Tsunaamid

TSUNAMI Kristjan Sillaots G1R2 WHAT IS TSUNAMI? A tsunami is a series of ocean waves that sends surges of water, sometimes reaching heights of over 100 feet (30.5 meters), onto land. These walls of water can cause widespread destruction when they crash ashore. WHAT CAUSES A TSUNAMI? These awe-inspiring waves are typically caused by large, undersea earthquakes at tectonic plate boundaries. When the ocean floor at a plate boundary rises or falls suddenly, it displaces the water above it and launches the rolling waves that will become a tsunami.

Violence on tv

Some people say that it is totally wrong and that it should be banned. Most people like the violence and find it to be very entertaining. Parents find it very hard to restrict their kids from watching violent television programs. The child would want to watch that program twice as much just because their parents said not to watch it. The child would be curious to find out what is so wrong about the program. The worst outcome of TV is that it sends out the wrong messages. Television shows also send out wrong messages to adults too. Some people that watch movies like "300" try the violent acts that are shown. TV has a very strong influence and can affect the ways we see things. I think that we can also learn form watching TV Some people feel that violence on television should be banned. Other people feel that it is entertaining.

method is to change your bodies chemical composition with legal and illegal substances. That is only a short- term solution and makes the situation even worse, because you become dependant on these substances. But there are other better albeit slower solutions. For example breathing slower and meditating has been found beneficial for stressreilief. Even some foods have been shown to reduce the level of cortisol in our body. Cortisol is a stressinducing hormone that sends signals to the body, when your brain thinks it is in trouble. So the best cure would be to just feel less anxious and to be more realistic about your enviorment. If you see your little challenges as they are, you will surely feel better and make more pragmatic decisions.

future together. Love is altered anywhere anytime and that's where people are so dumb they think that they will be together and that they will love each other and then they make dumb choices that ruin their lives. Puck put a spell so that Lysander would despise Hermia but what if that never happened can it be assumed that they would have been in love until their dying days? Is love true or false? Or is it just a chemical imbalance that people have which sends them into a unrealistic state of mind. We will never know the truth of love but that still doesnâTMt make a feeling rational just a mystery. So the next time you tell someone that you love them think of Hermia and Lysander and really mean everything that you say because you never know, you could wake and realize it was all a dream.

depressive. While reading it I was thinking and assuming myself being the heros of this book. All my thoughts were so sad and denudative. I was even thinking about what I am and what I am living for and is there any point for it. Serious influence, isn't it? On the other hand, this book gave me a lot. It has put me thinking about significant things, as well as J.D. Salinger's novel is a wake-up call for all teenagers and in a sense is inspiring to read because it sends out the message that we should all remain hopeful and true to ourselves. Teenagers can appeal to this story because of its complex themes of rebellion, identity and independence, but I would recommend everyone to read it before becoming an adult because it's the only way you could understand Holden's actions while reading the book! To conclude, I would like to say that I don't regret reading "The catcher in the rye". It

About Tallinn

Tallinn is a small port town in which the population is 371 000 people, and the area is only 159,2 km².( square kilometers). Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, is named after taani linnus, which means Danish castle. The Castle in question was built by King Waldemar of Denmark in the 13th century. The settlement quickly developed itself into a busy port. -The Old Town In medieval age Tallinn was called Reval and it was as big as the Tallinns Old Town is now. Uniqueness of Tallinn is that it is one of very few European cities, where the historical lay-out is kept in it's original form , and has a lot of monuments of that time. Thanks to that in 1997 Old Tallinn has been included in the list of a world heritage of UNESCO. -The Raekoja Square The Raekoja Square is used for senturies like market and fair square, here took place many festivals, and criminals were executed. And he thinks she's interesting, because he can't hear her thoughts. Too bad he's mistaken, but I might say that Bella got really lucky with this one. I do understand that this is just a fantasy novel and not everything has to be deeply realistic and thoroughly explained, but I simply can't understand the dynamics of their relationship. Which is worse, the book makes young girls long for that kind of a creepy, overprotective and somewhat abusive partnership. It sends out a message, that it's perfectly fine, even romantic, to have a boy secretly watch you in your sleep for two months and that it's okay to feel dependant on or possessive about another person a person, who they have nothing in common with and have really nothing to talk about, besides their feelings for each other and the fact that he might turn batsh#t and eat her any second. The Noble Savage in the 20th Century Fiction

