A doll house is a visually appealing home for an equally perfect doll to live in. In Ibsen's "A Doll House" the values of society were related only to the visual appearance of one's home and family. Social acceptance dictated Torvald and Nora's lives, including their relationship. Torvald can be assumed as not only the owner of this "doll house" but of Nora, his "doll", as well. Their marriage had the constant pressures of the image of perfection, and it is this tension that corrupts their relationship. It also forces Nora to realize the self-centered nature of her husband. Nora ultimately changes her resemblance of Torvald's "doll" and becomes an independent and confrontational woman, creating a great contrast with the title of this play. The standards on social acceptance in 1879 were harsh, and Torvald let it consume every every aspect of his life. His dependence on perfection harmed his

Why “being” is an analogous term? Analagous - 1 word, meanings are partly the same, partly different. Being is said in many ways. 37. How does Aristotle defines movement? The realisation of the possible in so far as it is possible. Movement can be explained because the potential and the actual being exist. (ma ei saa ise ka selles lausest aru, aga see oli pedro slaidides) 38. What is “being in actuality”? What the thing is at the moment. (Having a certain perfection?) 39. What is “being in potency”? The thing’s potency of moving towards perfection. Being in potency means that even if you don’t have now a certain perfection, you have the real capacity of having it. 40. What is “accidental change”? Sth happens but the thing still stays the same in substance. For example if someone cuts off my hand (accidental change), I am still a human. 41. What is “substantial change”?

At first glance you can also see her long, blond hair, as well as slender body which make her look really amazing. As a rule she enjoys wearing atypical clothes. The most characteristic thing about Kristy is her unprecedented sense of humour. It is rare to cheer everybody up in different situations, yet she always manages to do it. Moreover, she is the life and soul of a party, which makes her extremely sociable. Pointing out her tendency to be incredibly precise and insistance an perfection. Some people claim she may seem quick-tempered but in reality deep down, she is really an amiable person. Kristy has a very unpredictable lifestyle, for this reason she spends a lot of time exercising. In her spare time she goes either to a swimming pool or climbing in the mountains which I admire most. In the future she would love to fulfil one of her childhood dreams, namely to become and actress. To sum up, Kristy really deserves admiration due to her ambition and optimism.
The climate in Estonia As in other northern countries, seasons varie widely in Estonia. The length of the longest day in summer is over 19 hours, while the shortest winter day lasts only 6 hours. It is not completely dark at night from the beginning of May until the end of July. Estonia, on the coast of the Baltic Sea, is at the same latitude in Europe as central Sweden and the northern tip of Scotland. In North America, the middle latitude of Estonia passes through the Labrador peninsula and southern coast of Alaska. However, due to the influence of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf Stream, the weather in Estonia is considerably milder than the continental climate characteristic of the same latitude. The temperature in the summer months (June September) is typically 15ºC...18ºC and in winter 4ºC...5ºC. Estonian weather offers many surprises. Temperatures may fluctuate by 20ºC. In the early m...
He claimed, that the pressure would arise interest in economics and politcs among the proletariats so they could take over power, fight against the injustices the bourgeoisie carry out against them and finally free the society from class differentiaton. Secondly, in my opinion, Erik Olin Wright definitely did not think the same. While reading Wright’s thougths and understanding a bit more of his point of view, I could almost believe, that Karl Marx saw the world through his own perfection. Seemed to me, that Wright thought about other parties and societies as well and saw the whole thing from a much bigger perspective, which ultimately, makes him differ from Karl Marx. Wright also saw difference from the obedience relationship between classes, he distinguished domination and exploiting rather than just upper and lower class, which have very concrete aspects that define them. In my opinion, Wright did not think the same

Her face was sad and lovely with bright things in it, bright eyes and a bright passionate mouth, but there was an excitement in her voice that men who had cared for her found difficult to forget: a singing compulsion. Jay Gatsby is the one who fell for Daisy’s seductive and unforgettable character. To him, Daisy is the embodiment of perfection. Daisy and Jay were in a relationship long, long time ago when they were young and way before Jay left to go to fight in the war. Daisy promised to wait for him, but instead she married Tom who promised her a wealthy and otherwise great life. To Gatsby, Daisy is charming, sophisticated and all other great things but in reality she is a shallow person who is in love with money and materialistic things. The love of Daisy is actually what drove Jay to reinvent

