It is clear that it is not too dangerous. There are many cities where cycling is very popular, for example in Copenhagen. If this method will be chosen, city needs to build special cycling roads. Thanks to these roads traffic should be safer. More energy is used up taking items to recycling banks than the benefits gained from recycling materials. It could be argued that there is more energy used up. There is made lot of campaigns, spend lot of money and so on. But quite big proportion of people does not care about it and think it is only wasting their time. Also they think that even they attend in this campaign, it change nothing. This is partly true, but most of people have started already. Thanks to recycling banks homeless people will get better clothes, also food and everything what they need. Also environment is not polluting so much of any things. It is clear that it has taken lot of resources. I must change people ways of thinking.

Smoking should be banned in public places

you enjoy your lunch. In my opinion, this is good idea for building smoking rooms, then we do not discriminate smokers who have tobacco addicts. On the other hand, there are many disadvantages of banning smoking in public places. Many people like smoke cigar, when they are drinking whisky, so they can not continue the tradition. Although some bars deny smoking inside and client have to do it outside. In conclusion, I would say that a large proportion of people are smokers and we have to consider with them. I just wish that they will quit smoking because this is very bad for their healths and it can cause cancer.

Report

Date: 3th November Introduction As requested, I carried out a survey among my schoolmates about their reading interests. My findings are presented below. Girls' reading interests The majority of the girls said that they like to read romantic novels. 28% said that they prefer historical novels and 21% said that they like to read thrillers. A minority said they like to read poetry. Boys' reading interests By far the largest number of boys said that they prefer to read thrillers. A large proportion said that they like to read historical novels. A small number said that they like to read romantic novels and poetry. Conclusion The majority of the girls like to read romantic novels and the majority of the boys like to read thrillers. I therefore suggest that romantic novels and thrillers should be bought. You may also wish to buy some historical novels, since 28% of the girls and 29% of the boys prefer to read historical novels.

Level of education

The aim of the report is to analyze the level of education of men and women in Estonia at the turn of the century. A secondary education is by far the most popular level of education. This shows that it is a centric way to cover ground in life. A significant number of men have basic education. This implies that most men prefer not to pursue education. In case of women, they want to get a better education. This is demonstrated by the fact that only 18 % of women have basic education. A large proportion of women have chosen secondary vocational. This indicates that is chosen an occupation, which suggest a fixed income. A higher level of education is not certainly necessary. This is illustrated by the fact that about 6 % of people have elementary education. A small number of men and women have no schooling. This suggests that some people do not have opportunity to get an education. A substantial number of people have a university degree. This implies that education is valued

A letter and an essay

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing in the hope that you can help me with a problem regarding a camera that I have bought recently. On 24 April, I purchased a Canon digital SLR camera from a duty-free shop at Freetown Airport on my way from Freetown to Wondercity. The camera cost $599, and I paid for it by credit card. When I arrived at my hotel in Wondercity almost 24 hours later, I discovered that the box which contained the camera did not include the battery, and the space in the box for the charger was empty. I am now in Wondercity, and I am not returning to Freetown, so I need to get the missing parts here. I would be grateful if you could arrange for the parts to be sent to me. I attach a copy of the receipt for your information. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, Introduction This report looks at the dietary habits of twenty students in their final year at Freedonian Secondary School. The report is bas...

importance. Even if an individual is extremely rich, this does not necessarily lead to happiness. In some cases, the contrary is true and vast wealth brings with it a whole range of problems and insecurities. To sum it all up, although there are those who would rank money as the single most important thing in life, most people would disagree. Money, has an important part to play but perhaps the world would be a more harmonious place to live in if capital was kept in proportion and society dealt with moral issues. genome. We propose a method for rational analysis of heterogeneity of multicopy genes by compiling a profile based on quantification of different sequence variants of the internal transcribed spacers of the freshwater sponge Ephydatia fluviatilis as an example. In addition to using conventional substitution analysis, we have developed a mathematical method, the proportion model method, to quantify the relative amounts of allelic variants of different length using data from direct sequencing of the heterogeneous amplicon. This method is based on determining the expected signal intensity values (corresponding to peak heights from the sequencing electropherogram) by sequencing clones from the same or highly similar amplicon and comparing hypothesized combinations against the values obtained by direct sequencing of the heterogeneous amplicon

Michelangelo

The theme is of Northern origin, popular in France but not yet in Italy. It is an important work as it balances the Renaissance ideals of classical beauty with naturalism. The statue is one of the most highly finished works by Michelangelo The structure is pyramidal, and the vertex coincides with Mary's head. The statue widens progressively down the drapery of the Virgin's dress, to the base, the rock of Golgotha. The figures are quite out of proportion, owing to the difficulty of depicting a fully-grown man cradled full-length in a woman's lap. Much of the Virgin's body is concealed by her monumental drapery, and the relationship of the figures appears quite natural. The Pietà's first home was the Chapel of Santa Petronilla. The chapel was later demolished by Bramante during his rebuilding of the basilica. During the time, Pieta got lot of damages. But it had renovated and returned to the St. Peter's Chapel.

