Kvalitatiivne artikkel

Mina valisin kvalitatiivse inglise keelse artikli ,,A qualitative study of patients' views on anxiety and depression." Artikli teemaks ja eesmärgiks oli uurida patsientide vaateid ärevuse ja depressiooni kohta ja kuidas nad sooviks, et nende probleeme lahendataks. Uurimuse probleemiks toodi välja, et patsientide enda vaateid ei uurita seoses ärevuse ja depressiooniga, vaid tihtipeale soovitakse kohe tuvastada diagnoos ja vastavat ravimit kasutada selleks. Andmete kogumiseks kasutati individuaalseid ja grupi intervjuusid.

Long-Term Nursing Clinic, haigla

Term Nursing Department , II Long-Term Nursing Department and Department of Patient without Medical Insurance. The head of Long-Term Nursing Clinic is Jüri Ennet, the head of Long-Term Nursing Centre is Raivo Kolle and the head nurse of Clinic is Silvia Petrova. Offering long-term nursing care in Estonia is becoming increasingly more important due to the aging of the population. More attention is being paid to how patients cope and this requires close cooperation and communication between the patient, their next of kin, hospitals and national social welfare. The structural change that occurred in the East Tallinn Central Hospital (ETCH) in 2006, according to which medical rehabilitation was separated from the current comprehensive clinic, was the biggest change for departments engaged in long-term nursing. Medicine and elements of medical care Medicine is the science of healing, but at the same time it is art of healing. It is a science, because it is based on knowledge, which is gained through careful study and experimentation. It is an art because a very large part of it depends on how skillfully doctors apply this knowledge when they are dealing with patients. The goal of medicine is to save lives. Also medicine relieves suffering. Medical care consists of three main elements: the diagnosis, treatment of disease and the promotion of health and prevention of disease. Diagnosis is required for every health problem. To identify the diseas or damage the doctors use tools and apparatures, ask the patients questions about their condition and past illnesses.According to that treatment is done.

Music therapy

Music was found to reduce the pain during dental procedures. Playing music in the background while we are working, seemingly unaware of the music itself, has been found to reduce the stress. Music was found to reduce heart rates and to promote higher body temperature - an indication of the onset of relaxation. Combining music with relaxation therapy was more effective than doing relaxation therapy alone. Those who practice music therapy are finding a benefit in using music to help cancer patients, children with ADD, and others, and even hospitals are beginning to use music and music therapy to help with pain management, to help ward off depression, to promote movement, to calm patients, to ease muscle tension, and for many other benefits that music and music therapy can bring With all these benefits that music can carry, it's no surprise that music therapy is growing in popularity.

Rational Use of Diagnostic Tests

Rational Use of Diagnostic Tests Screening tests Diagnostic tests are often used to screen asymptomatic patients and identify risk factors for occult disease. Screening tests should be generally noninvasive, inexpensive, and of minimal risk to the patient. Screening tests should have high diagnostic sensitivity, which means few false negative results would be expected, as the goal of testing is to rule out the presence of disease. Screening tests should be used to screen for diseases that (1) have serious consequences if left undetected, (2) are reasonably prevalent within the population, and (3)

Live music was used in hospitals after both of the World Wars, as part of the regime for some recovering soldiers. Music has been shown to affect portions of the brain. Part of this therapy is the ability of music to affect emotions and social interactions. Music may reduce heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure in patients with coronary heart disease. Benefits included a decrease in blood pressure, heart rate, and levels of anxiety in heart patients. Listening to Mozart's piano sonata can reduce the number of seizures in people with epilepsy.