It is a dark place, a foreboding metropolis riddled with crime, corruption and urban decay. Bruce Wayne, a millionaire playboy, whose parents were murdered right in front of his eyes, took it upon himself to wage war on crime in Gotham city. He spent his life pursuing mental and physical perfection. However, he realized that pure strength and intelligence is not enough to fight the forces in Gotham. Figuring criminals are superstitious and cowardly, he decided that he would need a disguise that would strike fear into their hearts. At that moment, a bat flew in his window, inspiring him. This is how he became Batman, the Dark Knight, the hero of Gotham and the city's last hope against evil. But Batman did not only have to fight petty crime in Gotham

European Union boarders. Symbols Flag It is the symbol not only of the European Union but also of Europe's unity and identity in a wider sense. The circle of gold stars represents solidarity and harmony between the peoples of Europe. The number of stars has nothing to do with the number of member states. There are twelve stars because this number is traditionally the symbol of perfection, completeness and unity. So the flag therefore remains unchanged despited of EU enlargements. Anthem This is the anthem not only of the European Union but also of Europe in a wider sense. The melody comes from the Ninth Symphony, what is composed in 1823 by Ludwig Van Beethoven. In 1972, the Council of Europe took Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" theme as its anthem. It's without words. Euro

In Vedic culture those who were on lower level were allowed to eat meat, but under regulation to take only 1/6 and give rest to charity and to take a wow that in this life I kill in next life I shall be killed. On higher levels meat eating was discouraged and rejected. Our qouta is to eat what nature and God has arranged for us through nature we are prasadians. Why to be a prasadian? The perfection of life is not just to avoid karmic entanglement -less or more, it is to acknowledge & love the Lord. Eating meat = more karmic entanglement Eating vegetarian food = less karmic entanglement, but still karmic entanglement will be there. If we want to avoid karmic entanglement, which is the ultimate goal of life, we have to acknowledge the Lord. What happens when we acknowledge the Lord? That time we are living in harmony with nature:"My

The football World Cup attracts more global interest, as measured by the larger television audience. In ancient Olympic Games the Olympic flame was ignited and it burnt until the end of the games. In modern Olympics the flame appeared in 1928. The flame represents purity, endeavor of perfection etc. In 1936 Carl Diem suggested what is now the modern Olympic Torch Relay. It is lit in Olympia by women wearing ancient-style robes using a curved mirror and the sun. It is given from runner to runner until the games have begun. The Olympic flag was created by Pierre de Coubertin in 1914. There are five rings on a white background. The rings are blue, white, yellow, green and red. They represent the five continents of the world.
Muslims believe that God revealed his final message to humanity through the Islamic prophet Muhammad via the angel Gabriel. For them, Muhammad was God's final prophet and the Qur'an is the revelations he received over more than two decades. In Islam, prophets are men selected by God to be his messengers. Muslims believe that prophets are human and not divine, though some are able to perform miracles to prove their claim. Islamic prophets are considered to be the closest to perfection of all humans, and are uniquely the recipients of divine revelation--either directly from God or through angels. The Qur'an mentions the names of numerous figures considered prophets in Islam, including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus, among others. Islamic theology says that all of God's messengers since Adam preached the message of Islam--submission to the will of the one God. Islam is described in the Qur'an as "the primordial nature upon which God created mankind", and the