It has been said that the apple story is a myth. Theory of gravity · Newton came up with the theory that the centre of the earth was pulling the object down Newton's tree, Botanic Gardens, Cambridge. Cost Accounting notes

Cost assignment is a general term that encompasses both tracing direct costs and allocating indirect costs. Factors affecting direct/indirect cost classification: Materiality of the cost in question - the smaller the amount of cost, the more immaterial the cost is, the less likely that it is economically feasible to trace the cost to a particular cost object. Available information-gathering technology. Design of operations. Variable cost changes in total in proportion to changes in the related level of total activity or volume. Fixed cost remains unchanged in total for a given time period, despite wide changes in the related level of total activity or volume. Cost driver is a variable, such as the level of activity or volume, that causally affects costs over a given time span. Relevant range is the band of normal activity level or volume in which there is a specific relationship between the level of activity or volume and the cost. Cost of goods sold:

television. A newspaper provides many kinds of communications. Some articles, such as news stories and recipes, furnish information. Others are usually meant just for fun. Newspapers cover more stories than do any any of the other news media. Many millions of people watch television for amusement during their free time. But television provides viewers with more than just entertainment. Most people get a large proportion of their news from TV news broadcasts. So television is the chief source of news for many households around the world. TV does what none of the other media can: it brings the sights and sounds of some importnant news events by means of filmed, taped, or live reports. In addition to daily news reports, television covers special news events. Coverage of such an event may replace many hours of regular TV shows. Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin, Jr

Exercise Physiology - lecture 1

· Lecture 1 recall task 1) Identify the route that air takes from the atmosphere to the blood (e.g., air enters through the mouth and then...). 2) Explain the mechanism of how air is drawn into the body with reference to Boyle's law and diffusion. 3) With reference to Dalton's law explain why training at altitude can be problematic for athletes. Henry's Law · When a mixture of gases is in contact with a liquid, each gas will dissolve in the liquid in proportion to its partial pressure. · Greater concentration of gas, the more and faster that gas will go into solution in the liquid. · How much gas dissolves in liquid depends on: solubility of the gas in the liquid temperature of the liquid. Did You Know...? The solubility of a gas in blood and the temperature of blood are relatively constant. Differences in the partial pressures of gases in the aveoli and in the blood create a pressure gradient across the

Tšernobõl, Chernobyl

It was a direct consequence of Cold War isolation and the resulting lack of any safety culture. The accident destroyed the Chernobyl 4 reactor, killing 30 operators and firemen within three months and several further deaths later. Acute radiation syndrome was originally diagnosed in 237 people on-site and involved with the clean-up. Of these, 28 people died as a result of it within a few weeks of the accident. Nobody off-site suffered from acute radiation effects although a large proportion of childhood thyroid cancers diagnosed since the accident is likely to be due to intake of radioactive iodine fallout. Furthermore, large areas of Belarus, Ukraine, Russia and beyond were affected. The Chernobyl site and plant The Chernobyl Power Complex in Ukraine consisted of four nuclear reactors. Two reactors were under construction at the time of the accident. An artificial lake was constructed to provide cooling water for the reactors. The 1986 Chernobyl accident

Sumatran tigers less than 3 years. In total, 50 million tons of palm oil is produced annually, supplying over 30% of the world’s vegetable oil production. This single vegetable oil is found in approximately 40-50% of household products in countries such as United States, Canada, Australia and England. Palm oil can be present in a wide variety of products, including: baked goods, confectionery, shampoo, cosmetics, cleaning agents, washing detergents and toothpaste. A large proportion of palm oil expansion occurs at the expense of biodiversity and ecosystems in the countries it is produced. Currently, a third of all mammal species in Indonesia are considered to be critically endangered as a consequence of this unsustainable development that is rapidly encroaching on their habitat. There are over 300,000 different animals found throughout the jungles of Borneo and Sumatra, many of which are injured, killed and displaced during deforestation. In addition,

Goverment, otherwise it will represent no real advance towards the astablishment of a socialist democracy. 2. It must not provoke the opponents of Socialism to appeal to force or frighten them into an uncontrollable financial panic. In either case there would be a breakdown in the normal processes of peaceful goverment. 3. On the other hand it is equally essential that the programme of the Labour Party should retain the loyality of a very large proportion of its followers. A strong and united party organisation is essential for the execution of a complex programme. The importance of planning The term is used in current speech to describe widely different types of economic reforms. Estonia

