There are miles of hidden tunnels behind the cliff face which were created during the Middle Ages and had an important role in the defence of Britain during the Napoleonic wars. London, the capital of England, has a lot of famous sightseeings itself. One of the greatest is surely Buckingham Palace, which is the official London residence of British monarch, built in 1703 as a large townhouse for Duke of Buckingham. Also, Big Ben, the 150-years-old great bell of the clock at the north-eastern end of Palace of Westminster and is also the largest four-faced chiming clock in the world, and the Tower of London, a historic fortress and scheduled monument in Central London on the north bank of the River Thames, are great tourist attractions as well as St. Paul’s Cathedral, The British Airway’s London Eye,

Amy: How's that? Kate: Well, for one thing, cars aren't allowed in the city centre during the day so there's less noise and pollution. Amy: That's great! What did you do there? Kate: I visited the museums and did some shopping. The antique shops in The Shambles are fantastic. Amy: Sounds great! Taken at the Flood

Later, Arden's body is discovered in his room with his head smashed in. Rowley Cloade appeals to a detective, Hercule Poirot, to prove the dead man was Robert Underhay, and Poirot produces Major Porter, who knew Underhay in Africa. At the inquest, despite Rosaleen's protests that the dead man was not Robert, Porter confirms that Arden was indeed her first husband. The estate will revert to the Cloades. Rosaleen has a strong alibi for the time of the murder since she was in the London flat that evening. David has only a weak alibi: down from London for the day, he met Lynn on his dash to catch the last train to London leaving at 9:20 pm, and evidently telephoned her from the London flat shortly after 11 pm. Since the murder is believed to have taken place shortly before 9 pm, he had enough opportunity and motive to be arrested. David's alibi improves when it is discovered that a heavily made-up woman in an orange headscarf left Arden's room after 10 p.m

Jane Austeni "Emma" ja "Persuasion"

populous village of Highbury, she begins to notice young Harriet Smith, the pretty illegitimate seventeen-year-old who lives at Mrs. Goddard's boarding school. Determining first to improve Harriet, Emma discourages her interest in worthy Robert Martin of Abbey-Mill Farm, declares that Harriet must be from more genteel parents than his, and fixes upon Harriet as Mr. Elton's future wife. In bringing the two together socially, Emma does a drawing of Harriet which Mr. Elton admires and takes off to London to be framed. This appears so promising to Emma that, when Harriet receives a letter of proposal from Robert Martin, Emma discredits him and actually helps Harriet write a letter of refusal in spite of the fact that Mr. Knightley has nothing but respect for Robert. Ensuing events convince Emma that Harriet and Mr. Elton are developing a mutual regard, and she takes pride in the apparent success of her endeavor, at the same time affirming that she herself will never marry.

William Blake

WILLIAM BLAKE 1757-1827 William blake Sündis: 28.november 1757, London. Suri: 12.august 1827, London.

“To Room Nineteen” “To room nineteen” is considered to be one of the best short stories by Doris Lessing. The book takes place in a mid-twentieth century in London suburb. It gives insight about women’s rights and London society on these days. Showes how the perfect lives as they seemed from outside, acctually weren’t that ideal on the inside. The book itself is about a middle-aged woman, Susan, whose life is spinning around her four children, ideal husband and lovely home. Everything seems to be just perfect. When the youngest child went off to school, the seeming peace in this family is soon gone. Susan didn’t find the sense of freedom that she expected. She started thinking about herself she lost in her
