· There are inward duties, with The Queen playing a part in State functions in Britain. Parliament must be opened, Orders in Council have to be approved, Acts of Parliament must be signed, and meetings with the Prime Minister must be held. · There are also outward duties of State, when The Queen represents Britain to the rest of the world. For example, the Queen makes State visits overseas to other countries, in support of diplomatic and economic relations. · As 'Head of Nation', The Queen's role is less formal, but no less important for the social and cultural functions it fulfils. · These include: providing a focus for national identity, unity and pride; giving a sense of stability and continuity; recognising success, achievement and excellence; and supporting service to others, particularly through public service and the voluntary sector. 4)ROYAL FAMILY
Soviet forces reconquered Estonia in the autumn of 1944 after fierce battles in the northeast of the country on the Narva river and on the Tannenberg Line. Tens of thousands of people chose to eighter retreat together with the Germans or flee to Finland or Sweden, becoming war refugees and later, expatriates. The United States, United Kingdom and the majority of other western democracies considered the annexation of Estonia by USSR illegal. They retained diplomatic relations with the representatives of the independent Respublic of Estonia, never recognized Estonia as a legal constituent part of Soviet Union. Estonia's return to independence became possible as the Soviet Union ran into economic dufficulties as a consequence of the Cold War and began to disintegrate. As te situation evolved, a movement for more Estonian selfgovernance started. In 1989, during the ,,Singing Revolution", a human chain of more than 2 million

Diplomat Diplomat's job isn't that easy. You have to be well educated. Knowledge in languages have to be high and you have to speak the language very well if not fluently. Everytime you change country, it is required to know basic things about it, like language, history, differences and so many other important things. In Estonia you can learn how to be a diplomat in Diplomatic School. It is very difficult to get in because every year they accept only around 30 students. You have to be flexible in your working hours because probably with the job you have to attend a lot of meetings or gatherings in the evenings. Conditions might be different depending on the country you are staying, like in America you'll probably have very good living environment, but if you have to compare it wiht Ukraine or Belarus then there are differences
First of all I am going to write about the common history between those countries. Because they do not share long history, I'm going to characterize every decade from 1980. Many people think that the U.S and Iraq have been enemies forever, but it is not so. The United States has supported Iraq in war and I am going to find out why and how. At some stage their relations got really bad and it led to the invasion of Iraq by the U.S. During the writing I am also going to find out how are the diplomatic relations between them nowadays. History Pre-1980s In 1963, the United States backed a coup against the government of Iraq headed by General Abdul Karim Qassim, who five years earlier had deposed the Western-allied Iraqi monarchy. The US was concerned about the growing influence of Communist Iraqi government officials under his administration, as well as his threats to invade Kuwait, which almost caused a war between Iraq and England
5 from England contributed largely to the outcome of the war between Estonia and Soviet Union. After the war the military cooperation developed into cultural and economic relations. For instance during the time between the wars, approximately 30% of Estonia's exports went to the UK. The other big English speaking country, United States recognised the Republic of Estonia on 28 July 1922. The first Estonian diplomatic mission in the United States was opened in the same year. The Second World War and the occupation of Estonia resulted in loss of contacts. Most English speaking countries never recognized Estonia's annexation in 1940. During the years of Soviet occupation the embassy in the United States continued its activities from 1940 to 1991. The US government recognised Estonia's diplomatic mission as the legal representative of the Republic of Estonia. This recognition of the
15.Find some information about Geoffrey Chaucer - his life and times. Chaucer was the first great poet writer in English, whose best-known work is 'The Canterbury Tales'. Geoffrey Chaucer was born between 1340 and 1345, probably in London. His father was a prosperous wine merchant. We do not know any details of his early life and education. Chaucer was captured by the French during the Brittany expedition of 1359, but was ransomed by the king. Edward III later sent him on diplomatic missions to France, Genoa and Florence. His travels exposed him to the work of authors such as Dante, Boccaccio and Froissart. 16.Cantebury Tales - what is it about? Canterbury Tales is a collection of 24 stories The tales (mostly written in verse, although some are in prose) are presented as part of a story-telling contest by a group of pilgrims as they travel together on a journey from London to Canterbury in order to visit the shrine of Saint Thomas Becket at Canterbury Cathedral
3. The Sovereign acts as a focus for national identity, unity and pride; gives a sense of stability and continuity; officially recognises success and excellence; and supports the ideal of voluntary service. In all these roles The Sovereign is supported by members of their immediate family. It can be hard to tell what the royal family's official duties are. Generally, every royal supports charities, appears at events, and occasionally travels the globe to strengthen diplomatic relationships. But some royals also have day jobs, and others have long military careers. As a team, the royal family has about 2,000 engagements, entertains 70,000 guests, and answers 100,000 letters every year. Today the Royal family is of a huge influence on the modern british society. Its Instagram account is followed by 3.5m people, lives of its members have become a kind of tv-show, where the world spies over their every step and the pressure is being
recommend, in the rear of this book, some other works and membership in the American Cryptogram Association. In my writing, I have tried to adhere to two principles. One was to use primary sources as much as possible. Often it could not be done any other way, since nothing had been published on a particular matter. The other principle was to try to make certain that I did not give cryptology sole and total credit for winning a battle or making possible a diplomatic coup or whatever happened if, as was usual, other factors played a role. Narratives which make it appear as if every event in history turned upon the subject under discussion are not history but journalism. They are especially prevalent in spy stories, and cryptology is not immune. The only other book-length attempt to survey the history of cryptology, the late Fletcher Pratt's Secret and Urgent, published in 1939, suffers from a severe case of this special pleading. Pratt writes

