Book Analog Interfacing to Embedded Microprocessors

I hope it proves useful. ix Introduction Modern electronic systems are increasingly digital: digital microprocessors, digital logic, digital interfaces. Digital logic is easier to design and understand, and it is much more flexible than the equivalent analog circuitry would be. As an example, imagine trying to implement any kind of sophisticated micro- processor with analog parts. Digital electronics lets the PC on your desk execute different programs at different times, perform complex calculations, and communicate via the World Wide Web. While the electronic world is nearly all digital, the real world is not. The temperature in your office is not just hot or cold, but varies over a wide range. You can use a thermometer to determine what the temperature is, but how do you convert the temperature to a digital value for use in a microprocessor- controlled thermostat

An Anode has positive potential and therefore collects electrons in the device. Cathode has negative potential and therefore emits electrons to anode. The symbol looks like an arrow that ponts from the anode to the cathode, and reminds that conventional current flows easily from the p side(anode) to the n side(cathode). BIASING. Forward biasing. If the current in a diode is too large, excessive heat will destroy the device. Even approaching the burnout current value without reaching it can shorten its life. Therefore manufacturer's data sheet specifies the maximum forward current, that diode can withstand. This average current IF is the rate a diode can handle up to the forward direction when used as a rectifier. Another entry of interest in the data sheet is the forward voltade drop UF(max) when the maximum forward current occurs. An usual diode has this value 0.7-2.0V. Diode conducts easily when forward biased. Reverse biasing

Wave-energy

Introduction to wave energy There are several possibilities to harvest different forms of energy from the sea. One of these options is the usage of waves for the generation of electricity. The devices needed to perform this task are called wave energy converters. Wave energy is indirect solar energy in twice. At first there is the wind, which is caused by variations in atmospheric pressure due to a differential solar heating of earth's surface by the sun. Different regions of pressure drives a force which rises a movement of atmospheric air masses that causes the earths wind system. If wind strikes over the surface of an open water, waves are induced. First they are very flat with only a low level of energy. When there is a long distance over the water on which wind can attack the small ones, they became bigger and bigger with a lot of energy inside them. Physics of wave energy To have a better understanding of the technical possibilities to harvest the energy

How to write a Design Report

Even if the reader is an expert, he or she will appreciate a comprehensive review of the field. The review has two parts. The first part is a more detailed background to the field. For example, if you are developing a medical device, the background would be a tutorial on the medical condition being treated by the device. The second part describes the prior art relevant to the problem, which means all of the existing technology and methods relevant to the problem, including the ways the problem is dealt with now. The review can include commercial products, academic journal articles and theses, and patents. The technical review will likely have many citations to the source of the information with citations listed in the Reference section. Citations and references should follow ASME, IEEE or APA style.

Mageveekäsna Ephydatia fluviatilis populatsiooni geneetiline analüüs

Intragenomic Profiling Using Multicopy Genes: The rDNA Internal Transcribed Spacer Sequences of the Freshwater Sponge Ephydatia fluviatilis Liisi Karlep, To~nu Reintamm, Merike Kelve* Department of Gene Technology, Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn, Estonia Abstract Multicopy genes, like ribosomal RNA genes (rDNA), are widely used to describe and distinguish individuals. Despite concerted evolution that homogenizes a large number of rDNA gene copies, the presence of different gene variants within a genome has been reported. Characterization of an organism by defining every single variant of tens to thousands of rDNA repeat units present in a eukaryotic genome would be quite unreasonable

research question, we have a specification error. In other words, the construct implied in the survey question differs from the intended construct that should be measured. This is also referred to as a measurement that has low construct validity. As a result, the wrong parameter is estimated and the research objective is not met. A clear example of a specification error is given by Biemer and Lyberg (2003, p. 39). The intended concept to be measured was “…the value of a parcel of land if it were sold on a fair market today.” A potential operationalization in a survey question would be “For what price would you sell this parcel of land?” Closer inspection of this question reveals that this question asks what the parcel of land is subjectively worth to the farmer. Perhaps it is worth so much to the farmer that she/he would never sell it at all. There are several ways in which one can investigate whether specification errors occur. First of all,

All about High Tech

All about High Tech High tech is technology that is at the cutting edge--the most advanced technology currently available. There is no specific class of technology that is high tech--the definition shifts over time--so products hyped as high tech in the 1960s would now be considered, if not exactly low tech, then at least somewhat obsolete. This fuzzy definition has led to marketing departments describing nearly all new products as high tech. Economy Because the high-tech sector of the economy develops or uses the most advanced technology known, it is often seen as having the most potential for future growth. This perception has led to

Automaatika referaat (eng)

..................8-9 Conclusion.........................................................................................................................10 2 Introduction This chapter documents the advent and rise of automated essay scoring (AES) as a means of both assessment and instruction. The first section discusses what AES is, how it works, and who the major purveyors of the technology are. The second section describes outgrowths of the technology as it applies to on-going projects in measurement and education. In 1973, the late Ellis Page and colleagues at the University of Connecticut programmed the first successful automated essay scoring engine, "Project Essay Grade (PEG)" (1973). The technology was foretold some six years earlier in a landmark Phi Delta Kappan article entitled, "The Imminence of Grading Essays by Computer" (Page, 1966)

Railgun

...........................................15 Conclusion.....................................................................................................................................16 Used materials:...............................................................................................................................17 2 Introduction With the advancement of technology ideas that used to be futuristic are nowadays already being researched with impressive headway made. One such research project is the railgun. I picked this topic because railguns are a childhood dream of every kid who watched sci- fi movies or something related to space. I wanted to learn more about how they're supposed to work and it is important because the research has done great leaps since 2009. Metaphorically it
