Ireland Jaan Paljak Class 9 21.11.2011 Geography • The island of Ireland is located in the north-west of Europe, between latitudes 51° and 56° N, and longitudes 11° and 5° W. It is separated from the neighbouring island of Great Britain by the Irish Sea and the North Channel. • A ring of coastal mountains surround low plains at the centre of the island. climate  The climate of Ireland can be summed up as being mild, moist and changeable with abundant rainfall and a lack of temperature extremes.  The country receives generally warm summers and mild winters, and is considerably warmer than other areas on its latitude. This is due to the fact it lies in the Atlantic Ocean, and as a result is warmed by the Gulf Stream all year. tourist attractions  Smarmore Castle  Benburb Castle  The National Galle ry of Ireland World Heritage Sites in Ireland Brú na Bóinne

How to become successful

How to become successful?

However, giving up on one's dreams is definitely not the solution. Depending on the problem blocking the path to success, one should keep plugging away towards the goal or give the situation some time to settle and try to tackle them after some time. Although, I think that there can be no such thing as a "script of how to be successful". Success is measured by everyone on their own and everyone sees success differently. If one doesn't strive towards being wealthy, but wants abundant free-time to think of oneself as successful instead, then my recommedations brought out above would be useful for them. All in all, I think figuring out the definition of successful and setting the most crucial principles are the main guidelines for one's case. So as I wish to have a decent job in the sience field, I think of those two things as of the things I have to follow.

The growing season is short and most plants reproduce by budding and division rather than sexually by flowering. There are no deep root systems in the vegetation of the tundra; however, there are a wide variety of plants that are able to resist the cold climate. The fauna is also diverse. Animals such as mammals and birds also have additional insulation from fat. Many animals hibernate during the winter because food is not abundant. Another alternative is to migrate south in the winter, like birds do. Reptiles and amphibians are few or absent because of the extremely cold temperatures. Because of constant migration, the population continually oscillates. Alpine tundra is located on mountains throughout the world at high altitude where trees cannot grow. The growing season is approximately 180 days. The nighttime temperature is usually below freezing. Unlike the arctic tundra, the soil in the alpine is well drained

majority of the year. Climate sculpts the landscape through heat, cold, humidity, light and wind. In Canada, the variety of landscapes shows the diversity of our climate. In the north, low precipitation and cold temperatures favour permafrost and suppress vegetation growth, resulting in treeless tundra. South of the tundra, on the Canadian Shield, summers are short and warm, and winters are long and cold. Annual precipitation is abundant, allowing coniferous forests to establish and grow. On the Pacific coast, the combination of heavy rainfall and mild temperatures year round supports Canada, Kärt Kalvet 8a temperate rain forests. On the Prairies, the large number of days of sunshine affects the development of the agricultural landscape. In the Maritimes, the Atlantic Ocean moderates the climate such that winters are generally long and mild, and summers are short and cool. These conditions help in the development of forests

Most of the soil microorganisms are mesophilic (25 to 40 °) and optimum temperature for most mesophiles is 37° C. True psychrophiles are almost absent in soil, and thermopiles though present in soil behaves like mesophiles. True thermopiles are more abundant in decaying manure and compost heaps where high temperature prevails. Seasonal changes in soil temperature affect microbial population and their activity especially in temperate regions. In winter, when temperature is low (below 50° C ), the number and activity of microorganisms falls down, and as the soils warms up in spring, they increases in number as well as activity. In general, population and activities of soil microorganisms are the highest in spring and lowest in winter season. 5

There are no extremes of temperature, abundant rainfall all the year round and frequent changes of the weather. English people often complain about their weather. The mild climate is due to the warm Gulf Stream. Occasional winds from the east in winter bring cold and dry weather. The mountainous areas of the north and west have mare rain than the lowlands of the south and east. The best time to visit England is from May to September. The first British captain who saw the new continent was William Dampier who visited the north western coast in 1688 and 1689. In 1770 the British sailor Captain James Cook landed on the east coast at Botany bay, and said Australia now belonged to Britain. Of course nobody asked the Aborigines about this - it was the beginning of a terrible time for them. Narrowly escaping shipwreck on the Great Barrier Reef, Cook sailed home to England. He reported a land with abundant fresh water and lush vegetation and very suitable settlers. Britain soon started to send convicts to the new country. In May 1787 eleven ships left England for Australia carrying about 1,500 people, half of whom were convicts and the other half their guards. They reached Port Jackson - now Sydney - in January 1787. Life was very difficult and the convicts had to work very hard making roads, buildings and farms. In 1851 gold was found in New South Wales and Victoria. There was a great gold rush