forces a character into a bizarre situation that seems impossible to recover from, only to resolve itself in a clever and satisfying finale. The layers pile up thickly in the longer works, with a character getting into multiple dangerous situations by mid- story. An outstanding example of this is Code of the Woosters where most of the chapters have an essential plot point reversed in the last sentence, catapulting the characters forward into greater diplomatic disasters. Stories 6 short stories: each takes place in Blandings Castle and Lord Emsworth is the protagonist in most of those. He's an old man who lives by the old nobility manners. He has his own view on everything. Also, he is a bit absentminded and that irritates mostly everyone he speaks to. His son, Freddie, also appears a lot in the text. Freddie is a go-getter and is not afraid of almost anything barring old Lord Emsworth himself.
to the South of France until its collapse in 750, a year in which the west of the empire gained its independence under Abd-ar-Rahman I with the creation of the Emirate of Córdoba. After almost two centuries, the Emirate turned into the Caliphate of Córdoba in 929 until its dissolution a century later in 1031 to no less than 23 small kingdoms, called Taifa kingdoms. The governors of the taifas proclaimed themselves each Emir of his province and established diplomatic relations with the Christian Kingdoms of the north. Most of Portugal fell into the hands of the Taifa of Badajoz of the Aftasid Dynasty, and after a short spell of an ephemera taifa of Lisbon in 1022, fell within the dominion of the Taifa of Seville of the Abbadids poets. The Taifa period ended with the conquest of the Almoravids that came from Morocco in 1086 with a decisive victory in the Battle of Sagrajas followed one century later by the Almohads

fight by creating the idea that war was a noble & glorious thing. War coult also be profitable. But the realities of war were cruelty, death, destruction. The Black Prince who was the living example of chivalry in England, was feared in France for his cruelty. Ed III reigned for 50 years (died in 1377). His soldier son, the Black Prince died in 1376.Ed III's 10-year-old grandson became King Richard II. The boy's uncle John Gaunt, ruled for him. Richard II was less fortunate. He had neither diplomatic skills nor popularity. He had bad advisers (a tax for every person over the age of 15). Landlords tried to force peasants back to serfdom. People revolted, their leader was Wat Tyler. R II managed to put it down, but the revolt was a warning to the king & nobles. R II was the 2nd king to be killed by ambitious lords. He had no children. There were 2 possible successors: 1) the earl of March, the 7-year- old grandson of Ed III's second son; 2) Henry on Lancaster, son of John of Gaunt.

