Mixing together diferent substances probably shorten their life span by decades. They spent their lives to find it but I don't think that they managed it. Why i would like to have a philosopher's stone? Think about a person who can make gold. I could rule the world simply by being able to produce massive amounts of money out of iron or copper. I could be the richest person on earth and do what i want. It's a nice dream but thinking about it more deeply and after a really short research, I do not believe that a thing like Philosopher's stone exists.

Rowling was on a train in England when she suddenly had an idea for a story she could write. She had enjoyed writing ever since she was a young girl, but there was something about the main character in this story that seemed especially exciting. He was a thin, black-haired boy who wore glasses. He was also a wizard, but didn't yet know about his magical powers. His name was Harry Potter. Harry has since made Rowling (whose pen name is J.K. Rowling) the richest author in the world. Her six books about his adventures have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide and exist in more than 50 different languages. Most of the readers are children or young teenagers, but the books are unusual in the way that they also appeal to adults. Each of the six books covers about a year in Harry's life as he grows from a boy into a teenager. At the start of the first book we learn that he is an orphan who lives with his horrible aunt and uncle, the Dursleys.

Indeed, more than 60,000 volunteers from the Republic fought in the British armed forces [3]. In 1949, the state declared itself to be a republic and that henceforth it should be described as the Republic of Ireland. The state was plagued by poverty and emigration until the mid-1970s. The 1990s saw the beginning of unprecedented economic success, in a phenomenon known as the "Celtic Tiger". By the early 2000s, it had become one of the richest countries (in terms of GDP per capita) in the European Union, moving from being a net recipient of the budget to becoming a net contributor during the next Budget round (2007-13), and from a country of net emigration to one of net immigration. In October 2006, there were talks between Ireland and the U.S. to negotiate a new immigration policy between the two countries, in response to the growth of the Irish economy and desire of many U.S. citizens who sought to move to Ireland for work.

The difference is that we have a greater goal than just helping each other to freeride. We want free public transportation, owned by us together and controlled by the workers in it. Everyone will benefit from free transports In Stockholm, all those who make less then 40 000 kronor per month (about 4500 euros) would benefit by letting a small tax raise finance the public transportation. Free public transportation is a way of taking from the richest and giving to the rest of us. It is about time for that kind of redistribution in our segregated cities. And think about the socioeconomic gains that could be achieved by getting rid of all the ticket lines, tickets and control systems. Lots of money goes to these systems which leads to nothing but a bad mood in our common spaces. The type of meadow richest in species is the wooded meadow. A few anti-architectural hints rapidly evolved into full-blown Rococo at the end of the 1720s and began to affect interiors and decorative arts throughout Europe. The richest forms of German Rococo are in Catholic Germany (illustration, above). Rococo plasterwork by immigrant Italian-Swiss artists like Bagutti and Artari is a feature of houses by James Gibbs, and the Franchini brothers working in Ireland equalled anything that was attempted in Great Britain. Inaugurated in some rooms in Versailles, it unfolds its magnificence in several Parisian buildings (especially the Hôtel Soubise). In Germany, French and German artists (Cuvilliés, Neumann, Knobelsdorff, etc

Most of the greatest movies are filmed there, Americans are good in almost every sports and USA is one of the richest countries in the whole world. I would like to get to know more about this country and about it's people. not rise at all for 51 days during winter.(www.wikipedia.org) 3 Flora and fauna All terrestrial life in Finland was completely wiped out during the last ice age that ended some 10,000 years ago, following the retreat of the glaciers and the appearance of vegetation. Today, there are over 1,200 species of vascular plant, 800 bryophytes and 1,000 lichen species in Finland, with flora being richest in the southern parts of the country. Plant life, like most of the Finnish ecology, is well adapted to tolerate the contrasting seasons and extreme weather. Many plant species, such as the Scots Pine, spruce, birch spread throughout Finland from Norway and only reached the western coast less than three millennia ago. Oak and maple grows in nature only in the southern part of Finland. The Archipelago Sea, between the Gulf of Bothnia and the Gulf of Finland, is the largest

Today Scotland is also a major producer of computers. The leading manufacturing regions are Greater London, Greater Manchester, West Midlands (Birmingham), Yorkshire, Newcastle, Glasgow, Bristol. Britain has relatively few mineral resources. Zinc, tin, iron ore and copper are all produced in small quantities, together with tiny amounts of gold and silver. Non- metallic minerals include limestone, chalk, clay, sandstone, salt and gypsum. Britain has the richest energy resources in EU including oil and natural gas, both primarily found in the North Sea, off eastern Scotland and eastern England respectively. About 77% of the land area of Britain is under agricultural use of some sort. Agriculture employs 2 per cent of the population. However, it achieves high levels of efficiency and productivity. Large parts of Britain, notably in Scotland and Wales, are suitable only for grazing