Tsitaat raamatust "Lean thinking" : "As organizations begin to accurately specify value, identify the entire value stream, make the value-creating steps for specific products flow continuously and let customers pull value from the enterprise, something very odd begins to happen. It dawns on those involved that there is no end in the process of reducing effort, time, space, cost and mistakes while offering a product which is ever more nearly what the customer actually wants. Suddenly perfection, the fifth and final principle of lean thinking, doesn't seem like a crazy idea." - Lean Thinking Kulusäästliku mõtlemise kontseptsiooni kokkuvõtvaks esitamiseks sobivad Jefrey Liker'i kulusäästlikkuse mõtlemise printsiibid. a mustard gas attack by the German troops at Verdun. During a period of convalescence in Villepinte he painted The Card Players (1917), a canvas whose robot-like, monstrous figures reflect the ambivalence of his experience of war. As he explained: ...I was stunned by the sight of the breech of a 75 millimeter in the sunlight. It was the magic of light on the white metal. That's all it took for me to forget the abstract art of 1912-1913. The crudeness, variety, humor, and downright perfection of certain men around me, their precise sense of utilitarian reality and its application in the midst of the life-and-death drama we were in...made me want to paint in slang with all its color and mobility.[4] This painting marked the beginning of his "mechanical period", during which the figures and objects he created were characterized by sleekly rendered tubular and machine-like forms. Starting in 1918, he also produced the first paintings in the Disk series, in which disks

Chelsea quality means that all the displays are imaginative as well as flawless because the competition to get in is fierce, and the standards are high. One rose grower told us that the trick is to have all blooms reach their absolute peak on the Monday of the show. Any part of the display that wilts, fades, drops leaves, etc., cannot be altered or removed once the exhibits are completed on Sunday before judging on Monday. So everything is carefully timed, packed, planted, and tended to reach perfection. Display gardens are started months before the show, starting with moving tons of earth, sod, stone, brick, sculptures, water and electrical infrastructure before the actual plants arrive in processions of "lorries" (delivery vans) days before the show opens. 14 Changes The transformation of the Chelsea Flower Show in the 21st century will be huge and

Defeat of France in Seeven years War -> unprecedented efflorescence of new-found confidence in country’s cultural potential. Scots and English had for 1st time fought side by side for common British cause. As century goes on emerges belief that strength of British culture lay not in a monolithic uniformity but in its very diversity. People with mixed descent had to hace culture with elements mixed: elegance of Latinity, Germanic sense of liberty, French grace, Celtic perfection. These held together by geographical confines, common Christian tradition (Protestant, based on Old Testament). When all roads led to Rome, others looked back into the island’s past. British Empire different from Roman: trade not brutality, liberty (Pax Britannica). By about 1790 culture had been forged, seen in books which traced the history and celebrated the achievements of the native tradition.. identity firmly in place to challenge French Revolution and the decades of war with France.