Biogas – The source of future energy

Biogas can prevent the further increase of carbon dioxide in atmosphere. I feel that by using biogas we can stop the increase of global warming but we can't reduce already present carbon dioxide level in atmosphere. So the earth remains as polluted as it is but it prevents atmosphere from getting imbalanced more. But it is not a perfect solution. For example I think that hydrogen fuel is way better than biogas fuel, because hydrogen is the most abundant chemical element, constituting roughly 75 % of the Universe's chemical elemental mass. So, I think that biogas is definitely a source of future energy but there are other alternatives which can be useful for us. This report gave me lot of knowledge about biogas as well as other fields of renewable energy. Also I think that my English has improved thanks to the new vocabulary and material I have worked through. Despite of scientific text and

Its characteristic features are mild winters, warm summer, no temperature extremes, abundant rain all year round and frequent changes of weather. The mild climate is partly due to the warm Gulf Stream and partly to the south westerly winds. Occasional winds from the east in winter may bring cold and dry weather. The distribution of rainfall is influenced by the Atlantic Stream. The mountainous areas of the north and west have more rain than the lowlands of the south and east. their Scots origins and share their traditions with people from around the world. Scots culture is not a museum piece; it is a living thing that grows and thrives as it is touched by other cultures and other traditions. In 2006, in the Canadian Census, 4.7 million Canadians reported that they were of Scottish origin. Today, there are almost as many Scots Canadians as there are people in the whole of Scotland. 12. Which important minerals are found in Alberta? Canada is abundant in many mineral resources — mined in every province and territory — and a world leader in the production of potash, aluminum, nickel, salt, sulphur and uranium, among others. Today, Canada is the leading producer of potash and is estimated to rank in the top five global producers of aluminum, diamonds, cobalt, nickel, platinum, tungsten, uranium and sulphur Alberta is the country's largest producer of crude oil and gas products (especially natural gas) 13

extract oil and gas from beneath of the ground. From the oceans on our east and west coast we take fish and other seafood. In Japanese restaurants customers may buy Alberta beef and British Columbia salmon. In Russia people sometimes eat bread from Canadian wheat. In the United States many of the newspapers are made from Canadian pulp and people use Canadian oil and gas in their cars. Because Canada has a relatively small population and abundant natural resources much of our international trade is in exporting those resources and buying manufactured goods. Their most important customer for exports is the United States of America. Other export customers are also Japan, the United Kingdom and Germany. Canada exports a lot of products: what and other grains, beef and other meat, oil, dairy products, sugar beets and maple sugar products to name a few. Copper, cold, iron ore,

- stereokeemia - suhteline hüdrofoobsus ja polaarsus - ionisatsioon - muud keemilised omadused Gly increases the flexibility of the polypeptide backbone since there is no steric hindrance from the side chain - this permits sharp turns or bends and the ability to fit in tight spots. Gly residues are often highly conserved, and often found at turns. Ala with its small side-chain is found equally in the interior and on the surface and is a very abundant amino acid in proteins. Val, Leu, Ile with their bulky hydrophobic side-chains are stiffer due to steric hindrance, their bulk also tends to make them helix breakers. Hydrophobic side chains are most commonly found in the interior, i. e. buried, of proteins. The aromatic amino acids have a b-methylene to provide some flexibility; they are non-polar, although Tyr has the polar phenol group. Aromatic side-chains tend to pack together at 90°C , rather than side-to-side

entertainment. The White Lady Days is a summer celebration filled with amusement for all the family. Held in and around the remains of the Teutonic-knights-era castles, the fair combines enchanting medieval legends with modern countryside charm to create a comprehensive experience of Estonia beyond the big cities. But the legend of the White Lady of Haapsalu, which is at the heart of the festival, is perhaps the most famous tall tale of the many that are so abundant in Estonia's folklore. It is the story of a poor girl who falls in love with the son of the village elder, and disguises herself as a choirboy in order to sneak into the castle. But, alas, the lord of the manor's son discovers the deception. He is overcome by jealous rage and orders his men to seal the girl inside the thick stone walls while still alive. Turned into an incarnation of undying love, the White Lady now appears every August, on the night of the full moon, in the Dome Church chapel