Of course, a story can change people without making them go to all sorts of conventions. Even the small ideas make a change. The main part in a story, the one that seemingly makes the impact, who guides the consumer through its change, is the protagonist. The development in the reader or the watcher happens through the transformation of the hero. Usually the main character starts off as an outcast, somebody the society sees as unimportant or too strange. Then something happens that sends the hero on an adventure. The breaking point on his road is meeting a teacher an encounter that gives him the ability to face the adversary of the story. In the end the hero faces his villain, emerges a winner, detaches himself from his outcast status and becomes a significant part of the society. It could be said that the most important part of the hero's progress is this teacher, someone who gives guidance and the knowledge how to defeat the antagonist. Commonly this guide is

The same features express anger and contempt, while softer features are taken to express kindness and friendliness - but note: only if the feelings also extend to the eyes. A mouth that smiles without the eyes smiling as well sends signals of falseness and unreliability. Eyebrows that rise up and down rapidly signal acceptance of social contact. If you raise your eyebrows and keep them raised for a while it signals surprise and astonishment - perhaps even indignation. When the raised eyebrows are used along with a wink you are flirting. This can cause problems. For example, in Japan where it is considered very inappropriate, practically improper, to use eyebrow raising at all.

Christmas in different countrys(jõulud erinevates maades)

Children leave letters on their windowsills for Christkind, a winged figure dressed in white robes and a golden crown who distributes gifts. Sometimes the letters are decorated with glue and sprinkled with sugar to make them sparkle. Germans make beautiful gingerbread houses and cookies. The German Christmas tree pastry, Christbaumgeback, is a white dough that can be molded into shapes and baked for tree decorations. In parts of Germany, people believe that the Christ Child sends a messenger in Christmas Eve. He appears as an angel in a white robe and crown, bearing gifts. The angel is called Christkind. There is also a Christmas Eve figure called Weihnachtsmann or Christmas Man, he looks like Santa Claus and also brings gifts. Some homes in Germany have several Christmas trees, and in all towns across Germany, they can be seen glittering and glowing. In Germany they hang up advent wreaths of Holly with four red candles in the center. They

The first seven bytes of the preamble serve to "wake up" the receiving adapters and to synchronize their clocks to that of the sender's clock. The last two bits of the eighth byte of the preamble (the first two consecutive 1s) alert adapter B that the "important stuff" is about to come. All of the Ethernet technologies provide connectionless service to the network layer. When adapter A wants to send a datagram to adapter B, adapter A encapsulates the datagram in an Ethernet frame and sends the frame into the LAN, without first "handshaking" with adapter B. All the Ethernet technologies provide an unreliable service to the network layer. When adapter B receives a frame from A, adapter B does not send an acknowledgment when a frame passes the CRC check (nor does it send a negative ACK when a frame fails the CRC check). When a frame fails the CRC check, adapter B simply discards the frame. This helps make Ethernet simple and cheap. But it also means that the

The Cataclysmic Death of Stars

usually evolves as slowly as watching paint dry," says one. But these days, hundreds of astronomers keep cell phones and beepers close by so they can rush to work like doctors on call. They're waiting for word from a spacecraft called Swift. Swift, launched in 2004, scans the skies for gamma rays. When it detects a burst, it swivels its telescopes toward the source to get a good fix and detect the afterglow--the lingering point of light that marks the spot where a burst originated. It also sends an alert to earthbound astronomers, who can take a closer look with bigger telescopes. Early on February 18, 2006, Swift recorded an outpouring of gamma rays from somewhere toward the constellation Aries. Within three minutes, the satellite had determined the position of the burst and broadcast an alert. Two days later, astronomers at a telescope in Arizona reported that the burst came from a small, nearby galaxy, only a fraction as far away as usual.

Jake excuses himself and leaves them alone. Summary: Chapter VII Couldn't we live together, Brett? Couldn't we just live together? (See Important Quotations Explained) Jake returns home, and Brett and Count Mippipopolous show up. Jake asks why she missed their appointment but does not believe her when she says she forgot it out of drunkenness. Brett offers to send the count away. Jake tells her not to, but she sends him for champagne. Jake asks why they cannot live together, and she tells him that she would only make him unhappy by cheating on him. She announces that she is leaving Paris for San Sebastian, in Spain, because it will be better for both of them. The count returns with the champagne, and he begins to describe his philosophy of life. He has been in seven wars and four revolutions. Because he has lived so much, he says, he is able to enjoy everything fully

