that, too. The results of our research exceeded the percentage one can expect by chance (25%) by 20,5 percentage points, which means that the percentage of successful experiments from all of the experiments was 45,5%. The research reached its goal, finding proof that telepathy, forwarding thoughts without any communication, is possible. SISSEJUHATUS

Larkin still clearly contemporary today. He is, in addition, acid, disagreeable, unpleasant, and we can catalogue these characteristics like the most appreciated by its followers. There have been cruel poets, great satirists, it is certain, and there are full poems of disappointment or even of hatred at all the times, but, generally, the voice of the poet is the one transude of melancholy that transmits transcendental words and visions. Not therefore the one of Larkin, Larkin transfers us, by means of his poetry, a vision of middle-aged conservative, that in a politically incorrect way in our days, does not stand children, detests the life in family, or be in a couple, he does not believe in anything and he does not wait anything of the life. His acid tone, bitter and slightly sardonic vision of the life that he displays to us in his work is a reality slap. He scorns the “literary life” and also the things that

The familiar witch of folklore and popular superstition is a combination of numerous influences. The characterization of the witch as an evil magic user developed over time. The Protestant Christian explanation for witchcraft commonly involves adiabolical pact. The witches or wizards engaged to such practices were alleged to reject Jesus and the sacraments; observe

Anneli Kritsmann-Lekstedt The present study is actual due to the fact that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been the world's longest conflict in the 20th as well at the beginning of the 21st centuries in the sense of national tensions and hot war. The controversy between the two nations, the Israelites and Palestinians and their ancestors, has lasted for more than a century. It has given rise to many questions and different historical visions. Many uninitiated bystanders as well as journalists guess that the roots of the problem exist in the deeper history of the area. With the present study and historical discussion, the author is trying 28 to prove that the conflict has lasted less than one hundred years and the earlier history is not directly connected with the present contradictions. According to the impartial opinion of the author of the paper, Jews and Islamic
Do you see its rings? Of course not. In Galileo's day, seeing something that could not be seen with the naked eye was the same thing seeing apparitions or hearing voices it was the work of the Devil! The religious authorities at Rome were uneasy with the New Science. Copernicus, Kepler and Galileo seemed to be turning the world upside down. The sun was the center of the cosmos, the earth moved and the sky seemed to hold hidden visions. In effect, the Scientific Revolution had created an invisible world behind the visible world and those men of an older generation, weaned on Aristotle and Aquinas were fearful of it. On April 12, 1615, Cardinal Bellarmine (15421621) wrote his famous LETTER TO FOSCARINI , a letter which expressed his displeasure with Copernican theory. The following year, Galileo was summoned [ kutsuti välja ] to Rome and ordered to desist teaching Copernican theory
Resembling Cohen’s (1979) ‘existential mode’ of touristic experience, yet more mobile and ephemeral than Benson and O’Reilly’s (2009) idyll-seeking lifestyle migrants, several participants ultimately aspired to find an ideal place to settle. This unspecified idyllic place was imagined as aesthetically pleasing, providing a strong spirit of community and representing value/belief systems congruent to their own. Their contemporary Shrangri-La- esque utopian visions were set in contrast to the perceived ‘toxicity’ of their generating societies, establishing these lifestyle travellers as representative of the most alienated of all tourist types (Maoz & Bekerman, 2010). One manifestation in which tourists inhabit such a revised notion of home is Auroville in southern India, where Sharpley and Sundaram (2005) describe the communal lives of a number of ‘permanent tourists’ who have settled in an expatriate community based on utopian ideals.

The importance of themes has been diminished, thematic transformations lead neither to development nor a harmonic scheme. The novelty of Eller in this work can be seen in his individual point of view on content and form, the latter being very detailed, elastic and capricious, creating a wholly novel phenomenon in Estonian music. All is connected with the important colour aspect: adding characteristic features to all that is in progress. The thought may soar in free fanciful visions while tied to the firmly anchored theme. The work is, strictly speaking, multi-imaged, the scanty thematic material being in no sense decisive. Eller is striving for figurativeness and sensitivity. Not one of the musical lines in his score has a finished, completed shape: the yarn, once interrupted in one line, will proceed in another. The critics did not find the work satisfactory in all respects, reproaching it being over burdened details.
plenty of work for character actors like T h e l m a Ritter and Tony Randall who could portray this wise-cracking, sarcastic version of a Mentor. MENTOR AS SHAMAN M e n t o r figures in stories are closely related to the idea of the shaman: the healer, the medicine man or woman, of tribal cultures. Just as Mentors guide the hero through the Special World, shamans guide their people through life. T h e y travel to other worlds in dreams and visions and bring back stories to heal their tribes. It's often the function of a Mentor to help the hero seek a guiding vision for a quest to another world. FLEXIBILITY OF THE M E N T O R ARCHETYPE Like the other archetypes, the M e n t o r or donor is not a rigid character type, but rather a function, a job which several different characters might perform in the course of a story. A character primarily manifesting one archetype — the hero, the
absolutely Present in whatever they do. There is consciousness and therefore quality in what they do, even the simplest task. Their purpose is to do everything in a sacred manner. As each human being is an integral part of the collective human consciousness, they affect the world much more deeply than is visible on the surface of their lives. THE NEW EARTH IS NO UTOPIA Is the notion of a new earth not just another utopian vision? Not at all. All utopian visions have this in common: the mental projection of a future time when all will be well, we will be saved, there will be peace and harmony and the end of our problems. There have been many such utopian visions. Some ended in disappointment, others in disaster. At the core of all utopian visions lies one of the main structural dysfunctions of the old consciousness: looking to the future for salvation. The only existence the future actually has is as a thought form in your mind,

YOUR SELF-CONCEPT Your self-concept has three parts, like a pie divided into three wedges. Each is linked with each of the others. All three elements together make up your personality. They largely determine what you think, feel, and do, and everything that happens to you. Your self-ideal is the first part of your personality and your self- concept. Your self-ideal is made up of all of your hopes, dreams, visions, and ideals. Your self-ideal is composed of the virtues, val- ues, and qualities that you most admire in yourself and others. Your self-ideal is the person you would most like to become, if you could be a perfect person in every way. These ideals guide and shape your behavior. Great men and women, leaders, and people of character are very clear about their values, visions, and ideals. They know who they are and what they believe in

After Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung is probably the most influental psychotherapist at all times. His contribution is not limited to this area only, but deals with many issues from pedagocics to alchemy. Being himself a son of a pastor Jung`s contribution to theology is remarkable. Carl had from early childhood religious visions and dreams content of what lead him out of the borders of Christian dogmatics. For example- he reached the conclusion taht God is not perfect and thus inchangeable, but developing in time. Confrontation with pious Job gave Him a reason to divide his original nature into two parts- Devil or Lucifer as His ,,dark" Son and Jesus as incarnation of all positive reality- His ,,light" Son.