The NHS is controlled by the UK government. Some of their agencies have influence in other parts of the United Kingdom but the service is mainly known simply as NHS. The NHS has recently been the target of criticism over the years. Examples of such are: the length of waiting lists for consultations and surgical procedures; the lack of availability of various treatments either due to long waiting lists or lack of professionals willing to treat NHS patients and leading to people seeking private treatment in cheaper countries overseas. 4. Diseases In humans, disease is often used more broadly to refer to any condition thatcauses discomfort, dysfunction, distress or death to the person affected. In broader sense, it sometimes includes injuries, disabilities, disorders, syndromes and infections. Many different factors may cause disease. Examples of such are genetic defects or nutritional deficiencies

ingested. Gable has found no published cases in the English language that document deaths from smoked marijuana, so the actual lethal dose is a mystery. Gable’s surmise is that smoking marijuana is more risky than eating it but still safer than getting drunk by alcohol (Gable, American Scientist 2006, 94). Third reason why Estonia should decriminalize cannabis is that our doctors are afraid to write out descriptions for patients for the use of medical marijuana. By the law they are allowed to do so, but no doctor in Estonia has had the courage to write out the description for it. That leads the patients to go on the Black market in search of cannabis, which makes them criminals in the eye of law. The patient can never be sure of the quality of the cannabis he or she is buying in the Black market, with the description the patient would receive marijuana which is controlled and pure

phosphate levels. Drugs (Phosphate binders): There are various phosphate binders available in the United States: calcium carbonate (OScal®), calcium acetate (PhosLo®), sevelamer (Renvela®), lanthanum (Fosrenol®) and aluminum hydroxide (Amphojel®). They work by binding to phosphate in the gastrointestinal tract and forming a compound that cannot be absorbed into the blood and instead is then excreted in the feces. These medicines are most often used in patients who have end-stage renal disease (ESRD) or are on dialysis. However, they are sometimes used in patients with stages 3 and 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD). Timing is important when taking phosphate binders. Phosphate binders must be taken with meals, otherwise they do not work. This is because they only bind phosphate in food that you consume. If a dose is not taken within 30-minutes from when you last ate, it should be skipped and the following dose taken as scheduled with the next meal

Hypermobility. The effect of hypermobility on flexibility

Contrary to the positive effects of hypermobility, the condition can cause a lot of inconveniences and discomfort. If one has the syndrome, one also has a greater risk to injure or dislocate one’s joints. Since the joints are fragile and not strong enough to endure the pressure one applies to them, sprains as well as strains are easy to emerge. Furthermore, one can sustain extreme pain because of the condition. Some of the patients suffer from chronic pain during their entire lives. In most cases, the musculoskeletal pain is caused by arthritis 13, which is a joint inflammation that causes a lot of pain. The joints affected are located mostly in the spine, fingers or knees. The syndrome’s patient’s fingers are at a high risk for arthritis as well. If Joint Hypermobility Syndrome becomes unbearable or causes vast pain, one should contact a doctor immediately

life  Even though pet therapy is only now being widely used, it is not a new idea. In the eighteenth century an English doctor, William Tuke, filled the grounds of a hospital for mentally disturbed people with chickens, rabbits and goats. At a time when people were usually punished for strange behavior rather than helped, this was a radical new approach to treating the mentally disturbed. Tuke's idea was that patients could learn self-control by caring for creatures weaker than themselves.  This is an idea which has persisted. In New York, horses, cows, cats and dogs were recruited to heal soldiers who had been wounded during World War II. These animals comforted the traumatized and helped the battle-scarred to avoid becoming obsessed with their injuries.  During the 1970's, scientific interest was rekindled by a study that had originally set out

NHS made it possible that the benefits once available only for insured persons, or those who could afford it or as a form of charity, became available to everyone. The patient is free to choose his doctor, and change to another if he wishes to do so. The doctor may accept private patients while taking part in the service. About 97% of the whole population of Great Britain is using the service. Only persons whose names are on the medial register can parties as doctors in the NHS. the ending was unexpected, that is what is diffrent from other movies. I have once seen this film before and then iI thought it was much more boring because I was younger and could not understand the point of the film. It still is confusing and I think the film gets more logical with time or when you watch it over and over again. I would suggest is to people my age and older. The best part in the movie was when they were in cell block C, where the most dangerous patients were held and I also liked the part where Teddy found the nurse in a cave and she told him about the plans and things the doctor was doing in the hospital. It was a good movie but for me it was a little bit boring.