convinced of its necessity, saw that it succeeded far better than in the past, and that it kept on growing more and more." Levin becomes ecstatic, thinking he understands the meaning of life. He thinks to himself that he will never again be anything but kind to everyone in sight. Shortly afterward, though, he yells at a peasant and becomes confused. Yet in his new state of clarity he realizes that having faith doesn't equal perfection. Levin, like others, understands now that to be human is to be flawed. When Levin approaches home, coming in from his land, he hears that Kitty and the baby have gone into the woods. A thunderstorm crashes down. Levin is frightened that they could be struck by lightning. He finds them in the woods, finally, safe but soaked. The storm represents the confusion in Levin's mind. Yet right after Levin finds his family, the sky clears. Everyone is safe again
Figure 1 Ponte Saint-Martin (c 25 BC) near Torino (Italy). Shunsuke Baba, photographer The greatest bridge builders of antiquity were the Romans. They applied a civil engineering repertoire on an unprecedented grand scale and achieved impressive results. Roman engineering introduced four significant developments to the art of bridge building that never had been prominent before: the discovery and extensive use of natural cement, development of the coffer dam, perfection and widespread application of the semi-circular masonry arch, and the concept of public works (Figure 1). In these important respects, the Roman engineer vastly improved upon the efforts of his predecessors. Public water supply was the most significant aspect of Roman civil engineering: nothing like it had been achieved before nor was it to be emulated until the 19th century. Structural evolution achieved by Roman engineers is manifest in aqueducts, dam construction, and highway
Juhendaja: Eva Vahtramäe MA Mõdriku 2012 SUMMARY Final paper is composed on Changes of consuming habits in category of clothes and beauty products among female customers. with one consent admitted the natural liberty and equality of mankind. By whom this doctrine came at first to be broached, and brought in fashion amongst us, and what sad effects it gave rise to, I leave to historians to relate, or to the memory of those, who were contemporaries with Sibthorp and Manwering, to recollect. My business at present is only to consider what Sir Robert Filmer, who is allowed to have carried this argument farthest, and is supposed to have brought it to perfection, has said in it; for from him every one, who would be as fashionable as French was at court, has learned, and runs away with this short system of politics, viz. Men are not born free, and therefore could never have the liberty to choose either governors, or forms of government. Princes have their power absolute, and by divine right; for slaves could never have a right to compact or consent. Adam was an absolute monarch, and so are all princes ever since. Sir Robert
part of the profit on the development of new technology, it encourages technological progress, to charity, to solve social problems. If you increase taxes on excess profits, then controlled by the movement of the prices of goods and services. With the growth of tax 18 revenues to the treasury will decrease as proportion of entrepreneurs go bankrupt, will take part in the informal economy, incentives to work will fade. The perfection of the tax system depends on the elasticity of demand and supply of goods or services. Sellers shift taxes on buyers when demand is inelastic. If the proposal is inelastic, then taxes are passed on to the vendors. When tax rates are reasonable, we know their purpose, their payment is usually not shy. There are three ways to increase tax revenue: the expansion of the circle of taxpayers, an increase in the number of objects from which the tax is raised, raising tax rates. Tax rates
Estonian musicologist Aurora Semper wrote: The music of this symphony is... Pärt, but I would say on a different level. I think that we have been enriched with a very valuable work.1 Just the opposite was uttered by Ofelia Tuisk: Such historical sound stratification is as metaphysical as the serial system and it is without perspective, like Latin as a means of communication. 2 The more a work of art administers to our spiritual development, to harmonious perfection compromising the problems of mankind, the more we appreciate it. The large audience who welcomed the work warmly offered the best acknowledgement for the music. Strictly speaking, the Third Symphony is the first profoundly spiritual Estonian symphony and thus a unique one. Prominent Estonian conductor Neeme Järvi has often been the first interpreter of Pärt’s works, both in Estonia and abroad. His evaluation:
deeply identified with form, more lost in content, more trapped in ego. People believe themselves to be dependent on what happens for their happiness, that is to say dependent on form. They don't realize that what happens is the most unstable thing in the universe. It changes constantly. They look upon the present moment as either marred by something that has happened and shouldn't have or as deficient because of something that has not happened but should have. Ad so they miss the deeper perfection that is inherent in life itself, a perfection that is always already there, that lies beyond what is happening or not happening, beyond form. Accept the present moment and find the perfection that is deeper than any form and untouched by time. The joy of Being, which is the only true happiness, can not come to you through any form, possession, achievement, person, or event – through anything that happens. That joy cannot come to you – ever. It emanates form
boundaries of culture, geography, and time. T h e y are l a c k i n g something, or some thing is taken away from them. Often they have just lost a family member. A mother or father has died, or a brother or sister has been kidnapped. Fairy tales are about searching for completeness and striving for wholeness, and often it's a subtraction from the family unit that sets the story in motion. T h e need to fill in the missing piece drives the story toward the final perfection of " T h e y lived happily ever after." M a n y movies begin by showing an incomplete hero or family. Joan W i l d e r in Romancing the Stone and Roger T h o r n h i l l in North by Northwest are incomplete because they need ideal mates to balance their lives. Fay Wray's character in King Kong is an orphan who knows only "There's supposed to be an uncle someplace." These missing elements help to create sympathy for the hero, and draw the
"Perceptive," he whispered. And there was the anguish again, surfacing as he confirmed my fear. "That's exactly why you're wrong, though," he began to explain, but then his eyes narrowed. "What do you mean, 'the obvious'?" "Well, look at me," I said, unnecessarily as he was already staring. "I'm absolutely ordinary -- well, except for bad things like all the near-death experiences and being so clumsy that I'm almost disabled. And look at you." I waved my hand toward him and all his bewildering perfection. His brow creased angrily for a moment, then smoothed as his eyes took on a knowing look. "You don't see yourself very clearly, you know. I'll admit you're dead-on about the bad things," he chuckled blackly, "but you didn't hear what every human male in this school was thinking on your first day." I blinked, astonished. "I don't believe it..." I mumbled to myself. "Trust me just this once -- you are the opposite of ordinary."
The Toyota Way is based on five core values that all workers from top management down to regular operators are expected to follow and live by in their day to day work (Bicheno J. and Holweg M. 2009): 1. Challenge to maintain a long-term vision and strive to meet all changes with the courage and creativity needed to realize that vision. 2. Kaizen to strive for continuous improvement. There is always room for improvement, perfection does not exist. 3. Genchi Genbutshu go see the problem, in other words, go to the source of problem. This is the belief that practical experience is valued over theoretical knowledge. You must see the problem to understand it. 4. Respect to make every effort to understand others, accept responsibility and build mutual trust (introvert and extrovert). 5. Teamwork to share opportunities for development and maximize team and individual
Norway without interference by the powerful British fleet. When the British Narvik expedition was under way, the high command plotted, Germany would send out a decoy force which the British would think was heading to attack their expedition at Narvik. To protect it, Britain would send the rest of its naval forces away to the north. As soon as this happened, the transports would cross the Skagerrak without fear of major sea attack. The scheme worked to perfection. Late in March the B-Dienst showed British vessels en route to Narvik. On April 2 Hitler set the invasion for the 9th. The decoy force put out to sea and was spotted on the 7th by the British. As the Germans expected, the Admiralty ordered the Home Fleet and the 1st and 2nd Cruiser Squadrons to head for Narvik. As they raced away from where the action was, the German transports completed their voyage undisturbed by the nation that supposedly rules the waves and
If you were a foreigner well-versed in English or at least had learned the lexical meanings of the words and enough grammar to understand the literal meanings of sen- tences, but you took utterances like the foregoing examples literally, there would still be something important that you were missing. Another kind of "implication" that has exercised linguists is what Geis and Zwicky (1971) originally called "invited inference." One example is the perfection of conditionals into biconditionals: Suppose I say, 158 Pragmatics and speech acts (2) If you mow my lawn, I'll give you ten dollars. Taken literally, (2) is only a one-way conditional; without logical impropriety I could have added, "Come to think of it, if you don't mow my lawn I'll give you ten dollars anyway." But upon hearing (2) alone, you would immediately fill in that if you do not mow my lawn then I will not give you the ten dollars.

