Summary of Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, England, over the River Thames. It is close to the Tower of London, which gives it its name. It has become an iconic symbol of London. The bridge consists of two towers which are tied together at the upper level by means of two horizontal walkways which are designed to withstand the horizontal forces exerted by the suspended sections of the bridge on the landward sides of the towers. The vertical component of the forces in the suspended sections and the vertical reactions of the two walkways are carried by the two robust towers. The bascule pivots and operating machinery are housed in the base of each tower. The

Praegu on London suutnud üleujutused kontrolli all hoida.

Cleopatra's needle

Cleopatra's neelde Helina Sternhof X It was made in Egypt for the Pharaoh Thotmes III in 1460 BC, making it almost 3,500 years old. It is known as Cleopatra's Needle as it was brought to London from Alexandria, the royal city of Cleopatra. The London needle is in the City of Westminister, on the Victoria Embanknet near the Golden Jubilee Bridges. It is close to the Embankment underground station. It is also called the obelisk. Originally built as a pair for the Temple of the Sun at Heliopolis It was dug out of the sand in which it had been buried for nearly 2,000 years and was encased in a great iron cylinder, 92 feet (28 m) long and 16 feet (4.9 m) in diameter, designed by the engineer John Dixon.

Londoni Rahvusgalerii + Degas kahe teose retsensioon

The total area of the country is more than 130000 sq km. Most of England is lowland, but there are upland regions in the north, south and south west. The climate is temperate, subject to frequent changes, with plentiful rainfall all year round, although the seasons are quite variable in temperature, it rarely falls below -5 or rises above +30 degrees. The longest river, the Severn, flows for 354km. England's capital London, is the largest metropolitan area in the United Kingdom, drawing from a wide range of people, cultures and religions, speaking over 300 different languages, mixing their culture, traditions, music. It is the largest urban zone in the European Union, today one of the world's most important business, financial and cultural centres. The Great Fire kokkuvõte

The fire started in Pudding Lane. The fire started in a baker's shop owned by Thomas Farriner who was the king's baker. His maid failed to put out the ovens at the end of the night. Once it started, the fire spread quickly. The city was basically made out of wood and with September following on from the summer, the city was very dry. Strong winds fanned the flames. In 1665, during the plague, the king, Charles II, had fled in London. His plan, in 1666 (he stayed in London and took charge of the operation to save the city) was to create fire-breaks. The heat created by the fire was so great that the lead roof on the old St Paul's Cathedral melted. The actual human casualty rate was remarkably small with possibly only 5 people dying in this fire. The wind that had helped the fire spread, turned on itself and drove the flames back into what had already been burned. Therefore, the fire had nothing to ignite and the fire died out.

Keskaegne Londoni arhitektuur

Grete Mark 11b klass Tartu Mart Reininku Gümnaasium Londoni kaart Londoni algus Paljude arvates on parim hetk alustada keskaegse Londoni ajalugu jõululaupäevast 1066, kui William "Vallutaja" krooniti kuningaks vastvalminud Westminster Abbey's. Tower of London Loss käitus esmaülesandena kuninga residentsi ja valitsushoonena. Kuulsaks vanglaks sai see alles hiljem. ! Westminster Palace · 1097 William II alustas Westminster Hall-i ehitust, millest pidi saama uue Westminster Palace-i alus.

A. Vivaldi). Kuulsusejanu ja avarate loominguvõimaluste otsingud viisid Händeli 1711. a. Londoni. 1719 tehti Londonisse tegutsev Kuninglik teater.Esialgu töötas Händel Inglismaal õuekomponistina.Händel tõi lavale 1-2 ooperit aastas. LOOM...

Thames'i barjääri tulemusel on London mingil määral kaitstud tõusuvee eest, kuid kindlasti mitte täielikult. Mida aeg edasi, seda tihedamini ollakes sunnitud barjääri üles tõstma, kuna tõusuvesi on probleemiks tihedamini. Üks moment tekib hetk, kus barjäär ei suuda enam tõusuvett tagasi hoida ning väga suur katastroof ongi valmis.

Londoni Referaat

London is the capital of both England and the United Kingdom, and the largest metropolitan area in the European Union. An important settlement for two millennia, London's history goes back to its founding by the Romans. Since its foundation, London has been part of many movements and phenomena throughout history, including the English Renaissance, the Industrial Revolution, and the Gothic Revival. The city's core, the ancient City of London, still retains its limited medieval boundaries; but since at least the 19th century, the name "London" has also referred to the whole metropolis that has developed around it. Today the bulk of this conurbation forms the London region of England and the Greater London administrative area, with its own elected mayor and assembly. London is one of the world's most important business, financial and cultural centres and its influence in politics, education, entertainment,

It was so fun. I wished that you could be there. In London we went sightseeing. I saw the The houses of Parliament and Big Ben. From there across the river Thames we saw a giant Ferris wheel London eye. London eye is 135 metres tall. It is the tallest ferris Wheel in Europe. We also saw the Bukcingham palace. The royal family lives there. We visited a lot of parks. The first park we visited was Hyde park. It is one of the kargest parks in west London. It is famous for its Speakers Corner. J. Londoni esitluse tekst

Esitluse tekst Jack London sünninimega John Griffith Chaney oli Ameerika kirjanik, ajakirjanik ja sotsiaalaktivist. Sündis 12. Jaanuaril 1876. aastal San Fransiscos. Jack London suri 22. novemberil, 1916. aastal enda rantsos. Ta suri lugematute haiguste käes kannatava alkoholisõltlasena morfiini üledoosi kätte. Suure tõenäosusega sooritas ta enesetapu. 1885. aastal luges London Quida romaani ,,Signa", sellest sai alguse tema huvi kirjanduse vastu. Perekonna vaesuse tõttu sai väga lünkliku hariduse, mida püüdis hiljem igati täiendada, jõudes isegi ülikooli. 1894. aastal asus õppima Oaklandi keskkooli. Seal avaldas ta mitu artiklit kooli ajalehes. 1896

Jack Londoni elulugu
