Unusual animals

I slaid I am going to talk about strange animals that live in Australia. II slaid Australian kangaroos are the most famous Australian animals, and they belong to the most recognisable icons in the world. Australians call them 'roos' and they can be found in all parts of Australia, not just in the Outback. Their young are called joeys. All kangaroos are herbivores and only eat plants. The biggest enemies of kangaroos are humans. III slaid The Koala is one of Australia's best known animals. It is an icon represented when promoting Australia to the tourist industry. Koalas are mainly found in the south east Australia. Koalas are often referred to as a Koala bear. However they are not a bear. The name Koala comes from an Aboriginal word. It means "no drink", as Koalas get enough fluids through the eucalyptis leaves they feed on. They do not move around much and are only active for about 2 hours of the day. IV slaid The thorny devil l...

In my opinion, Oliver was weird. He had his own thoughts and rules like to lose his virginity before his next birthday. He had his own weird friends, and few girl friends. There were times, when Oliver was kind of caring, kind, considering and helpful but most of the times he was very lonely (except being with Jordana). He wanted his parents to love each other passionately and he had pretty much work with this. Then there was Jordana, a girl who was very unusual. To me she seemed a bit angry and kind of shy. She liked to do things that other girls on her age never would do. That pretty much says the basic things about her. Oliver parents were weirder than Oliver. They rarely talked to each other. This movie was weird to me. I didn't get the main idea of this movie. All that I understand is that Oliver, Jordana and his family were unusual. They lived a life that was full of pain, silence and injustice a life that I would never want to live.

Newspapers in Britain

In britain, the newspaper industry, often called Fleet Street, has a mojar influance on public opinion and is a strong force in political life. Britain's press is unusual in that it is divided into two very different types of newspaper: the quality press and the popular press. The term quality press is used to describe papers, which follow the tradition of the journals of the 18th and early 19th centuries. The 'quality' papers are printed on large papers, have an undramatic layout and are serious in tone. They have editorials which comment on important issues and reflect the political views of the editor. They are more expensive than tabloids

Ads everywhere

Ads everywhere Advertising has become a part of everyday culture. We know all of the tricks that advertisers use to sell us their products and so they need to work harder than ever to keep us interested. The latest trend designed to do this is known as ambient advertising. It’s a practice of putting ads in unusual places. It allows the advertisers to be flexible. One recent award-winning campaign advertised a modern art agency by putting stickers on everyday objects such as lamp-posts and paving stones. It seems that wherever you go these days some advertising agency will have got there first and will be desperately trying to grab your attention.

Emily Dickinson Emily Elizabeth Dickinson (December 10, 1830 May 15, 1886) was an American poet. Born in Amherst, Massachusetts, to a successful family with strong community ties, she lived a mostly introverted and reclusive life. Emily Dickinson, regarded as one of America's greatest poets, is also well known for her unusual life of self imposed social seclusion. Living a life of simplicity and seclusion, she yet wrote poetry of great power; questioning the nature of immortality and death, with at times an almost mantric quality. Her different lifestyle created an aura; often romanticised, and frequently a source of interest and speculation. But ultimately Emily Dickinson is remembered for her unique poetry. Within short, compact phrases she expressed far-

Jazz

Jazz Jazz is a type of lively music with strong, complex rhythms. It's earlier expression is said to be ragtime. Jazz was first played at the beginning of the 20th century by black musicians in New Orleans, Louisiana. Jazz began with a basic trio of musicians: a cornet, a trumpet or a violin and a trombone. Below this there was a guitar or a banjo, sometimes a piano and drums. Jazz musicians often accent or add notes or beats in unusual or unexpected places. Also they add other elements of black music such as blues and ragtime to make a unique American music form. Musicians make up tunes as they play. Jazz music has changed, and today there are many different forms of Jazz. Ragtime, famous musicians from that time are Irving Berlin, Ben Harney, Scott Joplin. Then there are dixieland famous musicians from that period is Louis Armstrong. In the 1920-s to the 1930-s there were European jazz and Swing, famous musicians were