You're the grand prize. If a woman can't have you, they know they're settling for less than the best. So they can't think about not having you. They just think of crazy ways to try and get you." "Except for the one I want," he retorted dryly, "who spends a lot of time running in the opposite direction." I stared unabashedly, drinking him in as he stood naked in front of me. "Answer one question for me, Gideon. Why do you want me, when you can have your pick of perfection instead? And I'm not fishing for compliments or reassurances. I'm asking an honest question." He caught me up and moved us into the bedroom. "Eva, if you don't stop thinking of us as temporary, I'm going to take you over my knee and make damn sure you like it." Setting me down in a chair, he went to rifle through my drawers. I watched him pulling out underwear, yoga pants, and a top. "Have you forgotten I sleep in the nude with you?" "We're not staying here
scarcity and thereby increase its immediate value in their eyes. I admit to developing a grudging admiration for the practitioners who made this simple device work in a multitude of ways and styles. I was most impressed, however, with a particular ver- sion that extended the basic approach to its logical extreme by selling a piece of mer- chandise at its scarcest point-when it seemingly could no longer be had. The tactic was played to perfection in one appliance store I investigated where 30 to 50 percent of the stock was regularly listed on sale. Suppose a couple in the store seemed, from a distance, to be moderately interested in a certain sale item. There are all sorts of cues that tip off such interest-closer-than-normal examination of the appliance, a casual look at any instruction booklets associated with the appliance, discussions held in front of the appliance, but no attempt to seek out a salesperson for further
