THE CATCHER IN THE RYE”
Review
2018
Don't ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody .”
J.D. Salinger
Book is read. I'm very pleased to report that I joined the group of people who have already read “The catcher in the rye”. Many people have mentioned this story in some conversations and lots of quotes in Internet contain “J.D.Salinder” in the end of it, therefore I was really excited when we decided to read this book as a part of our English lesson course . It was very good way for English skills practice and also self-liberalizing.
I think many teenagers would be able to relate the book to the actual themes - it's a modern classic of today . Every teeneager has had once felt himself sort of depressed and upset . It is absolutely normal state for identity formation. We mature, we become adults, we revise our values and are feeling really unusual sometimes. Lots of times I have caught myself thinking that I'd already felt something like this before … Lots of moments in this book were really similar to some periods of my life and many relatives seemed very similar to characters of this book.
“The Catcher in the Rye” certainly wouldn't be everyone's “cup of tea book”, however I find it an exciting and captivating reading , with a variety of brutal reality poured in along with some humour, contrasting with moments of depression .
For me it's quite difficult to rate this book. On the one hand , it is very strange and depressive. While reading it I was thinking and assuming myself being the heros of this book. All my thoughts were so sad and denudative. I was even thinking about what I am and what I am living for and is there any point for it. Serious influence, isn’t it?
On the other hand, this book gave me a lot. It has put me thinking about significant things, as well as J.D. Salinger's novel is a wake-up call for all teenagers and in a sense is inspiring to read because it sends out the message that we should all remain hopeful and true to ourselves. Teenagers can appeal to this story because of its complex themes of rebellion, identity and independence, but I would recommend everyone to read it before becoming an adult because it's the only way you could understand Holden 's actions while reading the book!
To conclude, I would like to say that I don’t regret reading “The catcher in the rye”. It wasn't similar to the books I've read before, so that it was something new and uncommon. I think that this is one of those books that everyone should read being a teen. Maybe this book would save from some mistakes we can make being a teenager. As the saying goes, it is better to learn on other people's mistakes than to make them yourself.

Libraries. We know a lot of things thanks to books, but we do not know exactly when and where they originated, and what should be considered the first book in the world. Ancient document, written on parchment, papyri and vellum can hardly be qualified as books the way we understand the word today. Centuries went before paper replaced parchment and papyri. In the 15 th century Johann Gutenberg invented a mechanical process of duplicating texts, which we today call book printing. The first book was printed between 1444 and 1446, so these years can be considered as the beginning years of book printing. His most important preserved printings are the 40 copies of the Bible. By the end of the 15 th century there were about 1000 print-shops in Europe already. The oldest Estonian book dates back to 1535. Libraries form a vital part of education. They make available-through books, films, recordings and other media- knowledge that h

My languages I love different languages. I mean, I really, really love different languages. I also believe and have been told that I pick them up rather easily. That might be true, although I did not pick any Greek up in Greece but that might have been because they spoke so damn fast that I could not tell if it was a word or an entire sentence. The first foreign language I learned was Russian. Considering I was ten when Estonia became a Republic, it makes sense. We began studying Russian in first grade, though it was simplified – "koška" instead of "kot", "medvešonok" instead of "medved", "saichik" etc. Did not make much sense and we mostly played some games in Russian (Tare-tareke etc). Learned as much playing outside, since we had Estonian-Russian kids around as well. Not that we played with them. It's sad to say but it was not a nice time to be a Russian kid. We were mean to them, and we did not even know why. I think that's the onl