Should advertisements promoting alcohol be banned?

buy it. Usually people do not think that it looks good only on TV and those drinks are harmful for health. Furthermore, advertisements promoting alcohol show that drinking alcohol makes people cooler and parties better. In these advertisements all the people are smiling, nobody is angry and everybody feels at ease. But in real life these parties are not so good, some people, who are really drunk, start to fight with other ones. Also, it is not unusual for some people to end their party in hospital. On the other hand, there are lots of people who drink alcoholic drinks only when they are eating. They do not want to get drunk and they drink in small amounts. In this case, advertisements have not such a great influence on them. Maybe they want to try out other brands, for instance. In conclusion, I feel that advertisements promoting alcohol should be banned. There are alcoholic drinks in almost every shop and that is enough

OBSERVING FOXES Catching a sight of an fox in the wild is quite a challenge, because they have a lifestyle where they mainly move and hunt in dusk or at night. People think that foxes are cleaver because of their good hunting skills by escaping fast and mixing traces. During the hunt, they are very cautious. The red fox is very curious. When they see some interesting and unusual objeckt, such as a human, the fox can easely come to investigate. The best place to see a fox is in the coppices. In the winter, set out during the daytime, when it is still white outside and find a likely spot. Then sit quietly and try not to move much. What methods should parents and governments use to tackle obesity in schoolchildren?

low physical activity are more likely to become overweight sooner or later. By changing living habits and stepping up as good role models parents should adapt food that is beneficial and doing sports into normal everyday life. If this is what kids are used to doing in a young age the more likely they will use the same technique when raising their own children in the future. An alternative approach that is definitely not less important- providing schoolkids many interesting and unusual workouts such as archery and rowing so every child can chose his/ her passion, something that keeps them exited and as a big bonus- fit. Maintaining unique trainings can be expensive and troublesome for schools. There can be no doubt that this is a place where the government should take action and channel more money into children after school activities. In conclusion, giving schoolkids more challenging and fun opportunities to do sports would surely change their life for the better

Bill was so happy that she was alive that he proposed to her. I really liked this book for its suspenseful quality and its unexpected outcome. The book kept me wondering what will happen and the ending shocked me. Bundle was an interesting character in the book because she was a determined, independant girl which was unusual in the late 1920's. The characters and the setting work together to make an enticing story that ends with a cheerful outlook on life. The story started out with bleak murders but ended with a wonderful proposal.

The invention of the car changed the world

people take advantage of haveing a car and tend to take up too high speeds for showing how tough fellows they are. Often boasting like this can cause big devastations, meaning accidents and all kinds of fines, not mentioning times, when a driver might be under influence of the alcohol, which is definitely the worst possibility of all. But that´s the world we live in and when we meet such an unusual situation, we´d have a fair opportunity to say that cars have a badbad influence on our welfare society. In the other hand for example in the winter mornings, looking out of the window is cold enough to send shivers down to our spines,we´d thank the lord that there is a warm car in the garage, ready to take us to school or work, without beeing frozened. Everything has it ´s own good and bad sides, which often compensate eachother. It´s hard to discuss how

Republic of Chile Republic of Chile is a country in South America occupying a long and narrow coastal strip wedged between the Andes mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Chile's unusual, ribbon-like shape -- 4,300 kilometres long and on average 175 kilometres wide -- has given it a hugely varied climate, ranging from the world's driest desert -- the Atacama -- in the north, through a Mediterranean climate in the centre, to a snow-prone Alpine climate in the south, with glaciers, fjords and lakes. The Pacific forms the country's entire western border, with a coastline that stretches over 6,435 kilometres.