Future PCs, however, are expected to have CPU buses running at 200 MHz or faster. SDRAM is not expected to support these high speeds which is why new memory technologies, such as RDRAM and SLDRAM, are being developed. EDO - Short for Extended Data Output Dynamic Random Access Memory, a type of DRAM that is faster than conventional DRAM. Unlike conventional DRAM which can only access one block of data at a time, EDO RAM can start fetching the next block of memory at the same time that it sends the previous block to the CPU. DIMM - Short for dual in-line memory module, a small circuit board that holds memory chips. A single in-line memory module (SIMM) has a 32-bit path to the memory chips whereas a DIMM has 64-bit path. Because the Pentium processor requires a 64-bit path to memory, you need to install SIMMs two at a time. With DIMMs, you can install memory one DIMM at a time. SIMM - Acronym for single in-line memory module, a small circuit board that can hold a group of memory chips

4. I had hardly a rag, etc. = sometimes said by ladies to justify expenditure on clothes. A FRIENDLY VISIT The other evening, Mary and I were reading in the sitting-room when the bell rang. The maid answered the door and showed in our neighbour, Mr. Thomas Smith. Our families are very friendly. He calls me by my nickname, Bill; though my real name is William. I call him Tom, which is short for Thomas. I: Hallo, Tom. Come in. Glad to see you. TOM: Good evening, Mary. Hallo, Bill. Susan sends her regards. She wants you both to come with us to the pictures. MARY: That's very kind of her. How is she? TOM: She's very well, but she's rather anxious about young Tommy. MARY: What's the matter with him? Nothing serious, I hope. TOM: I don't think so. He's got a slight temperature, but I expect he'll be all right by to- morrow. Anyway, she preferred to stay with him. MARY: Quite right too. You can't be too careful when youngsters have temperatures. I hope

It is then voted upon. If it passes, it is sent to the other house where a similar procedure occurs. Members of both houses work together in "conference committees" if the chambers have passed different versions of the same bill. Groups who try to persuade Congressmen to vote for or against a bill are known as "lobbies". When both houses of Congress pass a bill on which they agree, it is sent to the president for his signature. If President is disapproves, he vetoes and refusing to sign it, and sends it back to Congress. President's objection are read and debated. To overcome the President's veto, the bill must get a 2/3 majority in each chamber. The role of service and leisure industries has also grown. Canned fish and timber are the chief products of the state of Alaska, while Hawaii's are sugar, nuts and canned pineapple. Textile industry is also well-developed, especially in the South near the large cotton plantations in the Mississippi Valley. Agriculture is very wide-spread, above all in the prairie regions, where wheat and other grain crops are grown. Besides providing its own people with food, the US sends much food to other countries. Dairy cattle is bred mainly in the eastern part, beef cattle in the prairies. Poultry farms are near the big cities and vegetables and potatoes are grown all over the country. California is famous for its fruit plantations. Natural Resources The United States of America is rich in coal, iron and oil. There are coal-mines in the Cordillera Mountains, in the Kansas City region and in the east near Birmingham and Pittsburgh

Report Of Canada

The foundation of the Canadian economy is foreign trade and the United States is by far the nation's largest trade partner. Foreign trade is responsible for about 45 percent of the nation's gross domestic product (GDP). Free trade agreements between the 2 nations have increased trade by eliminating tariffs. Each day approximately US$1 billion worth of goods crosses the U.S.- Canadian border. To understand the scale of U.S.-Canadian trade, it is important to point out that the United States sends more products to Canada than it does to all of Latin America. Canada, Kärt Kalvet 8a Like Americans, Canadians tend to have high levels of disposable income . This disposable income drives the Canadian economy as consumers spend their excess wages on a variety of products and services. This creates demand for increased production and the development of new products, which also means more and better-paying jobs. Also like the United States, advertising

The post office guarantees to deliver the greeting postcards by the first of January if they are posted within a time limit, from mid-December to near the end of the month and are marked with the word nengajo. To deliver these cards on time, the post office usually hires students part-time to help deliver the letters. It is customary not to send these postcards when one has had a death in the family during the year. In this case, a family member sends a simple postcard to inform friends and relatives they should not send New Year's cards, out of respect for the deceased. People get their nengaj from many sources. Stationers sell preprinted cards. Most of these have the Chinese zodiac sign of the New Year as their design, or conventional greetings, or both. The Chinese zodiac has a cycle of 12 years. Each year is represented by an animal. The animals are, in order: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog,
