Charles John Huffam Dickens was born on 7 February 1812 in Landport, Portsmouth, in Hampshire, the second of eight children to John Dickens. He was the most popular English novelist of the Victorian era and one of the most popular of all time. He created some of literature's most memorable characters. His novels and short stories have never gone out of print Sharles visited America twice, where he gave lectures, raised support for copyright laws, and recorded many of his impressions of America. In 1835 he met and became engaged to Catherine Hogarth. In 1844 Dickens and his family toured Italy, and were much abroad, in Italy, Switzerland, and France, until 1847 He died on the 9 June 1870 after a stroke. Much of his work first appeared in periodicals and magazines in serialised form, a favoured way of publishing fiction at the time. Other writers of the time would complete entire novels before serial

(I think the numbers are a litte bit exaggerated. 60/40 would be more suitable.) In my opinion, it goes for every field. From knowledge to beauty, form sport to art and so on. If you're talented and think that work is overrated, then you have a wrong attitude. You may be the best for some time, but the diligent ones will (by)pass you quickly. (40 sek) On the other hand, attitude is changeable, nor like aptitude. Attitude can be easily changed by impressions and experiences. Aptitude countrawise is given by nature and nobody can change it. You can only increase your aptitude a litte bit with hard work. Being open to new experiences could lead you to right direction. You just have to find things you're good at. Because it would be dissapointing to work really hard and alwats stay on the same level/ you probably wouldn't get far. Successful people know what they want to achive. They have a clearly defined goal. They are
consistent and authentic. Great stories make a promise. They promise fun or money, safety or a shortcut. The promise is bold and audacious and not very good. Great stories are trusted. Trust is the scarcest resource we´ve got left. Consumers don ´t trust the spokespeople on commercials and companies that make pharmaceuticals. Great stories are subtle. Surprisingly, the less a marketer spells out, the more powerful the story becomes. Great stories happen fast. First impressions are far more powerful than we give them credit for. Great stories don´t always need eight- pages colour brochures or a face- to- face meeting. Great stories are rarely aimed to everyone. Average people have too many different points of view about life. Consumers are clever and they´ll see throught your deceit at once. And most of all, great stories agree with our worldview. The best stories don´t teach people anything new. Consumers are complict in marketing. Consumers believe stories
nose. But there are more serious problems created by the violent TV programs. Sometimes some people want to imitate even those scenes where someone suffers serious harm or even dies. For example, two young children watched Tom & Jerry and they saw a scene where Jerry drummed a pan into a Tom’s head. They also tried it out, but this led to the sister’s death. Several things can be done to avoid the bad impressions caused by the violent programs. Firstly, you can forbid your children to watch violent programs. However, this isn’t easy task at all, because forbidding children will make them very curious. Another thing to mention is that if possible, parents should watch TV with their children and talk with them about what they have seen. Young children are often unable to separate reality from TV shows. Finally, parents can use a V-chip in some countries, for example in the USA

Conclusion In conclusion, I would like to say that the book was better than I had expected. I found it really interesting and gripping, on the other hand it was really moving. I also think that people can experience real fun while reading it. The plot was thought-provoking and surprising. The ending was happy, and the journey to it well worth the time. I have really good impressions about this book as it made me think and I would definately recommend it to everybody, especially young ladies.

Jane Austen "Pride & Prejudice" Pride and Prejudice, first published on 28 January 1813, has consistently been Jane Austen's most popular novel. Austen sold the copyright for Pride and Prejudice to Thomas Egerton. Egerton published the first edition of Pride and Prejudice in three hardcover volumes in January. The tone is light and a little humoristic. Pride and Prejudice is a humorous story of love and life among English gentility. At first the book was called "First impressions" and this gives a better expression to the requests of the author, than the later heading. People meet, do not understand each other and communication does not offer joy either. So this is contrary to love at first sight. It is a tale of love and values in the class-conscious England of the late 18th century. It is a story of five sisters and their lives. It is a story through the dangerous, exciting and loving feelings of the characters.

He runs, carrying her on his back, to a large field, which Bella recognizes as the baseball clearing she visited with the Cullens over a year previously. The familiar place brings back memories of James and his coven. Thinking about Victoria, Bella suddenly makes a connection between all the recent events. She tells Edward about her realization, rejecting his former theory that the Volturi are at the heart of the trouble. Edward considers her new impressions, and agrees that it's a possibility. Bella notices that Alice looks frustrated and Edward explains that she is uncomfortable being "blinded" by the wolves' involvement. The pack finally enters the clearing, arriving in wolf form. There are more wolves now than Bella last knew about, and the vampires are both fascinated and careful. Carlisle welcomes them and Edward acts as translator, using his mind reading abilities to speak for the pack. The wolves agree to watch and listen, but are not
To understand it, I was always thinking practically – I created a character, like in a movie or a book. What should happen first with the character, what factors influence the creation of individual identity? I agree to Giddens – person isn´t born with identity, everyone has to build and develop it during the whole life. Many factors play their own roles in this process, and I think the first factor is a family. All mayor impressions about culture, religion, relations we carry through life starting from families, especially parents. Secondary factor, what comes to characters´ life is neighbourhood and friends. From this moment factors are starting to interact, influencing our thoughts and feelings. Later as a factor could come religion or state or work – it depends on characters´ life. Factors interactions could be very different – they can supply one another or to be in conflict

The star was brighter than any other star for more than two years contemporary accounts tell us that the star was so bright that it could be seen in daylight. And in 1600, another star appeared. This star was observed by Johannes Kepler(15711630). The heavens seemed to be in flux [ jõuväljas ]. Such occurrences made lasting impressions on all men, whether scientist or not. After all, this was an age in which men believed their fate to be written in the stars and now those stars were changing. What Brahe and Kepler had seen were supernovas, the explosions of old stars.