barriers would need to be overcome to reach this theoretical capacity. Advantages Wind energy is fueled by the wind, so it's a clean fuel source. Wind energy doesn't pollute the air like power plants that rely on combustion of fossil fuels, such as coal or natural gas. Wind turbines don't produce atmospheric emissions that cause acid rain or greenhouse gasses. Wind energy is a domestic source of energy, produced in the United States. The nation's wind supply is abundant. Wind energy relies on the renewable power of the wind, which can't be used up. Wind is actually a form of solar energy; winds are caused by the heating of the atmosphere by the sun, the rotation of the earth, and the earth's surface irregularities. Wind energy is one of the lowest-priced renewable energy technologies available today, costing between 4 and 6 cents per kilowatt-hour, depending upon the wind resource and project financing of the particular project.

The results of the questionnaire that explored the purchase habits of users and their awareness of harmful substances have also been presented. The thesis has been prepared in Estonian and it consists of 44 pages, 16 of which include tables drawn up for the analysis and the results of the questionnaire. Most of the material originates from the Internet. A major part of the information on legislation comes from the website of the Consumer Protection Board that includes an abundant selection of links. The information on emulsions and cream types mostly originates from the “Kosmeetiline keemia” electronic textbook prepared by L. Simisker for beauticians. Information on harmful substances originates from various blogs and websites devoted to natural cosmetics. The surveymonkey.com website has been used to conduct the questionnaire and the selection of creams is based on the face creams sold at the Selver, Maxima and Rimi supermarkets.

His successful teaching career continued in Tallinn from 1940 until his death in 1970. Eller promoted the individuality of his students. Eduard Oja (1905-1950), though influenced by Eller, followed his own path. Oja’s best works may be characterised as poetic, vigorous, abundant in fancy and imagery. He was devoted to folk art, having taken part in folk music gathering expeditions. Oja was deeply interested in the philosophical aspects of art and life; his thoughts being expressed later in Ajatriloogia (Time Trilogy, 1936), consisting of three miniatures (Life, Eternity and Today) for orchestra. The most extensive and suggestive work from the early Thirties is Ilupoeem (Beauty Poem, 1930), his first composition for orchestra that stands out with

Blending biodiesel into petroleum diesel can help reduce emissions. Biodiesel contains almost no sulfur and can help reduce sulfur in diesel fuel used throughout the country. COAL Coal is a combustible black or brownish-black sedimentary rock composed mostly of carbon and hydrocarbons. It is the most abundant fossil fuel produced in the United States. Coal is a nonrenewable energy source because it takes millions of years to create. The energy in coal comes from the energy stored by plants that lived hundreds of millions of years ago, when the earth was partly covered with swampy forests. For millions of years, a layer of dead plants at the bottom of the swamps was covered by layers of water and dirt, trapping the energy of the dead plants. The heat and pressure from the top layers helped the

There is also a common feature the use of abbreviations, conventional symbols and contractions (M.P. = Member of Parliament; ltd. = limited, gvt = government). Abbreviations are particularly abundant in military documents and used as signs of the military code. Another feature is the use of words in their logical dictionary meaning. Drills egg hole in stem in which it lays its egg. The larva, a white legless larva, burrows in the stem pith. Much more abundant in drouthy sites and years. Resistance to seed insects can be improved by the presence of a dark colored "armor" layer in the seed coat. Resistance to midge has been suggested but is not currently effective. Only currently approved insecticides should be used for control of insects. Birds can be major pests in sunflowers. Especially important are blackbird, goldfinch, dove, grosbeak and sparrow. Russia, dating back to the reign of Catherine the Great. These need to be studied and a selection made for nomination. By 1800, most European engineers were open to using cast iron. Architects, however, preferred traditional materials such as granite and marble for the visible parts of buildings and wood for hidden structural parts like roof trusses, and did not accept cast iron as having aesthetic merit or structural value. In the USA, still blessed with abundant virgin forests, the early 19th century was the era of "carpenter engineers." Men like Timothy Palmer, Lewis Wernwag, Theodore Burr, and Ithiel Town followed British custom by conceiving and building truss forms predicated on intuition and pragmatic rules of thumb. Their craft tradition of knowledge, passed down from master to apprentice, contrasted with the scientific analysis and mathematical formulas practised by French government engineers