Some endangered species, such as the brown bear, lynx and wolf, are represented in small numbers. Estonia is believed to have 40,000 living species, but only about 23,500 have so far been discovered. Compared to more northern areas, Estonia has one of the richest diversities of flora and fauna. Estonia's meadows are very rich in different species and the colours of them are absolutely fantastic. 8. Population Estonia is one of the most sparsely populated countries in Europe with 29 people per one square mile. The estimated population in 2007 was 1.3 million. From approximately the first to fifth centuries AD, resident farming was established and the population grew. A more troubled and war-ridden middle Iron Age

and new methods of farming meant that England could produce enough food to feed herself and export some as well. However, the working conditions were brutal and unhealthy, safety was disregarded and there was a lot of environmental pollution. Travelling and communications were improved. Many canals and railways were built; telegraph lines, magazines and newspaper provided people with steady flow of information. The population of Britain rose from 8 million to 14 million. The largest and richest city in Europe was London, with a population of around a million. It was also an important financial centre. For about 200 years Britain had been a leading country in the world's slave trade, but this finally came to an end in 1807, largely thanks to the politician William Wilberforce, who won his fight in Britain and then devoted the rest of his life to ban the slave trade throughout the world. Between 1810 and 1820 the Highland Clearances took place in Scotland. Local

António de Oliveira Salazar in 1933. Portugal was one of only five European countries to remain neutral in World War II. From the 1940s to the 1960s, Portugal was a founding member of NATO, OECD and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). Gradually, new economic development projects and relocation of mainland Portuguese citizens into the overseas provinces in Africa were initiated, with Angola and Mozambique, as the largest and richest overseas territories, being the main targets of those initiatives. These actions were used to affirm Portugal's status as a pluricontinental nation and not as a colonial empire. After India attained independence in 1947, pro-Indian residents of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, with the support of the Indian government and the help of pro-independence organisations, invaded the territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli from Portuguese rule in 1954. In 1961,

For the jobless there were poorhouses and debtors ' prisons the dark side of Dickens' novels. Between the 1770 and 1821, the population of Britain rose from 8.3 million to 14.2 million. London was the largest and richest city in Europe. In 1811 it was the first city in the world to reach a population of a million. It was also an important financial centre: merchants could borrow money from its banks, take out insurance, buy and sell shares. The 19th century was generally a time of great social reform: the slave trade was abolished, the employment of women and children was regulated by laws, primary schools were established, and men

One myth is that you have to have a great education to become rich. Another myth is that you have to start off with a lot of money. Some people are convinced that financial success depends on get- ting a lucky break of some kind, like picking a hot stock in the stock market. None of these myths are true. In fact, a survey of members of the Forbes 400, the 400 richest men and women in the United States, found that high school dropouts in the group who made it to the list were worth, on average, $300 million more than university graduates on the list. ccc_tracy_4_52-76.qxd 6/23/03 2:47 PM Page 58 58 ➤ CHANGE YOUR THINKING, CHANGE YOUR LIFE ■ THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY The most successful immigrant group per capita in the United

A shadow economy swelled and compensated for an unknown share of the economic collapse. 2001-2008 Between 2001 and 2008, the Ukrainian economy picked up significantly. Many of Ukraine's large-scale capitalists--the oligarchs--are former Soviet-era industrial managers who succeeded on a grand scale when industries were privatized. Their wealth was originally based on a traditional, simple formula: convert cheap energy and raw materials into metals and manufactured goods. The six richest Ukrainians are all metallurgy magnates. In Ukraine--like in Russia--incumbent managers (there is a special term in Russian for such executives/ owners Red Director) were present at the birth of private property and could harness privatization. The political atmosphere of nation building helped keep foreigners-- Russians and Westerners alike--mostly out of the game. The major exception was the financial system; several banks both from the West and the East have entered Ukrainian markets.

did. They left "an indelible mark on my spirit, and remain for me one of the brightest and most outstanding memories of my existence." The First World War marks the great turning point in the history of cryptology. Before, it was a small field; afterwards, it was big. Before, it was a science in its youth; afterwards, it had matured. The direct cause of this development was the vast increase in radio communications. This heavy traffic meant that probably the richest source of intelligence flowed in these easily accessible channels. All that was necessary was to crack the protective sheath. As cryptanalysis repeatedly demonstrated its abilities and worth, it rose from an auxiliary to a primary source of information about the foe; its advocates spoke regularly in the councils of war. The emergence of cryptanalysis as a permanent major element of intelligence was the most striking characteristic of cryptology's new maturity.

The 4-Hour Body - An Uncommon Guide to Rapid Fat-Loss, Incredible Sex, and Becoming Superhuman - Timothy Ferriss

The data didn't lie. But isn't weight loss or gain as simple as calories in and calories out? It's attractive in its simplicity, yes, but so is cold fusion. It doesn't work quite as advertised. German poet Johann Wolfgang Goethe had the right perspective: "Mysteries are not necessarily miracles." To do the impossible (sail around the world, break the four-minute mile, reach the moon), you need to ignore the popular. Charles Munger, right-hand adviser to Warren Bu ett, the richest man on the planet, is known for his unparalleled clear thinking and near-failure-proof track record. How did he re ne his thinking to help build a $3 trillion business in Berkshire Hathaway? The answer is "mental models," or analytical rules-of-thumb4 pulled from disciplines outside of investing, ranging from physics to evolutionary biology. Eighty to 90 models have helped Charles Munger develop, in Warren Bu ett's words, "the best 30-second mind in the world