It is a highly important holiday in Estonia. At first it was merely a decision on paper. True independence was fought for in the following years, in the War of Liberation. Independence lasted until 1939 when a pact between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union was signed. Following the Soviet occupation in 1940, Estonia was occupied by Nazi Germany from 1942 to 1944. The Soviet Union incorporated Estonia in the autumn of 1944. A large proportion of the population fled abroad. Many others were arrested and deported to Siberia. Estonia regained independence by the way of the Singing Revolution of 1988 and has been fully independent since 1991. In 2004, Estonia became a NATO member state and an EU state. The legislative power in Estonia belongs to the Parliament (Riigikogu), which is elected for four years by the citizens of Estonia and consists of 101 members. Parliament regulates taxation and adopts the State budget.

Canada

In the summer months, the sun stays up for the whole day, never setting. The permanent frozen layer of earth there makes construction a real challenge. Perhaps Canada's most famous animal is the moose. They, along with grizzly bears, are the most well-known of its many mammals. Gray wolves are also very popular in Canadian large wild spaces. There are plenty others, though. The wolverine is a large member of the weasels' family. It has a reputation for ferocity and strength out of proportion with its size, with the documented ability to kill pray many times larger than itself. Some of Canada's best known birds are the Canada goose and the snowy owl. It is believed that the first people the native people came to the country from Siberia by crossing a land bridge during the last Ice Age, at least 10,000 years before the Europeans arrived. The natives lived in harmony with nature and took only what they needed to survive. The first Europeans arriving there changed that, however

carnivores. There are also insects, arachnids, reptiles, and birds. Some examples of these animals are Borrowers, Mourning Wheatears, and Horned Vipers. Agriculture It has long been recognized that the importance of agriculture to the Kingdom extends beyond that of its contribution to national output alone. At the end of the Third Plan period almost half of the Kingdom's population was living in rural areas and a significant proportion of total Saudi employment was in agriculture. Apart from the strategic significance of increasing domestic food production for a growing population, the planned development of agriculture fulfills other important roles. It generates employment both within the sector and in closely related agro-industries. It contributes to the diversification of the economic base and to import substitution, while raising income levels and improving rural living

Age breakdown In common with most countries in Western Europe, Britain has an ageing population. Under 15 years of age 18% 15-64 years of age 66.3% 65 years of age and over 15.7% The proportion of population of pensionable age is increasing. People are living longer. Their life expectancy at birth is over 70 years in the developed world (improvement in health care, medicines and people's diets). The ethnic minority population has a younger age structure than the white population. Why British not English? Ireland report

It is Ireland's high standard of living, high wage economy and EU membership that attract many migrants from the newest of the European Union countries: Ireland has had a significant number of Romanian immigrants since the 1990s. In recent years, mainland Chinese have been migrating to Ireland in significant numbers. Nigerians, along with people from other African countries have accounted for a large proportion of the non-European Union migrants to Ireland. After Dublin (1,661,185 in Greater Dublin), Ireland's largest cities are Belfast (579,276 in Greater Belfast), Cork (380,000 in Greater Cork),Limerick (93,321 incl. suburbs), Derry (90,736 in Derry Urban Area), Galway (71,983 in city proper) and Waterford (45,775 in city proper). completely uniform. So we have to determine where cosmic rays come from by indirect means. One of the indirect observations we can make is the "composition" of GCRs. This can tell us a lot about the GCR sources and the cosmic rays' trip through the Galaxy. The "composition" of cosmic rays describes what fraction of cosmic rays are protons, what fraction are helium nuclei, etc. All of the natural elementsin the periodic table are present in cosmic rays, in roughly the same proportion as they occur in the solar system. But detailed differences provide a "fingerprint" of the cosmic ray's source. Measuring the quantity of each different element is relatively easy, since the different charges of each nucleus give very different signatures. Harder to measure, but a better fingerprint, is the isotopic composition (nuclei of the same element but with different numbers of neutrons). To

Sustainability aspects of biofuels

2008). Biodiesel is based on the oil crops, such as rapeseed in Europe and soybean in the USA and Brazil. In tropical regions, biodiesel feedstock can also be sourced from palm, coconut and jatropha oils, but these are currently not major feedstock for biodiesel. Biodiesel is produced by combining vegetable oil with an alcohol and a catalyst through a chemical process known as transesterification (FAO, 2008). Margit Tepner k0848752 Figure 1. Proportion of global production of liquid biofuels (FO Licht, 2007). Biofuels production is concentrated in three countries: Brazil, the USA, and Europe On a global scale, there are three regions that produce biofuels: mainly France and Germany in Europe, the USA, and Brazil. Each region specialises on a specific crop, and the production technologies vary greatly. Biodiesel is concentrated in Europe and in 2005 France and Germany supplied 69% of the global biodiesel