Between 1895 and 1960, he wrote a few novellas and tales dealing with childhood and adolescence, which was a reveal of his earlier theme of innocence in a corrupted world. The most famous of these are the enigmatic The Turn of the Screw and What Maisie Knew. In the first four years of the 20th century, James wrote three great novels The Ambassadors, The wings of the Dove, and The Golden Bowl which represented the summit of his art. In the last years of his life, he wrote some American impressions and some autobiographical matter, and left two novels, The Ivory Tower and The Sense of the past unfinished. During his life time, his fame rested largely upon his handling of his major fictional theme, "the international theme": the meeting of American and Europe, American innocent contact with Europe decadence, and its moral and psychological complications. In his whole writing career James was concerned with "point of view" which is at the center of aesthetic of the novel

So there was the qualitative research carried out. 12 interviews with the target group (four women, four men and four children) and 30 questioneers filled in by parents clarified wishes and expectation of this group. 69 Tourist experience is a powerful and special physical condition of senses, impressions and feelings. There are four realms of an experience, equally important to concider. Experience should be entertaining, educational, creating esthetic value through a special environment and offering escape from everyday life. It is desirable, when it has value in functional level, it is easy to use ja pleasant in emotional level. The more senses involved, the more effective and memorable an experience is. Guided excursions could easily become boring, if it is mostly listening

Being a graduate from the St. Petersburg Conservatoire (1920) he was especially impressed by the music of Alexander Scriabin: later when visiting Paris, he took a serious interest in the modern currents of European music. The tone poem Viirastused (Ghosts) was an artistic reflection of his visit to the famous Paris underground cemetery. His period of renewal was introduced by the tone poem Öö hüüded (Night Calls, 1920), inspired by the impressions of a stormy night he spent in an empty seaside summer cottage.2 The restlessness of the main theme becomes menacing: Example 25. 1 Juhan Aavik. Eesti muusika ajalugu III (History of Estonian Music III) (Stockholm: Kirjastus Eesti Lauljaskond Rootsis, 1969) 29. 2 First performance in Tartu’s Vanemuine Theatre, 8 Apr. 1921, the orchestra was conducted by the composer. But it does not follow that these strings of words do, in fact, mean anything as wholes. Objection 3 The Verification Theory leads to bad or at least highly controversial meta- physics. Recall that a verification condition is a set of experiences. The positivists meant such verifying experiences to be described in a uniform kind of language called an "observation language." Suppose our "observation language" restricts itself to the vocabulary of subjective sense impressions, as in "I now seem to see a pink rabbit-shaped thing in front of me." Then it follows from verificationism that any meaningful statement I succeed in making can ultimately only be about my own sense impressions; if solipsism is false, I cannot meaningfully say that it is. And neither can anyone else. Even if instead we loosen our notion of "observation" and include what Hempel (1950) called the "directly observable characteristics" of ordinary
dressed requester and to do so without bothering to read it first (Suedfeld, Bochner, 8{ Matas, 1971). Click, whirr. Another way requesters can manipulate similarity to increase liking and com- pliance is to claim that they have backgrounds and interests similar to ours. Car 'Have you ever noticed that despite their good looks, many attractive people don't seem to share the positive impressions of their personalities and abilities that observers have? Research has not only confirmed the tenuous and inconsistent relationship between attractiveness and self-esteem (see Adams, 1977), it has also offered a possible explanation. One set of authors has produced evidence sug- gesting that good-looking people are aware that other people's positive evaluations of them are not
Shocked by the fury of my reaction, I wrenched away, gasping. Gideon followed, nuzzling the side of my face, his lips brushing over my ear. He was breathing hard, too, and the sound of the ice in his tumbler clinking against the glass skittered across my inflamed senses. "I need to be inside you, Eva," he whispered roughly. "I'm aching for you." My gaze fell to my drink on the table, my thoughts swirling around in my head, a clusterfuck of impressions and recollections and confusion. "How did you know?" His tongue traced the shell of my ear and I shivered. It felt like every cell in my body was straining toward his. Resisting him took an impossible amount of energy, draining me and making me feel tired. "Know what?" he asked. "What I like to drink? What Cary's name is?" He inhaled deeply, and then pulled away. Setting his drink down, he shifted on the sofa and
Every idea, opin- ion, feeling, attitude, or value you have as an adult you learned from childhood. Everything you are today is the result of an idea or im- pression you took in and accepted as true. When you believe some- thing to be true, it becomes true for you, whatever the fact may be. “You are not what you think you are, but what you think, you are.” ■ FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE LASTING If you were raised by parents who continually told you what a good person you were, who loved you, encouraged you, supported you, and believed in you, no matter what you did or didn’t do, you would grow up with the belief that you were a good and valuable person. By the age of three, this belief would lock in and become a funda- mental part of the way you view yourself in relation to your world.

showed to me personally which made most of my success in Secret Service operations possible"—an unexampled acknowledgment of indebtedness to communications intelligence by a cloak-and-dagger man. The R.S.H.A. repaid some of this generous help with the products of the greatest spy coup of World War II— Operation Cicero. "Cicero" was Elyesa Bazna, an Albanian working in Ankara as the valet to Sir Hughe Knatchbull-Hugessen, British ambassador to neutral Turkey. Bazna had taken wax impressions of the keys to the black dispatch box which Sir Hughe kept beside his bed for the secret papers that he liked to pore over late at night. The valet would open the box, photograph the documents, and sell the rolls of film to the R.H.S.A. agent in Turkey, L. C. Moyzisch provided the Germans with information about Russian war production and army activities. *No Pers z representative appears to have attended—probably a