Secondly, women should wear a blouse with pants or a skirt for casual, jeans are generally not appropriate. It is also important to remember, that standing with your hands on your hips suggests agressiveness for the locals and keeping your hand in the pocket is impolite. That seems normal to me, but you should avoid doing these things in Mexico. The local peole loves to communicate and you may be greeted with an embrace. What is especially unusual to Estonians, a woman may pat another woman's shoulder or forearm, or kiss her on the cheek. What is more, Mexicans, also may not make the eye contact, which is a sign of respect. The local people like to delay things for tomorrow and be late around an hour. Contrary to what people believe, refrain using first names of people until they say you to do so. Titles are important, you may directly speak to someone by only using his or her title only.

The movie was brightened up with a lot of humorous scenes and characters. There was this usual Bruce Willis type of humour, also this young Leeloo who firstly didn't know anything and acted like a baby and also there was this really annoying character- DJ Ruby Rhod. It was quite unusual to combine real serious plot (destroying life) to comedy so it wasn't an usual science fiction. Compare to ohter this type of films this was actually quite enjoyable even though the plot was really predictable. The thing what was really ridiculous was these silly costumes. Usually the aliens should look scary, but in this film you just can't stop laughing at them and this blue singing diva? Theres no way you can take her seriously.

Music review

The extra track on the deluxe version is named "Are You Ready?" and the two acoustic versions are of "I Hate Everything About You" and "Drown". When I first listened to this album, I didn't like it as much as I enjoyed listening to "One- X". But as I listened to the songs repeatedly, my sympathy for this particular album grew and soon I knew that it would be my favourite collection of songs for a long time. I like all of the tracks, which is very unusual for me, as I usually like only one song while I am able to despise all the rest of the tracks on the CD. The songs don't give you the feeling when you're listening to love songs or tracks about strong positive feelings. These musical pieces concentrate more on the negative feelings a person can feel and why some have to go through such bad experiences. The tracks are built on pain and anger, emotions that every living person feels but rarely do we sing about them.

Tasmaania Tiiger

the largest known carnivorous marsupial of modern times. • Native to continental Australia, Tasmania and New Guinea. • Believed to have become extinct in the 20th century. • Became extremely rare or extinct on the Australian mainland before British settlement of the continent, but it survived to the 1930s on the island of Tasmania. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vqCCI1ZF7o • The thylacine was able to open its jaws to an unusual extent: up to 120 degrees. This capability can be seen in part in David Fleay's short black-and- white film sequence of a captive thylacine from 1933. The jaws were muscular but weak and had 46 teeth. • The thylacine held the title of Australia's largest predator until about 3500 years ago. • The thylacine resembled a large, short-haired dog with a stiff tail which smoothly extended from the body in a way similar to that of a kangaroo.

Review "THE CATCHER IN THE RYE"

it, therefore I was really excited when we decided to read this book as a part of our English lesson course. It was very good way for English skills practice and also self- liberalizing. I think many teenagers would be able to relate the book to the actual themes - it's a modern classic of today. Every teeneager has had once felt himself sort of depressed and upset. It is absolutely normal state for identity formation. We mature, we become adults, we revise our values and are feeling really unusual sometimes. Lots of times I have caught myself thinking that I'd already felt something like this before... Lots of moments in this book were really similar to some periods of my life and many relatives seemed very similar to characters of this book. "The Catcher in the Rye" certainly wouldn't be everyone's "cup of tea book", however I find it an exciting and captivating reading, with a variety of brutal reality poured in along with some humour, contrasting with moments of depression.

Weather forecast

how much time is avail-able, which means that he/she has to be thoroughly prepared so that the material can be adapted to the time available. Another related complication is that the weather forecast has to be a live broadcast; it cannot be pre-recorded. Live shows are very nerve-racking for the presenter because almost anything can go wrong. Perhaps the most worrying aspect for every weather forecaster is getting the following day's predictions wrong. Unfortunately for them this is not 34 an unusual occurrence; the weather is not always possible to predict accurately. The weather is a national obsession in Britain, perhaps because it is so changeable. It's the national talking point, and most people watch at least one daily bulletin. It can be mortifying for a weather man or woman who has predicted rain for the morning to wake up to brilliant sunshine. These days, a weather forecaster’s job is even more complicated because they are relied upon to predict other environmental conditions