England’s greatest monarchs. 15. Elizabeth I. Elizabeth I, daughter of Henry VIII, was the first of three long-reigning queens in the British history (the other two are Victoria and Elizabeth II). During her long reign she established, by skillful diplomacy, a reasonable degree of internal stability in a firmly Protestant England, allowing the growth of a spirit of patriotism and general confidence. She never married, but used its possibility as a diplomatic tool. She became known as the “Virgin Queen”. Her reign is characterized by intellectual brilliance, flourishing literature and commercial prosperity. 16. A global language is a language that is spoken internationally and is learned and spoken by a large number of people as a second language. A global language is characterized not only by the total number of speakers (native and second language speakers), but also by its geographical distribution, as well as use ininternational organizations and diplomatic relations. The rapid spread of the English language all over the world and its broad employnment in our country defines the actuality of the given research paper. This work seeks to understand why English has become the language of international scope, what future awaits this language, how many people speak it worldwide and what is the history of the English language expansion in the world

Grand Embassy Peter knew that Russia could not face the Ottoman Empire alone. In 1697 he traveled "incognito" to Western Europe on an 18-month journey with a large Russian delegationthe so-called "Grand Embassy". He used a fake name, allowing him to escape social and diplomatic events, but since he was far taller than most others, he did not fool anyone of importance. One goal was to seek the aid of European monarchs, but Peter's hopes were dashed. France was a traditional ally of the Ottoman Sultan, and Austria was eager to maintain peace in the east while conducting its own wars in the west. Peter, furthermore, had chosen an inopportune moment: the Europeans at the time were more concerned about the War of

The Constitution, which was adopted by popular referendum on 28 June 1992, establishes the rule of law and judicial power as the basic ideas. It determines the role of the courts and their position in the general system of government. Modern legal theories, the examples of other countries, Estonia's own

THE STYLE OF OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS (I. Galperin "Stylistics") The style of official documents includes the language of business, legal, military and diplomatic documents. It has a definite communicative aim and its own system of interrelated language and stylistic means. devolved government in a part of the United Kingdom. The Act never took effect, but was finally replaced by a fourth Act. *The problem of Ulster in C20 After World War II large groups of young people began to demonstrate and demand their rights. The new generation of IRA leaders welcomed and aided the violent youngsters. The violence created a situation of terrorism, fear and greater support for radical groups. Gradually the presence was "normalized". A regional diplomatic breakthrough between the UK government and the Republic of Ireland united the two governments north and south of the border in the Anglo-Irish Agreement. The use of concerned third parties also played an important part. The wider political trends of the European Union also undercut the conflict. *Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson He was King of the United Kingdom until his abdication. Only months into his reign, Edward caused a constitutional crisis by proposing

My Trigonometry teacher, Mr. Varner, who I would have hated anyway just because of the subject he taught, was the only one who made me stand in front of the class and introduce myself. I stammered, blushed, and tripped over my own boots on the way to my seat. After two classes, I started to recognize several of the faces in each class. There was always someone braver than the others who would introduce themselves and ask me questions about how I was liking Forks. I tried to be diplomatic, but mostly I just lied a lot. At least I never needed the map. One girl sat next to me in both Trig and Spanish, and she walked with me to the cafeteria for lunch. She was tiny, several inches shorter than my five feet four inches, but her wildly curly dark hair made up a lot of the difference between our heights. I couldn't remember her name, so I smiled and nodded as she prattled about teachers and classes. I didn't try to keep up.

contain the R577X variant of the ACTN3 gene, a mutation that results in a complete de ciency of our most desired ACTN3. This variant, amusingly called a "nonsense allele," is found in more than a billion humans worldwide. Sad Christmas. The cover letter from Gist Sports began with the following headline, which, in good humor, lacks an exclamation point: Congratulations Tim Ferriss. Your Genetic Advantage: Endurance Sports. This is a diplomatic way of telling me (1) I'm not likely to win an Olympic gold medal in sprinting, and (2) I am not genetically pre-programmed to gain a lot of muscular mass. I hadn't won the fast-twitch lottery for bodybuilding,8 and chances are that you haven't either. Looking at family photos, this result wasn't surprising. What is surprising is how well you can override genetics. I have gained more than 20 pounds of fat-free mass within four weeks on at least four occasions, the most recent in 2005