Animal Experimentation

Despite the wide use of animal testing, the research gained from it is not helpful to mankind. The chemicals and medicines tested on animals reacts differently on every species. That is why results gained from animal testing could be incorrect and misleading. In many cases, not only are the results wrong, but the opposite can be true for humans; a drug may cure a disease in lab animals but have an bad effect when used in treating people for the same symptoms. Only the study of human patients will ultimately lead to valid research. Unfortunately, many institutions which commit violations of animal rights appear to have no concern for their activity. It seems that the only option is to force them to stop their cruelty. Bills concerning animal research should be introduced to Congress as soon as possible. This is the only way to ensure that this tragedy will be ended, or at least contained.

At that time, autism wasn't a widely known disorder. Nowadays, there is still no actual cure for it but it can be managed. Many people who are autistic can live relatively normal lives. The therapy for autism is usually different for every subject. It has to be developed for the patients' needs. In the movie, Raymond didn't have that. Even his own brother thought he was crazy and stupid when in reality, he was exceptionally smart and understood numbers the way no one else did. The third problem is the relationship between Charlie and his father. They hadn't spoken for years when Charlie found out that he had died. It was all because his father had punished him for ,,borrowing" his car. He took it very badly and left home. I think in the end he regretted the decision

The Polar Boy

The characters were in the kind of situations where they have to decide whether they trust their feelings, risk their lives believing in love or trust some stereotypes and fears they have. Although Mattias and Hannah made a lot of mistakes, they always tried to help each other. The film made me think more about people, who have mental illnesses, because the movie tried to show mental problems as they really are. This movie can deeply affect the public, drawing attention to the needs of mental patients, and increasing tolerance towards psychologically ill people. In conclusion I can say, that “The Polar Boy” is a powerful movie and it is definitely worth seeing. It is about hope and trust and it shows how kindness and love can cure even the deepest wounds.

It's a nonsense to keep everybody at the same level regardless of their progress. ... their employers don't pay them a living wage. It's a scandal, because many pizza parlours, pubs and burger bars are really being subsidized by the Government. It's perfect for short-outings - boat trips around the islands and visits to show-piece villages such as Sigtuna. It's wrong to leave hospital patients without doctors and nurses. Likewise, strikes among teachers can severely disrupt the education of our children. They're ideal for people who really want to relax and live life at a slower pace. 4.3 Expressing certainty According to government statistics, waiting lists are coming down. Actually, Esperanto is closer to European languages than any others. In fact, we have some of the top chefs in the world, but only people with

what is really going on emotionally. Saying, “I’m really hurt by how my friend treated me,” or “I’m terrified of losing this friendship” opens us up and makes us more vulnerable, and therefore feels easier to bury underneath the body-shaming comments that rush to mind. How do we challenge this? In situations like those listed above, expressing true feelings rather than physical criticisms can be a great first step. Recently discussed in IOP, several patients admitted that it is hard to identify ways of expressing frustration without using body-shaming, as this has become an almost automatic response. I will bring out some ways, how to deal with body shaming Practice identifying why you are upset about a situation. For example, it’s unlikely that you’re mad at a friend because she’s breaking out, and more likely that you’re upset about a miscommunication or feeling of rejection. Practice thinking it,

( Nagu eelpool mainitud, siis narkootikumidega seotud juhtumid jäeti algselt välja.) eggs and caviar squeezed from a tube for breakfast; to ham, cheese and cucumber slices for lunch; to just plain butter along with your dinner. Lördagsgodis (Saturday candy) Saturday is candy day in Sweden, and most children indulge only once a week. Upheld mostly to protect people’s teeth and prevent dental cavities, the tradition is historically linked to dubious medical practices. In the 1940s and 1950s, at Vipeholm Mental Hospital in Lund patients were used in a series of human experiments for research purposes, and fed large amounts of candy to intentionally cause tooth decay. Based on its findings in 1957 of the direct relationship between sweets and tooth decay, the Medical Board suggested Swedes eat candy only once a week — a tradition that is still upheld in many households today.
