First of all, there is prejudice, that a person who has committed a crime will do it again and they are not trustful, therefore they are treated with caution. You have to earn a person´s trust to be in a good relation with him/her and it is hard if you know about someone´s past with criminal aspects. Mohammad Thomas knew answer for all the questions he was asked for. One of the main reasons whay I started to read this book, was the success of the movie Slumdog Millionaire. Although I had not seen the film I thought that the theme of the book and the film was very interesting. So I decided to read the novel first, because the chances are (predictably and almost consistently so), I would like the book better. Most of the movies that were based on books like Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, and the more recent Marley and Me and multiple award- winning Slumdog Millionaire for example, fell short to its namesake. While they were no doubt entertaining films, fans of the book would have expected more and so would I. The book had a depth and a feeling, that was to me, lost in the movie. South-Africa has to host the 1995 Rugby World Cup and the president decides to support the Springboks and meet with their captain Francois Pienaar. Style The term style is a polysemantic one. The latin word ,,stilus" meant a writing instrument used by the ancients for writing on waxed tablets. Already, in classical latin the meaning of style was extended to denote the manner of expressing one's ideas in written or oral form. One of the abts/the best was given by Jonathan Swift: ,,Proper words in proper places." In present- day english, the world style is used in about half a dozen basic meanings. 1. the characteristic manner in which a writer expresses his ideas. In 1929 the Great Depression began with the stock market crash. Banks, factories and farms shut down and many Americans were unemployed. In 1941 the United States entered the Second World War when Japan attacked the Hawaiian Islands. The war ended in 1945 when the USA dropped the first atomic bombs, and the world entered the Nuclear Age. Today about 30 million of 260 million Americans are black. When they were freed after the Civil War, the Southerners were angry at them and showed a lot of prejudice. Some of them formed the Ku Klux Klan who beat and murdered black people. Until in 1870 the blacks didn't have civil rights or the right to vote. In the 20th century many blacks travelled to the North but even there they were treated differently and until 1954 black kids had to go to separate schools. In the 1950s a black churchman by the name Martin Luther King started to fight for black people and said that they were equal to white people
